I know, it's awful isn't it? Poor poor DD had a riding lesson in it this afternoon. Then had to muck out and sort the pony. She's under duvet watching rugby with DH at present, while I now go and get DS from the gym.

You crossed posts with me need, I had a change of heart around 8am, didn't get out to closer to 1pm but got it done. Good thing as well, the rain is now practically horizontal here now, strange as it sounds. Within reason I go out, weather like that no way, or icy weather, I won't risk a fall it'd be foolish.
Food eaten and a slice of cake for tea, all v nice. Will hopefully keep to 1200 for today to balance off the other carnage!

Well done MumBod, good stuff! Keep on going.

Go you Not, getting out in the horrible weather. Very sneaky, you were not even going to go out this morning. You really are getting bloody brilliant with the exercise routine. And a faster time. Faster mean fitter!

Having a quick cuppa, feel like a snooze tbh, but will do the same soon, and start prepping the food.

That is a brilliant nsv mum, well done - no doubt it's just the start of many. I did a hiit with weights routine if around 25 mins and then a 30 minute run in the wind/sleet/possibly hailstones? It clocked in at around 4.5km which means I'm getting faster. Yeah! Showered are prepped the spuds for the late lunch. Starting to feel hungry but I'm going to hold off until 4 to eat. Plenty of fat reserves to fall back on here, cup of tea to warm me up. V good getting out for a run after last nights wine need, I'm sure it proper blew the cobwebs away.
My emoticon diet is going well as you'll all see, hehe

Hello all!

I just fitted into my 'kept for sentimental reasons' jeans that I never thought I'd ever be able to wear again!!

What a feeling!!

Thank you for all the support and tips - I love this thread 😊

Well done to all losers, and keep going all strugglers - it's worth powering through Smile

Fantastic news on the weight Jonty And on feeling a touch better. I love fish pie, bit of a faff to make, but certainly worth it.

Tinker Good idea to break the weight loss into chucks. Doesn't sound like you have masses to lose anyway. Definitely the way to go. I love Middle Eastern food and cook it often, so the Turkish meal sounds amazing.

I am afraid we just get on with it whatever the weather and always have. Dogs to walk, pony to sort and also busy DC when they were little, much better for getting out in the fresh air everyday. Lots of Scottish holidays when they were little, so they are used to carrying on regardless Smile

Had a lovely night last night. Ate lots and drank a full bottle of wine, that's loads for me, I do have a glass every night but not much more. Feel my appetite is normal today again.

I got up early and had some brekkie, then ran 7.5 miles. Took an hour. It was freezing cold and sleeting/raining and very windy but those kind of runs can make you mentally tougher. And it's actually quite enjoyable in a strange sort of a way.

Breakfast - Bircher muesli and blueberries.
Lunch - Tuna sandwich, fruit with natural yogurt.
Dinner - Roast beef dinner.
Snack - Graze bar post run.

Thank you for the welcomes! Need not sure what my final goal is. I'm doing little goals so nothing seems too daunting. My current one is to lose 5lbs more and be in the healthy BMI category.

Which was totally messed up by going out for dinner and drinks last night Blush

Jonty your day sounds amazing! As does your weigh in!

Not2 I'm ignoring my yesterday as well. Dinner at an amazing Turkish restaurant who have never heard of the term portion control and then a bottle of wine or two has made it a day to ignore! Hope you get some more sleep!

I have become oddly addicted to rice cakes with marmite on. Works out at 40 calories per rice cake so they have become my new snack best friend. To the point my 4 year old pointed out that my breath smelt funny Blush May need to buy some sugar free polo's!

