Sorry if stepping on toes. But couldn't see another thread. Anybody want to join me? I guess the idea is that some weeks you loose a bit more and some weeks you gain but aiming for 1lb a week sounds good to me.

Well done howlong, simon and fieldfare thats fantastic!

Well today I thought I was doing fairly well and was proud but then found myself in the leftover christmas chocolate box and had a small lindt bunny... and then another. They were so nice- but there are still 2 more in there so I am trying to resist.

YakTriangle · 07/01/2016 21:18

I'm writing today off as a bad job and starting again in the morning. I had intended to be so sensible today but I've just finished up the last of a tub of Ben and Jerry's and earlier I had some truffles from the huge box of Christmas chocolate. Never mind. Tomorrow will be better.

NantucketNightbird · 08/01/2016 12:10

Yak just put it behind you, there's no way I could resist Ben and jerrys especially the peanut butter one.
How is today treating everyone? I'm dreading the weekend, I've got into such a routine since monday but having the children wanting snacks etc it's going to be tough.

Gosh today will be ok but not tomorrow- am going out in the evening and have a preordered meal of mixed grill and breaded mushrooms. Not diet friendly in the slightest! I think I am just going to try to resist pudding but view tomorrow as a bit of a writeoff. No way will I be able to resist all that when its on a plate in front of me! (Am quite looking forward to it though...).

BBQueen · 08/01/2016 21:55

Feeling a bit smug - I fancied a snack so actually got the scales out and weighed some Doritos and salsa to make sure I stayed within my calorie allowance and didn't undo today's good eating.

Unapologetic for boasting... I'm normally terrible at exercising any restraint.

glenthebattleostrich · 09/01/2016 11:26

Morning,

I've fallen off the wagon already. Really bad couple of days.

But, onwards and downwards. Back on it today, I've even resisted the cakes in Costa and am sitting with some plain tea.

Well done on the losses this week.

Rinceoir · 09/01/2016 13:31

Can I join? Aiming to lose about that, maybe a bit more! Way over my usual comfortable weight now. I lost about a stone pre Xmas, put back on 2 lbs which isn't too bad. Got started again properly on New Years Day after a massive Indian takeaway NYE. Down 3lbs although got my period too so probably some of that is water. Counting calls on mfp.

dudsville · 09/01/2016 14:21

I've name changed from abetterhair... (i struggle to come up with names!)

It's exciting reading about the pounds coming off! I'm not weighing until feb 1st. I've had mixed success in the 9 days so far though. On work days I've had a controlled diet and I find I don't think about food. I've also not had my usual large cappuccino at the start of the day so that's great. I have not had the friday night curries and there have been more than normal evenings without a glass of wine. HOWEVER. I went the whole holiday period without eating a single mince pie and I've had 4 of the damn things this week. I keep trying to hold in mind where I want to be by July (I only want to lose about 20-28 lbs - the decider will be based on how I look and how my clothes fit). I think it will easier for me when the weather warms up. I LOVE salads but not in winter.

I think something that would help me is to start making snacking selections of raw fruit and veg. Those mince pies hit me out of nowhere1

PandasRock · 09/01/2016 16:27

I am still doing well containing the evening munchies, so that is a positive. I'm still snacking more than I would like in the day, but trying to keep it in check. I am taking the view that any reduction in the amount of sweets/biscuits/random crap is a good thing, rather than good night in hard and banning it all (which, from previous experience goes well for a couple of weeks then I fall off he wagon hard and eat loads!)

I am trying to generally be are of what and how much I am eating, rather than mindlessly reaching for the next biscuit just for something to do.

I have also found that delaying breakfast, and having a resonable sized brunch instead sees me through without feeling hungry until the children's tea at about 5.30 or so, and I eat with them which staves off the actual hunger pangs for the evening. Snack cravings are an altogether different thing, but I am trying to keep in mind that I want them rather than need them, and focus on keeping it small if I can't do without altogether.

Fossie · 09/01/2016 19:16

I'm finding it helpful to go wheat/gluten free.

I don't think I'm intolerant but I remember a friend saying she had stopped eating this and lost a stone in 3 months without changing anything else she ate or did.

