Fear, there was someone on another thread who used to weigh in once a week at boots - maybe that's an option? Probably only a £ or just use the wii as your scales or check Argos - a new scales could be got for a tenner? Main thing is weigh in with just 1 device, digital would be best. I have 2 scales and for 4 months I used to weigh in with them side by side (honestly such a loolah) I was always 1 pound lighter on my old scales. I ditched that & made my digital scales from Aldi the official one.
11.4.2 this morning, down .8 - delighted with that! Off out for my walk now to make sure I hit my 10,000 today. I find I pick off the kids plates too hope but I try now to keep busy while they're eating, drink water, chew gum. Basically find something to keep my mitts off the grub

Hopefully · 07/09/2016 07:06

Wally I love the idea of buying ponies as a diet distraction. I'm sure DH would be thrilled if I suggested similar Grin.

Just did a really good hour of yoga, which has got me off to a good start today. Just another 14 hours of willpower to get through!

Callmesausage · 07/09/2016 07:44

Well done Wally and Not

FearsomeNasalHairs · 07/09/2016 08:08

Thanks not that's a good idea I've set out some wiifit weighing clothes and I will make sure going forward I wear those when I weigh in. A lot of my problem is uneven floors in the house as well!
made the chocolates sound yum, everyone deserves a treat now and again Smile
hope I'm really jealous of your morning yoga, I can just about drag myself out of bed at 6:30 to get ready for work, let alone exercise! Sounds like a great start to the day,
wally my dd would love me forever if we brought a pony! I used to love going to the stables as a child, she's 3 now but I am definately going to take her for riding lessons when she gets a bit older.
I think that's everyone, the thread moves fast sorry to anyone I've missed.

Started today with low cal scrambled egg on toast, 2 eggs 2 tbsp of milk. First day back at school for DS today, that should add an extra 200 or so steps for me, yay! I can't seem to get past 4000 a day.
Off to a family members for dinner tonight, hard to calorie count when someone else is cooking so I've put the daily totals in this morningand left 600 as a buffer - hope that's enough!
I will report back later with weight, have a great day everyone Star

Bathsheba3 · 07/09/2016 08:16

Wally - great loss, and determination. And your resolve at just 1 glass champagne "over" in the whole 6 weeks is utterly remarkable.

I'm now 8 days no alcohol. Celebrated by 2lbs loss yesterday with oat cakes, cream crackers, and chocolate Blush. Naughty.

Not2b - congrats for you too - another loss. Slowly does it. I'm out for a walk with the hound soonish.

Up with the lark again Hopefully. I did yoga for a bit. Got rather distracted by the abs on the gorgeous guy who did it Wink. No self discipline to do that kind of stuff on my own at home. I should do yoga though - will be good to keep some of the demons in my head at bay.

Must - have an AMAZING holiday - you SO deserve it. Hope you feel brilliant in your new body.

Everyone else - chugging away like me - we CAN do it. We have to huh?

Bathsheba3 · 07/09/2016 08:18

Fearsome - enjoy the fact someone else is cooking for you this evening, savour every mouthful, eat slowly, and resist 2nds. Great forward planning though to leave yourself a buffer.

Callmesausage · 07/09/2016 09:50

Fearsome I always use the wiifit for weighing in, just try to make sure it's in the same position each time

MustBeThin · 07/09/2016 10:14

Well done on the losses Wally and Not2b

Thanks Bath it's funny really because I'm still shocked that I can fit into size 10s I still automatically want to pick up the big sizes in the shops because all of the other clothes seem to look too small before I try them on. I can tell I am a slim now when i look in the mirror but I thought I'd look thinner than I do at 10st 7 if that makes sense. All of my family think I look super slim though. I wish I had some before and after pics.

Still 10st 7 today Hmm think it's 2 weeks tomorrow that I've stayed at this weight.

Sugarandsalt · 07/09/2016 11:11

Hope I used to run a lot, stopped due to injury, gained a little weight. Then got pregnant, gained more and some more on maternity leave! So I think I've been focused on getting running to help maintain my weight. But need to look into something with less effect on my poor joints. I love yoga but am quite hyper mobile so have been advised to avoid this too. I'm thinking of spinning classes and Pilates if I can find classes near me which won't bankrupt me!

I'm 12 2 today. Desperate to get under 12 but feeling more bloated every day so think the next 10days will be a write off. I've finally stopped breastfeeding DD and my chest has deflated so I look a bit slimmer at least!

dorothymichaels · 07/09/2016 11:28

Hi everyone
Struggling to keep up with the thread. I've had a good few days. Breakfast today was 3 ryvita with some peanut butter and banana. Lunch will be sandwich thins with tuna mayo and salad. Dinner is baked potato and coronation chicken and more salad!

