Welcome, Tinker, nice to have you on board. 15lbs is an amazing loss, over a stone. Brilliant stuff, well done. I do think it gets a bit harder to lose more as you progress. What do you want to lose overall?

Loving the gin Not. My kind of portion size for gin.

Hope you are okay today Daw I missed your post last night. Hope things are okay at home.

Poached pears and ice cream sounds wonderful Bath. Take it easy if you need to. I am useless at late nights.

Today I marshalled at the Park Run as it was our clubs turn. A bitter cold experience but inspiring to see how many shapes and sizes and speeds had got themselves out in the freezing cold rain at 9am to run or walk a hilly course. All organised by volunteers. Brilliant.

Inspired me to run myself today, I wasn't supposed to but couldn't resist the urge to do an easy 5 miles.

I am eating and eating and eating today. I've had 2 lunches. Starving. I'm really skinny though at the minute so I really don't care. Friends are coming over for take out pizza later, and lots of wine.

Tomorrow I will do 8/10 miles and be on the go with the pony. DH is going to cook a roast beef dinner. Nom nom.

Welcome Tinker great progress so far - weight loss isn't linear, there are lots of ups, downs and plateaus along the way - it's figuring out your strategy for getting through the non-down bits that will make your weight loss successful (oh dear god that sounded really preachy sorry, just mean everyone here has ways of coping but everyone has to find their own Way because someone else's way won't necessarily work.
Need not surprised you need two lunches with the amount of exercise this week!
This afternoon I'm actually having periods of feeling almost well again - chest is still a bit tight and sore and I'm still getting tired easily but a lot better than yesterday (which was horrible in the end I felt really rough again). Bizarrely I've ended up eating close to target each of the last three days just because I haven't felt like eating more. I've also found myself really looking at the portion size of things and deciding how much I really want/is sensible and actually making really good decisions as a result - I think when I'm 'dieting' I put blind faith in the scales and don't really still train my eyes on how to judge the portion sizes. Something to work on... Made homemade fish pie tonight for me and DS (DH is away for the night on a boys weekend thing in Bristol) and he wolfed it down which is great (trying to get him to put on 3-4lbs since all his illnesses).
Not I have gin envy - I messed up Dry January because everyone was ill and I got stressed and drank wine, so started again on 28th Jan and haven't had a drink since (being really ill has helped!🙄). Didn't weigh this morning ending as DS woke up at 4am and wouldn't go back to sleep, will try to tomorrow to just check where I'm at.
Finally Bath keep going, and Daw I'm sorry you're sad, please keep checking in, we're all daft enough most days to put a smile on your face!

Morning all, only alive again after bad hangover yesterday. The gins and wine floored but, not literally though, phew. Welcome xT, you've done great over the 4 weeks, I'm sure you'll continue to suceed.
Its bitter cold here & extremely windy which puts paid to outdoor activities. Going to do a slow cooker beef casserole/stew for late lunch, usual egg & toast for breakfast. Need to pull back for the next few days to rebalance after the excesses of Friday. Glad to hear you're feeling a bit better jonty, rest as much as you can though - those bouts of tiredness are there to tell you rest is still needed. Easy said then done with a little one I know, but I'd be making it a duvet day in the couch for you and a tent for him with a couple of chairs and a blanket. Picnic for lunch.
Hope you had a nice evening with friends need, fair play on the marshalling. I must get back to park run, maybe next Saturday will be my line in the sand. More tea for me, think I'm still dehydrated from gin'Friday

Morning Not glad you're still alive!😁 Thanks for the tent will use that one, but we are going to head out for a gentle walk round the woods -dog and boy both need outdoor exercise every day otherwise much craziness ensues! I slept really well and DS didn't wake last night so I actually got 9 hours sleep!!! Feel almost back to normal today but will still be taking it easy. In good news I got in the scales this morning and I'm down to 10st 5.75! My lowest the other week was 10st5.5, so virtually back to that which is great 😁 Menu today is:
B: smoked salmon, potato cake, fried egg (sunday treaty breakfast)
L: sharing a vegetable pizza with Ds
D: Roast chicken, broccoli, carrots, sugar snap peas.i'll do potatoes for DH but I'm going to load up on veg and avoid them
Have a lovely day all!

