The last thread inspired us to shift the pounds so let's kick October's butt too!

I think your post was reported because it's against guidelines, rather than just people not liking it.

ponygirlcurtis · 04/10/2016 07:42

Fab swimming Quim!

Hello how's your wee one doing?

Raining here so am going to be marching in front of the TV tonight if I want to get to my step goal.

FannyDaggers · 04/10/2016 07:59

Hi myjsgloabal it was me who reported it, nothing personal but it's against the talk guidelines. Have a good day Smile

ponygirlcurtis · 04/10/2016 08:28

Oh poor wee sausage, Hello. Hope he's feeling better soon. You must be shattered too.

DoinItFine · 04/10/2016 09:10

Hi everyone :)

Hope the little fella is starting to improve, Hello

Jakers, Quim, 44 lengths! That's amazing. I did a lot of swimming over the weekend. God I love to swim. Prefer outdoors though. Thinking of joining/starting an open water swimming group. Skins ideally.

Sounds like lots of good days yesterday. Mine was OK apart from the 3 pints I had at the pub.

IBelieveTheEarthIsFlat · 04/10/2016 09:21

Can I join too? Need to fit in my fav dress by Christmas. Want to lose a stone but half a stone in October would be great.

plumstone · 04/10/2016 09:41

Morning All, Quim - I know but they are all quite odd about losing weight - and when I lost the two stone - were a bit judgy pants about it!!!! I ignore it! 44 lengths - i bow at your awesomeness Grin

Yesterday finished at a 12,000 steps, and being slightly "scale obsessive" cheekily weighed in this morning - I only record on a Friday but weigh in Monday (assess the weekend damage) Wednesday (ensure damage limitation is being dealt with) and Friday (official weigh in day)!!

10.12 this morning, if I can stick with this till Friday will be very happy - work event tonight so will stick to water and try and leave prior to the canapés being circulated!!! Am on an eating window of 8am - 6pm today due to event! Have a great day everyone

Helloheyhi · 04/10/2016 09:53

Thanks pony, DIT fingers crossed he gets better soon. Exhausted but soldering on.
Quim that's fantastic, seems like the break did you good and improved your performance. 4 lengths off a mile, how good is that huh. Also hope the swimming is helping with the back pain?
Pony that's brilliant that you managed to stay away from the cakes & good feeling too that you achieved your goal for the day. Good start to the month I'll say!
DIT hope you had a good time in the pub!
BOOP get back on the wagon NOW missus! Grin
Plum sounds like you are well organised for the day, is 12k steps something like 6 miles? That's fantastic.

Welcome to all newcomers and good luck everyone for today!

plumstone · 04/10/2016 10:04

Hello - I stand corrected 12000 is the average over the last week, yesterday it would appear is 11500, which is 4.6 miles - very scary when I see it in miles, I used to travel 7 on a bus to school and the concept of walking even half of that is frightening, however the walk to work is through the middle of a city so lots to look at!!

raisedbyguineapigs · 04/10/2016 10:09

I'm in! Watched someone's leg being sawed off yesterday because of diabetes, which literally my entire immediate family suffers from, so I need to hold it off. I'm trying low carb and no sugar. I did it before and lost weight. I was 12st8 this morning and 7lb by the end of october would be good!

Helloheyhi · 04/10/2016 10:10

Plum that's still a huge achievement. I wager that you will be hitting 15k by the end of this month!

Helloheyhi · 04/10/2016 10:20

raised did you watch diabetes the silent killer on bbc 1 last night? I only managed half and recorded it to watch sometime today. It was awful to watch. Diabetes is also my main aim to get the weight off as it runs in my family and I had GD and was borderline after having my son. Actually what scared me the most was watching my newly born child having the blood test done as he was born with high sugars. I was traumatised that I did this to him. Thankfully he was okay. Anyway this is what pushed me to lose the weight and last week I had a blood test done and I am no longer pre diabetic. I have also lost 24kg since April. I started at 1 stone heavier than you. If I can do it, so can you! Sorry for the long story. You can do it, slowly, consistently and not accepting defeat when you slip up.

chrispenrallt1 · 04/10/2016 10:36

Hi Plumstone
I love your weighing routine. I thought it was only me !

NightWanderer · 04/10/2016 10:39

My grandfather lost a leg due to diabetes, my mum also has diabetes and just can't quit sugar. I'm also at risk, but really anyone can quit/cut down if they want to, you just have to find the will power to say no.

Will try and find the time to fill out MFP today.

BitOutOfPractice · 04/10/2016 10:53

Heart failure caused by diabetes was what carried off my lovely dad although in fairness his was Type 1. It does run in my mom's family though so I am very nervous of it

I am so fed up. Did I mention my frozen shoulder forty seven times already? I had a cortisone injection yesterday and I think it feels worse than ever. Hardly slept a wink. Plus the codeine I'm taking has made me constipated. Which is also making me misreable. Someone come and slap me with a low calorie wet fish

Frestelli, the No S Diet sounds great! I had a read of the thread you linked and the website and it sounds perfect. I need something long-term and sustainable - and I love the idea of 'eating like a thin person'!

DH is keen to start with 5:2 to kickstart a bit of losing, so the plan is to do 5:2 for a few weeks and then do the No S Diet after that for slow and sustainable loss. My sister's getting married in May and I am determined to be 9 stone by then, but I know I just cheat and binge after a few weeks on low-carb or BSD, or overeat on the 5 days with 5:2 - I can keep it up for a few weeks and then it all goes to pot! But I have a pair of size 10 culottes I want to fit into as soon as possible.
