Morning all. jonty how's the little fella this morning? You must be exhausted, saw your thread on chat when I got up at 6am. Hope he's much better today.
Still 11.6.4 which I'm delighted with, means I'm truly down 1.6 from last Saturday. Finished yesterday around 1300 which is good for me. If I can get another couple of days at that level, I'll knock a bit more off my Fridays weigh in. Same breakfast of bacon, scrambled egg & toast - seems to keep me going nicely. Left over sfc in a wrap for lunch & small portion of curry with rice for dinner. Zumba tonight and I'm excited! Only today and tomorrow left to finish the drugs, so I'll be having 🍷on Friday evening but limiting myself to 1 bottle over the weekend with a couple of G&T's. That's the plan anywayHmm

Oh Jonty, feel for you, and your little boy. Hope he responds to meds v quickly, and you get home sooner rather than later. You did exactly what you needed to do. Even called paramedics out night before. I recall various stays in hospital for a whole host of stuff when mine were tots. Very exhausting, emotionally and otherwise. Makes you hold them much closer.

Good going Not - you sound in the zone. Long may it last. Running and zumba is contagious it seems! I've tried it once, and felt extremely self-conscious. I think my face muscles got the most workout from smiling at myself. Got your new workout gear to go?

So much for all my great advice sesame - I had great day food, pie filling OK small bite of pastry crust, and delicious it was and all went horribly wrong in the form of 3, yes 3, homemade scones, which my DM insisted I bring home the other day. if they weren't there, I wouldn't have eaten them. I was feeling a tad sorry for myself though, having fallen off the ladder after it collapsed I stupidly hadn't put it up right getting Xmas decorations in the loft. Thankfully I didn't fall over the banister, just on top of it. Oops. Was going to go running today, but think I may have to stick to power-walking, as a bit bruised.

BE STRONG TODAY EVERYONE Smile

Not2bObvious · 11/01/2017 08:23

bath you must have gotten such a fright! You were really lucky, it could have been much more serious. Scones? What scones😉 Well they're gone now and the world's a safer place. If we never trip, we never learn - today will be better I'm sure. Yeah, I'm strangely excited about the class, I love dancing and watching quite the disco queen in my day (polishes tiara)

OP posts:
Not2bObvious · 11/01/2017 08:23

was not watching - g'ah. I wouldn't make a proof reader that's for sure

Bath you poor thing. That hurts. I've done it! I'm very clumsy so DH does such things in our house. Scones are so hard to resist. I love them with loads of strawberry jam.

Not well done on the weight loss, that's great going. Need thanks for the heads up on the nut roast recipe, will take a look.

Jonty hope that you got some sleep and that your little boy is back to normal very soon.

I had a good nights sleep after my late dinner. DD woke for the toilet but went straight back to sleep between us instead of trying to engage in endless toddler conversation.

My scales are playing tricks and up and down but I think I'm the same as yesterday which is fine by me. At a course today, complete with biscuits and probably sandwiches for lunch. I may try to escape and walk to shop for a calorie controlled lunch instead. Nowhere to keep my salad cold so didn't bring one in. Should be home early at least. If DH gets home early I'll go for a run; if not I'll do a HIIT workout once DD goes to bed.

Food: had a big breakfast- kale and feta omelette with 2 turkey rashers. (320cals)
Lunch- I'll have to pick something up
Dinner- planning an aubergine and sweet potato curry (only 300cals- in case lunch ends up high calorie!).

I'll get some fruit to munch on instead of biscuits at break times.

SesameSparkle · 11/01/2017 12:41

jonty Hope your wee boy gets well soon. Flowers This is definitely not the time to worry about the diet.

not thanks. Well done for maintaining that loss. Enjoy the zumba!

loli thanks, yes it the new me is still very much a novelty and see something I’m really not used to in the mirror. It’s really good to have the support of others who get this.

need keep up the good work! Star

sugar thanks, it’s learning how to be mindful that is tricky. When I’m on a course/conference with lunch provided I usually eat 4 sandwich triangles, which I log onto mfp as m&s sandwich platter or similar (allowing something like 470cals). I then usually bring in my own piece of fruit or nuts for something to nosh when the others are tucking into biscuits. I do sometimes feel a bit cheated however that I get so little for so many calories, but it’s the best way I’ve found to manage the day.

bath Crikey, you have had a shock with your fall. Sad Take it easy, especially with the bruising. It’s funny how food wise we swapped places yesterday. Homemade scones sound delicious, but next time I think you will have to save me one…. Wink.

