And when you've left it as long as I had between proper hoovers you really have to put your back into it (I call a proper hoover when I use my heavier machine, my rechargeable for regular - I'm not too scuzzy promise)
Honestly sugar a couple of slices of toast isn't bad, neither is 1700 but you do sound like you're suffering mfp burnout. I think a maintenance break would do you the world of good. You've done so well, time to rebalance

OP posts:
Sugarandsalt · 04/11/2016 15:45

Not I'm not judging on the hoovering. It's DHs job in this house! I think you are right re burnout, I'm feeling guilty when I eat a few extra bites etc so I think a few days off will help me recharge. And tbh if I go into January this weight and take the last 1.5stone in 2017 it's not so bad. I was 16 stone a year ago so 11 10 is a lot better!

Not2bObvious · 04/11/2016 16:32

Omg that's like 60lb sugar, that's some serious poundage! You should be really proud of yourself💐

OP posts:
Lolimax · 04/11/2016 17:15

Sugar you are my heroine!

SesameSparkle · 04/11/2016 17:46

dawhead yes I reckon 'wasting away' must be some sort of celtic thing at least, and that time it was coming from a male colleague. Confused I echo what others are saying, a loss is a loss and you are still moving in the right direction. My losses have really slowed as my weight has dropped. I was in the 6-7lb a month gang at the beginning, recently I've been happy with 2lb....

loli glad you had a nice weekend and things look like they are moving in the right direction. Well done on the awesome loss for October. That's really impressive, especially given everything you are going through.

not sorry the scales are not behaving. Fingers crossed you can limit the damage over the weekend and then can make some headway again.

sugar Taking a break to maintain for a bit sounds quite sensible given everything that's been going on. I certainly couldn't keep up the pace of 6 months ago, I'm amazed you've been doing this for 10 months! That's an incredible loss - one quarter of your body weight, you must look completely different now! Star

cora sorry about the lb, I'm certain it's just a blip and you'll be back where you were very soon

More compliments chez sesame.... a colleague I hadn't seen in ages commented that I'm a shadow of my former self.... Hmm

I'm also still trying to learn to dress my new figure. I'm desperate for a warm winter coat. I've been freezing over the past few days since the temperature dropped, and although I can still get away with my old cocoon coat, I now no longer have layers of blubber to keep me warm.... Also I bought new gloves, but opted for the largest size as I always considered I had man hands.... Gloves have arrived and now I'm not so sure - I'm thinking I might be able to get away with smaller ones. How is it I can't even buy gloves now...? It's one thing to lose weight to look nice in the mirror, but having nothing that fits in the wardrobe is driving me mental.

Not2bObvious · 04/11/2016 17:52

That's gas sesame about the gloves, who'd have thought you'd lose weight off your hands! At my lightest of this weight loss attempt I was quite irritated by things like my favourite jeans not fitting, in a way it was strange cause they were falling down under my spare tyre, pretty much cause it had gone down from car tyre size to mountain bike tyre level still a feckin' spare tyre, grr Time to go shopping, at least you've a good excuse!

OP posts:
SesameSparkle · 04/11/2016 18:40

I know, actually I had to stop wearing one of my favourite rings a month or 2 back, so should have spotted it. I seem to be losing weight off all the wrong places - I still have lots of flab left around around my middle, but my boobs have been decimated.... Hmm

Not2bObvious · 04/11/2016 19:10

That's depressing about the boobs, mine are quick ruined from bf, I'd say losing the 1.5 stone I want to will finish them off😉 Oh well, my page 3 days were done with anyway (only joking, unless it was embarrassing bodies my boobs weren't out for airing!)

OP posts:
Lolimax · 04/11/2016 19:33

My body has always been an odd shape, now it's gone even stranger! Boobs have disappeared. My arms and legs look quite thin, all my weight is around the middle.