I've just been shopping so need to try and resist all the snacks I've bought for the rest of the family.

EmilyDickinson · 07/09/2016 13:34

Well done Must on being a size 10. When I had my big weight loss at the beginning of the year I revelled in the fact that I had to start wearing a belt with my trousers to keep them around my newly discovered waist!

I had a bit of a slip up yesterday. I did really well up to the evening meal (though felt starving!) I'd planned a Jamie 15 minute meal to serve 4. My DH and I tend to eat half one evening and half another evening. But. When I'd cooked it the per person portions looked tiny and I knew my husband, who is taller than me, very active and not overweight would balk at it, so I put out all 4 portions and told him to have as much as he wanted as I thought it would probably only do for one meal rather than two. So I definitely had more than the 550 calories or so I'd calculated on. And I had a glass of wine too. I put it all into MFP (I've assumed I had double the meal I should have had) and the day came out at 1,831 calories. Waaaay over my 1,200 allowance.

When I weighed this morning I was another 1/2 lb down so I don't think that yesterday evening's meal has hit the scales yet. I'm cautiously trying to stick to 1,200 today as I'm sure it's just a matter of time!

FearsomeNasalHairs · 07/09/2016 13:37

Still feeling full from my scrambled egg breakfast, not sure I can face lunch - this has never happened before Confused

Hope everyone's having a great day

SesameSparkle · 07/09/2016 13:49

This thread certainly does move fast. But I am really enjoying reading all the updates.

hopefully mfp really opened my eyes to the calorific value of all the snacks I consume through the day – mine are usually healthy things like nuts and fruits but they still add up.

wally well done on the loss and welcome to the ponies

fear I have a problem with uneven floors at home too, so tend to move the scales around a bit to get multiple readings until I get the one I want to see.

bath well done for staying off the booze, hope the chocolate was a good reward

must my weight is going down really slowly too. What is your target weight again?

Dorothy hands off those treats!

Emily I’m sure yesterday’s calories won’t matter once your week evens out

I’m now hovering just above 10st3, that pound doesn’t want to come off. I did have a good day yesterday – an early finish combined with a filling dinner meant I finished 200cal below target. Just got tempted by some home baking in the office today though, so may have just eaten those calories back… Hmm

Hopefully · 07/09/2016 15:00

Fearsome eggs are THE BEST for keeping me full - I had two boiled for breakfast with a slice of toast and kept going till lunch easily too.

Emily just think of it as a maintenance day!

My reward for getting to my last target arrived (I went for a felted wool casual coat thing instead of the cardigan I had planned) and it is so beautiful, I am completely in love. Am eyeing up my next reward now, which is keeping me on track today! Still have 400cals left for dinner, which is black bean stew so fairly low cal.

DawheadAwgusEeentock · 07/09/2016 15:38

Aw Dorothy I'm jealous of the graze boxes - a UK colleague introduced me to them and they are lovely but they won't deliver here to ROI - boo hiss. Well done on having a run of good days.

Loli that's brilliant that people are noticing - you are doing fantastically!

Not2b your calorie intake is v impressive and I love pasta too. I'm trying to convince H to try wholemeal (meal/wheat? not sure but the brown one Grin) but he is giving me Hmm looks as he thinks it looks revolting. That's a battle for another day. And Well Done on the loss!

Aw Hopefully I think we all need a few days at TDEE every so often - also I convince myself it makes the weight fall off that much faster when we start being strict again (disclaimer: no scientific basis for that). I am with you on the snacking challenge - snacks were 25% of my calories last week even though they're not pure chocolate Angry. And is it wrong that just reading about your rewards purchases gives me such a warm and fuzzy feeling? I can almost feel the felted wool through your post (yes am weird Grin).

cora I'm in awe that you do Pilates from youtube videos. Must confess I didn't even know that was possible. Tried pilates before and really enjoyed it but I don't know if I'd have the discipline to do it at home.

Sugarandsalt get well soon to your knee - so many of us with knee issues on here. (Can write an essay on mine again at some stage). Will be watching how you get on with different exercises as I might need to do that too soon Sad. Your meals look lovely and v tasty.

Must you are one of my poster-ladies Wink so the fact that you did so well without exercise is just double-bloody-amazing. Sorry you are going through a bit of a plateau again but you know another drop is not far away!

