As a dub sugar the result went down great in ours, but sorry for the loss. According to dh, and his shouting, it was heartbreakingly close. Well had stoopid Argo with him about stuff, and while I'm pretty sure I won on moral ground tis one of them marriage arguments you'd rather not have, suffice to say alcohol was the winner

Sorry to hear your saturday ended badly not. Hope the air is clearer this morning.

Good news: I'm in the 11s, at 11 13. Grin
Bad news: Dog woke me up before 4 needing to go outside to be v ill. Poor dog. Needless to say I couldn't get back to sleep, but have now prepped all veg for Sunday birthday lunch for the masses. If only I had remembered to take joint out of freezer yesterday thou' Shock

Thanks for stats must - very inspiring.

Bathsheba3 · 02/10/2016 07:46

Ignore last post - life in the 11s was short-lived & too good to be true. Another quick weigh before shower, and am 12 0.25. Only 1 cup of tea between (and a wee). Humph. Oh well.

Not2bObvious · 02/10/2016 08:51

bath!! Now that's taking hot stepper to head wrecker territory young lady😡 You are 11.13 - you and a cup of tea is 12.0.25
Congratulations, you're in the 11's in my book.
Air quality undetermined as yet, although I'd keep me away from blunt or sharp objects. Oh the demon drink, not sure how bad the hangover is yet as I've self medicated with nurofen 3 hours ago. Sadly my hangovers are always on sunny days, my eyes my eyes! Haven't totted all my drink cals yet but I only ate 2 meals yesterday so that's something

Thanks everyone.

Congrats on the 11s Bath Grin you are deffo 11st 13 that's got to be your real weight. Grin never eat/drink anything before weighing.

I'm 10st 6 this morning, back at my preholiday weight, I've not even been that strict with my diet Hmm I reckon I'm 6lbs away from goal as I don't think I want to be in the 9s.Smile

SesameSparkle · 02/10/2016 10:08

bath yay for reaching the 11s! It definitely counts, a cup of tea about a third of a litre weighs about 3/4 of a lb!

Not2bObvious · 02/10/2016 10:23

That's great must, and only 6lb to go, what a long way you've come since Jan. Scales showing .4 gain this morning, cals for yesterday even with stupid drinks were 1500 so I'm confident it's just undigested food. Now to decide what to eat today. Before the argument we talked about eating out but I'm not sure if I want to waste the calories when in a bad mood. It's a lovely day here, might go for a walk soon, clear my head

OP posts:
Sugarandsalt · 02/10/2016 10:45

Bath congrats on the 11s! And you are definitely there! I consider myself there too not weighinging for a few days after my weekend of eating out. Not I'm not from Mayo, just feel bad for them, having got to so many finals without taking Sam home! Sorry you had a bad evening, hope it's all blown over today. Must well done, you are so near to your goal now.

I'm nearly home, had an early start this morning. Soup for lunch then a roast chicken for dinner I think.

Not2bObvious · 02/10/2016 15:29

Bit of a munchy day for me, hangover didn't kick in so that's something but while I've no headache I have no desire to do anything. Toastie & crisps for lunch so considerably less cals than eating out but then had 2 small lumps of biscuit cake brought back from yesterday's party. Bit worried I won't sleep tonight. Quiet here today, hope you're all out having a life😉

Hi. I know this is a MFP thread but can I share my pride with you? My 18 yr old lad (who was never sporty in school) just completed the Cardiff Half Marathon in 2 hours. One very proud Mam.
Oh and I still managed a good diet day (and walked 1250 steps, not quite sure that's half a marathon though!!).

Lolimax · 02/10/2016 16:03

Whoops I meant 12500 steps it's been a long day!

Not2bObvious · 02/10/2016 16:27

That's excellent loli, didn't he do great! And well done you on 12500 steps, I've done about 12😁 And that was to the fridge. Need to get out of this pit

Runningupthathill82 · 02/10/2016 16:38

Oh and I still managed a good diet day (and walked 1250 steps, not quite sure that's half a marathon though!!)

It's round about half a half marathon (ie around 6.5 miles). I only know that because I cover around 25,000 steps in a half marathon.
(That's just the race itself, obvs, not including the inevitable long walk to and from the start/finish line....)
And that's a great time, Loli, hope he's happy with it.

AprilLady · 02/10/2016 16:57

Not, sorry you are having a bad day, glad you managed to avoid a hangover though.
Bath, welcome to the 11s! I only ever count the weigh in I do first thing in the morning before eating or drinking anything.
Loli well done to your son
Feeling a bit frustrated today; tried on a straight leg size 14 pair of jeans at M&S and they are still too tight, just couldn't bring myself to buy the 16s. Oh well.
Going out to friends for dinner tonight, it's the situation I find most challenging diet wise; you have very little control over what you eat and don't want to offend your hosts by not eating what they've spent hours cooking. Also very very difficult to guess calorie counts. Be interested to know what you all do in this situation?