Yesterday was a lot more successful. I managed to avoid the crisps which are still out on the office sabotage table. I did however have 2 roses chocs, which I popped into my pocket as I left the office – but this was my own choice to do this, and I’d planned this for the end of the day deliberately so that I couldn’t go back for more. They didn’t actually taste that nice in the end to be honest – but I’m happy to put that down to learning and refining my own maintenance choices. Then when I got home I went for a midweek run. It was my first evening run in bloody ages – certainly since we started getting dark evenings - so I’m really proud of myself for going out. I’m hoping I will be able to make a pattern of it – which is why I’m declaring it here! Wink I ended the day on 2,042, not counting the exercise. And I’m actually happy with that as a maintenance day.

Not2bObvious · 11/01/2017 14:39

Well done on avoiding the table of shame sesame, and hats off for the midweek night run. I think taking the 2 roses as a compromise was a good one, they really aren't that nice are they? It's more the thought of them appeals, the reality is gloopy sugary nothingness. I'm doing pretty good today (so far!) Goimg to do some mindful colouring this afternoon to keep my mitts out of the fridge, then my curry for dinner. Think I'll wear my new gear tonight, give myself a lift😉

Grrrr. Just eaten a bar of Green & Black chocolate. I found it hiding from DH yesterday when I was putting away the tall vase. Well, it's well and truly hidden now. Does the fact it was 70% cocoa, and so not as nice as dairy milk help? Or that it was chocolate and not the 4 remaining scones? Dry btw, I couldn't even be bothered to put jam in them last night.

Sorry, realise this is very bad talk for a weight-loss thread. I will be more determined from now on. Oh, after I've been and bought 24 Krispy Kreme donuts for my DS to take to school for his birthday ....

Bathsheba3 · 11/01/2017 14:46

just remembered TOTM. phew. perhaps not such a piglet after all clutching at straws

Sugarandsalt · 11/01/2017 14:58

Bath we all have times when we slip up. With me I had a month, December! I'm now almost back to pre December weight so it's not the end of the world.

I do think dark chocolate is better- not calorie wise but in terms of provoking a further binge definitely.

Well done Sesame! 2 roses is very mindful in my book!

Not enjoy your new gear. I always feel better about exercise in new clothes!

Not2bObvious · 11/01/2017 15:37

Oh crap, I'm due totm this week too. That's usually a bingefest of epic proportions😩 The 70% chocolate is pretty much like veg...

JontyDoggle37 · 11/01/2017 18:10

Evening all. Thank you everyone for your thoughts and well wishes. HE'S HOME!!!😁😁😁😁 he woke up this morning and started eating everything in sight and keeping it down - although weirdly he wouldn't eat the weetabix and milk offered until I spread jam on the top of it instead of on his toast - not something I've ever done before for him so god knows where that came from! He has antibiotics to finish at home, then he's going onto a special preventative course of antibiotics for two months to help him get through winter without being seriously ill again. Relief is huge. And boy am I looking forward to my bed tonight Grin. Diet starts again tomorrow.
bath so glad you weren't more seriously hurt
sesame well done on avoiding the sabotage spread!

Not2bObvious · 11/01/2017 18:47

That is fantastic news jonty delighted for you guys. Hope you get a great nights rest. On consideration decided to wait another few days for exercise, tired this afternoon and ears & throat a bit achy. Maybe it's the fear of exercise lol! Looking forward to watching no offence later, relaxing now

OP posts:
Lolimax · 11/01/2017 19:51

Lovely news *
Jonty!

Sugarandsalt · 11/01/2017 21:06

That's great news Jonty! I hope you get some well deserved rest now.

Not no harm resting until you are properly better. Is it operation transformation season at home? Maybe watch that to motivate yourself!

