Happy Advent!

Here's the link to the November thread where we cheered each other on to be MoSlender

Now we slide frostily into Christmas with the hope of losing more (or at least not losing our grip completely)

Broth for much, French onion soup for dinner, I really really really want to see 11something on the scales by the end of the week! I am hopeful!

DP just told me that MIL has an exercise bike in the garage, WIBU to go round and use it or is that super cheeky? We only live a 5-10 min walk away, so walk could be used as a warm up and cool down... thinking of getting a spin class vid on my phone so I can pretend I am Arianna Grande...

HairsprayBabe · 12/12/2016 13:34

*lunch not much...

QuimReaper · 12/12/2016 15:55

Hairspray of course not, it's hardly an imposition if it's in her garage, I'm sure she'd be very happy to let you pop in for a spin!

We are supposedly inheriting DH's grandfather's exercise bike. He also has a treadmill. Not sure how we'll ever get them down from Scotland though...

BitOutOfPractice · 12/12/2016 16:00

Oh oh oh I am so grinny

I have got three big bin bags of old "too small" clothes down from the loft. Except they're not too small GrinGrinGrin it's like a whole new wardrobe. I am over the moon!

OP posts:
Lorelei76 · 12/12/2016 16:09

oh Bit, well done, that must be so fun! Mine are actually in the same wardrobe due to lack of space, so you'd think I'd be more motivated.

you have all motivated me though, I'm pretty well on track and have no food out to worry about till 20th I think. Yay.

BitOutOfPractice · 12/12/2016 17:04

Lorelei I do love this thread. It's small and friendly and just gives you a little boost to read how everyone is doing

HairsprayBabe · 12/12/2016 18:27

We are seeing her tomorrow afternoon so I may just ask, we see them all the time and are quite close so I'm sure she won't mind I just didn't want to be cheeky!

Excellent NSV there BOOP love "new" clothes!

Just had tea and I am properly stuffed, felt bit green all day tbh, I will be avoiding balies for the forseeable future Envy

KikisDeliveryService · 12/12/2016 19:21

Whoop Boop!

Hairspray you've reminded me I have 2 avocados in the fridge. My favourite is vogel toast with butter, marmite, avocado, sliced tomatoes, lime juice and lashings of pepper. Yum yum yum.

Actually went swimming. I'm out of practice/a bit unfit at the moment so hardly any distance but felt good anyway which will motivate to get myself back to the gym.

Archduke · 12/12/2016 22:31

Well done BOOP on the NSV, that's great. I'm like Lorelei and have clothes galore in my wardrobe that are lovely but all too small Sad, with about 5 things that fit. It would be fabulous if I can get into them again.

I had an end of year Board Meeting last night which was pretty much a Christmas knees up with Champers on tap and pizza. So obvious as I have the will power of jelly, I drank like a fish and ate my body weight in pizza. I did decline a slice of cheesecake though so Yay me.

Tonight out for end of year netball dinner at the pub - am hoping they have a special on lettuce and water.

Good for you Kiki going swimming, and def go for the exercise bike Hairspray, surely MIL can't complain!

HairsprayBabe · 13/12/2016 07:51

12.3 how did that happen

SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 13/12/2016 09:25

It will happen eventually Hairspray! Don't lose heart.

I am still hovering around -3lbs for the month so far, hoping to lose a couple more pounds before Christmas to make my goal of -5lbs for the month, then I will only need to think about maintaining over the actual Christmas period. It's not happening for me just yet though.. Still, I have a body pump class this evening, hoping that will give my metabolism a bit of a kick!

QuimReaper · 13/12/2016 12:41

Aaaaaagh I am so pleased for you BOOP what a fantastic feeling!

I still have stuff I can't get into, but I do remember opening my wardrobe and just staring past 90% of it for the tiny handful of stuff I could still actually wear. It sucked, and I'm so in the habit now that I sometimes sort of blink and readjust my eyes, and realise I'm staring past something which might quite easily fit me now!

I'm a NSV machine at the moment. Was out on Sat and wearing a slinky new dress and a friend commented that I'd lost weight; then last night after the theatre I was with a friend and she introduced me to her friend, who suddenly announced "you've got an amazing figure!" out of absolutely nowhere! Shock She was one of those lovely bubbly immediately-warm people, you can tell every thought in her brain comes clattering straight out of her mouth. I should start handing out random compliments more often, it made my jaw drop!

On both occasions I was in a slinky dress + spanx, I think that'll have to be my uniform from now on Grin

QuimReaper · 13/12/2016 12:44

I honestly think my Final Push this week might just put me back to where I was at the start of the month though...

Lorelei76 · 13/12/2016 12:51

it's so easy to put it on and yet so hard to shift - I gained that 5lb like lightning and still no change on the scales this AM. Bleh. I do have pre period bloat though, if you're in London and see a large round thing with an alarmed face floating over, I'm not here to rescue you from the Piccadilly line chaos, I've just taken off on account of all the extra bloat.

QuimReaper · 13/12/2016 13:14

Like Aunt Marge Lorelei?

When the period comes and goes, you'll definitely see a whoosh.

BitOutOfPractice · 13/12/2016 13:25

Oh how marvellous SlimJimQuim! Lovely to get an unexpected compliment like that. I'm hoping you will be wearing the slinky dress and sucky in pants to do the gardening, walk the dog, shower....

Lorelei don't be disheartened. The whoosh will surely come

OP posts:
Lorelei76 · 13/12/2016 13:59

I had to look up Aunt Marge!

I should probably say - I never get a woosh. I lose weight really slowly, so having lost some and then gained some back is a real pain.

If I get a half pound off I'm happy so this is a nuisance....but I know I'll get there.

QuimReaper · 13/12/2016 15:25

I am definitely going to be wearing my sucky-inny pants in the bath, I'm even thinking about wearing them under my swimming cossie Grin I have those ever-so-sexy ones that come halfway down your leg, and pulling them on the other day I poked a hole in the bum.

DH is a lucky, lucky man.

QuimReaper · 13/12/2016 15:34

Lorelei I'm an agonisingly slow loser too. A few hundred grams on a good week. I don't diet over the weekend, but I've still only lost 6lb or so since the start of September: that's three "7lb a month" threads and half of a fourth, and I still haven't even lost 7lb Blush

That's why I love this group, it's small enough that I can more or less keep up with everyone and it keeps me going through the sloooooow process!

BitOutOfPractice · 13/12/2016 16:30

I'm in London at a client do (wearing clothes I discovered yesterday). Prosecco has no calories right?

OP posts:
HairsprayBabe · 13/12/2016 17:45

NSV abound, just had a bath, been complaining sincr I moved here that our bath is too small to lie in, turns out bath was a normal size and the person in it was too big! Blush
Not any more though!!!

QuimReaper · 13/12/2016 19:12

BOOP nope. Not a one: in fact, it's like celery, the energy you spend eating it exceeds the calories in it, so it actually carries a negative value Wink

Hairspray that's fab!

BitOutOfPractice · 13/12/2016 20:13

I working hard on the quim prosecco theory. Purely for scientific purposes you understand. I am so giving

HairsprayBabe · 13/12/2016 21:00

We salute you for your dedication to the cause BOOP

BitOutOfPractice · 13/12/2016 22:48

I have dedicated myself to the cause all evening. Several times over.

I conclude: blimey it's all worth itGrin