I am seeing now that i am not automatically buying sandwiches or making myself toast or buying most ready meals. Even the weight watcher ready meals have wheat in them. It makes the whole meal planning thing healthier for me. Fingers crossed I can keep this up.

I've had a bad cold with raised glands since I started this diet and I am just wondering if there is a connection with what I'm eating or not eating. I hope not.

glenthebattleostrich · 09/01/2016 19:21

Fossie have a look at wheat belly. It's a site by a us doctor about how giving up wheat can make you healthier. You are probably low carbing so it could be carb flu. Coconut oil and bovril can help (not at the same time)

d270r0 · 10/01/2016 14:55

Well, I went out last night and truly broke the diet! Breaded mushrooms, mixed grill and birthday cake! It was really lovely but back on the diet again today. Although finding it difficult.

Howlongtillbedtime · 10/01/2016 18:32

Tomorrow is my first week weigh in after starting this last Monday . I have been sticking to slimming world (other than a beer or two last night Blush )

I am really hoping for a good start .

Good luck to everyone else .

Fossie · 10/01/2016 19:37

glen carb flu! I shall have to look that up. I am def not eating much carbs. Do you know if marmite is as good as bovril? Thanks for the tip!

Howlongtillbedtime · 11/01/2016 06:56

Morning all five pounds off Grin happy with that !

Now I just need to keep the momentum up when the losses slow down .

Good luck to everyone weighing today .

PandasRock · 11/01/2016 07:00

Morning all

Weigh in: 156.2lb, so exactly 1lb off. It's a start, and moving in the right direction Smile

NantucketNightbird · 11/01/2016 07:21

I will weigh once I have dropped the children at school then I can nip to boots. I will be happy with a 1lb as I did have an awful day Saturday and yesterday I had a bag of smoked cheese popcorn at the cinema. It said 72cals per serving but I ate the who bag (3 servings). Apart from that I had rye bread with boiled eggs.

Great losses everyone.

First full day of my period and I'm so bloated that I can't get my rings on :(

I'll weigh when I've debloated.

Rinceoir · 11/01/2016 07:39

I'm down 4.5lbs since January 1st. Working 830-930 today and tomorrow, long days are usually crazy busy and I end up eating crap instead of meals so today I have chopped nuts and fruit in my handbag. Not aiming for a big calorie deficit next two days (going to eat 1800 rather than 1300) which hopefully will keep me from falling off the wagon entirely.

flatmouse · 11/01/2016 09:51

Weigh in day! Lost 3.2lbs (First week so higher loss than expecting normally). Pleased with that. Fitbit helping me move more, and didn't drink as much alcohol this last week as normal. Have meal-planned for the week (mon-fri) which should help a bit too.
DH made a tomato soup which is only 1 WW point per portion and tastes delicious! Looking forward to that for lunch.

d270r0 · 11/01/2016 13:58

Well done everyone for losing weight! Even 1lb is great, is still a loss and afterall thats what we're aiming for- 1lb per week overall!

I weighed myself this morning and have lost 4lb since the 1st January. Although I have to say it was all in that first week- haven't lost much in these last few days, I think massively overeating on Saturday evening counteracted all the good I've been doing recently. Still really pleased with the weight loss to date!

NantucketNightbird · 11/01/2016 14:45

4lb down this week does this count as a months loss. Pleased with this and it's a good kick start especially as I'm taking cocodamol and naproxen for my shoulder and haven't had a poo in 5 days Blush

IAmNotDarling · 11/01/2016 15:17

A pound today! Yey! Little effort but if I move more then next week it might make more of a difference.

PandasRock · 11/01/2016 15:26

I am happy with my 1lb loss. As I said up thread, I have hardly stuck rigidly to a strict diet, but I have tried to cut down the amount of chocolate and biscuits and snacky stuff.

I have good intentions to get out and move more, which was harder last week as dc were still off school most of it. And the rain. The endless rain! But I will try to exercise more this week as well as keeping the munchies in check.

Onwards!

NantucketNightbird · 11/01/2016 16:21

A pound is brilliant panda. I'm going to be elated if I achieve that every week from now on. After all this thread is all about 1lb a week loss Smile
