Made well done on the calorie restraint. Cinder hope you enjoyed your conference. Hope good luck on the willpower front. You'll probably walk lots though. Loli try not to pay too much attention to one scale reading.

I'm finally down a lb. Which is still 2lbs more than my low of last Thursday. But at least it's finally going the right direction. My soreness has gone now, actually quite enjoyed the workout last night. I have 6 more nights at level 1, then I get to go through the same pain again for level 2!

Hopefully · 23/09/2016 07:45

loli 90% of that will be muscles retaining water to repair after spinning.

Not2bObvious · 23/09/2016 08:03

Soreness much reduced here too sugar, sorry the scales is still being a meanie - my scales battery is run out, had to find a new one, now stuck in morning madness so weighing in shortly.
Aww loli that absolutely sucks but you really didn't do anything to earn that so accept its a blip and let it go. Feeling v drained today, the witch has hit, this normally means pig out to the max but I don't have time to undo major damage so I'll need to show some restraint (that would be groundbreaking!)
Tales or wails from the scales to come...watch this space

MustBeThin · 23/09/2016 08:05

Hello everyone, welcome newbies. Not read all the posts can't believe how quick this thread moves. I'm back after my first 10 day holiday and had my first weigh in this morning. Scales are up 4lb to 10st 10 not done any logging at all so it's not too bad. I'm up the same amount as last holiday so hopefully it's mostly water retention. I feel bloated and my ankles are puffy. Hmm anyone would think I'm 86 not 26.

Keep up the good work everyone. Grin

Not2bObvious · 23/09/2016 08:35

Hope your holiday was great must, 4lb on a holiday is nothing, half is probably bloat as you mention the puffy ankles (had a memory of puffy ankles/cankles when pregnant, bleurgh)
Newly battery'ied scales is only just missing out on being battered! 11.3, down .2 from yesterday & up .4 on last Friday. I did do a fair bit of nibbling last night and it's totm so I'm not going to read anything into it. Getting the hair done later, then lunch with a friend, then home to steak & chips. Here we go again on the weekend weakness! If I can just not lose the plot and stick to main meals, I won't do mad damage. Might buy myself my favourite choc bag & 1 bag of crisps, that way I can look forward to them rather than eating everything in sight. Off to mfp my day, happy Friday all

Bathsheba3 · 23/09/2016 09:12

Don't despair Loli - you really ARE doing what you should be doing. Your body is just readjusting to the decreased calorie intake, and increased activity. It will come off - don't be disheartened. A big chunk will come off in whoosh sooner-or-later. If you are following the calories, and the exercise on top, it will.

Welcome back from hols must. 10 10 - compared to where you were this time last year is still v impressive !!!

Glad you are down 1lb Sugar. I'm down another 1lb too. 11s in sight - just 2.5 lbs away. A v good goal to aim for over the next 7 days, but a tad too optimistic I think. Will give it a go.

Not - don't give in to the witch's cravings this weekend. Dig your heals in as much as you can. You'll feel a load lighter mid next-week for it.

Am still off the wine, and feeling really good for it in the mornings would still kill for a glass every evening. give my little halo a polish Halo

Sugarandsalt · 23/09/2016 09:19

Thanks all. I'm just disheartened that I worked so hard to get into the 11s and now seem so far away from it!

I have 2 work conferences coming up in the next 6 weeks, and I have a leather pencil skirt which would be ideal for the social side of it. I currently can get into it but I look a little stuffed into it. How many lbs to get it to sit nicely I wonder?

Not2bObvious · 23/09/2016 09:37

Don't despair sugar, it's only 2lb. I reckon that's still some of your weekend away just hanging around. I think that your body gets used to being deprived of calories then when we hit it with a larger than normal influx it can take over a week to straighten back out. If you have 6 weeks before you have to wear the skirt then you'll be fine! If it's only a tad tight 3-5lb should probably make it slinky.
Bath another pound that's class!! So now you need to lose 2.6 to get into 11's and I need to lose 3.2 (my scales measures in .2 increments) and we have 7 days. Let's Bob the builder it - "Can we do it? Yes we can!"
Wouldn't it be brilliant? Sigh....

