MFP to lose weight

Emz449 · 30/05/2015 18:31

Hello! I'm starting this thread to make myself accountable and as motivation. I've been using MFP for 16 days now and have lost 6lbs, really enjoying it and finding it so easy to use. I'll be posting weigh ins as and when as I am a frequent weigher! Hopefully the loses will continue Grin I started in Janaury as 14 stone 11lbs Shock but I've become complacent

Starting weight - 14 stone 11lbs
Current weight - 12 stone 5lbs
Goal weight - Currently 10 stone 11lbs but I think that I will aim lower once I reach that

On 1,450 a day with an active lifestyle. Would be great to see other peoples loses and experiences with MFP, annoyed I didn't start it sooner!

Hey. Checking in quick before I head off to work. Will catch up on thread later.
yesterday's stats:

  • weight = 15st 12.5
  • calories = 1290

This morning I weighed 15st 11.25.

Will catch up on thread this evening. Hope everyone is having a good day Smile

SmillasSenseOfSnow · 28/07/2015 14:51

Weighed 11st 1 today, after starting on 2 July at 11st 10. Happy it's definitely moving downwards again after an iffy couple of weeks. Smile

Not noticing a huge difference in how clothes fit just yet, but I guess I was pushing into a 16 rather than being a middling 14, without realising. Maybe. I remember in January trying some of the size 12 jeans I used to wear multiple times a week and being amazed when I couldn't get them halfway up my thighs! It'll be an exciting day when I can get them back on. And I expect I'll appreciate how different I look naked at that point!

leesmum · 28/07/2015 21:19

You're doing great Jonty its hard to eat properly with a newborn never mind fitting in some excersise Smile
Cold keep it up, you're doing something right!
Smillas wow that's a brilliant loss in just 3 weeks Smile

Weigh in for me tomorrow WinkGrin

leesmum · 29/07/2015 07:20

Another 1lb down for me, that takes me to 8.13 1/4lb and 10lb lost in total, feel loads better and am starting to fit back into summer stuff! Have a good day all Smile

JontyDoggle37 · 29/07/2015 08:14

leesmum well done that's brilliant!
I have another 1lb off today so now at 11st 10, 12lbs lost in total. I'm on a roll!

Bathsheba3 · 29/07/2015 09:05

Well done everyone on your losses - absolutely brilliant!

Can't say the same for me though. I was 11st 10.5 last Friday, but back up to 11st 13 today. Another big weekend. Plus I'm drinking much more again. Starting off in the morning with very good intentions, but it is my "reward" to get through the day with two petulant argumentative DC's Confused I need to come up with a plan to make ME happy during the school hols. Sorry for the moan.

Emz449 · 29/07/2015 10:06

Well done on the losses everyone, great news and very happy for you all Smile

Bath the gain will be gone in no time and you'll be 11 St 10 again Flowers

I'm going to bite the bullet ad weigh myself Friday, there's no point in trying to hide from it and it might not be as bad as I think, we mostly ate an absolutely ridiculous amount of meat! Low carb and all that Wink

No going out this weekend and no boyfriend so will hopefully stay on track!

OP posts:
SmillasSenseOfSnow · 29/07/2015 20:38

Unintentional sleep deprivation yesterday resulted in a bit of a car crash of a day foodwise - ended up on 1950 cals! Confused Presumably partly because of only eating 1050 the day before though. Not that it makes me feel better.

Trying hard today. Grin

Bathsheba3 · 30/07/2015 08:45

Grrrrr. Very annoyed with myself. I fell off the wagon again last night. Was good all day, poured a glass of wine, then it all went horribly wrong. It's like I know I will fail even before I start. I'm in my running gear but my head is telling me why bother given all the damage I have done food-wise over the last few days. Shake up Bath. Kick up the backside needed her. Feel free ...

