Who's up for the 7lbs in September challenge?

ponygirlcurtis · 01/09/2016 08:32

Following on from June, July and August's threads, we're aiming to lose 7lbs.
(Posting as Rshard is still on holiday - hope you had a great time!)

All regimes welcome. Support and encouragement guaranteed!

My starting weight for September is 11st 5.25lbs. (I actually ended yesterday at 6.5lbs but the scales have jumped down again so I am having it!). That means I lost 5lbs in August. I found having this thread helped my focus and determination, if it helps anyone else, fantastic! Smile

Good luck everyone!

although I'd get a taxi - I wouldn't want to waste any energy

Grin

LOL - yeah, we are not wasting a single one of those 11,000 calories on stupid walking!

Also love your "snack" of a whole lemon drizzle cake Grin

GingerAndTheBiscuits · 15/09/2016 17:29

Cheese. Just cheese.

springlenner · 15/09/2016 18:38

I forgot cheese!

springlenner · 15/09/2016 18:45

Doin the whole lemon drizzle cake is my five a day as other than that I won't have any other fruit n veg Grin. Although, maybe a slice of tomato in the club sandwich!

Dyrne · 15/09/2016 19:46

Ooh 11000 calories... sadly I have just done a little adding up and I think at my biggest I was easily putting away 5000 in a day - 3 x sharer bags of chocolates will do that Blush No wonder I always felt so rubbish...

MsH I stayed strong last night, I hope you did too! Good work on refusing the snacks, it's always more difficult when they're readily available in the house.

Quim I hope all that wine didn't go down on a

ponygirlcurtis · 16/09/2016 07:36

Morning everyone. Loving the 11,000 calories talk.

Struggled a bit this week - combination of DS1 being away on his school camp so extra temptation to comfort eat drink, plus motivation due to being so stuck on the scales. Have gone a bitover a couple of days, although still in deficit overall. Pleased to report those pesky scales have shifted now - by a whole pound down. So essentially I am back where I started at the start of the month. Hmm Have to confess to feeling a little meh but that's also because my period is due. So cue another two weeks of weight not shifting.

DS1 is due home today so hopefully that will cheer me up a bit! Grin

Aww it's awful when they're away isn't it? House just doesn't feel right Flowers

Pleased to report another pound off do I have now officially done the 7lbs in September! Even better, I have crossed the threshold into the next stone bracket

Superstar90 · 16/09/2016 07:53

Can I recommend mini milks! 30 calories..! And taste yummy and on offer at the mo. I've been eating one every time I need a treat instead of chic, biscuits etc (10 times a day!) and it's working in terms of weight loss!! Going to make my fortunes out of the mini milk diet Wink

ponygirlcurtis · 16/09/2016 08:29

Fantastic, BOOP! And there is still nearly half the month to go! Star And yes the house has been quiet. And I haven't known what to do with myself without running around collecting from school, taking to football etc!

Grin Superstar, that sounds like a great plan!

DoinItFine · 16/09/2016 09:08

Minimilks is a good tip, thanks :)

I have to have some sweets.

Usually stick to a few squares of dark chocolate or a Tesco value mousse (best chocolate mousses around).

springlenner · 16/09/2016 10:07

Weigh in this morning - gained 1/2 lb :-(
I deserve it though and it could have been worse - on a positive note I am still 3lbs down for September and there are 14 days to go....

DoinItFine · 16/09/2016 11:52

I don't think 1/2lb really counts as a gain.

Or a loss.

Just a fluctuation.

Sorry you had no loss this week :(

Maybe imaginary calories still count! Shock

user1471524896 · 16/09/2016 12:58

How tall are you doin? As I'm aiming for 10st too. Am a way off though Shock and the room with the scales at the gym was busy- I'm destined not to weigh until next week! Confused
I am exhausted today! Carbs for lunch!

user1471524896 · 16/09/2016 12:58

Ps yes please to the 11,000 calories!!!Cake

BitOutOfPractice · 16/09/2016 14:45

Doin I've heard that before about the Tesco value chocolate mousse. Must give them a try

I've had a beef salad for lunch followed by coffee and a Freddo. Blimey they are smaller than I remember!

CarrieLouise25 · 16/09/2016 14:54

Dyrne - thanks Smile... Not too bad now scales are behaving, weighed 9st 7.2 this morning so 4lb loss for the month so far.

Ponygirl - Am the same. My motivation goes if the scales don't match my effort! Plus periods really knock me for 6. I can't exercise or even leave the house (endo and problems) - and I get so bloated. It's hard not to want to 'treat' yourself!

Superstar - I echo the mini milks (when everyone else is tucking into magnums - I'm there with my mini milk) Grin

BOOP - you've hit the target 2 weeks early, that's fantastic!! Virtual Cake for you Grin. I love crossing the threshold into the next bracket!

Doin - also a mousse eater here as a treat. Only 93 calories per pot. I get every last bit out!!!