Sugarandsalt · 04/11/2016 19:57

I have massive thighs and bum (properly massive!) and a fairly small waist (27-28inches). Bust is 28FF which sounds big but isn't especially, arms quite chubby. But I look alright from the waist up, but the rest of me is a problem!

Not2bObvious · 05/11/2016 06:52

You sound like Jessica Rabbit sugar😉
I think we're a bit too critical of ourselves, we gain weight and we dislike our bodies (or I did, still do, constantly pinching lumps of flesh) and then when we lose it we see all these "flaws" - I say it like "that" cause I doubt anyone else who cared or loved us would see them. It's sad really when you step back & look at it, to gain/lose weight must be hard on our bodies and then we judge it and ourselves. Sorry deep musings for early morning.
Down .4 from yesterday, slowly ridding myself of my chocolate chunkage. I managed a v restrained 1650 or so yesterday, vg for a Friday round mine. Had Chinese so can't be 100% sure but only a small portion (starter, main & rice between 2 adults, 1 child)
Off to the gym for a class at 8, then back to shower & bring my dds on a shopping trip. On the bus! Oh the excitement for them...for me it could be torture. One who adores shopping, the other who hates it, and the one that hates it has short legs & a shorter emotional meltdown point. Wish me luck!

Bathsheba3 · 05/11/2016 15:48

Grrrr, I lost my post. Probably just as well - it was quite long, & would have bored you all, no doubt Wink. But the good news - I have found an old pair of JBrand skinny jeans from way back before I hit middle age, obviously!that fit. 31 waist. And am down another 1lb to 11 11.5. I've been doing OK sticking to near 1200, but it's a miracle my mindset is still in a good place. Long may it last.

Hope you survived the shopping trip Not. Hope everyone else are doing OK. Be strong this weekend!

Bathsheba3 · 05/11/2016 16:41

I had loads of mentions in my lost post.... huge congrats Loli on 1/2 stone loss in Oct, despite all you had on your plate. Hope the last 2 days back at work went as OK as they could be. And sugar - in awe of you Star. It's taken me so much effort to get down from 12 11 to 11 11.5. And you have achieved more, from starting of 16. Amazing. Sorry to hear about your deflation Sesame - but a small price to pay perhaps in your weight-loss?

Out for fireworks soonish. Will oooooh and aaaaaah my way through the evening Wink

Not2bObvious · 05/11/2016 17:05

Shopping went surprisingly well but oh my, my new skinny black jeans were soo tight that I could have cheerfully chucked them in a bin & went without (and it is COLD here today) So when I saw this I was like oh yeah

coragreta · 05/11/2016 19:35

I love that pic. I can totally relate.
My boobs are really big and I don't lose weight from there. But my legs are really skinny but I have a huge tummy so I find dressing myself hard.

Not done too bad today although not sure what I'm having for tea. Hopefully something light although a takeaway is very tempting right now.

Bathsheba3 · 05/11/2016 20:38

I dream of skinny legs Cora. I hate mine. Never ever get them out. Not a single skirt or shorts all summer. Maybe if I got down in the 10s I could be tempted - no promises though.

Has anyone seen the moon this evening? More impressive in my eyes than the fireworks.

I'm over my calories today, and hardly any steps. Will get out for a walk (run?) tomorrow.

Not2bObvious · 06/11/2016 07:12

Morning all, another bitter cold day here. I was destroyed after my workout & shopping, really thought I'd be crippled today but surprisingly I'm ok'ish. I got through 2500 calories yesterday but I'm not too concerned - between workout & walking I don't think it did too much damage. Was going to eat out later, instead I'm going to do a roast - should be better on the waistline & pocket.
Lots of missing mfp members - are you all still there? Check in and let's hear how you're getting on, youse must be sick of my witterings😉

Hello, do you mind if I join in?

I'm new to MFP. In fact, I'm new to dieting/tracking calories. I've never needed to before, but a combination of the dreaded mid-40's and lack of movement have seen some pounds creep on and I was a bit Shock at my holiday photos.

