Carrying a bit of bloat this morning so up to 11.7.2 - but not too worried. I have a friends little ones birthday party today so that'll v likely be pizza & wine. I might try get out for a jog this morning before we get ready as it's a lovely morning. Bit sore but not critical and to be expected after 2 days of classes.
I'm aiming to do 3 classes a week need, and bigger aim would be to supplement that with a couple of jogs/runs - I think that would be helpful on lots of fronts. I seem to remember when I used to run regularly it had a great impact on my middle section. Could have been my imagination but since this is where I need to shift inches I'm willing to give it a shot! Can hardly harm😉
Your cinema experience sounds lovely, no doubt it was pricey - a normal cinema day out can be fairly expensive, add anything on and it goes mad.

Ive often wondered about the toast. I like porridge so i might have that instead. I find that the toast tends to fill me up at the time but im often really hungry by lunch.

I love avocado too!

Thanks for the tips.

TheoriginalLEM · 04/02/2017 08:53

7.4 stone?? Shock

Needastrongone · 04/02/2017 08:54

It's lovely here too Not. You are dong to well doing 3 classes a week. The extra 2 runs may come in the summer when the weather is better, but be proud of what you do already.

I think running is one of the 'best' fat burners, but don't quote me. But, like I say, you are doing brill anyway.

I agree, cinema is expensive. These tickets were £13.50 each, a glass of wine £9.50. But a lovely treat. It will be Cineworld next time. Grin

Not2bObvious · 04/02/2017 10:08

Porridge is a great alternative alright. For some reason it doesn't fill me up but then I've probably made it into one of my "diet" foods - making too small a portion, not enough milk etc. Certainly worth a try. I also find fruit makes me hungry (bit of a pattern for me eh?) that's why I suggested a few nuts mid morning to get you through til lunch. And glass of water when hunger pangs hit, wait 20 minutes to see if it's thirst rather than true hunger. Losing weights a bit like a military operation I reckon😉

OP posts:
TheoriginalLEM · 04/02/2017 10:16

fruit definitely makes me hungry.

Needastrongone · 04/02/2017 10:30

I'm 5ft, and run seriously. So my goals are different. Don't worry. I stick around now 'cos they are a lovely lot. However, that said, when I started in November I was 8.1, and had come down from 8.9 before using it.

Just keeps me focused on good diet really.

Smoothies? They don't work for me, but I know folk that swear by them.

Bagels seem to fill me rather than slices of bread.

Just thinking out loud LEM

Needastrongone · 04/02/2017 10:32

Gosh, that's nearly 1.5 stone isn't it? I hadn't realised.

Also, I have a tiny frame, and always have been small. Hitting mid 40's and a long term back injury scuppered that in the last 18 months. I wasn't liking how I looked or felt fitness-wise.

Endurance running too, helps to carry less weight.

Waffle waffle waffle.

Not2bObvious · 04/02/2017 11:27

I did it! I went for a run, around 5k in 36 minutes which is good enough for me. Lovely morning out there and I'm delighted I saw some of it. Brown bread & mature cheddar for breakfast, won't eat anything until the party now. In hindsight it's an early party so there may not be wine which would suit me down to the ground. Save on the cals & the early evening hangover😉

Hi I'm sorry I've been quiet all week. Lots going on at work but I've been doing a lot of thinking.
So, I've reached 11.9, officially 4 and a half stone from April. I knew at some point there would be a weight that I'd say enough and I thought it would be 11,7 but I think (I know) I'm there. I spent all day in hospital with DH yesterday (his ongoing auto-immune but he's ok) and had a bit of a shock when I saw myself in the glare of the bright toilet light. I'm definitely on the verge of looking like my mother (old).
So I'm going to try and maintain. I've never weighed this before. I'm in completely unknown territory. Even some of my size 12's are loose. I'm scared of what to eat, of putting it all back on. But I'm loving the fitness and being me again.
Your support on here has been amazing and I'd love to stay if you'll have me?