I've had a good day. Had a salad and fruit for lunch and avoided the biscuits and sandwiches at my course (polishes halo). 14000 steps, and a HIIT workout. 1250cals in.

Needastrongone · 11/01/2017 21:52

Ah, brilliant news Jonty. They do bounce back so quickly don't they? Make sure you get your rest now.

Great calories count Sugar, and steps.

Never mind on the exercise Not, there's always the next time. The clothes and class can wait until you feel okay again.

Oh Bath, you poor thing. I bet you are sore. Hope you are okay. It's easily done though. I really love dark chocolate, it's my thing. It's very good for you, you know. Smile

Sesame Brill stuff on the evening run. The light nights are around the corner you know.

I've had an awfully shit day. I won't go into the details. It's been so busy too that I'm a bit tired. Worked all day. Grabbed dogs and walked 3 miles. Straight to DD's parents evening. Home. Changed. Down to the club to run 10 miles.

DH cooked me an omelette and salad when I got home. I've eaten okay, but not enough and have 1000 deficit.

PT has changed my time to 9.30am. Should be fun. Grin

Needastrongone · 11/01/2017 21:53

35,000k steps. Smile

JontyDoggle37 · 11/01/2017 22:00

Need I've an idea - don't worry about your deficits, i'm very happy to allocate any extra calories I've eaten to you, in the name of helping a fellow MFP-er!😁😁😁

Bathsheba3 · 11/01/2017 22:23

You lot are funny Gin. Yes, am sore. Bruised right under my LH bum-cheek (but of course no obvious sign as well - padded) and LH shoulder. But OK. Wine for medicinal purposes.

Very sorry you had a bad day Need. Hope the clouds lift tomorrow.

Glad you had a good day Sugar! And hope you had a lovely - and guilt-free - relax Not. You'll get to Zumba when you're better. Good to listen to your body, & not to push things.

So relieved you are home and your DS is on the mend Jonty. Sleep well!

Needastrongone · 11/01/2017 22:25

Deal Jonty. Grin.

I'm liking Bath's Gin. Clearly on the mind....

Sugarandsalt · 11/01/2017 22:50

You lot make me want to try drinking gin again! I don't like tonic though. What else could I do with it?

Lolimax · 11/01/2017 23:06

Sloe gin and bitter lemon is stunning!

Not2bObvious · 12/01/2017 07:50

Morning all. After sacking off my class I was v bold and had 2 small wines, plus a g&t😳 And a shed load of celebrations...and 2 packs of corn crisps. The shame😩 Apart from that I was good as gold!?!? Just a bump, back on it today & the scales still on 11.6.4 so no immediate damage done. I have a big family occasion 8 weeks from today and I've ordered a size 10 dress that will take me prisoners so I've a solid goal ahead. A pound a week would be great, 1.5 would be ideal, 2 would be the dream.
loli I like the sound of gin & bitter lemon, although I don't think I've seen sloe gin for sale - is that something people make themselves? It brings to mind Jilly Cooper for some reason. Hope you have a better day today need, mind yourself & fuel up, you of all people need to keep the engines going. 35,000 steps, you're my hero!

OP posts:
Sugarandsalt · 12/01/2017 09:35

Sloe gin sounds lovely, I've never heard of it. I seldom drink buI love nice white wine from time to time, just adds a lot of calories.

My scales were taunting me today- 1/2lb up. Possibly bloating from the large veg curry I had last night! I'm in need of an occasion outfit to motivate me but seeing nothing I like. Anyone have any suggestions to share? Regardless of my weight I have disproportionately large thighs and bum which need hiding !

JontyDoggle37 · 12/01/2017 10:22

Sugar Coast are always good for an occasion outfit.
Feeling fairly rough today (knackered and I've got the cold virus thing DS had, so far without the puking). On track though and have planned out the days food. Dinner is going to be a scotch egg, as we've got a delivery coming from the Scotch Egg Company - they're enormous so one will do me an easy dinner, which is good as DH is out at a gig tonight. I've taken the day off sick as I feel rubbish, and have kept DS home from nursery so he has a relaxing day as well. Might try making some biscuits with him later.
