Who's up for the 7lbs in September challenge?

ponygirlcurtis · 01/09/2016 08:32

Following on from June, July and August's threads, we're aiming to lose 7lbs.
(Posting as Rshard is still on holiday - hope you had a great time!)

All regimes welcome. Support and encouragement guaranteed!

My starting weight for September is 11st 5.25lbs. (I actually ended yesterday at 6.5lbs but the scales have jumped down again so I am having it!). That means I lost 5lbs in August. I found having this thread helped my focus and determination, if it helps anyone else, fantastic! Smile

Good luck everyone!

Welcome back Rshard 5lbs in three-odd weeks is amazing, well done!

And thanks for the swimming love, today... 42 LENGTHS!

Grin

Good day food-wise too, so really hoping to see the results. I think I'm looking a bit less podgy in my swimmers too. pony if we both just lower our expectations a bit and aim to get ourselves into the next kg bracket per month, maybe we won't feel so envious of the BOOP style losses. Deal?

Welcome Dickory! We'll be starting a new thread at the end of the week for October, so get to know us and then bounce on over with us once the calendar turns. A stone is totally do-able!

Rshard · 27/09/2016 06:43

Thanks for the welcome back.
I have to admit that some of that loss was the holiday gain but am so glad it's gone!

Red up for off tober, love it

Rshard · 27/09/2016 06:47

Quim! Do you want to join my dd's swimming club?

BitOutOfPractice · 27/09/2016 07:39

No need for any jealousy here. I've put on this week. 1.5lbs on Confused

Helloheyhi · 27/09/2016 07:50

Quim you are on a roll kid! Expect to see a big whoosh soon!

BOOP that might just be water weight, nothing that a few hours in the hot tub won't fix Grin

BitOutOfPractice · 27/09/2016 08:33

I think it's more like wine weight

DoinItFine · 27/09/2016 09:08

I had visitors arrive while there was no food in the house, so had to order in pizza Blush

The complacency is taking over.

Now that I've passed the podge barrier I'm losing my resolve.

Love Off-tober! Grin

Hopefully seeing everyone else's losses will keep me on the straight and narrow.

BitOutOfPractice · 27/09/2016 09:20

Come on Doin! Climb back on the wagon. I'm currently running after it as it trundles off down the road

BitOutOfPractice · 27/09/2016 12:40

I am frantically checking nutritional info for Pizza Express as I've promised to take the kids out for dinner....

DoinItFine · 27/09/2016 12:53

Leggera pizzas are around 500 cals.

They are just normal pizzas where someone ate a big bit out of the middle and then put some salad in the hole.

Fools nobody. But they have their uses.

BitOutOfPractice · 27/09/2016 13:50

I am having the American Hot version of that. I was panicking that they'd stopped doing them.

We could have gone to Prezzo but their nutritional info is "being updated" on their web site and I CBA to go through all the stats on MFP

leesmum · 27/09/2016 15:31

Well done to those who are having lots of success!!! I started the month off really well and it all went a bit to pot...for lots of different reasons and there is no way I'll lose 7lb for the month but I WILL do it in October GrinGrinGrin

Rshard · 27/09/2016 15:42

That's the spirit leesmum!

Dyrne · 27/09/2016 17:40

Hi all, checking in; i've missed so many posts!

Had a very boozy weekend filled with terrible food; managed to put 1kg on; am hoping I can shift it by Friday to be officially 7lbs down this month!

Have been feeling a bit down recently; I haven't reached straight for the chocolate though which is progress.

It's jumper weather here, i've been a bit cheered up by the fact that all of my jumpers seem to be huge on me now Grin

GingerAndTheBiscuits · 28/09/2016 07:53

This morning I am 8lbs down but have been resolutely stuck at 6lbs down for days so it's touch and go as to what the scales will say on "official" weigh in tomorrow morning! I feel more like I did at the end of last year when I was approaching 12st rather than the 13+ I was at the start of September, so that's encouraging. Have a great last few days all!

getting a little thrill from "Off-tober" taking off Grin

ponygirlcurtis · 28/09/2016 08:02

Doin I did laugh at the idea of some random person eating the middle out of your pizza! Grin

Dyrne that is a fantastic loss even if that last little kg won't disappear for Friday - and if it doesn't it won't be long before it does. Sorry to hear you have been feeling a bit low though, but you are right that not overeating in those circumstances are a big achievement. So well done all round and have some Flowers.

dyrne sorry to hear you've been feeling a bit low but well done for avoiding the chocolate!

Fingers crossed ginger for the final weigh in but you've done fabulously

BitOutOfPractice · 28/09/2016 12:01

Oh Dyrne sorry you've been low. Hope brighter times are here for you very soon Flowers

QuimReaper · 28/09/2016 13:55

Dyrne you've done fantastically, a 5lm loss for a month is absolutely terrific! I like that we're shooting for 7lb in a month, but it's a pretty uphill target, so don't beat yourself up if it's only ("only!") 5 or 6. Hope you're feeling better Flowers

GingerAndTheBiscuits · 28/09/2016 16:07

Isn't a lb a week meant to be the most sustainable loss? So anything around 4 is bloody good work I say!

Rshard · 29/09/2016 07:38

I was thinking this morning how trying to lose weight and staying on track with, and also how this thread and the previous ones have helped.

I was thinking this as I made my DD Nutella pancakes for breakfast. This is a weekly treat breakfast and in the past I would have sneakily eaten a couple of bits, licked the spoon or gobbled up leftovers. I didn't do any of that this morning.

So that made me think how this trying to lose the weight has altered our mind sets. Dyrne not reaching for the chocolate when she was fed up. quim doing all that swimming and motivating herself to do a couple more each time!

So at their risk of sounding slightly bossy, what other examples are out there????

Thought it might be quite motivating as we end September and move into offtober

GingerAndTheBiscuits · 29/09/2016 08:09

In my case, I'm off to a regional meeting today which would usually be an excuse to grab a Subway or something similar for lunch as a "treat" but instead am taking the (very tasty!) salad I've been having for lunch all week

Rshard · 29/09/2016 08:15

Perfect ginger

GingerAndTheBiscuits · 29/09/2016 08:16

Start of the month: 13st3.75

Rshard · 29/09/2016 09:04

That's awesome ginger! Well done!
