52lbs in 52wks?

Sorry if stepping on toes. But couldn't see another thread. Anybody want to join me? I guess the idea is that some weeks you loose a bit more and some weeks you gain but aiming for 1lb a week sounds good to me.

Wow that good going Morton!
I'm still staying positive, just having a peanut butter shake and then having lentil soup again for tea. It's just one potato, carrot, onion and turnip. Cube all the ingredients quite small add 2 veg stock cubes and 6 heaped spoons of red lentils. It is so nice and makes 4 large servings.

I've made this today for snacks/breakfast. No sugar. It's all seeds, oats, dates, cranberries. Smells amazing.

I weighed myself today, as I hadn't since Saturday, and have lost 3lb! Am really pleased, although I know it won't drop off this quick later on.

CaptainCallisto · 06/01/2016 16:17

Quite proud of my willpower this morning. Carefully made myself some healthy snack bits to keep me going at work until I finished at 2. Left them in the fridge. But I said no every time someone offered me a biscuit, even though I was hungry and it was all butter shortbread too. Go me! Grin

WhoTheFuckIsSimon · 06/01/2016 16:38

Well done on the weight loss d27. Amd well done on the saying no to biscuits Callisto.

Fossie · 06/01/2016 18:17

Simon that looks great. Do you have a recipe you can share?

WhoTheFuckIsSimon · 06/01/2016 18:26

So today I had:
Breakfast- fruit and fibre cereal with skimmed milk
Lunch-Sweet chilli noodle salad with packet of quavers, carrot and salsa
Dinner- Chilli with rice and loads of veg
Snacks- Half a small pack of magic stars (couldn't resist).

Quite pleased with that overall although prob shouldn't have had the quavers or magic stars. But resisted gorgeous cakes at toddler group today which I've never been able to do before!

I'm finding it helpful to meal plan generally and then put into mfp my food for the day in advance. Then I can tell if I've got any wriggle room for a snack if I fancy it or a small dessert around 8 ish as that's my "picking" time.

NeitherQuietNorCalm · 06/01/2016 19:59

I'm in! I need to cut out sweets. That's it. I calculated how many sweet calories I eat a day and its 600! I ate fuckloads of sugar during pregnancy as it was all I could keep down and I've carried on...

Fossie · 06/01/2016 20:29

Thanks Simon.

Chocolatemousegirl · 06/01/2016 20:38

Can I join too? this is a fab goal and hopefully will result in long term sustainable loss. I haven't ever really tried to loose weight, but have much to loose but want 2016 to be my year!

HanYOLO · 06/01/2016 21:13

Weird day - busy and ate bizarre, though not hugely calorific things, at weird times. Going to bed now as can feel myself getting peckish. Did a lovely strong yoga class at lunchtime, but no running despite the beautiful day.

I really need to put some time aside to meal plan, either that or just stock the fridge with veg sticks and freezer with soup in portions.

In other news I bought a spiraliser with my ocado order on a whim as it was reduced to £10 from £30. What percntage usefulness do you think it will have?

WhoTheFuckIsSimon · 06/01/2016 21:22

Today ive had,

Slice of toast
Grapes
Two egg omlette with v small amount of cheese. Six potato wedges
Yoghurt
Mayalsian chicken and rice

yolo is the spiriliser thing where you make spaghetti out of courgette??

WhoTheFuckIsSimon · 06/01/2016 21:22

Oh and I walked the dog four miles as well.

abetterhairbrushisneeded · 06/01/2016 21:50

Aha, here you are, I lost the thread! You are all v inspiring. So far I'm just trying to reduce my calorie intake. I had been eating about 2200 calories a day and I've got it down to 1900/2000. I'm not counting steamed veg but I am counting fruit. The things I'm having are all homemade so that also ups the quality, makes the food cleaner re preservatives etc. I struggled to sleep last night and was really tempted to get up and get a bowl of cereal but managed not to! I wouldn't normally but somehow I find that by really paying attention to my diet I'm tempted to eat things I wouldn't normally or at times I wouldn't normally. Does anyone else feel this?

abetterhairbrushisneeded · 06/01/2016 21:56

I'm just reading what some of you have said about meal planning. I've only really meal planned my work day breakfast and lunch, I don't/won't snack. But I will plan to have steak, chicken or turkey with steamed veg and rice or mash which I think is a reasonable dinner. I also find if I eat a meal when I'm hungry, such as dinner right when I get home from work, or lunch at 11 am, (unsocial as it is!) then I don't tend to snack. But I feel v aware I'm not trying as hard as I could be. I'm hoping the thread will lend some motivation!

fieldfare · 07/01/2016 07:10

abetterhairbrush I know what you mean. Being on a "diet" messes with my head a little and does make me think about food a lot more than normal. I also normally don't eat breakfast, or much lunch and then have a big dinner and something small for supper. Actively making myself eat a proper breakfast and lunch at midday is a little odd but it's allowing me to have a smaller portion of dinner as I'm not so hungry then as before.

Howlongtillbedtime · 07/01/2016 07:52

Hi all , today is day four for me and I couldn't resist weighing this morning . four pounds off which I am delighted with . I always love the first week or two as it comes off nicely . it will be a month in that I will be moaning Grin

Well done to everyone else . keep on keeping on and all that !

Nottodaythanks1 · 07/01/2016 07:54

I joined ww yesterday for the millionth time. But this time I am doing it alongside a technique I read in a book about bulimia... I'm definitely not bulimic but I think I kind of fit into the description of BED (binge eating disorder), which means I binge eat often but don't purge after (hence the weight gain!). Anyway this book recommends a technique for fighting alcoholism but it's actually perfect for binge eating!!! If anyone is interested the book is called brain over binge, but you can read the technique for free on a website called rational (Google rational crash course). Just substitute the words alcohol / substance for binge eating!

I'm just posting this in hope that it helps someone as its been helping me (and lots of others according to the Amazon reviews!)

Good luck everyone :)

Specialsnowflake1 · 07/01/2016 14:27

Well I step on the scales and put 5.5lbs since the 4th December. First of the day of the 500cals didn't go well but I did cut down a lot this week next fast day is Friday eek.

WhoTheFuckIsSimon · 07/01/2016 16:32

I stepped on the scales this morning and was 13st 11lbs which is a 5lbs weight loss since Monday! I think it must be a blip, or maybe some xmas weight coming off easily??

NantucketNightbird · 07/01/2016 17:35

I'm desperate to weigh but still scared. Menu has been the same today 2 shakes of skimmed milk with powdered peanut butter and 2 big bowls of lentil soup with nutritional yeast and a whole meal thin. Feeling stuffed but at the same time could eat the whole box of chocolates down the cupboard. Staying strong it helps that I'm in bed by 8 each night Grin
