The last thread inspired us to shift the pounds so let's kick October's butt too!

I was 13st on the nose this morning. I think I am slightly constipated though (sorry!) as have been about 12st 12 or 13 this week.

I graph my weight on fitbit so I can see it does go up and down a bit. It's about the big, long-term picture, I'm telling myself!

BitOutOfPractice · 01/10/2016 16:30

There are some very impressive weight loss stories here. All welcome Smile

choco it depends on where you are comfortable. I am short (5ft 2in) but large of chest even at lower weights, and my comfortable size 12 weight is about 10st 10lbs. That's a whole stone above the top of my BMI recommended weight. Just ain't gonna happen! 10st 10lb feels realistic and achievable and I know I feel good at that weight. But someone else the same height may feel differently.

Wowsers, chrispen, that's fantastic!

Cheesetoastieyum · 01/10/2016 18:05

Hi pony 45 mins is fine - i read somewhere that actually jogging is different to walking in terms of heart rate (or something like that!) so even if you are the same speed as a walker, jogging is somehow better for you!
Well done chrispen what an achievement!

Me2017 · 01/10/2016 19:53

I would like to lose 7 pounds or at least a bit of weight in October so might well join in.

ponygirlcurtis · 01/10/2016 21:04

I know Cheesetoastie, I do console myself with that fact as I get overtaken by walkers Grin

Day 1 - nice (if stoppy-starty) walk in the autumn sunshine with DS2. Met my goal of 7.5k steps plus more. 2l of water down the hatch. All food logged on MFP and decent calorie deficit achieved. My evening is wine and steak (already logged) and catching up with Strictly. Smile

Birdofathousandvoices · 01/10/2016 21:43

Hello! Can I join in please?
11stone 8.5 at this morning's weigh in. Waaayyyyyyy preferable to the 11stone 13 I was 2 weeks ago. Still struggling with baby weight a year on. Have lost and regained the same half stone 3 times in the last 6 months.
So this time it's coming off and staying off!! 7 would be a good start...aiming for 11 stone 2 to get me out of overweight BMI category then will review target Grin
(Had 2 takeaways in 2 days and a dry up this morning. THIS. STOPS. NOW.)

BuggritMillenniumHandAndShrimp · 01/10/2016 21:54

Hi. Can I join in too? Smile
Managed to lose 3 stone of pregnancy weight with SW and was 9 stone this time last year but the weight's been creeping back on again. Scales this morning said 9.10 so time to stop the creep. Started well this morning with a 5 mile run and have avoided the snacks which have been instrumental in the gain!

ponygirlcurtis · 01/10/2016 22:08

Love your name, Buggrit! I have been trying toget DS1 into Terry Pratchett but he isn't keen, to my not very well hidden disappointment. I blame his father's genes! Grin

Frestelli · 01/10/2016 22:15

Is anyone else literally sitting on their hands to not eat some rubbish tonight? I can't be the only one! Dd's are in bed, DH popped out to see a friend, X Factor on plus and hour and all I can think is 'oh I could just stuff my face with crisps right now!' There's two packets in the cupboard but I'm holding firm!

Had a good day today, had three healthy, modest sized meals and no snacks or nonsense Grin couple of cups of tea and a good few pints of water. Oh and a thimble of red wine with dinner. I'm not sabotaging myself now!

ponygirlcurtis · 01/10/2016 22:30

Good going with standing strong, Frestelli! That's not easy at the weekend. What about snacks you can nibble at without too much damage - I like popcorn for this, feels substantial and it's filling.

chrispenrallt1 · 02/10/2016 07:41

Thanks cheesetoastie, nearly there now! I have found the running I do although it's not fast running, has helped me.

leesmum · 02/10/2016 08:34

Morning all, I'm in too after a rubbish September!

Start weight 9.1 stone would like to get to 8.7 by the end of the month.

I'm going to join in too, if nobody minds. Started at 14st 8lb on the August Bank Holiday weekend and I was 13st 5.5lb on Friday. I would love to lose at least 7lb in each of the last 3 months of this year, as my aim is to be under 12st by the start of 2017.

I'm using MFP and logging any activity with my Fitbit.

Good luck, everyone!

GingerAndTheBiscuits · 02/10/2016 09:53

Welcome all!

GingerAndTheBiscuits · 02/10/2016 09:57

Frestelli I was the same last night. Luckily we got drenched walking home from town and both DH and I got changed into our PJs which removed the temptation to nip to the corner shape!

MegBusset · 02/10/2016 10:01

Morning all! I was on the September thread but stalled in the last ten days, first because of a big family celebration and then because of a horrid virus (currently on day 8!) Which has left me sofa bound and craving stodge.

Anyway, I lost a bunch of weight in the summer and am trying to shift the last few pounds to my dream weight.

Weight before the summer: 10st
Weight start of September: 9st 5.5lb
Weight now: 9st 3.5lb
Target weight: 9st

I lose sloooooowly (thanks, impending middle age) but would like to think I can do between 0.5 and 1lb a week. I use MFP and try to walk 45-60 mins every day.

GingerAndTheBiscuits · 02/10/2016 10:03

MsMermaid · 02/10/2016 10:11

I'm joining too. I was on the September thread but didn't post much. I did lose 6 lbs though, so I'm counting that as a very successful month.

My starting weight this month is 14st6lbs. So if I can lose 7 lbs that will take me into the 13s which would be my lowest in about 7 years (since I got pg with dd2). I am now overweight rather than obese which is nice. And I had to buy new trousers for work because the old ones were falling down, so I'm now wearing size 16 trousers although my top half is still very much an 18.

I'm not officially dieting, I'm using a weight loss hypnosis app, listening every night (falling asleep to it, I assume my subconscious is still listening) and following their guidelines of "drink lots of water, eat slowly, eat when hungry, stop when no longer hungry", it seems simple but I'm finding it revolutionary as hunger rarely had any bearing on how much I used to eat Blush

littlepinkgiraffe · 02/10/2016 10:23

Hi all, can I join you? I'm 3 stone down so far this year and have just under a stone to reach my target (Slimming World). I'm in a rut lately and can't get back on it. In need of some more motivation and a serious kick up the bum! I will weigh myself later and post.

gillyginger · 02/10/2016 10:44

Morning allSmileI am all ready to join you all, I am 11.1 and want to be around 10.7 by end of October, planning to use mfp daily, and absolutely no refined sugar, bread and pastries, I shall read and post everyday for inspiration

chrispenrallt1 · 02/10/2016 11:00

Being as it's such a lovely sunny day today we are going walking and then for dinner it will be roast chicken. No ice cream today at end of walk will take an apple instead !

NightWanderer · 02/10/2016 12:21

Can I join too? My belly has reached Santa proportions (almost). I'm fat and forty. It's gotta go! I ran/walked/jogged 3km today, so that's a good start. My enemy is sugar, I can't just have one biscuit, I have to eat the packet. I'm trying to meal plan for next week. I think it will help me stay focussed.

ponygirlcurtis · 02/10/2016 13:01

Afternoon everyone. Just had one of my favourite lunches - cheese and ham omelette with mixed veg and salsa, all for 370cals.

Lovely day here so going to take the DSs to the park and see if I can get in some steps.

Cheesetoastieyum · 02/10/2016 13:12

Hello everyone - some great losses going on! It is very hard to keep momentum so this thread is really helpful! Just did a 10k event today which was tough but faster than my 10k last week so very happy. The cake stall was a lovely sight at the end - only one cupcake but no guilt, I feel I deserved it!
