Sorry if stepping on toes. But couldn't see another thread. Anybody want to join me? I guess the idea is that some weeks you loose a bit more and some weeks you gain but aiming for 1lb a week sounds good to me.

Okay 184 pounds this morning. Managed to stick to 1200 calories today using MFP but hoping not to spoil it by binge eating tonight!

Donge13 · 04/01/2016 18:40

I took all leftover Xmas goodies to work today to get them out of the house Grin

CaptainCallisto · 04/01/2016 18:47

Bit late to the party, but I'd love to join you all.

We've had a really pants few months with DS2 in and out of hospital, MIL diagnosed with cancer, and finding out we've not only lost our tax credits but they've overpaid us by almost £2,000 (thanks HMRC Angry). What with the hospital food and the stress, I've put 11lbs on since October.

This morning's weigh in put me at 14st 12. I'm could do with being about 12st so I'm hoping this thread will stop me losing touch with it again!

HanYOLO · 04/01/2016 18:55

I will join you. Though I have joined these threads before. I am a serial weightloss thread joiner.

I eat a balanced, nutritious, mostly vegan diet, just too much of everything and am definitely an emotional eater. I started running again in December and did 5k every day for 20 days - lost half a stone and started to tone up nicely - but got a terrible chest infection on 22nd and have done nothing since. What with Christmas hot toddys I think most of that will be back on. But hoping to start afresh tomorrow.

My plan is running; yoga (for strength and mental wellbeing); good breakfast and proper lunch, small light supper. Plant-based, low-ish carb.

Wave at me if you are a running type!

sparrowfart · 04/01/2016 19:44

14.10 but day 27 of about 27 So hopefully may get a kick start on the next few days. Had coffee mid morning and tuna sandwich for lunch. Slow cooked beef and tomato casserole with salad and a handful of pasta for tea. Having a lidl mini magnum later on. Definitely eating less but my danger time is from about 9pm :/

Fossie · 04/01/2016 19:57

I weighed this morning but didn't post. 13st 3lb. Up at least half a stone from last year. However lost 3 lb since Friday (since I am weighing twice a week) though that isn't even all the Christmas weight I put on in the week before!

I'm eating one normal but smaller meal with the rest of the family and then soup or salmon with low fat cottage cheese on rice cakes. I'm conscious I will need to drink more fluids as I am def eating less but I'm trying not to drink too much extra tea as I think it keeps me up. I've just bought some Redbush decaf tea and will try to alternate with that.

My small meal today was nearly the same size as the rest of the family so not feeing I've done so well today. I've also bought some veg so I hope to make some sort of veggie soup tomorrow.

NantucketNightbird · 04/01/2016 20:20

Stayed strong, I think I'm going to give this 5:2 a try and stick to 1200 on non fast days? Will pop over and check out the boards. The best thing for me when I have a hunger pang is 200ml skimmed milk with 2 spoons of powdered peanut butter it is amazing and around 120cals.
So today I'm 13st 6 yikes that's awful heaviest I've been since I had my first child over 12yrs ago. First goal is to get rid of the 6llbs by the 31st.

This morning's weigh in was a bit depressing - 14 st 10 Blush. I've put on almost 1/2 a stone over Xmas but looking at ideas for low cal snacks has given me some indication why - 10 peanuts are 100 cal and I must have eaten hundreds! That's without all the cheese, chops and booze. No wonder I feel so crap.

Tried really hard today and went to Tesco after work to stock up on sensible snacks - I know not snacking at all would be better but that's never going to happen! Have logged everything with MFP so will report back with how the week goes.

WhoTheFuckIsSimon · 04/01/2016 21:07

I'm so bloody hungry. I need some ideas for healthy/low calorie snacks!

d270r0 · 04/01/2016 21:36

Hi everyone, I'm a few days late to this but can I join? I started my diet on Jan 1st and want to lose at least 3 stone in total. I've put this all on since having my 2 children 4 and a half years ago. Am feeling really big and unfit.

I didn't weigh myself today but did on Saturday 2nd and weighed 14st 7. I was shocked! So hopefully when I weigh myself next Monday I will have lost a few pounds. I'm being really strict with what I eat, and resisted a free pastry and pudding today at work! I'm also trying to exercise every day, have got a good 'game' for the nintendo wii called my fitness coach which is like an exercise video but the exercises are tailored to you individually depending on easiness/ what you need to improve. I am getting a bridesmaid dress for a wedding in March so want to lose as much as possible before then!

d270r0 · 04/01/2016 21:40

Hi Simon, a good snack I had yesterday is a chopped carrot, dipped in tomato salsa dip. Hardly any calories and really healthy, but the dip made it seem better!