Emz449 · 30/07/2015 10:00

Kicks Bath if you're in your running gear that's half the battle! You can do it Bath, one bad night won't sabotage all your good work, plus that workout could help to counter balance it Smile

Weigh in tomorrow, not looking forward to it to be honest! The feast that I had with my boyfriend on Tuesday will probably still be lingering on the scales. I have the scales for the weekend too so will weigh again on Saturday to get my months weight loss, not expecting too much! August is going to be the month I get into the 10's

OP posts:
Emz449 · 30/07/2015 10:02

So on the 1st July I was 11 stone 13lbs, I would like half a stone for July? Obviously would love if it was more, but that's optimistic!

OP posts:
SmillasSenseOfSnow · 30/07/2015 14:05

I was 11st 10 on 2 July, I'm currently 11st 1.5. I hadn't thought of it as having lost x amount in a month but now you've made me look at it like that, I'm pretty happy. If I could lose half a stone every month it would be lovely, but I'm not sure I believe it'll happen quite like that. Grin We'll see! I can but try.

My 'trying hard' yesterday worked out well, I ate just under 1200, and that includes the 3am half a frozen pizza that I should perhaps have added to the day before anyway. So during my 'proper' waking hours yesterday, I only ate 800 cals. Go me! It was tough! /pats self on back Grin

Seriously though, I needed it. I really went overboard on Tuesday.

Emz449 · 31/07/2015 08:39

Well done Smillas, great loss for the month Smile

Annoyingly my scales still say 11 stone 8lbs this morning Hmm although it's not entirely surprising given what I've eaten this week. Back to basics I think with reducing carbs in the evening from Sunday. 15 days until my boyfriends birthday and party so would like to see a difference in that time.

OP posts:
JontyDoggle37 · 31/07/2015 13:25

Emz it will come off soon!!
I had no loss today but have expected that as I lost so much at the start of the week. Got my birthday dinner out tonight, I've guesstimated what I've pre-chosen from the menu calories-wise, it will give me a whole day count of about 1650 so still not too bad!

Emz449 · 31/07/2015 15:26

Happy birthday Jonty, when was it? I hope you have a nice evening, calories don't count on birthdays Wink

Yeah I know it will eventually just a bit frustrating, I want to get to the 10's! Would be so nice to see, it's been a few years ha. My boyfriends away for 10 days so at least he won't be around to tempt me into eating things I shouldn't be!

OP posts:
SmillasSenseOfSnow · 31/07/2015 15:35

Only ate 925 yesterday and shot down to 10st 13.5 on the scales today! I'm in the 10s, just!

Another 0.2 kgs off and I will weigh less than I got to the last time I tried losing weight, in early January. Feels good.

SmillasSenseOfSnow · 31/07/2015 15:36

Oh and Happy Birthday Jonty!

leesmum · 31/07/2015 15:41

Happy Birthday Jonty Flowers

Smillas well done, it must feel good to see 10 rather than 11 on the scales!
Emz and Bath keep at it and you'll get there eventually, don't be put of because you haven't lost what you wanted to SmileSmileSmile

SmillasSenseOfSnow · 31/07/2015 16:02

Thanks leesmum! Actually I didn't see a switch from 11 to 10 because I have digital scales which show kg. But I did see a switch from the 70s to the 60s, which is just as good of course. Congrats on your 10 lbs lost!

Emz449 · 31/07/2015 22:13

Hope everyone has a good weekend on track!

imustbepatient · 01/08/2015 10:21

Happy birthday Jonty!

We finally exchanged on our house sale and purchase this week after ridiculous amount of stress, and we are moving next week.

I just have to get through this last week of manic busyness and then I can restart the focus on losing weight. At the moment I am just trying to stick with it as much as possible and aim for maintenance / small loss until I can kick start with a vengeance!

Have a good weekend all.

Emz449 · 01/08/2015 12:02

Congratulations imustbepatient, you must so happy/relieved!

I weighed in at 11stone 6lbs this morning so happy with that, but 2lbs short of my goal for July. I WILL get into the 10's in August! 6 lbs to go and 9lbs to go to get my original goal weight of 4 stone lost. I think I'm going to aim for 9lbs.

August shouldn't be too bad for social/ food activity! I do have my boyfriends birthday but that's only one weekend Grin
