MFP to lose weight

Emz449 · 30/05/2015 18:31

Hello! I'm starting this thread to make myself accountable and as motivation. I've been using MFP for 16 days now and have lost 6lbs, really enjoying it and finding it so easy to use. I'll be posting weigh ins as and when as I am a frequent weigher! Hopefully the loses will continue Grin I started in Janaury as 14 stone 11lbs Shock but I've become complacent

Starting weight - 14 stone 11lbs
Current weight - 12 stone 5lbs
Goal weight - Currently 10 stone 11lbs but I think that I will aim lower once I reach that

On 1,450 a day with an active lifestyle. Would be great to see other peoples loses and experiences with MFP, annoyed I didn't start it sooner!

I was wondering if I could ask for some opinions please. I have to go here for a work lunch tomorrow, what would you choose from this menu?! I was thinking maybe the chicken tikka salad from the starter list? The food generally isn't healthy, think weather spoons or hungry horse type place. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated! Pre diet I would be all over a burger Grin

The salmon main course with new potatoes sounds fine, as does the fisherman salad (watch the coleslaw though) and a plain steak (no sauce) with salad would also be fine

Emz449 · 10/06/2015 15:42

Ah thank you but I don't eat fish, the steak does sound good though! Think I'll go for that or that Chicken salad

Definitely steak and salad - dressing I the side Smile if I'm out for dinner I have a side of peppercorn sauce - still relatively low cal and much tastier than the higher cal dressing

Bathsheba3 · 10/06/2015 16:15

Great news Jonty. Very impressive stats too. I can't find a tape measure but I did take a photo of myself last week, and one of my face too, but not for public circulation. I am in awe of those people who happily post photos of themselves in their undies on the mfp community board.

Emz449 · 10/06/2015 17:00

Or even the carvery for lunch? Could get the meat and veg/salad there. Quite a few options really, which is good!

Hi Jonty and congratulations! How was everyone's day?

Good news is that I've lost 0.2kg since Monday morning. First weight loss for a long time.

I'm also getting used to being slightly hungry/not snacking/not eating crap. I'm eating a lot more veggies and I feel a lot better for it. Should be at BMF tonight but I have only just gotten home from work and I have 30 books to mark by the morning .

Emz449 · 10/06/2015 19:23

Just had courgetti with my Thai green curry and it was amazing! Nice and full and didn't miss the rice. Think the pencil sharpener is really good and would recommend for 2.99

Emz449 · 10/06/2015 21:23

That's amazing Mixedmessages Congratulations! That's pretty much what I'm aiming for, hope I meet it!

Whooo hoo Peacoat - and Mixed! Shows that it can be done. Inspiring.

I'm making Thai curry tomorrow Emz. What on earth is a pencil sharpener for courgettes? It sounds brilliant.

peacoat · 11/06/2015 06:19

Morning! Thank you. Another 0.2kg down this morning Smile. This seems to be working!

Yes I want to know what a pencil sharpener for courgettes is as well.

Bathsheba3 · 11/06/2015 07:08

Yea Peacoat - it's on its way!

I must do some food shopping. I'm getting a bit bored of salmon & salad.

Enjoy your lunch out today Emz. Def salad dressing on the side. But enjoy it and don't feel guilty for any of the steak (or whatever you choose). Just make sure you have logged it all in so you know how many cals are left for breakfast and supper/tea/dinner this evening.

Strong wills today everyone!

Emz449 · 11/06/2015 07:54

Oh I'll post a link for it when I get to work Smile

Great news guys... I weighed in at 12 stone 6 this morning! So happy, only 1lb until my original weight. Has spurred me on to make sure I'm extra good at lunch.

Well done pea!! Hope you all have good days

This is the link for the pencil sharperer. It was quite cheap and was delivered quickly

Thanks Emz. Did you just steam your courgette? I can see my DC's having great fun with that. Will get an order in.

Hope the lunch out went OK! I ended up out for lunch too & had with lovely chicken salad. Feel a little deprived as everyone around were drinking chilled rose. Have quit sugar for time being so no wine for me. Plus at 1200 cals there's not much left for food once allowance for a glass of wine!

This had all better be worth it ...

Emz449 · 11/06/2015 16:38

It definitely will be Bathsheba I just cooked mine in a pan to be honest, with no oil and made sure I stirred it lots, it was really nice, I just added some pepper to it.

Lunch out went well! I just had the carvery chicken, small portion, and then lettuce, tomatoes, some veg and a small serving of potato salad so I really don't think it would add up to many calories. Quite happy with it and it was filling too. I'll go slightly over my 1200 but only by 56, my exercise calories will more then cover that so not too worried.

I'm aiming for an alcohol free weekend this week to see how much it (if any) makes a difference. I'm not a big drinker anyway, but have had a lot of social events and nights out in the last month or two so it will be nice to have a weekend off. Currently on a search for a swimming pool as I've heard swimming is good for back pain. Missing my Kettlebells!

Hope everyone has had a good day, I'm looking forward to sweet and sour chicken tonight with side salad, should be nice!

Hi everyone! Well done Emz! That's brilliant.

I have to confess to caving and having a glass of wine. With 2 small glasses I'll be just over my allowance of 1200.

Emz449 · 11/06/2015 19:56

Nothing wrong with a few glasses of wine especially if it's in your calorie allowance Grin

JontyDoggle37 · 11/06/2015 19:58

Well, today is a bust. Was up half the night with young baby and an unwell dog too, so today was just about getting enough protein and energy to keep me going, and never mind the calories. I walked for nearly an hour today though, plus mucked out one of my horses, so I've offset some of the damage hopefully!

HarryLimeFoxtrot · 11/06/2015 20:12

Yesterday didn't go well. I ate out for lunch and dinner and ended up way over my calories. Back on track today, but I doubt I'll have lost any weight when I weigh in on Sunday.

Emz449 · 11/06/2015 20:59

Sunday is still a couple of days away so a few days on track could undo any damage Harry? I'll have my fingers crossed for you.

Jonty it definitely sounds like you'll have burnt off any extra calories. Sounds pretty strenuous!

I'm so looking forward to the weekend. Work has been exceptionally busy this week so it will be nice to relax. Weekends tend to be my downfall diet wise but I've planned my menu in advance and my boyfriend is actually being good about not putting temptation in my way and is accepting that if I say no to something I mean it and he won't try to talk me round, it makes a big difference, I've had a big talk with him about how I want to be at certain goals by various times and he's being very supportive

Struggling this evening ... really have the munchies. Am resisting, but finding it v hard. And will probably find it increasingly hard. Evenings are my downfall ...
