Sorry if stepping on toes. But couldn't see another thread. Anybody want to join me? I guess the idea is that some weeks you loose a bit more and some weeks you gain but aiming for 1lb a week sounds good to me.

Hello all, I'm back on night shifts tonight (lots of swaps to facilitate holidays!). Just weighed in at 1lb down. 44lbs in total. Good luck to anyone weighing in.

Blueraccoon · 06/06/2016 12:54

I'm down 1lb today. Finding it hard going! 4 weeks to hols. Ideally I'd like to lose another 6-8lb before then but will have to try harder I know.

Rinceoir · 06/06/2016 13:09

Well done Blue! It is hard going isn't it. I'm still 2stone off a healthy weight and would like to be towards the middle of my healthy range to give myself some leeway. But I'm no longer in the obese category, and am aiming to lose the 2stone by the end of 2016 as I know it's slowing down a lot now.

NantucketNightbird · 13/06/2016 12:17

Hey all! Sorry I've been gone for 2 weeks, had a super busy time with birthdays and the weather being so nice I've hardly been in. Plus the internet was down and now it's running super slow. Anyway I e gone and done it am now 4st down since jan 5th! My original goal was 9st 7 but I'm now 9st 6 (bloody boots scales have put my height at a bit shorter which happens if I don't stand super tall). My aim is 9st by July 11th which is 4 week when we go to butlins :-).

I'm feeling super, no aches I'm smiling all the time I'm doing something which I never used to do and that's meet people's eye when talking to them. I'm making an effort every day even when I'm not leaving the house to carefully pick outfits. My leggings are forever gone never to be seen again. I'm doing my hair and makeup. Thank you all for being here on this thread. I had no idea I would stick to it this long but my whole mindset has changed. Everyone on here has done amazing very big unmumsnet

Well done Nan! I've only lost 0.5lbs this week, but am extremely bloated so I'm blaming that!

NantucketNightbird · 13/06/2016 14:37

Rince it's very slow coming off when you are at the final stage. I want this 6lb gone in 4wks but realistically I know it may take 8 weeks. You are doing great. How many dress sizes have you lost? I'm now fitting comfortably in a 10 top and bottom, some dresses even an 8!

Rinceoir · 13/06/2016 21:31

Unfortunately Nan I've got 2 stone more to go, to get me to my target. Think I need to up the exercise and reduce the calories slightly at this point.

Rinceoir · 13/06/2016 21:32

I've dropped a few sizes alright- wearing a 12 on top and a 12/14 on bottom. Breasts deflating rapidly so in dire need of bras!

Blueraccoon · 13/06/2016 22:18

Well done Nantucket! Amazing result!

I'm down 0.5lb this week, so that's the first half stone gone at last. Just need to keep plodding on I guess. Hope you all have a good week.

Blueraccoon · 21/06/2016 07:42

What's happened to everyone? No one weighing in yesterday? I'm really fed up. Last week I did a mid week jump on the scales and was down another 2lbs so yesterday expected to be at least that down if not 3. Was gutted when the scales showed 1lb GAIN. Taking on board what Rince said and what I know to be true about scales and fluctuations I waited till this morning and weighed again - and I'm still 1lb up on last week!

It seems so unfair for the amount of cutting back I have done. Maybe not stuck rigidly to a diet but eaten far less than usual and certainly don't see why I should have gained. All I can say is lose the weight when you are younger because when you get to my age (50s) it is way, way harder than it used to be and my friends the same age find that too Sad

havalina1 · 21/06/2016 11:19

Hi, I'm still here. I started a reply a few days ago by my little daughter dragged the phone off me - such is my life!

Nan you are doing so amazing, and Rinceoir too. I'm chuffed for you two.

I'm. It sounds so well. I'm on a merry go round of losing the same 3 or 4 pounds and then they reappear? I am going from 10st 9.5 to 10st 12.5 constantly and it's depressing. I know when my period is due I start eating crap. Maybe stupidly I gave myself a hall pass to do so thinking a few days can't hurt. Maybe I didn't get vigilant quick enough.

Anyway I'm back trying again. My mum is saying to me just cut out the snacks on cake and biscuits and all will be well. I can do that for a few weeks by have failed at longer stretches. Here goes again!

Jogged my wee jog last night. That I am going to keep up.

I'm back in work in 8 weeks ( Shock) and I'm NOT buying a new wardrobe of work clothes on top of maternity, breastfeeding, casual "im a bigger size" clothes....

I might look into slimming world. I am only trying to lose 10 or 12lbs but am really really stuck and I'm one clothes size out of my norm.

I have to be more positive too. I'm still going to Pilates - 9th week his week and I've not missed a class - that's good Grin plus I'm doing lunges and squats daily and I've started riding again.

Come on body shed the lbs!!!

havalina1 · 21/06/2016 11:27

Blueraccoon I can sympathise. Don't let it discourage you - it could be water retention so don't let it stop you from saying on course! I'm having a similar hassle (I just posted earlier). I'm going to keep on course now.

