Who's up for the 7lbs in September challenge?

Following on from June, July and August's threads, we're aiming to lose 7lbs.
(Posting as Rshard is still on holiday - hope you had a great time!)

All regimes welcome. Support and encouragement guaranteed!

My starting weight for September is 11st 5.25lbs. (I actually ended yesterday at 6.5lbs but the scales have jumped down again so I am having it!). That means I lost 5lbs in August. I found having this thread helped my focus and determination, if it helps anyone else, fantastic! Smile

Good luck everyone!

Can i join? Have been trying to get back to being good after our holiday but keep stuffing myself with sugar. I use mfp and all meals are relatively healthy but I can't resist the sugar, it's making me feel awful. If I can be accountable on here it will help. Currently 8st 12 want to be 8st 4.

PlumFairy2014 · 01/09/2016 16:15

Well so far it isn't going well, just weighed myself to check and I'm actually 10st4 not 2.
So 9st 11 is my aept target. Oops!

ponygirlcurtis · 01/09/2016 18:25

Lovely to see lots of people on board for September. Some of you have had great losses already, well done. Star

Today I have had pork pies, meringues and skooshy cream, along with ham, coleslaw and salad - 50th birthday at work - but it's all counted on my MFP and my lunch comes to just over 400 cals (wee yummy pork pie bastards were 100 each Shock). I still have nearly 900 cals to play with waste on gin. So it doesn't have to be a write-off.

I don't have a particular goal in mind. I have already lost 2st in the last two years from low sugar/low carb/high fat eating but it's been more changing the way I ate and weight loss was the side effect. But I have been at a plateau for months. Thanks to this thread giving me focus I have broken through it. If I get down to 11st 4lbs I will have lost 10% of my weight from where I was two years ago so that's my first aim.

Please can I join in? I seem to have gained 7lbs over the school holidays, so it's definitely time to do an about-turn, and it would give me a real boost to get that amount back off again this month. I'm currently 11st 6, so a target of 10st 13 by end of September for me. I'm eventually aiming for a steady 10st 2, have been there before, can do it again, and keen to get there by early 2017. Will be cheering you all on, and thanks to those who started this series of threads :)

Dyrne · 01/09/2016 21:02

So, first day done and i've already had a magnum Blush. Too much talk of them! It was the last one in the freezer though, and have told DP I dont want any more for the forseeable.

The magnum takes the calorie count for today up to 1400. So over my 1200 aim, but i've racked up 600 exercise calories today so i'm still in profit.

Tomorrow's a new day - should be easy to get down to 1200 calories.

MsHeffalump · 02/09/2016 01:01

I'm in again. Last month was all going well, until I tripped over my period and landed face-first in a mountain of chocolate. But overall loss for last month of 3.5lbs, and I seem to be wearing my (admittedly enormous) belt on its smallest hole. Plan for this month: try to avoid great big piles of junk food; don't let self-sabotaging brain use period as an excuse; get back on the exercise bike; don't fret about the numbers.

notsoold · 02/09/2016 04:19

Me please..me please!!!! I am also on the larger side being around 73 and 74kg and want to leave the 70s. So 7lbs for September sounds great. Please count me in

PikachuSayBoo · 02/09/2016 07:03

I'm in. I weigh 87 kg. just joined a gym and am hoping to sort myself out.

Questi0ns · 02/09/2016 07:05

Yep I'm in. August went pretty well. 75.5kg down to 72.5kg and hoping to do the same in September. I would very much like to hit the 60's.

I'm doing the 5:2 and broadly low carbing on non fast days.

Good luck all!

divafever99 · 02/09/2016 07:10

I'm in! I need to loose my baby weight (dd was 1 last week Blush ) I am 11 st 7 and would like to get to my weight pre dc of 10 st.

Zazu44 · 02/09/2016 07:14

Can I join too ..... Back on my hypnosis app which really works if you listen daily. Glad to be back to work after the summer hols and away from temptation.

walruswhiskers · 02/09/2016 07:20

I'd like to join in please. I'm already set on a low carb style regime for the next 6 weeks but being on a thread will help motivate me!

Starting at 11st11, I'm 5 ft7. Ironically, thanks to exercise, I'm in better shape than for years, but I do need to lose a stone at least.

