MFP to lose weight

Emz449 · 30/05/2015 18:31

Hello! I'm starting this thread to make myself accountable and as motivation. I've been using MFP for 16 days now and have lost 6lbs, really enjoying it and finding it so easy to use. I'll be posting weigh ins as and when as I am a frequent weigher! Hopefully the loses will continue Grin I started in Janaury as 14 stone 11lbs Shock but I've become complacent

Starting weight - 14 stone 11lbs
Current weight - 12 stone 5lbs
Goal weight - Currently 10 stone 11lbs but I think that I will aim lower once I reach that

On 1,450 a day with an active lifestyle. Would be great to see other peoples loses and experiences with MFP, annoyed I didn't start it sooner!

Another lb down again today that's one per day since Monday Shock I'm not sure if it's the dairy free or not but its also started weighing food rather than estimating when I add things to mfp Smile
I've not noticed a change in portion sizes but you never know Grin

Titsalinabumsquash · 07/08/2015 09:41

Should add that at my six week check post dd I was thirteen stone exactly Shock
Now eight weeks later I'm ten stone and nine pounds Smile

Apologies for the weird way of writing btw I'm on my phone and the punctuation and number bit of the screen is broken Blush Sad

JontyDoggle37 · 07/08/2015 11:19

Emz it just goes to show how much better you're getting to know your body that you can feel the bloat and know what the effect is
Titsalina that's fantastic loss, I'm 12 weeks post birth now, just before I gave birth I weighed 13st 8, now I'm 11st 9.75 (no change for me on the scales today).

j200 · 07/08/2015 14:26

Wow you are both doing so well! I'm 6 months post birth but couldn't have dieted when breastfeeding as was starving all the time!

Just 1lb and a bit off for me so 9 3.5 today. Average calories has been 1424 so not quite the 1200 I was aiming for. I need to be stricter this week as holiday two weeks today and really want to lose a chunk of my mum tum so I can wear a bikini!

Emz449 · 07/08/2015 14:58

Yeah it's definitely easier to recognise the bloated feeling and just feel a bit blurgh. Looking forward to the weekend and I'm planning to sleep most of it! I'm pretty exhausted this week so it's definitely needed can't handle midweek drinking anymore

Emz449 · 07/08/2015 15:01

I have to say, drinking seems to have the worst and biggest effect on my weight, after a night out there's always a big shoot upwards and it drives me mad. I'm glad the sociable couple of months are behind me and I can now concentrate on the November holiday.

Titsalinabumsquash · 07/08/2015 16:36

I'm breastfeeding so I'm ignoring mfp keep moaning at me to reduce my daily calorie allowance I'd starve on their recommendation Confused

leesmum · 07/08/2015 22:18

Ladies you lot are doing Fab, so chuffed for you all, I've had a couple of really crap days, shit at work and bill for £500 for the damage I've done to car Sad anyway I've done a bit of comfort eating so dare'nt weigh myself yet...need to give my head a wobble and send myself some inspirational texts and I'll be fine, don't forget to feel free to amend the August Challenge list if anyone needs to add to it or change it.

Right I'm finishing my glass off wine and getting to bed....tomorrow WILL be a good day Smile

JontyDoggle37 · 08/08/2015 08:09

Morning all no change in the scales for me today but unsurprising as yesterday was shit, baby started crying at 4pm after a happy day and wouldn't stop, then we realised shops have all run out of his Comfort Milk so spent ages chasing round trying to buy some (still haven't got any and we're down to half a box) and ended having to get fish and chips takeaway as DH had to go out by 7.45 last night for a go rehearsal, and there was no time for anything else. I logged it all though, and today is sunny and a new day. 2.5 mile run done already this morning so that's good!

HarryLimeFoxtrot · 08/08/2015 08:18

No change for me either Jonty - my weight is stubbornly stable at 9st 4 - which is disappointing, as I thought I'd had a pretty good week (OK - I've eaten some if my 'exercise' calories, but I've been under my target every day since Monday). Perhaps the amount of exercise I'm doing means I'm gaining muscle and this is countering any weight loss.

NoahVale · 08/08/2015 08:24

DH wanted fish and chips from the chippy for supper Sad
We have had this twice in the past 6 weeks, and it is a meal we NEVER normally have.
Thanks to MFP I know the amount of calories this involves, luckily plans were changed when DD didnt need picking up and didnt want fish and chips either, thus not making it worth the drive
i see to be on 1500 calories a day, but the weight is considerably stubborn.

Dogseggs · 08/08/2015 08:55

Hi all, hope everyone is doing alright.

I just got back from holiday - it was really lovely, and so nice to spend time with teenage DDs. i am feeling a little flat now we are home again, and everyone is doing their own thing, but that is normal I think. I didn't bother with MFP while I was away, but I did try not to pig out too much. Anyway, I came home to find I have stayed at 12st 6, so I was pleased with that!

Back to MFP now. I'd like to join the August challenge if it's not too late?

Starting weight 12st 6, goal weight 12st 2. I have a school reunion coming up later this year and I am sure there will be a lot of photos taken!