MadeIn well done on the calorie count - I can never seem to come in under target unless I have a soup day. You have a kindred chocoholic on here Wink but it's brilliant that you were able to stop at 3 - I couldn't trust myself to do that yet so I'm trying cold turkey again.

CallMe your calorie count is great too - aqua aerobics sound like such fun I'm really in awe of all these brilliant classes everyone is doing.

Fearsome I would echo the Boots scales - I used them for years - once a week and found them great. They give a little print-out and everything so you can keep records of the progress Grin. And you've hit one of the key things (or so I've read) for eating healthily - recognising when you're full/hungry. I am trying but not there yet and still eat out of habit a lot.

Wally WOW - 25-ish lbs in 6 weeks is amazing. You must be so determined and hopefully v proud of yourself. YY to what hopefully said about buying ponies as a food distraction - it's brilliant Grin.

Bathsheba Well done on the 2 lbs Star and the abstinence - do you feel different/better/worse without it?

Emily well done on the loss and I don't think 1 "bad" day will have too much impact. We do that too - the portions in books look tiny sometimes so we double up - it's v hard not to.

Sesame I don't think I could bypass home baking - it's the lovely smell that would set me off. But you are still on target for both days so 'tis fine Wink.

So...weigh in day... and apparently I've lost 1.3kg (almost 3 lbs) since last Wednesday? I don't know what's wrong with me but I won't allow myself to get excited. I know I should, but part of me doesn't believe it and part of me keeps thinking - well this won't last and I'll sabotage myself again soon. Terrible attitude isn't it.

If it is true I'm now at 72.3 kg (~11st 5ish) and I can only put it down to 2 things. 1) the c25k because according to MFP my daily avg last week was 1500 so there's no way I'd lose that much. After every c25k session I am absolutely drenched in sweat (sorry TMI) so maybe that's where the fat-burning is happening. 2) More TMI I always get an upset tummy around TOTM, so my intestines are probably not very full at the moment ahem Blush

I am getting v nervous about my knees though and c25k - I've had serious knee problems in the past and they were really grumbling last night during the jogging intervals. I would hate to give it up now because for the first time in years I've found something manageable that I enjoy and that seems to be working.

Bad day food-wise already today - coming in at 1600:
B: Porridge 190
L: Egg, sausages, bread and choccie biccies 845 (!!! Angry)
D: Hairy bikers chicken cordon bleu again - 565

Well done everyone and keep going!

coragreta · 07/09/2016 16:10

Well done on the loss. Make sure you keep going! You're doing great. I started c25k about 16 weeks ago and carried on to the 10k one. Did 8k on Sunday. I could barely do the minute run when I started.

If you want to try Pilates again just search it on YouTube. I follow Casey. Each video is 10mins and targets different areas so you can work out which ever body part you want. I like the back one. Need to get rid of my back fat! She does loads for beginners. I feel loads stronger. Can do a roll up and a few push ups now too.

MustBeThin · 07/09/2016 16:12

Thanks Emily, Sesame & Daw* Grin

Sesame I don't really have a target weight Blush I thought I'd give up after a week or two like usual so never thought I'd get this far. I've lost exactly 3st since 4th January and weigh 10st 7, my top end healthy BMI is 10st 11 so now I think I might just get to 10st and see how I feel. I don't think I want to be in the 9's though. It's going to be slow going getting to 10st, I can now go 2-3 weeks without losing anything. Hmm I'm hoping I don't gain too much on holiday and it reboots my loss speed. Last time I went on holiday I'd slowed down losing weight before I went (I was 11st 3-4) but when I came back it started dropping off me again like it did when I first started losing. I lost 5-6lb pretty quickly then slowed right down again. I think eating more food for a couple of weeks and then suddenly cutting down again somehow confused my metabolism or something. Fingers crossed it happens again Grin

EmilyDickinson · 07/09/2016 16:15

Haha Hopefully my thoughts exactly!

Dawhead congratulations on the loss. I'm sure all your exercise has made the difference, combined with sensible eating it's a real winner. (Note to self - start doing some exercise!)

Bathsheba3 · 07/09/2016 17:11

Well done Dawhead! You are obviously counting your calories properly, and sticking to them! The exercise is an added bonus on top. Be careful on your joints - stick to brisker walk while it takes all of your muscles, tendons & all the other stuff to wake up & get strong.

Yes I do feel better for the abstinence. Haven't been this long without alcohol since June last year Blush. My skin is far less puffy on my face, particularly around my eyes. And I do feel brighter in the mornings. I have also saved myself a small fortune in cash this week too - so spent that on my eyes - lash tint, eyebrow tidy etc! Shame I have the opposite problem with intestines - all rather congested - so still feeling lardy & bloated. Have to be strong though.

