I've decided my scales are definately broken. Wiifit, same clothes as yesterday, same place up in the floor, and I'm up 2lb to 13st11 Sad my bathroom scales still said 13.5lb
I'm going with the wiifit weight for now, it gave me 194lbs 5 days ago and 193lbs today.. So even if I'm up more than I thought I'm still down.
I will look into where locally has a proper scale that I can get to every week, for now the wiifit will do..

Glad I saved my calories (plus lunch I didn't eat - you ladies are fab with the support by the way! I would never thought of eggs for breakfast if it wasn't for these threads)
Dinner was calorific, to the point I didn't want to eat it, but did obviously as it would have been rude to turn it away. Fried sausages, fried onions, cheesy mash and veg boiled with so much salt in the water it was all I could taste. Normally I would love The mash and gone for seconds, today I managed about 3 forkfuls.

On the plus side we all felt bloated after and I managed to pursuance DS to put down his iPad and come for a walk with me, so have hit my target of 10000 steps for the day!!

Sorry for the mammoth post, feeling a bit Confused and wobbly today

Hopefully · 07/09/2016 21:20

fearsome you're doing really well, just keep at it, ignore the broken scales, and you'll get there.

Kitchen closed at 1,398 today, reduced to only 35 cals over my 1,200 with exercise calories. Fingers crossed for a bit of a recovery from crumble indulgence tummy tomorrow!

Callmesausage · 07/09/2016 23:48

Day 3 down, come in at 1196 calories

madein1995 · 08/09/2016 00:26

Came in at 1390 today, most of it was 'good' food so I'm pleased. I'm going to try to have a lighter day tomorrow.
Breakfast was cornflakes, milk and a cuppa tea
Snack (as ate breakfast at 6) was half a slice of toast (a tiny slice and when weighed was 20 grams) and some light butter
Lunch was a few slices roast beef, carrots, broccoli, cauli, a few roast potatoes, 2 Yorkshire puddings and gravy. I resisted ice cream afterwards and had some yogurt instead.
Tea was a wrap with chicken tikka filler, a banana and a wagon wheel (at 4 due to an evening class)
Got home at 10 ravenous so a Weetabix and milk and a chocolate jam teacake thing. Could have definitely been better nutrition wise, will be eating more fruit and veg tomorrow. Went to physio this morning and have some exercises to help me. Am going to go the local leisure centre in the morning and book myself in for an aqua gym induction as it'll help with fitness and physio said it'll be good for knee. I need to work on making my snacks more filling and healthy too - am proud tonight though, chose Weetabix over popping into subway or something on the way home or raiding the crisp cupboard Blush thank you for being so nice everyone, and I hope everyone is doing well

Hopefully · 08/09/2016 04:41

Phew, crumble tummy is no more, am back to weight of 3 days ago. I'm sure that (a) eggs for breakfast and (b) having a decent lunch so I didn't spend the afternoon starving and snacking both helped. Snacking is my nemesis.

Lolimax · 08/09/2016 06:01

Morning! Slept loads last night I think a night off from life did me good. Woke up to a weight of 13stone 10 so I'm well chuffed (starting weight in April 16stone 2).

Not2bObvious · 08/09/2016 06:28

Loli that is fantastic, just under 2 and a half stone since April, wow! And hurrah to crumbly tummys demise hope. I agree, getting the start/middle of the day right sets the tone for the latter part of the day. I've also found if I try "save" my calories for an evening (going out or having company) I'm more likely to go off course by maybe 1,000 cals. Whereas if I ate well during the day, I would probably only eat 500 cals more than normal - which is a hell of a lot easier to shake off in the days after. Or better still to prepare/allow for in the days before. Plan plan plan is the key. Well done made on coping with a very busy/long day with no slip ups. Weighing in shortly. Hope I have good news too!

dorothymichaels · 08/09/2016 06:56

Morning folks, some advice needed.

All is going well here. However, on Saturday I'm going to a wedding. This involves getting up at silly o'clock, having breakfast at the airport, flight to the other end of the country, 90min drive to wedding location eating lunch on the go.
The wedding itself is going to be fab with tapas, curry, and lots of lovely wine (groom is a wine person). We're camping and there will be bacon butties for guests the next day.

