The last thread inspired us to shift the pounds so let's kick October's butt too!

Hello, I wonder if it would be ok for me join?

I am late 20's and currently weigh 12 stone I'm looking to get back down to my pre pregnancy weight of 10 & 1/2 stone. So 7lb this month would be fab!
I'm not cutting out any food or doing a certain diet.

Today I had
Porridge for breakfast around 248 calories and a banana around 109 calories
Lunch was a chicken salad sandwich, 260 calories and a bag of mini Oreo with DC so 120 calories
Dinner will be a big bowl of veg soup. 480 calories
Late evening I'll have 2 rich tea and a hot chocolate

Frestelli · 02/10/2016 16:59

Cheers Pony , Ginger I survived and went to bed not long after! Sticking to three square meals again today again, it's going well. I feel like something has clicked and I am looking at food in a much, much different way. It's like an actual load has been lifted (just not off my waistline yet Grin )

Hope everyone is having a successful weekend and making kind, wise choices for their slimmer futures!

I tried to up my steps today by going for a walk with dd2 scooting along with me. Unfortunately, when dd decided she'd had enough of scooting, I pulled the scooter with the hand wearing my fitbit so half my steps didn't count:( I do realise that I've still done the steps even if the fitbit didn't count them, but now I still have to do another 1000 steps before bedtime to hit my 10,000 step target.

Redcliff · 02/10/2016 18:14

I would love to join in. I managed to get to around 11 stones (we go kilos so have done a rough conversion) with 10.5 bring the goal but have crept up to 11.5 recently. Today took kids to play centre so lots of running round after them but also had cake at the cafe so not so good there. Evening snaking is my downfall.

SevenNationArmy · 02/10/2016 18:41

Hi, hope I can join! I'd love to lose a few lbs in October, haven't had a great start as been drinking all weekend but have got back on it today with a big long walk and some non-alcoholic drinks! Weighed today at 9st4, would love to be 8st7 eventually (only 5 foot tall so not unrealistic)!

Rshard · 02/10/2016 21:16

Have decided to have a go at using mfp alongside WW and have linked my Fitbit to it. It seems to be telling me not to log food or exercise on my Fitbit, only on mfp. Is that right? I don't log food on the Fitbit anyway but I like logging walks and runs . Worried I might have fallen out with mfp already!

FitbitAddict · 02/10/2016 21:48

Hi count me in too please. I got back from hols on 13 August and have gained 2kg since then, and that's 4.5kg (about 10lbs) heavier than I was before I went away Sad

I finished my MA a few weeks later and exercise had to take a back seat, then term started and the workload has been manic (primary teacher) so still haven't got back in the groove. We are doing Beat the Street at school so that's helping with my step count but the chocolate intake is definitely counteracting that! I'm skipping breakfast and working through lunch and then stopping by the biscuit tin each time I visit the staffroom to get a drink or go to the loo. It's time to get a grip and start eating properly.

I'm vegetarian with egg and soya intolerance so I tend to cook from scratch or not bother and just eat junk so I don't bother with WW or similar as the meal plans don't work. Eating the right food and running and walking more will hopefully be enough to move my weight in the right direction with the support of you lovely lot on here Smile

BitOutOfPractice · 02/10/2016 22:45

Oh god I need you lot.

I have Completely. Lost. The. Plot. Whole weekend of parting and eating crap (McDonald's to cure my hangover this morning. But no excuse for the KFC yesterday)

I need a trip to the grip shop!

Tomorrow is a new day BOOP. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off and start again. You can do it, we all have off days.

I may possibly have eaten an entire box of Thornton's chocolates and 3 packets of crisps this weekend, but tomorrow will be better. It's not about 1 blip running it all, it's about letting go of the blip and continuing with the good work you've already done.

ChickenVindaloo · 02/10/2016 23:06

Yes, I read that it's not what you do once a month or whatever that makes you fat or thin. It's about what you consistently do day in and day out.

Ie you won't be fat in 10years because you ate a box of chocolates. You might, however, be fat if you eat a couple of extra biscuits every day...

ponygirlcurtis · 02/10/2016 23:08

Wot MsMermaid said, BOOP. It's not going to derail things if you don't let it.

Rshard that does sound a bit confusing. I do it the other way, recording actual workouts on my Fitbit when I am doing them but other than swimming I don't log exercise on MFP. MFP adjusts my calories and tells me when I have earned extra through activity, whether a logged Fitbit workout or just extra calories burned eg through extra steps. Does that make sense?

QuimReaper · 02/10/2016 23:35

HURRAH! Kinky new thread! Grin

Rshard · 03/10/2016 06:31

Thanks pony I'm going to give it a go I think.