I'm going to get the hairy bikers diet book. I'm sick of the same old dinners.

Great to have another loss too Emily - albeit a small one. And you will get past the next lb sooner than you know it Sesame.

Fitterbysixty · 07/09/2016 18:12

Eggs for breakfast are the most filling thing ever. Owing to a miscommunication I once had over 30 in the kitchen so it was all eggs all the time. I had three scrambled for breakfast, no bread, just egg, and it was well past 4pm before I could face food. The challenge is that first thing in the morning I can't stand to look at gloopy raw egg.

I've now lost two stone and am over half way to my target. I didn't realise how much of my weight I was carrying on my face, I keep surprising myself in the mirror.

Dawhead I would love to run but the reason I'm losing the weight is because of dodgy knees. It's just walking for me until I've lost a lot more weight because I am really enjoying being able to walk up stairs without any pain. Hopefully by then I won't need an industrially engineered bra because I'll jiggle rather than swing.

Not2bObvious · 07/09/2016 18:37

Ooh I love checking in and having lots of updates to read😁 3 pound is a brilliant loss dawg, nearly a quarter of a stone! Echo everyone on minding your knees but the lighter you get the less they'll bother you. I buy wholewheat spag from tesco (organic I'll have you know 😉) and it's much more filling than white but the kids rebelled after telling me they loved it so they're back on white while I'm trying to use it up! Gits...
Afternoon out visiting and a bit of nibbling but everything is in mfp and still a shade under 1200. Did a 50 minute brisk walk this morning, that coupled with running around has me at over 13,000 steps. Slugging a pint of water now until dinners ready.
Sugar you'll probably drop weight easier now you're finishing bf, the body holds onto some poundage to protect supply, something to look forward to (and bye bye to trap door bra's!)
Made I think its brilliant you stopped at 3 chocs, a little of what you fancy is fine. If iirc must always had a couple of Jaffa cakes of an evening and look at her weight loss.
Another shout out for eggs! Natures fast food. I had boiled egg and toast for breakfast at 8, kept me going until 1, then had another with my salad. Great good stuff.

Lolimax · 07/09/2016 19:00

Not feeling the diet/exercise love tonight. I think I've pushed it a bit, I've exercised every day for the past 8 days and I'm knackered.
So although I've been good food-wise (under 1100 calories) I'm now going to slob on the sofa in my dressing gown and kip. Someone fancy popping over to supply me with tea (no biscuits of course!)?

MustBeThin · 07/09/2016 19:49

Well done Bath you'll have to let us know what the diet book is like. I could do with more meal inspiration.

Congratulations on your 2st loss Fitter that's amazing. Star

Yes Not2b I have 2 Jaffa Cakes (Asda ones as of don't like the proper ones) with a cuppa every night. Grin

I think it's super important to factor in a treat every day. Every morning I log what I will be eating that day and always add my nighttime treat. Sometimes I have a slice of gingercake instead you can get an OK slice for 100 Cals. Smile

sugarmonster64 · 07/09/2016 20:12

Late check in here, some great progress reports - v inspiring! Bad day today - long dull car journey = lots of snacks so stopped counting after about 4pm. Probably about 400 over. First weigh in tomorrow, not too optimistic - lack of exercise making me feel very porky. And despite not having a drink for 10 days (I don't drink daily but tend to have more at weekends) I feel the opposite of fresh faced - skin is a bit yuk. This was not what I was hoping for!

SesameSparkle · 07/09/2016 21:05

hopefully your coat sounds lovely - well done!

dawhead awesome weight loss - well done! Do take it easy on c25k tho if knees are grumbling - maybe an extra rest day or more repeats of the early weeks could help?

must it's really interesting to know someone else who is still losing without needing a goal weight to stay motivated - I never had a target too, as I think that would actually put me off. Ginger cake sounds delicious.

bath it's great to see you are experiencing such a positive effect. And splashing out on your appearance is a great weekend treat. I really need to book in for an eyebrow shape - I love the the lift it gives my face.

fitter 2 stone is awesome - well done! Star

not great work on the step count!

loli enjoy your well deserved rest day and your night on the sofa!

sugarm tomorrow is a new day - good luck for the weigh in

I had the best intentions for going out for a midweek run tonight - even saw loads of runners in the park on my way home. But as soon as I got in, my motivation disappeared. Kitchen closed today on 1777 calories so slightly over tonight again...
