Week 1 done-lost 2 lbs so really pleased and motivated to keep going! This thread is great!

Bathsheba3 · 12/09/2016 08:38

Amazing Call - hope you are feeling delighted with yourself as you should be. It really does work. Keep strong, and plodding on.

Sorry to hear about your blip Not. You don't sound too despondent (but I bet you are - I would be). Chinese is all salt & sugar. Instant bloat & water retention. But you know the score, & you know what to do.

Well done waiting as well!

Bathsheba3 · 12/09/2016 08:41

meant to say well done to Made too - sounds as though you are really getting into the swing of things. Hope you see a loss v soon. I have some weights somewhere. And really need to do sit-ups You have inspired me - busy with work today/tomorrow, so will plan for a serious toning-session on Weds.

FearsomeNasalHairs · 12/09/2016 08:53

Thanks everyone for the congratulations, feeling pleased but a little bit wary that later I will look at the scales and see a 2lb gain or something. Will believe it when I see it! I will be honest the health benefits to being overweight instead of obese are really spurring me on as well, I spent the first Half of the year so poorly that I couldn't even walk up the stairs at home without stopping half way due to heart palpitations and I'd like to be healthy and skinny(er) for the new year.
sesame do you mind me asking how tall you are? My healthy bmi is about 10stone, I haven't really looked at it as like I said previously my whole adult life I've never Managed to get below 12stone. So the idea of getting to 10 seems so surreal.
I've been thinking a lot about loose skin and looking good, how to incoporate some exercise into my day. This morning I managed 17 mins of 30 day shred before I collapsed red faced on the floor! Blush
Still that's 17 minutes I would not have been able to do a few weeks ago

SesameSparkle · 12/09/2016 09:19

hopefully: learning to dress myself well and make the most of what I do have has helped me accept and appreciate the body I have. This!

call phenomenal loss! Star

waiting well done

not fingers crossed you can ditch the bloat quickly

fear I'm 5ft4, so hit healthy bmi at 10st6 I think. The idea of getting to 10st is surreal for me too and I would have been a teenager the last time I was that low. Definitely focus on losing those bmi points - I felt huge health gains transitioning into the 'overweight' range and physical activity felt so much easier.

Wallywobbles · 12/09/2016 09:34

I've posted this on the VLCD thread too, but if anyone on the thread wants about 10 pairs of new and newly new pairs of size 18 jeans with a 29/30 leg. They are mostly from Cotton Trader and suit a shape with a waist and arse.

FearsomeNasalHairs · 12/09/2016 09:57

Wow call 8lbs!! Not sure how I misse that earlier but great job Star Star

madein1995 · 12/09/2016 10:07

call that is fab and thanks to everyone for their kind words. I've lost a pound this week, happy with that. I'm over the pool now and it's closed til 12 boo hiss, but the health suite is open so I'm going to go for a jaccuzi and sauna (non food treat to myself), walk the dog later on and do some sit ups, and go for a swim/aqua gym tomorrow afternoon and then an aqua aerobic class in evening (would prefer to swim in morning but can't as I'm due my weekly grilling at the job centre). Just eating my banana then I'm going in for a nice jaccuzi, might be good for my aching limbs

Sugarandsalt · 12/09/2016 10:12

Call I think the only word is wow! What a fantastic start! Well done also to waiting and made.

Not2bObvious · 12/09/2016 10:17

Thanks bath, you're right I'm a bit😡 But not despondent as I know it's a physical impossibility to have gained that over 3 days. If I counted my activity against calorie intake I broke even. And I'd feel that weight in my clothes too. It's all good, that scales will be under 11.3 this Friday, I doubt I'll get a 2lb loss if 3 days out of 7 are break even but over time I'll get there😉

Callmesausage · 12/09/2016 11:01

Thanks all, very pleased with myself 😇. It's a good start, now just aiming to have a loss each week if possible.

Well done Waiting and everybody else, come Christmas well have lost a massive amount between us.

It's interesting the discussion on body shape, size, bmi etc. I got down to about 11 7 at my lowest last time and was still technically overweight and my bmi still wasn't in the healthy range, but I felt and looked fine and was wearing size 12 and 14 clothes. Basically I just think you need to keep an open mind and stop when you're comfortable with yourself. I shudder to think what my skin will be like after gaining and losing it twice! Yuk! Still, I know I'm going to feel better, just need to start saving for some reinforced underwear Smile

Hopefully · 12/09/2016 13:09

call that's amazing! Well done!

waiting and well done as well!

not2b we can sit on the bloaty bench. Only for a couple of days with a bit of luck.

Ended up having cake for my morning snack Hmm as went to a cafe with DD, but now feel so sick that I haven't eaten any lunch apart from one oatcake, so it's not all terrible. Still have 650 calories to get through the rest of the day, just need to make sure they consist of something actually nutritious. Might do courgette 'pasta' for dinner with prawns.

SesameSparkle · 12/09/2016 13:20

wally great news you are ditching those jeans. It was a very big deal when I got rid of all my size 20s.

made Jacuzzi and sauna sound like a lovely reward - enjoy!

not you will get there!

call love the idea of thinking about how much weight we would lose between us by Xmas. I wonder what that would be equivalent to? A couple of baby hippos...? Grin

FearsomeNasalHairs · 12/09/2016 14:39

Ooh I love the equivalent idea.. Just had a quick google, and 4 pounds = an ostrich egg..

Callmesausage · 12/09/2016 14:51

Fearsome, oh yes please (I'm so glad somebody offered to do one). I love a spreadsheet too, but will have a job change coming up soon and lots of travel do could see me starting it then then never keeping it updated!

Bathsheba3 · 12/09/2016 17:19

ha ha Fearsome! That's hilarious. By your list I need to loose an average 2-year old. Blush

Funnily enough when I was jogging last week I was wondering how much a bag of potatoes (translate = spuds!) was, & how easier life is to not have to lug one round with me. I imagined the whole lot on my hips (bum bag type thing), or in a rucksack. I reckon I'm about 1 bag (2.5 kg / 5?6? lb) down already. official WI tomorrow.

Haven't eaten much today. Bizarrely, I haven't been in the mood Hmm. Very unlike me. Perhaps the mini-heatwave reminding me (again) that I still have no nice clothes to wear can't bear to expose myself when the sun is out or temperature exceeds 20 degrees.

Lolimax · 12/09/2016 17:25

I've either lost a wallaby or a microwave! Love it lol! Whether it's being by the sea, being out or routine I don't know but I'm starving! I've been so good today. 2 Ryvita for breakfast with peanut butter, out for lunch and I had ricotta stuffed chicken breast with salad but now I'm SO hungry. I did swim this morning though. Maybe a milky cuppa will do the trick?

Bathsheba3 · 12/09/2016 17:32

Lol A microwave!!! Reminds me of that book Around Ireland with a Fridge.

Bathsheba3 · 12/09/2016 17:33

sorry - microwaves & fridge talk. And there's you starving hungry. Yes to a cuppa

Sugarandsalt · 12/09/2016 17:38

I've lost either a giant porcupine or a bale of hay. And an average 2 year old twice over! My DD is a few lbs lighter than an average 2 year old and I knew I lost her twice over a few lbs ago!

FearsomeNasalHairs · 12/09/2016 17:39

Haha bath I need to lose a cinder block to put me at healthy bmi, or an average human leg to be at my target!
lolli i bet it's the sea air, your on holiday enjoy your coffee! How did the mr Kipling tea bags work out? (I think that was you right?)

off to check if nn cinderbelly is available....

Cinderbelly · 12/09/2016 17:44

It worked!!! Grin