I'm new to cooking for a family (thread a while other story by I got babies and a man all in the past two years) so "the dinner" is my responsibility. He's a farmer - so basically eats massive amounts and burns them off. My mums jaw drops when she sees the amount of potatoes I have to peel, ha! But it means I'm making big substantial dinners - a light healthy dinner would be scoffed and id be thanked for the starter while eyes roved for the mains Shock it's hard to cook for him, me and feed the two little ones too! I will figure it out though!

Me, the idiot, I was making oven chips honking they were somewhat healthier (than chips) til I rad the packet and they are basically potatoes IN BATTER - hats what makes them so crunchy and delicious. Not buying them again. I just found them my fail safe when I wanted to chuck a dinner on and not scrub veg for ages. Generally I cook fresh but I am new to all off it!

Jeepers apologies for all my typos!!! iPhone Angry

Blueraccoon · 22/06/2016 09:13

Thanks Hav, you're right there's no point in giving up, need to stay on course no matter how long it takes. However I did go a bit mad yesterday. Made a trip to Aldi as I keep reading on here how good it is. We don't have one in our town so had to make a special trip. And yes I did scoff cream cheese with pineapple and almonds on many, many oatcakes plus orange and chocolate chip cake and several other 'goodies' that I picked up there. Felt really full and uncomfortable going to bed. So I've had my day of feeling sorry for myself and will get back on it today.

I'm sure you can eat the same meals as your DH Hav, just have smaller portions. And make sure you don't make too much or you will be tempted to pick at the leftovers!

Rinceoir · 28/06/2016 15:17

Hi all, this thread dropped off my list for some reason making it harder to find! I'm struggling a bit, losing about 0.5lbs a week so hitting a slight plateau. I know I've been a bit more relaxed about food though and could definitely up the exercise so that's what I need to do now!

Rinceoir · 17/07/2016 10:10

Anyone still on here?

havalina1 · 18/07/2016 21:04

I'm here Rinceoir! How are you? I'm down to 10st 9 - and more importantly - I'm staying there - it's not fluctuating. Getting some good walk in lately and my stomach muscles have improved so much - the 4 month pregnant look is gone/going finally!

Rinceoir · 18/07/2016 22:11

Well done Hav! I'm doing ok, slow progress but down 3st 8lbs (50lbs) in total now. Want to lose another 1.5-2stone but there's and end in sight now.

havalina1 · 18/07/2016 22:21

I just think that is phenomenal! It's taken me MONTHS to shift 8lbs (I seemed to be 11 3 forever!!) that's so great Rinceoir.

Rinceoir · 18/07/2016 23:01

Well you started off a LOT lower than I did.

Rinceoir · 18/07/2016 23:02

Sorry! That meant to say which is why it's taken as long to lose it (not to mention small children+house moves!).

havalina1 · 19/07/2016 09:50

I know, I know what you meant!

I thought it would be easy to get rid of the guts of a stone - I was so so wrong. And once I focused on it and registered it wasn't shifting I got really bothered by it.

I've taken up walking, nothing drastic but a brisk walk about 2 to 4 miles in the evening. Wish I had time to walk for longer but I'm needed back home, an hour is the max I am go for.

Are you able to stay focused Rinceoir?

Where's Nan gone too??!

NantucketNightbird · 18/08/2016 13:58

HELLO!!!!!!! I've missed you all

havalina1 · 19/08/2016 20:03

Nantucket that sounds hard. Amazing for you but hard on support side. You just look incredible now!

I've been off mumsnet too. So much going on in my life. Relationship, baby christened, home now for a visit to my mums.

Weight-wise I am delighted I've maintained 10st 9lbs with no fluctuations so I'm going to aim now to get rid of the last 7 lbs. but not at a lb a week. I just can't shift it breastfeeding but I think it will continue to go down but at a slower rate.

You honestly must be tiny now!!!!

I've been buying clothes again Smile I'm a Ten or a S mostly and odd time a M. Clothes looking ok and I feel healthy, I'm walking, doing floor exercises, will resume Pilates when my teacher gets back from holidays, and doing light weights for my arms at home. Everyone is telling me I'm getting my old shape back - I had a pregnancy tummy for ages as my stomach muscles separated.

Anyway yea it's all good.

How are you finding a vegan lifestyle? Didn't the family convert too?

Rinceoir how are you? Everyone else? Xxx

NantucketNightbird · 19/08/2016 21:58

I'm an 8-10 dh found a photo of me at Christmas and the difference I must admit is shocking, I will try to upload (and out myself over the weekend. I'm hoping to shift a bit more once the children return to school.

The children are vegetarian and I'm buying some hens soon so I don't feel so bad about them eating eggs. But I can't believe I never commited to being vegan sooner (been vegetarian since I was 10 so 21 years). Im feeling all virtuous Wink but unfortunately it has turned me into a preachy vegan Confused.
Sounds like you have had lots going on, hopefully rince comes back and we can get the old thread back on the rails Smile