Tips for getting through the weekend without worrying about food please? Do I just eat a little of everything offered and dance it off? I want to enjoy myself and food and celebration is so much of that.
What would you do?

Not2bObvious · 08/09/2016 07:30

dorothy that sounds amazing! I'm really jealousEnvy Ok I say in the airport have eggs for breakfast, get a decent lunch (or pack something to eat en route) After that enjoy, put dieting out of you mind but a good tip is to focus on company, not food. Be a social butterfly! And for today & tomorrow be really good, no alcohol, lots of water, no "treats" If you lay the groundwork now, you won't regret it.

coragreta · 08/09/2016 07:34

Well done on the losses! Everyone seems to be doing well.
Dorothy. If it was me I would try and not over eat before the wedding and then just enjoy myself. Breakfast at the airport could easily be yoghurt and fruit or similar. Maybe take a packed lunch with you for lunch?
Then forget about it. It's one night and you'll have a great time.

EmilyDickinson · 08/09/2016 07:36

Sounds like you're going to have a fabulous day.

First of all I'd consider it a "maintaining" day rather than a weight loss day so set your calories for the day at that higher level. You'll have a better chance of sticking to it.

I would prepare and pack something low calorie, filling and nutricious for breakfast and lunch. Those are the two meals that you can easily calorie count and keep under control thereby hopefully saving some calories to spend on champagne, tapas and bacon butties.

Maybe look up the calories in various tapas to try and see what's better value for you calorie wise so you can make good choices.

And yes, dance, dance, dance and work off those calories.

Callmesausage · 08/09/2016 07:40

Well done Loli and hope. The wedding sounds fabulous, agree with the other comments and definitely loads of dancing.

Callmesausage · 08/09/2016 07:43

Also, not sure where you're flying from, if there is a Leon at the airport, they tend to do quite healthy stuff. There is one at Heathrow (think terminal 2).

sugarmonster64 · 08/09/2016 07:50

dorothy Most airports I think have a pret, eat or Leon which do porridge/egg pots etc which are good starters. If you're going to be drinking though I would make sure you're having enough that it doesn't go to your head not at all speaking from experience

2.5lbs down for me. Feeling very pleased and motivated. Got meals planned today other than breakfast - fish pie for tea and sushi lunch. Lots of meetings today too so less temptation to snack. Oh and should hit 10k steps

Callmesausage · 08/09/2016 07:54

Well done sugar, excellent loss

dorothymichaels · 08/09/2016 07:58

Thanks folks. Some good tips. It's Newcastle airport. Probably best bet is Greggs! They do porridge though and there is also a boots where I could get yoghurt and muesli. I've actually given up drinking while trying to lose weight but I will likely have a glass or two to toast the bride and groom then drink water. I will report back!

Sugarandsalt · 08/09/2016 08:05

Down to 12 2.5 this morning. Yay! Although I may simply have sweated out that half on given how hot it is!

Sugarm well done! Dorothy I agree with others- don't worry too much for one day. I've been at a few all day events since January and I've lost just shy of 4 stone. Airports in London tend to have a selection of chains like giraffe, eat, pret, Leon and itsu where you can get a reasonable filling breakfast with a calorie count. Then do a light lunch. At the wedding I would probably try to avoid the obviously creamy/pastry filled dishes (or have small portions) and watch the alcohol. But enjoy, it's a once off event!

Well done loli and hope. Loli I started off at 15 st 12 in January and am hovering just above 12 stone now so we started at a fairly similar place. I've plateau'd since the end of July but I was on holidays all of August where I mostly ate maintenance. My targets are modest now- aiming for 11 st 7 by xmas.

Hope snacking is my big nemesis too, I do it absentmindedly. I cook a lot and could eat an extra meal in bites and tastes if I don't consciously stop myself!

What's everyone got on their menus today. I've had overnight oats with almond milk (180cals) and have beef brisket in slow cooker which I'll have with leek/cannelini bean mash and some carrots (650cals). That leaves me 450 for lunch so I'll get a pack of sushi/salad and an apple.