I don't have masses to lose. But, I am a small boned 5ft person and weight doesn't sit well on me.

Luckily, I'm able to run again, which was a passion of mine until injury hit 5 years ago. So, I'm gradually increasing the miles. I've a Garmin 235 which is linked to MFP.

I've gotten off 7lbs easily. I'm now 5ft and 8st 1lb. I'd like to be 7st 7lb. I know this sounds quite low, but I really am petite, and I would also like to race competitively too. It's well within healthy BMI.

Tracking food is a revelation! And just how few calories we actually need. Even though I do most stuff 'right' really.

Smile
Bathsheba3 · 06/11/2016 10:46

Roast for us too today Not. Just heading out for a run, 1st in a while. Nothing competitive, speedy or elegant about my style Need!. Welcome.

Bathsheba3 · 06/11/2016 10:48

Oh - and another 1/2 lb down to 11 11. Don't quite trust the scales. Unless this really is working? Hmm

Not2bObvious · 06/11/2016 14:29

Have faith bath, you could actually be doing this right😉
Welcome need, congratulations on dropping 7lb easily - you'll have to tell us your secret😁 Hopefully the other 7 drops off in the same fashion, you already sound super slim but you know yourself best and if you're looking for company keep posting and best of luck.
Roast nearly done, been a running about morning but nearly time to flop

Bathsheba3 · 06/11/2016 16:06

I managed 8km non-stop! Got into the rhythm after a bit. Typically bumped into a neighbour upon my return who wanted a chat as I was a huffing & puffing beetroot. I was over yesterday at about 1700, but all going well today I should be on track for 1216, even with my extra roast potato. Banking all my exercise calories though. I think I've been in credit all week with having to walk everywhere.

Hope everyone are OK??

pyjamas89 · 06/11/2016 16:46

Hello all, well done on the losses and thanks for the enocouragement!

Welcome need

I braved theTesco scales take 2 this morning (I took my sister with me and it was about a hundred times less embarrassing!) and I have lost 1.5lb in the last week. Was pleased to have lost despite the jaffa cake disaster (plus it's that time of the month so feeling particularly fat, and didn't think I would have lost because of this :) )

Well done on the 8km Bath that's brilliant! I did my first ever parkrun yesterday which I really recommend, it was fun and the people seemed friendly. Some people were very speedy but some walked it and there was a tail-runner, there were several families and people with pushchairs too which I thought was great - really accessible.

Blooming boiler packed up yesterday so I have no hot water or heating - I am freezing my butt off (quite literally, with a bit of luck!)

Needastrongone · 06/11/2016 17:01

Thank you for the welcomes, that's very kind.

Well done on the km's Bath. My DC say I run like Mr Ben, if you remember that particular kids show, so I am by no means elegant either!

Well done on the weight loss pajama, but bloody boo to the heating. I've just started doing the Parkrun, it's a lovely atmosphere isn't it?

Not, just dropping eating shite and still thinking I can get away with it. Cheese and crackers after work, chocolate bar after lunch, no exercise, nibbling, takeaways. MFP really does focus the mind.

Today won't be great as DH and me have gone away to a hotel for the night as it's his birthday. Had mushroom and tomato omelette and salad for lunch here, sadly with 2 glasses of wine... It's our first time away alone and the kids are 17 and 15 Grin

I've been stuck at 8st 1 for 3 weeks really, so hopefully can lose the last few pounds with extra miles and MFP!

Lolimax · 06/11/2016 17:04

Welcome Need!
Fantastic run Bath!!
Well done on the loss and run pyjamas.
I've had a good weekend made even better by the fact that I went to Tescos earlier to buy new work trousers as my size 16's were hanging off me. I tried a 12 on...and they bloody fit!!!!!! The last time I was in a size 12 was in uni and the Berlin Wall came down (reader if you weren't born then please don't tell me lol, I'm having a good day!).
