I feel better knowing there are other sober September'ers out there bath, although I'm a bit of a fraud as I will drink tomorrow and Sunday Been nibbling a bit this avo but I'm not going to get bent out of shape about it, last weekend went well sticking to and average of 2200 over Friday to Sunday, although I am aiming to bring that down this weekend to achieve the full 2lb off by next Friday.
Hope you hanging in there?

Hopefully · 09/09/2016 19:16

sugar it's mega easy. I use this recip but sub veg oil for coconut oil. It is calorific, but a lot cleaner than the crap you can buy.

Emily I always do better on days when I plan my calories in advance too. I just am not organised enough to do it each day.

not2b thanks for asking. Not too horrendous in the end. Came in at 1,650, but went for an hour's brisk walk and did some yoga, so I reckon I've net no more than 1,450 even allowing for MFP's shitty exercise calorie calculator. Going to drink plenty of water this evening and keep fingers crossed for a smidgen more loss tomorrow!

waitingforgodot · 09/09/2016 19:27

Hi can I join in? I want to shift about 12 pounds. I've just discovered my fitness pal. I'm on day 3 of 1200 cals a day. Hopefully I can sustain it!

FearsomeNasalHairs · 09/09/2016 19:29

Evening all, just a quick check in from me, very happy today 1lb down! Smile
Also I put my jeans on for work this morning -casual Friday, and needed to use the next hole down on my belt. Happy days Smile

Hope everyone's had a great day, sorry I've not read all the updates properly to comment as I'm about to run out the door to take DS football practice, will try to come back later

coragreta · 09/09/2016 19:30

Urgh my husband is so unsupportive. Done my run and planned pasta for tea. Husband comes in begging for a takeaway. Looks like I'm having a Greek wrap for tea. (No idea how to log it? Surely it's not too many calories?)

Lolimax · 09/09/2016 19:46

Evening. As my (post spin bike) legs are still aching and like jelly I've had to forget any idea of exercise today which is very annoying but I've eaten well and have kept under 1200 calories-
Overnight oats
Skinny soup and a fat free yogurt
4 Quorn sausages with vegetable bake
2 cups of tea, 3L water.
I'm exhausted as well which doesn't help. I'll get up early for a swim tomorrow try and stretch out these burning muscles.
Oh and I bought some flavoured green tea earlier- Cherry Bakewell and Salted Caramel. Anyone tried them?

Hopefully · 09/09/2016 20:39

Waiting welcome, and you're clearly doing better than me - I don't think I have actually clocked in below 1,200 once in three months or so!

Cora I have taken to just saying "NO" to DH when he suggests takeaway. Easier than resisting once the menu is in front of me.

Not2bObvious · 09/09/2016 20:48

Log a wrap and then whatever meat it contains cora, sauces etc. Break it down & you'll get a close enough estimation. But above all enjoy it, it's not an every day occurrence. Well done on the run😉

SesameSparkle · 09/09/2016 20:57

waiting welcome

fear well done!

cora you could estimate and add the ingredients one by one (eg bread, sauces, oil, cheese etc.), or search for wrap variants on mfp, or do a quick add for X estimated calories. An m&s veggie wrap could easily come to 500-600cal for me, so perhaps that's a start?

Well I had half a bowl of chips as part of my lunch today. I estimated 300cal for it and I can tell you they really weren't worth it. Kitchen closed 4 calories under. I'm thinking now I'm a bit lighter I might have to set a new mfp target as 1660 calories now seems to be too generous a target to lose half a pound a week.

madein1995 · 09/09/2016 22:12

Good evening everyone Smile day got off to a relatively good start with jam on toast, a banana, soup and a slice of bread and a chocolate digestive, and I would have ended up under calories if I'd eaten my planned tea. I didn't though, and ended up having a dominos instead - luckily due to walking/aqua gym and sit ups today I am 'only' over my allowance by 76 calories so I hope it won't have too much of an affect. Going to be better tomorrow - milk and a banana for breakfast, being realistic will prob have a slice of leftover pizza for lunch with a big salad, then tomorrows tea will be tonights planned tea - a stir fry, so relatively light and healthy. Won't have wine tomorrow evening to compensate and will go to the aqua gym again and do some sit ups.