Ooh your day plan sounds lovely jonty, I'd love to get out for a walk. I should just bundle myself up and push through, I won't melt I'm sure. Rain is forecast this afternoon but I should be able to time a walk around that. I have cabin fever at this stage. 9 hours decent sleep is brilliant - and that's great news from the sad step, not so sad today eh? I'm going to ignore mine for the day as yesterday included Chinese and other salty/sugary muck, that's enough to send the numbers soaring. I think I'll go back to bed for a bit, try get another hour or 2 sleep. Totm quite draining this month, not helped by drinking all the drink on Friday of course

Morning Not glad you're still alive!😁 Thanks for the tent will use that one, but we are going to head out for a gentle walk round the woods -dog and boy both need outdoor exercise every day otherwise much craziness ensues! I slept really well and DS didn't wake last night so I actually got 9 hours sleep!!! Feel almost back to normal today but will still be taking it easy. In good news I got in the scales this morning and I'm down to 10st 5.75! My lowest the other week was 10st5.5, so virtually back to that which is great 😁 Menu today is:
B: smoked salmon, potato cake, fried egg (sunday treaty breakfast)
L: sharing a vegetable pizza with Ds
D: Roast chicken, broccoli, carrots, sugar snap peas.i'll do potatoes for DH but I'm going to load up on veg and avoid them
Have a lovely day all!

Morning all, only alive again after bad hangover yesterday. The gins and wine floored but, not literally though, phew. Welcome xT, you've done great over the 4 weeks, I'm sure you'll continue to suceed.
Its bitter cold here & extremely windy which puts paid to outdoor activities. Going to do a slow cooker beef casserole/stew for late lunch, usual egg & toast for breakfast. Need to pull back for the next few days to rebalance after the excesses of Friday. Glad to hear you're feeling a bit better jonty, rest as much as you can though - those bouts of tiredness are there to tell you rest is still needed. Easy said then done with a little one I know, but I'd be making it a duvet day in the couch for you and a tent for him with a couple of chairs and a blanket. Picnic for lunch.
Hope you had a nice evening with friends need, fair play on the marshalling. I must get back to park run, maybe next Saturday will be my line in the sand. More tea for me, think I'm still dehydrated from gin'Friday

Welcome Tinker great progress so far - weight loss isn't linear, there are lots of ups, downs and plateaus along the way - it's figuring out your strategy for getting through the non-down bits that will make your weight loss successful (oh dear god that sounded really preachy sorry, just mean everyone here has ways of coping but everyone has to find their own Way because someone else's way won't necessarily work.
Need not surprised you need two lunches with the amount of exercise this week!
This afternoon I'm actually having periods of feeling almost well again - chest is still a bit tight and sore and I'm still getting tired easily but a lot better than yesterday (which was horrible in the end I felt really rough again). Bizarrely I've ended up eating close to target each of the last three days just because I haven't felt like eating more. I've also found myself really looking at the portion size of things and deciding how much I really want/is sensible and actually making really good decisions as a result - I think when I'm 'dieting' I put blind faith in the scales and don't really still train my eyes on how to judge the portion sizes. Something to work on... Made homemade fish pie tonight for me and DS (DH is away for the night on a boys weekend thing in Bristol) and he wolfed it down which is great (trying to get him to put on 3-4lbs since all his illnesses).
Not I have gin envy - I messed up Dry January because everyone was ill and I got stressed and drank wine, so started again on 28th Jan and haven't had a drink since (being really ill has helped!🙄). Didn't weigh this morning ending as DS woke up at 4am and wouldn't go back to sleep, will try to tomorrow to just check where I'm at.
Finally Bath keep going, and Daw I'm sorry you're sad, please keep checking in, we're all daft enough most days to put a smile on your face!

Welcome, Tinker, nice to have you on board. 15lbs is an amazing loss, over a stone. Brilliant stuff, well done. I do think it gets a bit harder to lose more as you progress. What do you want to lose overall?

Loving the gin Not. My kind of portion size for gin.

Hope you are okay today Daw I missed your post last night. Hope things are okay at home.

Poached pears and ice cream sounds wonderful Bath. Take it easy if you need to. I am useless at late nights.

Today I marshalled at the Park Run as it was our clubs turn. A bitter cold experience but inspiring to see how many shapes and sizes and speeds had got themselves out in the freezing cold rain at 9am to run or walk a hilly course. All organised by volunteers. Brilliant.

