The last thread inspired us to shift the pounds so let's kick October's butt too!

Hey cheese, I started at 35,35 and wanted to get sub 30 which I managed at the end of August. My local parkrun has pacers on the first Saturday of the month and that was when I did it! Will miss the paced session tomorrow unfortunately. Have you been a parkrun tourist yet? I did one in Weymouth. Also do junior parkrun with my DD, mostly nag her round tbh

Cheesetoastieyum · 30/09/2016 20:58

Ah well done! Hopefully I won't be much longer - our Parkrun has two hills - a long gradual incline followed by a short sharp shock which really affects my time so I have taken up hill running to overcome! Have been a tourist but it was even more hilly which was a nightmare!!Grin

ASISAYNOTASIDO · 01/10/2016 01:57

Can I jump in too - really need a support/buddy group to get cracking. 15 stone 12 pounds. Started WildFit with my sister - the first week you change nothing but drink loads of water - I thinking went too far and have eaten like a fool so need to reign it in s but.

Dizzywizz · 01/10/2016 06:07

Thanks Ginger, I have done that now!

TaffyandTeenyTaffy · 01/10/2016 06:31

Im in again - and will try and post a bit this month!!
I did manage to lose 4lbs in September bringing me to 11st6lb - so only 6lb away from my original goal of 11 stone.... will review that if/when I get there.

Its very slow with me but I have now lost 40lbs (equivalent to 20% of my starting weight weight Grin) since Feb 2015 with WW.

Good luck everyone - hope it's a good month for us all!

Rshard · 01/10/2016 08:10

cheese?you'll do it. Hills are a nightmare, I hate them but unfortunately my village is hilly so can't avoid them!

Welcome back taffy, I'm doing WW too and have lost 42.5 so we are very similar!

Rshard · 01/10/2016 08:10

Actually taffy,we currently weigh the same too!

Cheesetoastieyum · 01/10/2016 08:14

Morning all! Did an 'official' weigh in today and was 150.2lb so my plateau is over thankfully - my new revised target is 143lb. Hope everyone has a lovely day - Taffy slow and steady is the best way (I keep telling
Myself) as less likely to have loose skin and more likely to embed new habits! Smile

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 01/10/2016 08:24

There are some absolutely brilliant losses on this thread!

Please may I join? I have somehow managed to balloon up a stone since I got back from holiday in June. I am now as heavy as I was immediately after DS was born Sad. I am going to try a bit of a mix between low-carb and 5:2 and food tracking on MFP. Plus lots of exercise.

Starting weight: 11 stone 2 .

Goal: 9 stone.

Height: 5'2".

ponygirlcurtis · 01/10/2016 08:36

Morning everyone. Happy October!

My plan for the month is to drink at least 2l of water not wine a day, get back to fully logging on MFP and aim for 7.5k steps every day.

Cheesetoastie I enjoy running too although I only get the chance once or twice a month. My running style is like my weight loss - sloooow! Grin It takes me a good 45mins to do 5k, walking would be faster!

I have a fitbit and never log my food!
Have tried running loved it but can't do it as I have 2 small children altho I do have a xtrainer I try to use! What are all your plans? How you going to do it? I need help!

MsHeffalump · 01/10/2016 10:49

Hello again, everyone. It would appear my period totally got the better of me again... But I hit the scales this morning and my total loss for August was 3.5lbs. Better than a gain! Plan for the month: don't let period descend into a fortnight of chocolate. I'm due on again around the 16th, so if I suddenly disappear, someone please throw things at me!

Cheesetoastieyum · 01/10/2016 10:50

Hi chocoholic I don't log anything other than weight loss either. I basically looked long at hard at what I ate - really didn't want to do a 'diet' as I knew it would end and I would regain weight. So I still eat what we all eat but smaller portions and try to avoid carbs in the evening. I have given up drinking which was more to help my running as I just couldn't do it after a drink the previous night. These changes and only eating when actually hungry mean I have gone from 220lb down to 150lb. You can definitely do it - I joined a running club which has helped tremendously - my husband and I take it in turns to exercise (2 kids aged 3 and 5). It just takes a bit of planning!Smile

BitOutOfPractice · 01/10/2016 11:29

Hello everyone. Lovely to see new faces

ponygirlcurtis · 01/10/2016 12:15

MsH, that's way better than a gain, 3.5lbs in a month is excellent going, you should be proud of yourself. I only lost 1lb in September!

choco maybe you could log everything for a few days to get an idea of whether you are creating a calorie deficit and if so how much of one. But overall I do what Cheesetoastie does, I have just cut out carbs and sugar (as much as I can, anyway).

GingerAndTheBiscuits · 01/10/2016 12:38

Okay, although the scales were down this morning I'm going to go by my last September weigh in which was: 12st10 (I'm about 5ft7)

Goal for end of October is to be approaching 12st. We have lots of birthdays, christening and a wedding this month though so I'm going to call anything around 12.5st by the end of the month a victory!

Soozikinzi · 01/10/2016 12:46

Can I join too am about 12 stone and 5 foot 3 but I have a problem with weighing myself I really hate it.Is there another way to track progress? I have been doing Charlotte Crosby fitness DVDs which I like and I've joined Rosemary Conley online £17 for 3 months .

Helloheyhi · 01/10/2016 13:09

Soo photographs, clothes, tape measure to keep measurements, body fat callipers, fitness PRs, blood work if you are diabetic etc. can all be used as an indication of progress?

Nice to see new people. My goal is to lose 5 pounds this month. Good luck to us all!

chocoholic89 · 01/10/2016 13:23

Yeah I am goin to aim about 20 mins on my trainer a day with some sit ups ect for a bit so hoping it doesn't feel like such a chore! I am quite active everyday I do a lot of walking as I only have access to a car at weekend. I'm going to buy lots of fruit so I have healthy snacks. Does anyone know a reasonable weight to aim for it says on the slip from the weight machime that my ideal weight is 10 stone Confused that seems a long way off.

Frestelli · 01/10/2016 13:28

Hmmm, so I was getting in the shower mid morning, after eating a decent breakfast and thought sod it, I'll jump on the scale and lo and behold it read 12st 8 1/2 lbs. Confused I was definitely 12st 13 the other day!

I'll take it. Grin

Very happy I'm starting October at that weight, I'm determined to never go back to the 13!

getmeachairwitharms · 01/10/2016 13:38

Hi all. I lurked for September having REALLY enjoyed pretty much the whole of August eating/drinking/holidaying. I went down from 10 7.75 to 9 11.25 in Sept but have gone back up 10 1.5 -all period bloat Shock (not excess eating as I am logging everything) So I probably lost 6lbs in September. My happy goal is 9 7 so it would be great to get nearer to it in Offtober.

I've also cut out most alcohol (most unusual) but I have really lost my taste for it ConfusedConfusedConfusedI'm not sure how long that will last!

Some great long term losses going on.

I am also a runner but have had this week off owing to a non-cooperative body and being annoyingly unwell Envy

Sorry for the ramble.

CadiM · 01/10/2016 15:48

Hello! May I join in too?
I've hit 13st this morning, having lurked in the 12st range all this year. I'd like to get back down to 11st 7lb (I've a fairly solid frame and felt and looked good at that weight). Aiming for Mediterranean style food and 5:2.
Good luck to us all Smile

chrispenrallt1 · 01/10/2016 15:56

Can I join? July 2015 my weight was 18 stone on the nose. I bought a fit bit and started logging my food on MFP. Today my weight is 10 stone 12 . I would really like to make my goal of 9.13 by Christmas . I'm 5.4 and I run 5 days a week early morning with my dog.
