Who's up for the 7lbs in September challenge?

ponygirlcurtis · 01/09/2016 08:32

Following on from June, July and August's threads, we're aiming to lose 7lbs.
(Posting as Rshard is still on holiday - hope you had a great time!)

All regimes welcome. Support and encouragement guaranteed!

My starting weight for September is 11st 5.25lbs. (I actually ended yesterday at 6.5lbs but the scales have jumped down again so I am having it!). That means I lost 5lbs in August. I found having this thread helped my focus and determination, if it helps anyone else, fantastic! Smile

Good luck everyone!

Hi all,
My weekly check in - I have been lurking all week - my iPad is on the blink so looking on DHs which isn't logged into MN (obvs) - but on my work laptop now...
Drew a line under last week which wasn't so good and this week have upped my game by logging on to MFP and doing a bit of IF - not quite 5:2 but was under 500cal on Wednesday and may go for it again today ( only 30g porridge with milk so far today)
Weigh in at 9.10 on the button today so that's a 4.5lb loss so far for September. I doubt I'll lose 2 1/2 lbs by next week but will try. I'm usually a 1lb a week person.
Quim and BOOP amazing losses! I'm well jel Envy
Bitout great work on the 5k - I've been doing C25K with a friend on and off for 4 years and we only once managed to finish the programme and then rested on our laurels, so have gone back to the beginning after breaks and false starts many many times. Started again this morning and had a lovely run/walk - we started on wk2 run3 which isn't too bad for a 5 month break. I don't mind if we never get there - we had a great chat anyhow having not seen each other since before the school hols. Might do the Parkrun tomorrow with DS(9) - we're about at the same level- it takes us 40 minutes so we are always nearly last - but it doesn't half make me smug for the rest of the day having been up, out of bed and 5k under my belt before 10am Grin

You are all doing great! Chat later.

BitOutOfPractice · 23/09/2016 11:33

Quim you have a dirty mind young lady

Doin I don't think I have EVER stood on the start line of a race feeling well-trained or ready! There always seems to be plenty of time and then all of a sudden it's a week to race day and I'm not ready! You'd think I'd learn. I hope you get round OK and enjoy it

BitOutOfPractice · 23/09/2016 11:37

spring I've never done a Park Run but may do tomorrow if we don't drink too much tonight

QuimReaper · 23/09/2016 11:37

spring you're thinking of someone else, I'm the one who's lost a measly 2lbs in 3 weeks, you've done much better than me - well done!

How did you find your

springlenner · 23/09/2016 11:55

Sorry Quim ! I took notes on the last two pages so I could compliment you all! But then couldn't read my own writing Anyway, you're doing great. 2lbs down is 8 large burgers Grin

QuimReaper · 23/09/2016 12:42

Spring your post made me laugh as I also write down names and pray hard that I won't mess it up Grin
Well done on your loss!

BOOP you are killing it mate! Amazing progress, bet you feel all kind of awesomeness!

Doin good luck for your race tomorrow, you are already a winner in my book by taking part! Sending you lots of positive vibes and cheers for tomorrow.

Ginger well done, 6 pounds is fab. I am also at the same point. Any trend downwards no matter how big or small is good progress, that's what I tell myself to keep myself going Blush

Pony hope you are through the worst. Well said to draw a line and restart. Good thinking there!

Shout out to Rshard hope all is well mate. Haven't seen your post recently Flowers

I have got a toe infection so am out of action as struggling to walk around. Currently on anti biotics. It's all the bloody shoes I wear at work Angry

If I finish the month at 6 pounds I will be delighted. Hope y'all doing well. Enjoy your weekends guys Flowers

I was wondering who the new girl was and then there you were hello, back again.

BitOutOfPractice · 24/09/2016 05:56

Awww sorry to hear about your manky toe Flowers that's one of those things that sounds minor but is actually really bloody painful. Get well soon.

ponygirlcurtis · 25/09/2016 13:44

How's the weekend going for everyone? I managed a 5k run at the gym yesterday, at a reasonable speed (for me!). Had a bit of lurgy over our bank holiday typical but I think my eating has been OK. Come Friday I am not expecting much of a loss, given the weird month I have had, maybe 1lb in total. But better than nothing, and definitely better than a gain.

Nearly there everyone!

BitOutOfPractice · 26/09/2016 08:25

God I've had a disaster of a weekend. Shock

Too much to eat and drink on Friday night and dinner served so late on Saturday that I snacked age nibbled all evening. Then went out for a long walk yesterday and accidentally ended up in the pub.

Aren't get on the scales

Well done on the speedy 5k pony

DoinItFine · 26/09/2016 09:09

My weekend was fine.

As long as I burnt 11,000 calories on my 10K run Hmm

Helloheyhi · 26/09/2016 09:29

Thanks BOOP toe is much better now although still painful.
Sounds like a really good weekend. You have done so well for this month and you so deserved to treat yourself. New start today?

I am hovering about 61.5 kg and don't think it will go down more for this month.
That takes me to a total loss of 23.5kg since April or 51.7 pounds in plain old earth money! Grin

Hope y'all doing well. 1 week to go!

ponygirlcurtis · 26/09/2016 10:02

Grin Doin! Sure it helped. 10k is great going.

I like the sound of a long walk to the pub, BOOP, cancels out the alcohol or so I have heard. Wink

Wowsers Hello, that's a terrific loss - nearly 4 stone in 5 months! Star Well done.

OP posts:
Helloheyhi · 26/09/2016 10:11

Thanks Pony it's 6 months! Still got 9.5kg to go to pre pregnancy weight but not sure I will carry on. I was very stressed in April thinking how the hell will I even tackle this huge weight issue but as time has passed, I am not that overwhelmed now. My ma said to give it a year so still have another 4.5 months to go yet. Are you up for the same in October? I find this thread hugely encouraging.

BitOutOfPractice · 26/09/2016 10:19

I'm up for a Halfstonetober yes! I love this thread

Do you know what. I've just had a revelation. A glass of wine in the pub doesn't have to be large. I realise that's obvious. But I've only just clocked it.

DoinItFine · 26/09/2016 10:26

Halfstonetober!

Yes, I'm up for that too.

I need to keep going, but can feel complacency creeping in already.

Helloheyhi · 26/09/2016 10:28

I get what you mean BOOP it's such a simple concept yet the rational part of the brain doesn't seem to have received the memo!! I am like this with a bag of crisps, if I open a family bag, I end up eating the lot fully aware that I don't have to. Ughhh