Inspired me to run myself today, I wasn't supposed to but couldn't resist the urge to do an easy 5 miles.

I am eating and eating and eating today. I've had 2 lunches. Starving. I'm really skinny though at the minute so I really don't care. Friends are coming over for take out pizza later, and lots of wine.

Tomorrow I will do 8/10 miles and be on the go with the pony. DH is going to cook a roast beef dinner. Nom nom.

Is it okay if I join in here?

I'm 5'9 and started at 13st 7lbs. Have been using MFP and Google fit step counter and am down 15lbs so far. But the weight loss is slowing down so I know I need other people to kick my butt so I don't think "fuck it" and eat all the things!

My MFP username is the same as here. I might be less likely to use all 1200 calories on ice cream if I know you can all see it Blush

Amazing run yesterday need. Hope you are taking it easy today - but by your standards that's probably still more activity than I'll do today!

How are you today Daw ? Hope you do something nice for YOU this weekend.

I'm v tired - another late night last night, friends came found for dinner. I did steak & chips, with poached pears & ice cream for desert. I enjoyed every little bit, and won't feel guilty about it rather. Will go for a big walk today, but actually think a rest-day is more in order.

I really don't think c 1500 cals is a fail dawg, honestly you'd still lose on that over time. I'm glad today was a better day at work, and now at least you've a break for a couple of days (assuming you don't work weekends?) Ooh a juicy burger, you're giving me ideas for my gastropub meal. And they have an extensive fancy gin menu...this could be interesting and expensive!
need nice big run done, that's great. I had in my mind I'd like to try get a quick jog this morning but I had to work a bit & also had houseguest so wasn't sure when they'd be up. And of course then I got my hair done, swish! No way this do is being scraped into a pony until I get a day or 2 out of my bouncy blow out. I only have good hair every 6 weeks & I drag it out as long as possible lol.
Getting hungry now, waiting for himself to get home so I can skedaddle... ooh here he is! I'm off!

Afternoon folk!!!

How the devil are you all on this Friday afternoon? Yippee, it's the weekend.

I've had a nice day off. 10 mile run with my friends this morning. Chores. Then a catch up dog walk with some other friends.

Food.
Breakfast - porridge and mango.
Lunch - Ham salad bagel. Fruit and yogurt.
Dinner - JO Balinese Chicken Curry and rice.
Snacks - energy gel/drink while running.
Post run - berry/nut mix and a Nak'd bar (I was going to the supermarket so these were in my bag!).
Wine.

What's on the cards for the weekend folk? We are having friends over Saturday for a pizza. I'm marshalling for Parkrun tomorrow. Riding lesson. Running. Of course.

Jumping on a bit early today. I had a quick peek from my phone early this morning and I got very teary reading all your messages, in a nice way IYKWIM. Thank you all Flowers.

Not your witterings were perfect - honestly. And actually that's what I need - to think this through and come up with solutions. I am ~kind of~ stuck in work but I am being hit from 2 sides now - gaslighting colleague and completely toxic manager. I have to keep convincing myself that I'm not the problem - even though I worry I am because I seem to be the common denominator. Trouble is I've been here for 10+ years so it's very scary/hard to move on, but it's getting to the stage that I'll have to think about cutting my losses soon if things don't improve. On the other side, I don't know where the relationship counselling is going yet. We're doing individual sessions again, and I like our counsellor, but progress is very slow and if anything, I'm getting angrier and more frustrated than I used to be. Maybe that's part of the process of healing - I don't know. And I think you're right - I just need to get a big cry out of my system and start again.

Anyway back to you - woohoo on the loss from last week Star!! Sorry about TOTM Sad but the hair pampering has hopefully cheered you up. Gastro pub sounds lovely tonight .