We all slip off the wagon boop, all that matters is that climb back on it!

chrispenrallt1 · 03/10/2016 06:45

Yes I slipped yesterday, had planned to eat fruit whilst everyone else had ice cream, DH bought us all one despite me saying no so down the throat it went! Still I've just come back from running in dark with the dog, so it's all good really. Monday is a good day for me to start the planning of meals and promising myself to run longer!

Bunnyjo · 03/10/2016 07:55

Despite yesterday being my birthday, I have stayed on the wagon... well, with the exception of the 7 fruit pastilles I treated myself to Halo Grin

Happy to report a 1lb loss since Friday.

Rshard, I log all my food and drink intake in MFP and Fitbit automatically records any physical activity.

Helloheyhi · 03/10/2016 08:07

Happy belated birthday Bunny Flowers

BOOP if it makes you feel better, I also had a crap weekend and ate blocks and blocks of cheese as my son was poorly and wanted to cuddled all the time, difficult to move to make any sort of balanced meals etc. Hopped on the scale this morning and gone up 1kg. Sigh. Lets draw a line and restart today huh?
Quim was wondering where you were at, how are you getting on? BOOP made us all giggle with her kink! Grin

BitOutOfPractice · 03/10/2016 08:23

Nothing wrong with a bit of kink!!Wink

I have my determined face on. Come on Monday, bring it on!

Thanks bunny I'm going to give a whirl for October I think. Doing it a bit different will get me out of a rut of complacency.

Hope DS is feeling better soon hello

plumstone · 03/10/2016 09:11

Ok I'm in!!! Lost 2 stone this year from 12.7 to 10.7 at the end of July and stood on the scales this morning and up to 11 - The goal is 9.10 for the 16th December when I am planning to go on a "sun holiday" not planning a bikini or anything daft -- but a chic black halter neck on piece would be amazing!

For the last two weeks I have been walking to work each day - which means 8000 steps in by 8:30am and have clocked an average of 11,000 a day for the last fortnight - need to maintain this!

Off to see family at the end of October so back to 10.7 for then is the goal - nothing much on socially so aiming to stop to the booze for the foreseeable - have also cooked and frozen all my meals between now and Friday - recalling hoping to stay away from the scales till Friday and then - if there is a drop the Mac counter is calling me with a shiny new burgundy lipstick for autumn!!!! Good luck everyone xoxo

DoinItFine · 03/10/2016 09:30

Followed the kink and found you all.

Are we giving stats on this one?

I'm 5'5" and 9st 11lbs, looking to lose half a stone this month.

Things had been mostly going well, but had a shocker of a weekend. Did some running, but not enough to justify what I ate/drank.

Some very impressive losses from the Offtober newbies Smile

Keep it up now. This is a joint effort and we will be taking credit for your diminution Grin

BitOutOfPractice · 03/10/2016 09:58

Plum it sounds like you've got it all covered. Good luck.

I've had bacon egg and mushrooms for breakfast. Now I'm at the docs waiting to have a big scary injection and feeling a bit sick!

plumstone · 03/10/2016 10:24

Cheers Bit - the problem is I start Monday and its all good, Tuesday is again all good - by Wednesday I feel bored and by Thursday.... well I work near many lovely food shops and they call me personally so I need to reciprocate the love and buy stuff - this week however is going to be the week!!!!!

For statistic purposes I am 5"6" and 11st. on the nose this morning.

Breakfast - two homemade veggie carb free muffins and a banana

Helloheyhi · 03/10/2016 10:52

Thanks Rshard we are taking him to the doctor this afternoon.

QuimReaper · 03/10/2016 11:51

Oooh, so many lovely new faces I can't even greet you all! But welcome welcome!

Hello I'm here Grin Only crept down a bit last month and then stuck fast, but am still feeling positive. I'm being a bridesmaid on Saturday and even though my dress is not very revealing and possibly a tad loose on me, I'm using it as a goal and going to go really hard this week!

I went for an Osteopath appointment last Thurs for a naggy pain in my back, and her practice is right beside the swimming pool so I was all gee'd up for a swim but she said I wasn't allowed for 24hrs Sad This means I haven't swum for a week and am worried that when I go this evening I'll have slid back badly!

BOOP suffice it to say... same here. And we went to MIL's for lunch yesterday for her birthday, and she had Prosecco for the occasion and she made a delicious pile of food and an apple pie AND my own mum had brought cheese and crackers and made a cake! Seemed rude not to partake of all three Grin

QuimReaper · 03/10/2016 11:53

Hello sorry, overlooked the bit about your son. Is he feeling any better? Flowers