MustBeThin · 23/09/2016 09:42

I had a great holiday thanks. 😆

Well came back from Asda, went to the loo Blush got back on the scales as I'd not had breakfast and I felt less bloated and the scales showed 10st 9 so maybe only 3lb gain after all. Grin

Ahhh weekends are terrible temptation aren't theyou Not I thought about eating my left over haagen dazs tomorrow but think I'll have to see what the scales are saying first.

Well done for staying away from the wine Bath

coragreta · 23/09/2016 10:05

I'm disheartened too. Still up 1/2lb and I'm going to be 1681 today due to the cookies someone brought in to the office.

Sugarandsalt · 23/09/2016 10:26

Well done bath. Cora we are on the disheartened bench together! Welcome back must 3lbs over a 10day holiday is pretty good (I did worse than that last weekend!).

I got my schedule all mixed up this morning, thought I had a lecture at 10 so came in early to catch up beforehand. Turns out lecture was moved to 12 but they only told me at the last minute (although the students knew well in advance!). On the upside I've got a good bit done early (despite my frequent short breaks for this thread!) so I should get done after my evening sessions at 430. And with all the walking between places I've racked up 9000 steps already. Win!

BitOutOfPractice · 23/09/2016 10:34

I put 7lbs on on my holiday must so really, you can't have tried very hard at all Grin

9000 steps already sugar. I've done 805 Blush

Sugarandsalt · 23/09/2016 10:48

It racks up fairly fast- walk to nursery/tube in morning (about 1.5km) then tube to office (1.2km), then up and back between office and other buildings 2/3 times a day. Back to tube, nursery, home generally takes me to 13000-15000. Tomorrow I'll probably only have 5000 or so though!

Not2bObvious · 23/09/2016 12:24

Took a snap of this at the hairdresser, good advice on weekend eating (doesn't mention 🍷 though!)

MFP thread 5
Hopefully · 23/09/2016 12:49

not2be good ideas in that article. We used to do Friday steak night, but I've really gone off meat recently, hardly ever cook it. I do find that catching up on sleep boosts my weight loss - I am sleep deprived all week and I'm sure all those essential weight management hormones don't get a look in. If I am due a whoosh it always comes after a good 8 hours sleep instead of my usual 6.5.

I have literally no idea how many steps I do. Maybe there's a pedometer app for an iPhone? Would be interesting to know.

Sugarandsalt · 23/09/2016 12:56

I use an iPhone app called pacer. It talks to MFP too. It's only available on the 6 and above though.

MustBeThin · 23/09/2016 14:18

😀 thanks. I don't know why I don't put more on on holiday tbh but I'm not complaining. Maybe it's because I eat lots of protein and not many carbs? At home I eat loads of carbs. Don't know, I did eat a few pudding and chocolate bars too Blush but I do quite a lot of walking about while I'm there.

Not2bObvious · 23/09/2016 15:38

I'm was over my 1200 cals by lunch! Lovely wrap with chicken followed by 2 extremely choccie bikkies. I may be overestimating calorie contents but better safe than sorry. Won't eat until my dinner, which is steak, planned before I read that feature. I'm definitely not as sore but still aching a bit so I've changed in my pj's & gorgeous dressing gown (still love love love it😉) lounging on the couch. Lazy Friday time!

DawheadAwgusEeentock · 23/09/2016 17:47

I am v embarrassed for being so bad at posting regularly. 2 really busy work days so just caught up now.

Millions of posts since Tuesday, so just a few honourable mentions this time Wink

  • Well done Sesame on the 9's wahoo Star.
  • Not and Sugarandsalt great stuff on the exercising but sorry about the DOMS. Think of the abs you'll have Grin
  • Bath you win the thread with the post about Fitter's pants Grin. And well done on the loss too Star!
  • Wally 14kg in 8 weeks is so brilliant Star
  • Loli that was awful about your DH in hosp. Great that you're keeping going to spinning! And you and cora should ignore those horrible scales today.
  • Welcome Salutary and UpOn Flowers
  • keepon 3lbs is great congrats Star
  • Overtired you are doing really great - keep up the good habits.
  • madein glad the exam went well!
  • Must glad you had a lovely holiday - 3/4lbs is nothing after hols - well done!

So, my weigh-in day was Wednesday and the scales said I lost 1.7kg ~almost 4 lbs. If I'd been able to post on Weds I'd have given myself a Biscuit. How could I lose 1.7kg on 9700 cals but gain 0.7kg the week before on 14700 Angry.