WhoTheFuckIsSimon · 04/01/2016 21:50

Thanks for the carrot and salsa tip. Will have to buy some salsa!

BBQueen · 05/01/2016 07:34

Morning all,

Am I alone in getting "the rage" when I try and restrict sugar and calorie intake? My poor husband and children have had to put up with my short temper for five days now and I'm hoping that I'm starting to get over the hump.

CaptainCallisto · 05/01/2016 08:49

Not alone! It doesn't help here that DH and the DS's are still working through a mountain of chocolate they got for Christmas Envy

glentherednosedbattleostrich · 05/01/2016 09:24

Morning, been up since 5.30 this morning and only just getting breakfast (prawns and blackberries).

BB, I get the rage too. I think it's the sugar withdrawal. I also have gluten withdrawal too so doubly cranky!

So today -

B prawns and blackberries
L sizzle steak with salad
T chicken salad

Snacks of pork scratchings and cucumber, 3 teas and lots of water too.

I've already done my run today as I didn't make it out last night so can justifiably flop tonight!

Have a great day everyone.

NantucketNightbird · 05/01/2016 12:57

How is everyone doing? I'm feeling slimmer, I know it's not possible but maybe I'm feeling less bloated? Anyway started the day with a shake with a banana, tea spoon of oats and powdered peanut butter. Had an egg with a sandwich thin toasted for dinner and going to make lentil soup for dinner with nutritional yeast on top.

I'm excited for summer and to wear a pair of shorts Smile

I still haven't bought any scales, mostly because I don't want to know how heavy I am. I am feeling better about myself just from using MFP so maybe I can shrink a bit before I actually weigh myself so I'm not so horrified Hmm

HanYOLO · 05/01/2016 15:32

I have done an hours vinyasa class, and plodded on the beach for half an hour.

Breakfast was spinach and almond milk smoothie; was STARVING at lunch time - so chickpea salad in lettuce wrap, some Frys vegan chicken strips and a half bowl of vegetable soup with nutritional yeast. Have jsut had a slice of german rye bread with a smidgen of avocado and vegemite. So lots of food. Was planning a stirfry for supper but may just stick with the other half of the bowl of soup.

Feeling positive.

Toying with 5:2ing for a couple of weeks. But that needs some proper planning.

Donge13 · 05/01/2016 16:37

I'm finding it ok today, I think it's been easy after the excess of Xmas. A few days in might be a different story Grin

WhoTheFuckIsSimon · 05/01/2016 17:38

B. Belvita biscuits
L. Ham salad. Three Jaffa cakes
Snack. Small snack size popcorn bag
Dinner. Chicken rotti, wedges.

d270r0 · 05/01/2016 18:12

Have done well so far today although obsessed with chocolate and really achey from exercising yesterday.
Breakfast: fruit and fibre cereal with skimmed milk
Lunch: Small tuna pasta salad and 2 satsumas
Snacks: 2 cups of coffee with milk and sugar
Dinner: Small amount cottage pie with loads of veg.

Feel like I've done well but I might cave and scoff some chocolate soon- and I've done no exercise today yet.

flatmouse · 05/01/2016 19:54

I think my biggest downfall will be lack of meal planning for evening meals. I think if I know what we're going to eat it will be easier to ensure we make it, so less "quick" processed food/meals.
Have got portions of home made lasagne out for tomorrow night and think will do that again (make huge batch and freeze portioned leftovers). They work out at 13 WW points per portion which is fine with salad for evening meal.
I'm still feeling bloated! Might do some frozen fruit salad for the fridge to have for breakfasts.

Fossie · 06/01/2016 00:39

Made a huge veg soup/stew which tastes good but I think the beans in it have made me feel bloated. Not well at the he moment so I slept a few hours so that filled some of the day. Not up to exercise yet. I'm interested in what everyone is eating - thanks for saying. Other than 3 bowls of soup I've had rice cake/cottage cheese/smoked salmon and now some tinned tuna with chilli sauce. I also went gluten free so not sure if that is affecting me.

Mrsmorton · 06/01/2016 07:43

On NYE I was 172lb, now, a week on I'm 166lb so I'd like to either stay the same or lose another 2lb by the end of the week. I usually have a really quick loss and then stall at 154lb so I'm really hoping to smash through that this time.

Mrsmorton · 06/01/2016 08:03

The end of next week I meant. Otherwise that's a bit too quick!