No booze and only carbs at one meal per day for me. Good luck to others!

FiaMarrow · 02/09/2016 07:23

Love to join - have succumbed to "holiday eating" for the past 7 weeks and have put on 5lbs. No excuse for it either as I've been working for half of it! I'm 9st 12, would love to be 9 5.

Will use MFP and recently discovered Jessica Smith TV on YouTube. Her 10min workouts are great - my DD (5) even gives them a go!

ponygirlcurtis · 02/09/2016 07:39

Great losses for last month, MsHeff and Questi0ns!

I'm in please! On holiday at the moment so can't weigh but estimated weight 11st and would like to be 10. Need to step away from the sugar. zazu what's your hypnosis app?

Skala123 · 02/09/2016 08:28

Weigh in this morning was 9.5 so looks like 4lb loss already which I'm slightly suspicious of! Goal weight is 9st but not been there in over a decade so not sure if I'm dreaming...

MegBusset · 02/09/2016 09:27

I'm in. Lost 10lb earlier this summer (went from 9st 13lb to 9st 3lb) but have been a bit more relaxed eating Magnums every day over the summer so am now 9st 5.5lb. Target weight is 9st, I have not been that light in years so that would be a real achievement.

I am using MFP and good old-fashioned calorie counting, it's the only thing that works for me. No time for exercise but I do walk at least an hour most days.

QuimReaper · 02/09/2016 12:40

What is it with you lot and Magnums? Grin

I got smashed last night at a bon voyage thing, and had pasta Hmm Fast Day on a hangover, lucky me.

I have a wedding to go to tomorrow which I had really hoped would make me be "good" this week so as not to feel like a hippogriff in my dress. Result: overindulge for four days straight and then frantically try and starve self thin the day before. Ideal!

PhilMckrakin · 02/09/2016 12:46

Today is not going to be very easy. Out for a meal tonight with flowing alcohol and starters and dessert. Had to make food choices ages ago so I know I have not made the best choices. Might have to go with it and make up for it tomorrow by rigidly sticking to 1200 calories. I am not doing very well considering this is only the 2nd day Sad

QuimReaper · 02/09/2016 13:03

It takes a while to get into the swing Phil I wouldn't despair!

Since you've already ordered your food for tonight I suggest you just enjoy it and tighten up tomorrow as you suggest Smile

JamieVardysParty · 02/09/2016 13:14

I'd try and do as much damage limitation as possible Phil - so YY to a couple of days of tightening up. I tend to look at my calorie count for the week. If I know I am going out or have a party etc, I tend to eat at my TDEE for the day plus then reduce calories on a couple of days earlier in the week to give myself a bank. At least this way I might just be maintaining my weight rather than gaining.

Also consider the alcohol options, vodka/gin with tonic/soda/diet mixer rather than beer/cocktails. If the food is three course and fairly big portions, can you eat three quarters rather than all?

PikachuSayBoo · 02/09/2016 13:24

Ive been for a 3 mile walk and then went to the gym for an hour this morning.

MsHeffalump · 02/09/2016 13:25

If it weren't raining I'd want a magnum now too. There's a shop five minutes up the road selling six mini ones for £1.50. Unfortunately my brain never got the memo about using healthiness and hunger to decide whether to eat something. It just thinks if it's cheap then I can afford it so it must be fine. Stupid brain!

Hopped on the scales again this morning though. 278lbs. (Am I the heaviest here at the moment?) Realistically I could get down to 270 by the end of the month, but if I set a target, self-sabotaging brain will try to muscle in and I'll probably end the month at 280. So, one day at a time, and if the overall trend is down I'll be happy.

Dyrne · 02/09/2016 13:33

Quim I cant imagine anything worse than fasting with a hangover - big bowl of pasta with bacon - that's what's needed! Grin magnums are all safely scoffed now, so no more in the house.

Phil I guess the real test will be tomorrow - enjoy yourself tonight and dont worry; but just make sure that tomorrow you dont go "fuck it, the diet is ruined so I might as well stuff my face".

Hopefully having a BBQ tonight if the weather holds - i've managed to convince DP that I really dont require 3 types of meat... Hmm