Had a go at DH just because he's a man and can eat more calories than women, which is not fair at all (the calorie thing, not having a go). Luckily he understands I get pissy upset when the scales aren't moving down fast enough and accepts this random attack that he has no control over Grin

Helloheyhi · 16/09/2016 15:17

Dryne enjoy your dinner with friends tonight, fingers & toes crossed your loss sticks!

Pony glad the scale went down and hope your son had a good time at camp, & you guys have a lovely evening all together tonight. Sorry you are feeling a bit meh Sad

BOOP amazing result, very inspiring, massive congrats on reaching this month's goal! Bet you are feeling fantastic?!

All the talk about the mini milk is making me want one. I have never had one before, will def get some with my shopping this week.

My day off today and so far I have had fish curry, rice, salad, grilled chicken, noodles, vegs, dark chocolate, crisp, peanuts. One after another!! Gah. And I am still hungry! I blame it on being up since 4.30! Weather is miserable here, rain, thunder and lightening so feeling a bit meh too!

Have a good weekend y'all awesome people!

BitOutOfPractice · 16/09/2016 15:34

Hello I have an attack of the meh today as well. It's 12° colder than yesterday and I've just put my slippers on. Meh

I'm doing ok on the food front though I've hardly moved my lardy arse all day

DoinItFine · 16/09/2016 15:48

Hi user, I'm 5'5".

I'm aiming for 9.5 stone. (Not this month, obviously, but planning to keep going).

I really look a lot better if I keep my weight below 10 stone.

teta · 16/09/2016 16:00

I think I've lost 2 pounds. The scales have been jumping wildly and seemed to weigh me 1.2 KGS heavier than my starting weight after the first day.But I was down 2 Pounds this morning.I've been eating no processed carbs at all until last night ,swimming twice ,yoga twice and lots of walking.I think I was expecting more to come off but hey ho it's slower at my age.
Yoo moo ice lollies taste rich and creamy but are 74 calories only.I've been having one of those daily as a sweet treat.

QuimReaper · 16/09/2016 20:08

Aargh congrats BOOP that's amazing! There already!

spring I've only lost about 1.5 so you're doing better than I am Grin

Dyrne it weeny wrong because I was batch cooking a bazillion freeze meals and got the wine out to make a sauce and it sort of ended up in a glass in my hand Blush So my dinner was nibbling as I went, but all healthy stuff like bits of salmon fillet (fish pie) and cherry tomatoes (pasta bake) and scraping the béchamel pot)

QuimReaper · 16/09/2016 20:11

I may have said this up thread but there's a MNer somewhere who swears by Mini Ritter Sport bars, apparently they're a delight and minimal calorie-wise but essential if you're after a sweet treat.

Options Hot Choc is my secret weapon. Luckily I'm not much of a sweet tooth but when I craving they really hit the spot, and it seems impossible that they have so few calories.

Dyrne · 16/09/2016 20:39

Pony Hoping you're feeling a bit happier now DS is home.

BOOP Well done on reaching 7lbs down already! Now you need to make sure it sticks for the rest of the month Grin

Spring I agree with DoinIt - the 1/2lb is more than likely due to water - hopefully it'll settle and you'll see your loss.

Hello The weather hasn't been too bad here during the afternoon but It was horrific here last night (SE) - caused major flooding all over the place. I was kept up most of the night by the storms; plus a neighbour's house was directly hit by lightning which resulted in two fire engines being here most of the morning! I got off relatively lightly with some sort of surge taking out the phone and internet, but with a bit of tinkering and a phone call to DP who's on holiday I managed to fix it. A couple of our networked things aren't working (speakers, thermostat etc) but DP can sort that when he's back on Tuesday!

Teta 2 lbs is definitely in the right direction! It's so annoying when you get loads of fluctuations though, so I sympathise.

Quim Ah, I see - the sneak wine attack! Grin Highlights/Options hot chocolate is my go-to thing when the cravings get too much - it takes a little while to prepare, cool, then drink, so takes me a lot longer to consume those 40 calories than it does to scoff a bar of chocolate!

I didn't get to meet my friend in the end, due to aforementioned storm faff; plus the roads are horrendous from flooding/traffic, so I've bailed and spent my evening sorting out the internet. On the bright side, I've managed to save all the booze calories I would have otherwise had; and I'm under 1200 calories today.

ponygirlcurtis · 17/09/2016 07:28

Goodness Dyrne that sounds like some awful weather. Probably a good idea to have stayed indoors last night.

I decided to tackle my back garden lawn last night, which I have been ignoring for weeks - figured it would help bump my steps up. Had to strim it as it was so long. Took about 30mins. How many steps registered? None. Zero. Zip. Confused Must have been because I was going so slowly! It registered my increased heart rate though.

DS had a great time, he's knackered! Second load of washing (out of four!) is on, hope the weather stays dry here so I can get it all out.

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend, whatever you are up to.

Can someone tell me what that high protein grain you were talking about earlier is called? I've been scrolling back and forth but can't find it. Please and thank you