I'm also enjoying working with weights - Im just about managing to get on and off the floor now so lie on the floor with my knees bent and feet on groud, weight on stomach and move to touch my heels with my hands - quite tough but meant to be good for the stomach muscles apparantly. The dog seems to like my weight - I left it on the floor while I was getting up and she picked it up and ran outside with it so must think it's a toy Grin tries to ignore fact that Scottish Terrier could pick up weight in mouth and run with it easier than her owner could do arm raises with it, clearly the dog is fitter than me

Not2bObvious · 09/09/2016 22:22

I've closed the kitchen, gone to bed. Finished the day at 1550, which is unheard of for a Friday! Well chuffed. Well done made, weights are great, I need to get back into them - they make a real difference to shape & tone. At least you have leftover pizza so you didn't eat it all. As long as you enjoyed it, that's what matters, it's the weekend - an occasional pizza or wrap or few chips doesn't mean failure, it means balance. Cause when I go out for my Chinese on Sunday, ain't going be no guilt coming from me😖

Not2bObvious · 09/09/2016 22:23

That face was meant to be this 😉, not 😖
I feel 😬 about my treat meal. Just so we're clear...no guilt whatsoever 😇

Sugarandsalt · 09/09/2016 22:35

Kitchen closed here at 1340, 20 under target. Welcome waiting!

I don't really like pizza but made has made me crave one!

madein1995 · 09/09/2016 22:46

It was yummy - the bbq texas meaty one, stuffed crust too - only had 3 slices and 2 doughballs because its filling but it was worth it. Hi waiting Smile. Normally I'm ok at saying no to a takeaway (as round here its a choice of kebab shop, chinese or Indian and that gets boring) but I'm a sucker for a nice pizza!

Hopefully · 10/09/2016 05:56

Another 0.25lb down today. It's nice to be losing, but quarter of a pound at a time is a bit dull! Mind you, after yesterday's over consumption I should b grateful to lose anything at all.

Going away for an overnight visiting friends. Main hurdles are going to be (a) national trust cafe lunch today (maybe soup and half the bread?), (b) I think something pasta based for dinner (am contemplating offering to throw together a salad, then I can have tiny lasagne and huge salad) and BBQ tomorrow (again, will try to avoid the bread and pile up the salad). Plus two 2.5hr+ car journey. Must. Not. Snack.

Sugarandsalt · 10/09/2016 06:58

Hope I'm also down 0.25lbs which makes 1lb this week. I'm considering it a major victory as I'm pretty sure I ovulated earlier in the week and feel the bloat which seems to last 2 weeks now.

Your plan sounds good. Maybe take some fruit to snack on, something that involves peeling and eating slowly? I got these strange seaweed thin things in a supermarket this week (made by itsu) with only 22cals a packet. There's about 10 in a packet so keep hands and mouth occupied a while.

Not2bObvious · 10/09/2016 07:02

I'm showing a gain on the scales, back to 11.4.2 but I think it's because I'm a bit bunged up. No big deal she sez through gritted teeth Anothe quarter pound isn't shabby hope but I know what you mean, it's nice to see a whole number down. Hope you have a lovely day with your friends, you can only eat in the car what you take in the car unless you stop on the way so it's in your hands. No rice cakes & nutella😉 Decent breakfast before you set out and then eat nowt til lunch, it could be a good thing. I'm working on my food plan for today, have to fit in wine😁

Not2bObvious · 10/09/2016 09:55

Me again, back from a 25 min jog, stop to shop, then 20 min walk back lugging a ton of food. I'm toying with the idea of a second walk to the shops as the weathers ok here and yesterday I only got 7000 steps in. Would help keep me away from the food as well! Roast chicken and trimmings for dinner with some🍷Kicking back with a cuppa after a brekkie of rashers & brown toast, 'twas delicious.
Very good to see the back of another pound sugar, congrats!

