Who's up for the 7lbs in September challenge?

ponygirlcurtis · 01/09/2016 08:32

Following on from June, July and August's threads, we're aiming to lose 7lbs.
(Posting as Rshard is still on holiday - hope you had a great time!)

All regimes welcome. Support and encouragement guaranteed!

My starting weight for September is 11st 5.25lbs. (I actually ended yesterday at 6.5lbs but the scales have jumped down again so I am having it!). That means I lost 5lbs in August. I found having this thread helped my focus and determination, if it helps anyone else, fantastic! Smile

Good luck everyone!

God I could murder some cheese on toast! I think you and I have similar savoury taste buds ginger

Can I have a little boast on here? I made it to 5km without stopping or walking on the treadmill today. First time in a few years. It's taken me an age to get there but I feel so bloody proud of myself. I grinned all the way through my cool down walk and looked like a loon

Dyrne · 21/09/2016 22:29

Quim You've still made great prigress overall, and I wonder if it's now because you've got hardly anything left to lose, why you're going so slow. I get how it can really affect motivation though, hopefully you'll finish off a fast day soon and get back on it!

Ginge I hope you managed to burn off those cheesey calories! Grin I don't actually like cheese (I know, I'm a weirdo!). I'm thankful though, as those are easy calories to avoid!

BOOP That's fantastic, well done! I'm so impressed, I can't run for any length of time, so in awe of those who can! So you can feel justifiably proud of yourself! I keep thinking of doing C25K, but keep putting it off. I suppose I just need to get out there and do it...

BitOutOfPractice · 22/09/2016 06:11

You don't like cheese?

GingerAndTheBiscuits · 22/09/2016 07:23

A measly quarter of a pound this week! Curse you, cheese shakes fist

Must try not to eat everything in sight out of annoyance now!

Well done on the 5k BOOP. I found the miles came much easier once I'd hit that point.

DoinItFine · 22/09/2016 08:35

Stay strong, Ginger, that's one big burger you lost this week!

So frustrating when the scales don't move.

I have been weeing like a racehorse all week. I guess the water finally made its way out.

I lost another 2lbs. That's 8lbs off this month.

My personal target was 10lbs for September, so I've still 2 more to go by next week.

I have a race at the weekend, which should help, and the celebrations, which won't. Grin

I now weigh 9st13lbs, so I've broken my personal podge barrier of 10 stone. For some reason I look quite different on either side of that weight.

Well done on 5K without stopping BitOut. I'm a demon for stopping. It's such a hard habit to break.

GingerAndTheBiscuits · 22/09/2016 09:23

A big burger Grin I like that way of thinking! Brilliant loss Doin. I'm 6lbs down for the month so at least am still on target! Will focus on the bigger picture...

BitOutOfPractice · 22/09/2016 09:33

Well done on the losses you two.

The love the idea of breaking your PB (Podge Barrier) DoinIt Grin

QuimReaper · 22/09/2016 13:16

Dyrne Thanks I hope that's what it is, although I know my own cheesey-winey excesses are really to blame!

It says a lot about how much I like you that I like you even though you don't like cheese Grin

QuimReaper · 22/09/2016 13:17

Oh WOW BOOP that is an amazing achievement! I remember when I did it for the first time, I felt so chuffed, and I totally did the grinning-cooldown thing too!

I couldn't begin to do it now...

ponygirlcurtis · 22/09/2016 14:46

Not surprised you were grinning BOOP, that's fantastic. Running is a mental game - now you know you can do 5km you will do it no probs next time!

Some great losses going on, whoop whoop! And still a week of the month to go. I am just going to get myself through this bank holiday weekend (well, in Scotland) on damage limitation. By then my period will be finished and I can draw a line and start fresh. That's the plan anyway.

The depressing thing is that a few years ago I was running 10K for fun. Then I had a rather traumatic time in my love life, piled the weight on and it's taken me a dogs age to get back to it

DoinItFine · 22/09/2016 15:29

You'll be running 10Ks for fun soon if you are running 5K without a break now.

The 0-5 gap is huge. The 5-10 gap is quite modest.

You have all that muscle memory and residual fitness to draw on too.

:)

Period solidarity, pony. Mine arrived yesterday a bit early. Uff. At least that means the worst will be over by Saturday.

BitOutOfPractice · 22/09/2016 18:22

I hope so Doin. I'm actually going to start a programme to get a faster 5k before I step up to 10

DoinItFine · 22/09/2016 19:53

What is the programme?

10K is my distance, but I want to work on speed.

I just got caught in a rainstorm at the end of my run.

Soaking and miserable.

And hungry.

BitOutOfPractice · 22/09/2016 22:14

It's called 5k pacer and it's an app by the same people as the C25k. I think it's a couple of pounds.

I'm going to consolidate at a steady 5k first then move into that in October.

God dammit I've had a guest for dinner and drunk too much wine. Blown my calories Angry

QuimReaper · 22/09/2016 22:40

Good food day today, walked a bit, aaaand...

Swam 40 lengths!

40!

Grin
QuimReaper · 22/09/2016 22:42

BOOP as Doin says, getting up to 5K is an amazing achievement, and now you won't have any trouble building to 10.

You're making me want to rejoin the gym and get back on it...

BitOutOfPractice · 23/09/2016 07:50

Another pound off here. That's 10.5 lbs in total in September Smile can't quite believe it!

GingerAndTheBiscuits · 23/09/2016 09:25

Quim and BOOP brilliant!!

BitOutOfPractice · 23/09/2016 10:15

It's really helped havingthis thread. Thanks guys

What are your plans today folks? I'm at an exhibition this afternoon then meeting the BF for drinks and dinner. This will be a disaster diet-wise. He has lost 2 stone and is at goal

BitOutOfPractice · 23/09/2016 10:16

Quim I am sending you 40 lots of length love Wink

DoinItFine · 23/09/2016 10:26

Wow, Quim, that is a lot of lengths. 1K?

10.5lbs already is making me quite Envy

I'm going to see a play later. DH always makes pizza on Friday evening, so I'll have mine (they are really crispy base, so pretty OK cal wise) either before or after the theatre. I'll drive there and back, so no booze.

Know I will have some drinks on Saturday night after my race. Need to resist going too crazy as a "reward".

Hope everyone is in good form. :)

BitOutOfPractice · 23/09/2016 10:32

Remind me what the race is Doin

DoinItFine · 23/09/2016 10:47

Oh nothing exciting. Just a 10K.

I thought I would have trained to run a good time, but I don't really know how.

And also didn't train enough.

But I will get around on race adrenalin.

QuimReaper · 23/09/2016 10:52