Bathsheba3 · 08/08/2015 10:51

I am really missing you lovely lot. Great to hear about all the fab losses, but so annoyed with myself that I'm still so bloody head screwed not in the zone. Am actually sobbing Sad. I was doing so well too. I will be back. In the meantime, keep up the good work everyone

Emz449 · 08/08/2015 13:05

Good afternoon everyone, hope you're all having a lovely day and the weather is nice where you are? it's lovely and sunny in Bristol today.

I weighed this morning at 11 stone 5, yay! Very happy with that and i'm glad the gain/bloating has gone. I've got my scales for the weekend and then lending them to my friend again on Monday, i'd like to see a loss by Monday morning because i won't get to weigh again until Friday morning. I've got dinner prepped for tonight, chicken breast with med veggies and just had a lovely breakfast/lunch of beans and bacon on a sandwich thin. I've got fruit, pom bears and a chocolate bar for snacks, all within my calories Smile

Spending the day getting my boyfriends present sorted and will pop out for a little walk later on.

Glad you had a great holiday Dogs and well done for STS!

I hope you're ok Bath Flowers

Thanks for bouquet Emz. 11 5 is absolutely brilliant. When are the hot air balloons? Must be amazing to see.

2 hours ironing is enough time to talk sense to myself. I really liked the feeling of being in control, and knowing I could be in control, so will remember the feeling of that, rather than concentrate on food - if that make's sense? For me it is purely emotional / comfort eating. When I am in control in my head, I don't get the urge to binge.

I am strong. I know I am strong. And I can do it. I lost a stone+ since June. I can say no to things without either being in denial, or offending anyone. I can eat delicious nutritious food that will feed my body and make me stronger. I don't need sugar or refined carbs that make my face puff-out and my stomach to turn to blubber. I can enjoy a glass of wine, sip it slowly and enjoy it, with a glass of fizzy water on the side, but don't need to finish the bottle, or feel put-out if my DH has more than me Wink

I can go on holiday to Cornwall tomorrow and feel great about myself. I can allow myself to have a bloody good time with my family without any guilt. I can eat a nice breckie (fruit, yogurt etc) and be full without feeling in denial about not eating a full fry-up. I can say no to a Cornish Pasty or a Cream Tea (by god I've had enough of them in my lifetime). I can burn off LOADS of calories boogie boarding.

Enough me me me. Everyone are doing amazingly and you are all an inspiration

Emz449 · 08/08/2015 22:32

They've been all weekend - from about Thursday Bath, great views!

Glad to see you're feeling more positive, you can do it!! I hope you have a great time in Cornwall, very jealous!

JontyDoggle37 · 09/08/2015 07:33

Gah still the same on the scales today, it did a brief flicker toward 11st8.5 then turned resolutely back to 11st9.75! Did have lunch out yesterday, but had a tiny dinner to compensate and with the run as well yesterday was only over my target by 11 calories. Ho hum, hoping for better news tomorrow, I want to hit my August goal by next Sunday morning as that's when we go on holiday (to Cornwall also, xBadz so might see you there!)

Emz449 · 09/08/2015 10:55

11 stone 4 this morning! Very happy with that. Would love another 2lbs by next Friday. Super good this week, preparing my meals today!

JontyDoggle37 · 09/08/2015 13:54

Wow Emz you're flying!! Well done Flowers

Emz449 · 09/08/2015 14:55

Thanks Jonty! Stone and half gone now from using MFP Smile

Emz449 · 09/08/2015 15:01

Just to see it written down....

January Start weight - 14 stone 11

Current weight - 11 stone 4.

For my next goal i need to lose 7 pounds to reach 4 stone lost!

I've decided for my overall goal weight I'd like it to begin with a 9, to have a healthy Bmi it would have to be 10 stone 7 so maybe I'll aim for 9 stone 7

siiiiiiiiigh · 09/08/2015 18:29

Wow, Emz. That's really impressive.

IMustEatMoreVeg · 09/08/2015 20:11

Well done Emz. Keep going.

I am currently in the zone. I have shed 4 of the 5lb target for August and I am not feeling in the least deprived on my 1200 per day. Also walking loads which I am sure is really helping. Isn't it funny how some weeks weight just falls off with hardly any effort and other weeks it is all one can do to not fall face first into any passing cake?!

Emz449 · 09/08/2015 21:03

Thank you both Smile

Imust, you're doing amazingly as well! You're going to smash your August target

This week should be ok food wise. For breakfast it's porridge all week and for lunches I've got soup, fruit and low cal snacks prepared apart from Thursday - work meeting so lunch is provided!

I've got 3 low calorie dinners prepared for Monday to weds and a chicken salad for Thursday. Friday and the weekend may be different though! My Boyfriend wants to go out on Friday night, so I think for the train from Bristol I'm going to make a salad for dinner so I won't buy any train food and try and not drink much as the party is on saturday. It's a BBQ so food is inevitable and drinking! Will try to make good choices and jump straight back on the wagon Monday

j200 · 09/08/2015 21:27

Wow you are doing so well ladies Grin

I have had a very off plan weekend and binge eaten a bit Hmm probably undone my loss of last week so not weighing until Friday so I've got time to undo it. Back on the wagon!!!