Need I think I've said this before, but crumpets are v hard to find here so you're a v evil lady for tempting me like that Wink. I forgot to say yesterday that I've done one set of progress photos too and I'm probably due another set around now. I was disappointed last time as my shape was still the same - just less chunky, but the difference must be amazing once you start getting properly toned up like you are.

Sesame the thing is, oaty biscuits aren't really a bad snack at all, so in the grand scheme of things you shouldn't feel guilty. It's funny though - that rings bells with me - I'm relieved when I've finished packets of biccies/choccies cos at least they're not in the house any more. Although my logic seems a bit flawed Grin.

Jonty you sound much better - I'm so glad. 0.75lb is absolutely zilch in real terms so it's great you're maintaining so well.

Bath thank you for the armour - I do need reminding and it does help Flowers. And Wine tasting sounds like great fun - glad you had a lovely time.

Willpower failed again last night - had 4 choccies and a G&T so finished on 1520 yesterday. Currently on plan for 1295 today, but if H mentions going out for a burger I won't say no. Otherwise my only risk is a few choccies tonight - won't need G&T tonight as work is ok today phew.

Please don't be too hard on yourself daw. When everything (everyone?) down on you, don't worry about the food. May just be a bad wave you need to ride. Don't forget the armour, but nourish what's in with good food, and self-love. You come across as such a lovely, warm, kind person. You deserve to be happier. Flowers.

Once they're gone, they're out of temptation's way sesame! But I guess to maintain so well as you are doing, you can't be the perpetual saint.

Whoo hoo not. brilliant. Really pleased you are now down to the 11 5. I didn't WI this morning, so can't say whether I am still stalking you with my weight. I doubt it. Had a do last night, wine tasting. I need not say any more, except I had a nice time, & got my money's worth!

Happy Friday y'all! Scales down to 11.5.6, so that's .6 down from last Friday's 11.6.2. Progress so I'm happy. Jonty how you feeling now? You sound brighter which is great. Thanks for the avocado tip, into the fridge they go. Totm has hit & the monthly backache with it, hot water bottle time. Getting my colour & cut down in a bit, then off to a gastro pub for tonight. I keep poring over the menu and it's pure indulgence, not at all calorie friendly. I'll just have to eat a smaller portion & keep a check on the vino.
Anyone doing anything nice for the weekend?

In my opinion, smoothies are the same as juice jonty, you have to be careful. When I lost weight first time round I gave up all sweet drinks, juice, smoothies, diet drinks etc. It makes a huge difference to weight loss. Eat whole pieces of fruit instead, or chop up over some yoghurt or cereal. It takes longer for your body to digest and is much more filling.

Report
JontyDoggle37 · 10/02/2017 08:09

Good point Sesame re fruit juice - I really need to get back to making my own smoothies from the whole fruit every morning - something to aim for when I'm feeling better (and I've drunk the 3 litres of juice I've bought!😁)
Avocado tip for all - leave on the side to ripen until just right then straight in the fridge. Halts the ripening process completely and they state in perfect state for ages (mine have stayed a week like that before).weight I up by 0.75lbs today but that's water retention from all the bread I ate yesterday. Not weighing myself for weight loss, more to see how I'm doing while I'm following more of a maintenance plan - so far so good!

Report
SesameSparkle · 10/02/2017 00:27

jonty sounds like some sensible thinking there. I've found checking carefully through my logs really helpful and modified quite a bit as a result. Eg I've cut about 100cals off my breakie, and I also used to eat a pack of oatcakes every day included in my snacks, what was an extra 200 I really didn't need. My advice is be careful with the juice though - although they'll include some vitamins, it's a very easy sugar rush, that isn't nearly as filling as the equivalent quantity of fresh fruit.

need to add to what everyone else said, I like having you around here too. You have great resolve and I'd love for some of that to rub off one day.... Also I do like a healthy debate sometimes..... Wink

daw sorry things are so tough. Flowers

Kitchen closed on 2478. I was doing really really well today.... right up until I reached for the last of the oaty biscuits after dinner. At least they're gone now. Hmm
