MFP to lose weight

Emz449 · 30/05/2015 18:31

Hello! I'm starting this thread to make myself accountable and as motivation. I've been using MFP for 16 days now and have lost 6lbs, really enjoying it and finding it so easy to use. I'll be posting weigh ins as and when as I am a frequent weigher! Hopefully the loses will continue Grin I started in Janaury as 14 stone 11lbs Shock but I've become complacent

Starting weight - 14 stone 11lbs
Current weight - 12 stone 5lbs
Goal weight - Currently 10 stone 11lbs but I think that I will aim lower once I reach that

On 1,450 a day with an active lifestyle. Would be great to see other peoples loses and experiences with MFP, annoyed I didn't start it sooner!

How did you get on Bathsheba?

I blew it last night. I ended up drinking more wine than I should, and then had 2 fried eggs as well. I logged everything and MFP says I should still have lost a tiny tiny bit so I'm counting that as a 'slow' day rather than a 'gain' day.

Friends over this weekend which isn't going to be easy, but I'm not touching alcohol tonight so that will give me about a gazillion calories less.

Have a good day everyone. It's Friday! Grin

Emz449 · 12/06/2015 07:53

Weighed in at 12 stone 5 this morning, so happy, just need one more pound to meet this weeks goal

That doesn't sound like you blew it Pea it could have been a lot worse. Hope this weekend goes well

I resisted Peacoat - only just. I had 20g cheese (have had to resort to buying individually wrapped portions to stop me eating a whole slab) and it worked. I lost another 1lb today. It is coming off pretty quickly at the moment. I am a bit concerned too quickly - but as I said before I think, I need to loose quite a bit fast at the beginning to keep motivation up. So as of this morning I am 12 6.

Bathsheba3 · 12/06/2015 07:54

Well done Emz!

Emz449 · 12/06/2015 09:52

Thanks Bathsheba3

Well done for your loss to that's great

Nice work Bathsheba. I'm going to have to buy those small portions too. I just can't be trusted with a block of cheese.

Well done on those losses!

Emz449 · 12/06/2015 17:34

I bulk buy babybel when they're on offer so that I have portioned amount of cheese, pretty much have one a day Grin

Emz - that's amazing Smile
I'm having a weekend off - I'm away with friends and so it's been non stop eating and drinking. I've not put into MFP as I know it's be horrific. I'll just start again when I'm back Smile

Emz449 · 13/06/2015 19:52

Thanks Mixedmessages, enjoy your time off, a break is definitely needed sometimes! I'm planning on it for the 25th and 26th. It's when me and boyfriend leave our current flat and we're planning on a big night out with a nice meal and drinks. Looking forward to it! Will be good as gold until then so I meet the end of June challenge to get into the 11 stone bracket ... Hopefully Grin

Emz - lookin' good Girl! Star
Mixed - I like the idea of having a weekend off! Given what I've been chomping today perhaps I need to too ...

Bathsheba3 · 13/06/2015 22:52

1800 cals today, instead of 1200. Oops. What do I do tomorrow? Eat less to compensate, or go for a run, or both? Miserable, but quite pleased I managed to stop myself from attacking more food, as I felt like it (low mood).

Emz449 · 14/06/2015 00:29

Flowers sorry you're feeling down Bathsheba, I would just stick to your allowance and if you feel like it go for a run, I wouldn't worry too much about it though

Bathsheba one higher intake day followed by going back to your recommended intake can actually kick off more weight loss - it seems to kick your metabolism in the backside, so to speak. So don't feel bad!

MrsHooolie · 14/06/2015 08:38

Hi OP,you look really slim in your photo. Can't believe you were 14st+ in January!
How tall are you?

HarryLimeFoxtrot · 14/06/2015 09:02

Despite Wednesday being a really bad day, my weekly weigh in shows I've lost 2lb. Really pleased with that!

Emz449 · 14/06/2015 10:50

Well done Harry, there's some really great weight loss in this thread Smile

I'm 5 foot 3, but I think I have a heavy build and I look smaller then what I weigh if that makes sense? My sister is exactly the same. Did a lot of kettlebells and weight training previously. Also that's a flattering picture taken at a good angle Grin

Hello, I have just discovered MFP, and it's amazing! My ideal weight is 11 and a half stone (I am tall), but I have slowly let the weight creep on over the last year or two. I tried the 5:2 diet but ended up dreading the fast days, and felt miserable eating a bit of cottage cheese when everyone else in the family had a proper dinner.

I like MFP because you just need to tweak your eating to stay on target (a bit of chocolate instead of the whole bar [embarrassed] - nothing faddy, nothing forbidden, which suits me mu h better. I was 12st 12 at the start - the heaviest I have ever been, and none of my clothes fit any more - I am already down to 12 9. I love the way it tells you what your weight would be in 5 weeks if you carry on eating this way. It's a real incentive to stick with it, specially as I am off on holiday about then. I have found it easiest to have a good breakfast, a small lunch and then a good sized dinner minus the mound of carbs I'd have in the past.

Good luck to everyone else, it's great reading your stories.

Emz449 · 14/06/2015 18:56

Welcome Dogseggs well done on your weight loss so far and good luck for the rest of your journey. Big lover of MFP here!

Thanks Jonty for your positivity. Really appreciate it. Any time I have tried to loose weight before (numerous) I end up making it to 2 weeks and then one night of the munchies and then giving up. Holiday to book mid August, so that's 2 months away. So I wonder if I can get to low 11's by then?

Welcome Dogseggs and hello to everyone else! Great loss Harry - 2 lbs is very impressive.

Can't believe you are 5'3" Emz, 12 3ish stone and look that great in your jeans! I'm 5'7 and wear large 14.

Hope we all start the new week tomorrow all positive and eating lean!

Emz449 · 14/06/2015 22:03

You'll definitely be in the low 11's by then, what's your 5 week prediction?

I've bought a few on the fuller for longer meals from Marks and Spencer's to try for the next week, all of them are around 400 calories or less, I bought the chicken skewers one, coronation chicken tikka curry and the pulled chicken with Orzo pasta, they look really nice so can't wait to try them!

Still 12 stone 3 this morning. Not complaining of course, -2 from my start weight so I'm very happy. Hope you have all had good a weekend