FearsomeNasalHairs · 08/09/2016 08:06

Well done lolli and hope Star and thanks for the words of encouragement Star
I just need to remember this is a marathon, not a sprint!

dorothy I haven't really got any advice, just echoing what the others have said really, enjoy the wedding and don't focus on the calories that you can't control, my super skinny sister is always telling me that the key to weight management is 'a little bit of everything in moderation' so I would just take a packed lunch for the journey and then enjoy it when you get there.

FearsomeNasalHairs · 08/09/2016 08:08

Wow sugar have I read that right? Nearly 4 stone since January? That's fantastic!

Lolimax · 08/09/2016 08:24

Sugar you have done amazingly well! How different do you look? I'm aiming for 12stone 7. That's still slightly above my ideal weight (im 5ft 8 and a half) but and nearly 47 I also don't want to look drawn.
Dorothy I went to a wedding in France in August. We were actually there a week and I still managed to loose weight by walking loads but on the day I did drink wine but kept drinking pints of water. I had the fish starter but picked at everything else so I had a taste but didn't pig out. Then danced the night away.
Today's menu-
Overnight oats
Salad with Quorn chicken
Bacon wrapped chicken (boys are having hunters chicken) and veg
Then spin bikes tonight.
I've also switched from normal tea to some posh apple herbal tea from Tescos. I keep under 1200 calories but some days it's even lower than that. I'm really strict with myself and have no treats, no chocolate, biscuits or anything.

Not2bObvious · 08/09/2016 08:36

Back in from 30 min jog, coffee, post to Dorothy, then 25 min walk back - clean bathroom, shower, do kids hair, make my lunch, makeup, blow dry & dress. Breatheeee.....😁
11.4 this morning, down .2 from yesterday. If .6 goes by tomorrow I'll have hit the 2lb!! Off to drop kids to school & into work for a rest😉

dorothymichaels · 08/09/2016 09:13

The losses are inspiring folks, well done. Back in 2002 I lost four stone. It's taken 14 years, two kids, and being very happily married to put it all back on (and a little more). This time I'm middle aged and pre-menopausal. I don't think it'll be so easy!
Menu today:
Breakfast: Warburton's thin with bacon
Lunch: Another sandwich thin with tuna and salad and a packet of lights crisps
Dinner: Crab and green bean linguine

Tomorrow's dinner is going to be lentil soup from the slow cooker with half a small baguette.

Sugarandsalt · 08/09/2016 09:58

Thanks all. Loli I'm a few inches shorter than (5ft5) you so would ideally like to get to about 10stone, although I would probably happy with a healthy BMI (under 11stone).

I don't feel that I look much different although I know I must. I've measured inches monthly which is motivating- I've dropped from 36G to 32F (maybe more now actually, my bras are getting loose!), waist has gone from 36 to 28 inches and my hips have dropped from 48 to 40inches roughly.

Disappointingly I'm still finding it very hard to get clothes. I have a much smaller waist than hips/bust, and a fairly short body so I still feel that nothing sits right. I'm a 12 on top, 12-14 on bottom now though. Whereas I was at least 16 on top and was squishing myself into size 18 bottoms even though they were too tight.

Sugarandsalt · 08/09/2016 09:58

Everyone's meal plans sound great by the way!

EmilyDickinson · 08/09/2016 10:26

Well done sugarmonster, sugarandsalt, loli and hope, you're all doing brilliantly. Not I'm tired just reading about your morning!

Yesterday was a much better day for me. I was really busy all day and had no time or inclination for doing anything but sticking to the plan! I think being busy really helps for me.

B - porridge with skimmed milk, tea with skimmed milk - 346

L - low calorie soup - 150

D - Jamie 15 minute chicken with lentils - 616

S - coffee with semi skimmed milk, lots of mint tea, lots of water. - 25

Total - 1,137

Today I'll be having the same save for dinner which will be bolognese for the whole family. I need to make sure I have a small portion rather than a the mound of pasta and sauce I serve my teenagers.