Not2bObvious · 04/02/2017 11:47

loli that is a truly amazing loss in around 9 months and I'm delighted you've hit a good goal weight. I think you're very wise not to push it anymore. Gaining weight and then losing puts a lot of strain on the body - I think that's why I've seen the situation where people lose a lot of weight but forget to stop and it can be so ageing. Don't you dare leave us!!! Maintenance stage will require discipline for a while and selfishly I need to know how it goes and even more selfishly I love your company & updates😘

I appear to have something in my eyes Not! What a characteristically lovely thing to say. I'm honestly not sure how to move from loosing weight to keeping it off but hey ho. I went to kettle bells class for the first time today, it was brutal! Out for DSS birthday tonight so I'll treat myself to a pudding.

Needastrongone · 04/02/2017 15:27

Don't you go anywhere Loli. I've hit maintenance too and struggling how to figure it out. We can do so together. Ouch for the kettle bells.

Having a very hungry day, so going with it and eating. I could sit and chomp all day quite cheerfully. Grin

Bathsheba3 · 04/02/2017 16:06

Absolutely huge congratulations Loli - for not just loosing the weight, but for the mental decisions too - 1. to go for it, 2. to stick with it, and now 3. to stop. 11 7 is a great weight !!! You sound so positive and energised, and that will be rubbing-off on all the family. Please do stick around Star

JontyDoggle37 · 04/02/2017 16:22

Loli pls stick around because a) you're lovely and b) it's inspiring for the rest of us to have people on the thread who've hit their goal. However, please don't judge yourself based on a toilet light in a hospital - if you're not already dead those things will make you look like it!!
I've decided to give myself a couple of days on maintenance or thereabouts. No signs of D&V yet but very shaky, achy and tired and my body seems to be telling me it just needs rest and good nutrition so im going with it over the weekend with the aim of being back at it Monday. Losing weight is supposed to be part of taking care of myself and if I lose sight of that goal in the effort to lose weight...

Bathsheba3 · 04/02/2017 18:01

Weekends are so hard. No sugar is meaning I'm snacking on nuts. Probably worse calorie-wise, but they are all gone now Wink. Glad you made it out for a run Not. I managed 6k brisk walk with hound. Will head out for a run tomorrow, to burn off some nuts!

Glad you are taking things easy Jonty. I'm currently reclining on sofa watching rugby. Hmmmm ....

Not2bObvious · 04/02/2017 20:37

I'm out 😉 Got my lovely dad to babysit so had a lovely meal (v well behaved I promise) Now on the g&t's 😁

Sugarandsalt · 04/02/2017 20:55

I'm feeling very unqualified to be here. Need serious kick up arse, keep slipping up.

Have had a really long day at work, just leaving now. On upside walked 26000 steps so far. However had some cake. And a few minstrels. And am starving as have not had dinner yet.

Remind me that I really do need to get on the wagon again!!!

Not2bObvious · 04/02/2017 22:09

You need to get home and get the feet up sugar, no arse licking required - you'll be back on track in good time, ''tis a marathon not a sprint

OP posts:
Not2bObvious · 04/02/2017 22:10

Arse kicking not arse licking - it's a good thing I left the pub, I nearly missed that autocorrect

OP posts:
Sugarandsalt · 04/02/2017 22:30

Thanks Not. These long weekends at work are seldom thankfully but long! Fingers crossed for no phone calls overnight and a quieter day tomorrow! Hope you had a great evening out!