Not2bObvious · 12/02/2017 07:52

Ooh your day plan sounds lovely jonty, I'd love to get out for a walk. I should just bundle myself up and push through, I won't melt I'm sure. Rain is forecast this afternoon but I should be able to time a walk around that. I have cabin fever at this stage. 9 hours decent sleep is brilliant - and that's great news from the sad step, not so sad today eh? I'm going to ignore mine for the day as yesterday included Chinese and other salty/sugary muck, that's enough to send the numbers soaring. I think I'll go back to bed for a bit, try get another hour or 2 sleep. Totm quite draining this month, not helped by drinking all the drink on Friday of course

Thank you for the welcomes! Need not sure what my final goal is. I'm doing little goals so nothing seems too daunting. My current one is to lose 5lbs more and be in the healthy BMI category.

Which was totally messed up by going out for dinner and drinks last night Blush

Jonty your day sounds amazing! As does your weigh in!

Not2 I'm ignoring my yesterday as well. Dinner at an amazing Turkish restaurant who have never heard of the term portion control and then a bottle of wine or two has made it a day to ignore! Hope you get some more sleep!

I have become oddly addicted to rice cakes with marmite on. Works out at 40 calories per rice cake so they have become my new snack best friend. To the point my 4 year old pointed out that my breath smelt funny Blush May need to buy some sugar free polo's!

Needastrongone · 12/02/2017 12:15

Fantastic news on the weight Jonty And on feeling a touch better. I love fish pie, bit of a faff to make, but certainly worth it.

Tinker Good idea to break the weight loss into chucks. Doesn't sound like you have masses to lose anyway. Definitely the way to go. I love Middle Eastern food and cook it often, so the Turkish meal sounds amazing.

I am afraid we just get on with it whatever the weather and always have. Dogs to walk, pony to sort and also busy DC when they were little, much better for getting out in the fresh air everyday. Lots of Scottish holidays when they were little, so they are used to carrying on regardless Smile

Had a lovely night last night. Ate lots and drank a full bottle of wine, that's loads for me, I do have a glass every night but not much more. Feel my appetite is normal today again.

I got up early and had some brekkie, then ran 7.5 miles. Took an hour. It was freezing cold and sleeting/raining and very windy but those kind of runs can make you mentally tougher. And it's actually quite enjoyable in a strange sort of a way.

Breakfast - Bircher muesli and blueberries.
Lunch - Tuna sandwich, fruit with natural yogurt.
Dinner - Roast beef dinner.
Snack - Graze bar post run.

MumBod · 12/02/2017 13:36

Hello all!

I just fitted into my 'kept for sentimental reasons' jeans that I never thought I'd ever be able to wear again!!

What a feeling!!

Thank you for all the support and tips - I love this thread 😊

Well done to all losers, and keep going all strugglers - it's worth powering through Smile

Not2bObvious · 12/02/2017 14:09

That is a brilliant nsv mum, well done - no doubt it's just the start of many. I did a hiit with weights routine if around 25 mins and then a 30 minute run in the wind/sleet/possibly hailstones? It clocked in at around 4.5km which means I'm getting faster. Yeah! Showered are prepped the spuds for the late lunch. Starting to feel hungry but I'm going to hold off until 4 to eat. Plenty of fat reserves to fall back on here, cup of tea to warm me up. V good getting out for a run after last nights wine need, I'm sure it proper blew the cobwebs away.
My emoticon diet is going well as you'll all see, hehe

Well done MumBod, good stuff! Keep on going.

Go you Not, getting out in the horrible weather. Very sneaky, you were not even going to go out this morning. You really are getting bloody brilliant with the exercise routine. And a faster time. Faster mean fitter!

Having a quick cuppa, feel like a snooze tbh, but will do the same soon, and start prepping the food.

Not2bObvious · 12/02/2017 17:41

You crossed posts with me need, I had a change of heart around 8am, didn't get out to closer to 1pm but got it done. Good thing as well, the rain is now practically horizontal here now, strange as it sounds. Within reason I go out, weather like that no way, or icy weather, I won't risk a fall it'd be foolish.
Food eaten and a slice of cake for tea, all v nice. Will hopefully keep to 1200 for today to balance off the other carnage!

I know, it's awful isn't it? Poor poor DD had a riding lesson in it this afternoon. Then had to muck out and sort the pony. She's under duvet watching rugby with DH at present, while I now go and get DS from the gym.