Anyway, so I didn't believe it and ignored it and just felt cross, but had a sneaky weigh-in today and it said 70.9kg Grin (~11st 3lbs) which means I'm back on target after all my misdemeanors - 9lbs in 7 weeks yay. I will make up for it today though as we are going out for a naughty dinner so I'll be coming in at 1860 I reckon. I've been good Weds and yesterday (1390 and 1170) though and going to a rugby match tomorrow so hopefully the walking and the bloody cold wind in the stand will burn some of the calories off.

There were some posts about wardrobes and clothes in the last few days that rang true with me. Got to visit an office yesterday (not sure if I mentioned before that I wfh) and it was such a relief to have a choice of trousers that fit me. I've been starting to sort through my clothes and in the trousers analysis I have about 25% size 14/16/18s and the rest are 10/12s sigh. It's probably the same for jumpers and tops. I hope this time I can keep going and actually start fitting into some of them.

Did I say yet that you are all brilliant Flowers I know for me, selfish at it may sound, having this community is fantastic for keeping me motivated Blush.

Sugarandsalt · 23/09/2016 17:48

Not2b lazy Friday sounds lovely! I finished early but stupidly went wandering around shops and now at moving very slowly through tube stations at rush hour.

StewardsEnquiry · 23/09/2016 18:23

Wow this thread has exploded! Well done everyone on such great progreds. I just can't keep myself in the zone for more than a few days at the moment. Still, here I am for another try!

Not saying what my weight is today because I am so shocked but let's just say I deserve every ounce of it.

Calories so far today: less than 100
Done a 30 min run round the block.
Going out for dinner but determined to make good choices.

Will try to stick to it properly this time and get some of this stupid regain off.

Not2bObvious · 23/09/2016 19:30

I was wondering where you'd got to stew, glad you're back. Less than 100 cals at 6pm??? Gosh I hope that's a typo, if it's not you must be wall falling.
Lazy day going well, sipping some 🍷

Sugarandsalt · 23/09/2016 22:01

Welcome back stew. I also hope you've had more than 100cals.

I've just had a very late dinner. Kitchen closed at 1375cals, 75 over my target. Did day 5 of the 30day shred and walked 17650 steps in the end. Don't think I can face my scales still telling me I'm over 12stone tomorrow.

madein1995 · 23/09/2016 23:34

Evening everyone, haven't read through the thread but will do tomorrow and hope everyone is ok Smile finishing at 1567 which isnt too bad for a friday - I have let myself go a bit and enjoyed myself
I missed breakfast, and ate mushroom soup and bread and butter and a 10 cal jelly for lunch (440)
Snack - chewits (115) and 4 teaspoons nutella (eaten off spoon - 144)
Tea - Chicken stir fry (429)
Ate a KFC chicken bite (100 calories) - mum picked it up on way home from work but I limited myself to the one chicken bite
Wine (334 calories)
Shocking how many calories are in wine, may have switch to vodka and coke Smile Gonna try and be good and within my calorie limits between now and next Saturday as organised a night out and I know I'll end up drinking calories plus a takeaway so want to allow for that Smile mum has a week off next week and will be cooking more - a lasagne, leek and potato soup, chicken curry, potato pancakes and stew has already been promised. Also planning family trip to local ice cream parlour in the week, I'll just be low calorie the rest of the day

Wallywobbles · 24/09/2016 06:35

Welcome Overtired- I only found time for sport when I got help. I had an au pair who picked up the kids and prepared our evening meal - life changing.

My kids now leave for school at 6.45 and get home at 7.15 and I am retraining to be a computer programmer (in theory). So currently I have time to do some sport (and play ponies).

The last 2 days I've broken my 1km swimming barrier which is good.

Yesterday weighed in at 83.4 or 13.03 stone, so pretty close to going into the 12 stone bracket which is exciting.

I also saw the foot and posture doctor who was ace. She's spent ages on my right leg and foot and she kindly told me I have rather flat feet and that I lean forward instead of standing upright! So sexy.

She is going to make me a pad for my right foot to sort out the internal hematoma which has not been able to heal for over a year. So that's extra nice if it works.

She was so nice I've booked appointments with her for 3 of the kids and DP who has back issues she might be able to help with.