JontyDoggle37 · 05/02/2017 07:01

Ha ha Not 😂😂😂 classic typo! Sugar weight loss isn't linear, it has to fit around life. I'm planning a lovely dog walk with the family today, some time with the horse and an 'out of the freezer'junk dinner that's no hassle. (And ignoring the fact I'll also have to spend some time doing my mothers financial paperwork, sigh). Going to spend some time looking at breakfast ideas today, egg on toast/avocado/porridge is getting a bit boring day after day

Not2bObvious · 05/02/2017 07:43

Morning all. Plugged my days food & drink into mfp and was delighted to come out with just under 1800! Considering I was out at a party, then out for dinner & drinks I call that a great day, miraculous in fact😉
Hmm breakfast alternatives, I'm an egg fiend too jonty but some mornings I go for a tablespoon of natural no sugar/no salt peanut butter on whole meal toast/bagel and I find that keeps me going pretty good as well. Or a kind of lazy bruschetta, chopped tomato and basil with brown bread (not sure in England how you'd describe it but like a wheaten loaf?) with real butter. Or cheese & brown bread. Breads the reoccurring theme you'll see, I think a slice gives enough carbs but not too much to set off the munchies - but it has to be brown. White has me reaching for seconds damn you delicious white carbs
Scales is up again today to 11.8.4 but I know it's just weekend wobbles. It should be back to 11.6'ish come Tuesday. Feeling quite unbothered by it, clothes looked & fitted well yesterday-loads of people I hadn't seen in a year commenting on how much weight I'd lost, so can't be doing too bad!
sugar I hope you get a restful day today and no call outs

SesameSparkle · 05/02/2017 13:31

loli that's a fantastic achievement! Well done you! And well done for making the decision to maintain. Please do continue to hang around here with us all. Do you have some sort of plan? I'm still trying to figure out my own tbh.

dawhead yay girl! 2st is totally awesome! Star

not that typo was the best, you properly had me pissing myself.... I'm so inspired by all that exercise that you're doing right now. I'm doing a lot of thinking at the moment but unfortunately not taking much action about how I might be able to up my own activity levels.

lem I reckon you could increase your calorie take by 150-200, especially for the purposes of adding in more fruit and veg into your diet. All the breakfast suggestions here are great too.

need I suspected you'd still be losing on your current calorie take. I know you're still in the healthy range, but do you have a lower limit in mind? I suppose the risk of getting that lean is if you were ever unwell for a period of time, your body wouldn't be carrying so much in the way of reserves to help pull you through.

sugar don't forget you are doing really well overall. Those treats won't make a dent, compared with all those steps you are doing right now.

jonty hope you had a nice day in the outdoors today. It's a bit overcast here today, but I'm hoping to have a little walk in a bit, as I'm skipping my run today to give my knees extra time to recover.

bath glad you enjoyed your date night. The fizz and the menu sounded lovely, and actually looked pretty restrained too. Star

mum glad you got to enjoy your chippy tea and stayed on plan! I want chips now

Today is my 300th day on mfp! Shock I haven't weighed myself for a few days been a bit bunged, but I'm averaging about 2100-2200 at the moment which is a little too high for comfort.

Needastrongone · 05/02/2017 13:38

Well done Not Folk noticing is always a good indicator that a significant amount of change has occurred. I'm the same as you, white bread doesn't fill me at all, but anything with grains/seed/wholemeal etc I almost 'need' once a day at least. Don't feel full otherwise.

Jonty I seem to alternate the same breakfasts too. Granola? Grapenuts? I have this bircher muesli from M&S which is lovely.

Keep going Sugar. It's only a blip as you've been snowed under.

Don't think I could cope with no sugar Bath. Fair play to you.

I did a 10k this morning. First road race in 7 years. I was really nervous!! But ended up with 45 minutes so pretty chuffed. Paced it wrong, and did the first 3 miles way too slow as I wasn't confident of sustaining speed anymore, then the last 3 really really fast!! 7th from 88 in my age group, but would have been 3rd had I paced it well. It's a line in the sand and a confidence boost.

Plus, lots of the ladies who run quite quickly have the same build as me, so it's nice to look around as see wee people same as me Grin

Breakfast - porridge and mango.
Lunch - tuna bagel, falafel, massive bowl of berries and yogurt.
Dinner - JO scruffy winter lasagne.
Snack - 2 chocolates, glass of wine.