EmilyDickinson · 10/09/2016 11:22

Welcome Godot (love your username).

Well done on tightening your belt Fearsome. Milestones like that make the weight loss real.

Interesting tea flavours Loli!

Sesame I'm finding that my tastes are changing as I do MFP. I really have to think about what I spend my calorie allowance on and am prioritising proper meals over treats. Some of the unhealthy stuff seems less attractive to me as the calorie spend seems excessive compared to the reward. Recently I had a day where I skipped lunch so that I had enough calories to indulge in coffee and a tiny cake with a friend. The cake was delicious but the realisation that I couldn't fit lunch and a cake into my spend for that day had me questioning whether it was really worth it.

Very impressed with all your exercise made.

Well done on the losses Hopefully and Sugarand salt.

Yesterday the scales showed that I'd reached my target weight. Yay! So, now to the bit that was tricky last time. Keeping it off. I know what not to do. Last time I stopped counting calories, stopped logging onto MFP and stopped weighing myself and basically went, "Phew, that's done, now I can go back to normal and eat as much as I like of whatever I like."

My plan is to let myself go onto the maintenance calorie level (1,540), 1,200 is doable but I find it hard, especially as three reasonable meals a day doesn't leave much left over for cups of tea and fruit even.

Truth be told, although I look much better and my clothes aren't tight any more I'm still a bit podgy round the middle, but I know that I should really try and get rid of that by building more exercise and activity into my life.

Yesterday I did go a bit over my new larger allowance Blush but the need to collect one of my children from a party at midnight did at least keep my away from the wine!

B - porridge with skimmed milk, tea with skimmed milk

L - carrot soup, banana

D - M&S vegetarian lasagne, steamed vegetables, M&S sticky toffee pudding

S - 1 cup of tea, 2 cups of coffee, 2 cups mint tea, water.

Total - 1630 (90 calories over the allowance)

Sugarandsalt · 10/09/2016 12:36

Congrats Emily that's so exciting!! I can't ever imagine reaching my goal weight- it seems like I'm never going to get under my 12 stone barrier let alone into the 10s!

I've woken up with a horrible summer cold so I'm not doing much today.

So far no food as I had a lie in. Going to have eggs, bacon medallions and spinach for lunch (300cals) and some fish with pea puree and butternut squash for dinner (600ish cals, haven't calculated yet) which leaves me some room for snacks.

Sugarandsalt · 10/09/2016 12:38

Oh not2b really don't be discouraged on a little gain, it does bob up and down a little naturally, the overall trend is important.

Bathsheba3 · 10/09/2016 14:02

Utter torture. Am watching Bake off Cakes on catch-up with DS. Drooling. Envy Thinking of Mustbe as they make Jaffa Cakes

Not2bObvious · 10/09/2016 14:12

Thanks sugar, I'm not taking it as a real gain just irritating after being so good but as I've been known to say to others weight loss isn't linear. I'm tired & a bit cranky now after my second walk, I think I need a Nana nap😉

Sugarandsalt · 10/09/2016 15:55

Well I only had one turkey rasher and about 2/3 of my eggs. DD tool the rest. Then I got one of favourite snacks (tandoori prawns and calamari with yoghurt dip from m+s, 130cals) and DD ate all my prawns. She must be going through a growth spurt. I'm pleased she's eating so I can't complain (she's very slight, and on the 2nd centile for BMI for her age) but I figure I must deserve another snack later!

coragreta · 10/09/2016 17:18

Well done on teaching your target weight. I'm still 2stone 8lbs away!

I decided to weigh my self before and after my lo's morning feed. It worked out as a lb and 1/4! Defiantly going to make sure I feed before I weigh in future!