Not2bObvious · 02/10/2016 18:12

April in those situations I focus on the company not the food, taste & enjoy everything but eat slowly & mindfully. Keep a well filled glass of water on the go with the meal cause you're dreadfully thirsty😉 If you don't eat it all and its commented on, just say it was delicious and you've had plenty then change the subject. Above all else have a lovely evening with your friends, the food is an accompanient not the main event. Hope that helps

OP posts:
Not2bObvious · 02/10/2016 18:42

Actually I don't think accompanient is a word, accompaniment maybe? Hopefully you get what I mean.
Haven't eaten since lunch, went for a wander around the shops as felt I was stagnating. I think I'm hungry but no idea what I want, had a mooch on the what's for dinner thread but still no clue

OP posts:
coragreta · 02/10/2016 19:12

April. I think it's ok to have a 'cheat meal' once a week. (Not a cheat day!) I think that if you have worked hard the rest of the week you should be allowed to enjoy yourself. I love food. I really do. I had a takeaway for my husbands birthday last week and I enjoyed every mouthful!
I'm at 1344 today after snacking on lo's leftovers!
Still got my 30day shred to do so will not be over if I include my exercise.
Got new batteries for my scales so will weigh in tomorrow!

DawheadAwgusEeentock · 02/10/2016 19:38

Found ye!!! Shamelessly sticking my oar back in after a bit of an absence Blush. Still doing good - lost another 0.7kg last week and avg daily cals this week around 1350 so far, which I'm happy with. Esp asTOTM arrived early so I've been battling the munchies a bit Confused.

Haven't caught up on the threads at all at all yet, so going to do lots of reading tonight and back properly tomorrow hopefully.

Bathsheba3 · 02/10/2016 19:47

No idea what my cals are for the day, but I don't care. I feel I've earned today off. Just about to have glass wine. Back to business tomorrow.

Proud mum moment Loli !! Sounds as though you have kept reined-in cora. Enjoy this eve April - no top tips, just small portion, sip wine v slowly so no refill, smile & enjoy.

Glad you got out in the end Not. Things any better?

October Goals anyone? I want to get to 11 6 - so a solid 8 lbs loss, 2 lbs/week.

Not2bObvious · 02/10/2016 20:07

My goals are to get under 11 by next Friday but if not by then by then end of the month. So 3lb goal as I'm away for a week and I doubt I'll need to tackle the gain as well😞
Not being defeatist just realistic. Finishing the day around 1400 with no alcohol, since I drank enough last night to do for today as well. It's going to be a busy week, between work/exercise/packing/another party on Friday. Thoughts of it all...

Have been shit this weekend. Back on it tomorrow.

coragreta · 02/10/2016 20:56

Haha. Put a bad weekend behind and focus on the week ahead.
Good luck for October goals. I'd like to meet my next reward which would be a 9lb loss. Not sure how realistic this is. I would be happy with 7lbs. Same as this month.

imwithspud · 02/10/2016 22:35

I'm ready for a new week. I've been pretty good this weekend and I'm not bloated like I was last week so hopefully I will lose something this week. Dyed my hair to give myself a bit of a boost.

I have a question. How do I record meals with lots of different components to it, like a roast dinner for example? Do I have to weigh out every ingredient and record it one by one or is there an easier way? We had roast beef + trimmings today and I had no idea where to start so I kind of guessed which obviously isn't a very reliable way of doing thingsBlush

SesameSparkle · 03/10/2016 01:06

April hope you enjoyed your night

dawhead welcome to the new thread - glad to hear you've been a good girl Wink

bath I'm thinking I want to get 3lb off to 9st10 in October, and after that will probably try to maintain.

spud you either add in each ingredient, which is what I frequently do, or you can search for something similar, or do a quick add for the calories alone. If I've put in all the ingredients I can easily copy the meal for another day, which helps.

Well I had a good go at eating plenty of exercise calories today. I burnt 450 on a run, and then used up 900 calories on a double portion of crumble and double cream. I should really have stopped at one portion. And I also could have had natural yoghurt instead of cream. Heigh ho. I did at least I have the pudding instead of dinner, so at least I finished under target today - I suppose that's something.

Hopefully · 03/10/2016 05:03

Hi everyone, have been away for the weekend (for afternoon tea in London. Did not bother logging) so back on it today.

I am up to 10.3.9 (1.3lb gain) this morning thanks to the weekend'a indulgences, which is tiresome, but I know it's at least 50% bloat. I am hanging on to the fact that my September loss was 3lb, my best monthly loss since starting. Hoping I can get back down to 10.2.6 again in a couple of days and restart my loss.

I really want to get under 10st in October, that's my goal for the month. Haven't been under 10st since 2012.

Sesame I have been known to choose pudding over dinner on more than one occasion Blush.

spud initially you really need to weigh everything that you possibly can, but as you get better at judging portions you can add ingredients with more of a guesstimated weight/calorie content. The more you can weigh the better off you'll be.
