MFP to lose weight

Emz449 · 30/05/2015 18:31

Hello! I'm starting this thread to make myself accountable and as motivation. I've been using MFP for 16 days now and have lost 6lbs, really enjoying it and finding it so easy to use. I'll be posting weigh ins as and when as I am a frequent weigher! Hopefully the loses will continue Grin I started in Janaury as 14 stone 11lbs Shock but I've become complacent

Starting weight - 14 stone 11lbs
Current weight - 12 stone 5lbs
Goal weight - Currently 10 stone 11lbs but I think that I will aim lower once I reach that

On 1,450 a day with an active lifestyle. Would be great to see other peoples loses and experiences with MFP, annoyed I didn't start it sooner!

Well done Emz- all the hard work paying off! Hope that great loss sets you up for a good weekend Wink

Here's to sticking to 1200 cals over the weekend...

Emz449 · 25/07/2015 09:16

Thanks bath! I hope everyone is getting on alright this weekend. Friday was absolutely fine for me thankfully! I had two drinks that were all accounted for with oh and a count on us meal from m&s on the train home. Today could be different! I can smell my parents cooking bacon and I'm off to wagamamas later. Eep!

I was also 11 stone 8lbs this morning Smile

Tra la Emz! Go you.

(I'm v cross with myself. Took the emotional binging to a whole new level last night. Just about to put gear on & go our for power walk (too bloated to jog Blush).

kittyfisherfoundit · 25/07/2015 10:28

Hello, can I join in?
5ft 6, 11 stone 5 and annoyingly putting on weight despite masses of exercise. Was 11 stone on the nose 6 weeks ago! Decide that logging to mfp will help me figure out where I am going wrong. Have a 10 year old son and a 41 year old husband both of whom are slimmer and far far fitter than me despite eating nothing but beige food! Weekends are a killer so thought starting on a Saturday rather than a Monday may be a good idea Grin

Emz449 · 25/07/2015 14:28

Of course you can Kitty, welcome Smile

Thank you! Logged two meals so far... Think I have found the problem as only got 259 calories left for tea!

Emz449 · 25/07/2015 17:12

Ha yes i found it surprising how quickly the calories added up! What's your daily allowance? Xx

Well done, emz, you are doing amazingly well at this!

Hi, kitty, and welcome. I hope you will find lots of support and inspiration here. It's scary how easily the calories add up, I didn't realise sliced bread used up so many calories for example.

I am a bit fed up. We are off on holiday next week, so I have just been to town to buy a few basic summer tops. The rear view mirror in the changing room was really unforgiving Shock, so I came home feeling a bit down.... it's a bit late now to lose any more before we go. I am determined enjoy myself whatever my shape and size as we have all looked forward to this trip for so long (it's probably our last family holiday now DD1 is heading for university), but I really wish I had started MFP a few months ago!

kittyfisherfoundit · 25/07/2015 19:27

Hi Dogs and Emz... Thank you for the welcome! Am trying 1200 a day as that's what it said when I plugged in all my details. Am now trying to work out what I can eat most of for as few calories! I think I need to plan out my day a bit better tomorrow so I can actually leave my self a good chunk of calories for supper.

I guess wine is out?!

JontyDoggle37 · 26/07/2015 07:23

Bath hope the power walk went well
Emz keep those scales moving, you're on a roll!
Dogs this holiday is about enjoying time with DD. Next holiday will be about enjoying your fab new bikini body!!!Grin
Kit wine is in, you have to learn how to plan well. Also, don't go for 'as much food as possible' evaluate you need to be cutting portion sizes too to train your brain. Instead, aim for lean protein (chicken, fish, filet steak) that fills you up and veg, with small amounts of carbs like oats which are also good value protein wise. So for instance, home made muesli for breakfast (oats, sultanas and chopped nuts), tuna salad for lunch and steak with sweet potato wedges and grilled tomatoes would be well within your 1200, and will keep you full. Also sprinkle a bit of cinnamon on the muesli as it helps you feel full for longer and keeps your blood sugar more balanced (which stops the sugar slumps that lead you to grab a biscuit orchicate bar). Hope that helps!
On my own count, I've been struggling to stay on track just because so much is going on at the moment and I'm finding it hard to track and plan effectively. So this week I really need to prioritise time to do those things and then the scales should start moving faster again!

imustbepatient · 26/07/2015 14:06

Hi everyone sorry for the radio silence, life has been so hectic recently I haven't had time to catch up on the thread. Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

I've been having the same problem of being spot on with my eating during the week but it all falling apart at the weekend! Once I can work out how to crack that particular problem I know I will start seeing the results I so desperately want. Sigh.

We are meant to be moving house in the next couple of weeks (the key phrase there being "meant to"). All the waiting and delays and stress are just taking up so much space in my head that I'm finding it hard to focus on much else. At the moment I know I am 'treating myself' at the weekends. Whereas I should be 'treating' myself by losing weight...

Right, enough of my pity party! I will keep logging my foods with renewed vigour so I stop kidding myself about the weekend damage!

HarryLimeFoxtrot · 26/07/2015 14:12

No weight loss for me this week, but I maintained last weeks weight loss.

SmillasSenseOfSnow · 26/07/2015 15:28

In the last week I've put on 1 lb and lost it again, so pretty cool with that. I'm back on track with food again too. No more eating a meal of 500+ calories and thinking I can work around it by skimping on other meals - it never, ever works! Even had a bottle of raspberry Crabbies last night and it was in my calories.

Emz449 · 26/07/2015 17:02

I hope they do keep moving! Not weighing until Friday, will be interesting. I've got my boyfriend coming up to Bristol with me today so the diet could be a bit different. Planning to stay on track and make good decisions. This weekend hasn't actually been too bad eating wise so I'm hoping if there is a gain it'll be gone by Friday morning Grin

Emz449 · 26/07/2015 17:05

And show a loss hopefully!

What did you have at Wagamama, Emz? I want to enjoy it vicariously through you. Grin

JontyDoggle37 · 27/07/2015 08:06

Mornings all, flying visit as super busy today! But good news is I'm 1.5lbs down on the scales, now at 11st 11. Emz I'm on your tail! I also did my body measurements, which I haven't done since 26th June and since then overall I've lost 4.5 inches!
Been for a run this morning too as exercise always makes me more likely to stick to my eating plan, and decided that on the day I hit my goal of 10st, I'm putting my wedding dress on again, as that's the weight I was on wedding day on 9th August last year, before a baby happened!

Emz449 · 27/07/2015 08:44

Well done Jonty!

No weigh in for me until Friday, staying on track though even though my boyfriend is staying. I've got tomorrow off to spend the day with him which will be nice Smile

I had yaki soba and it was amazing! I did want the katsu curry but at nearly my whole calorie allowance for the day I thought it would be better not to!

leesmum · 27/07/2015 11:23

Well done to those who are losing lbs, especially after weekend!! Its bloomin miserable here today but going to get out for a walk with the DS's and get some naughty Saturday night curry and wine calories burned off Grin

kittyfisherfoundit · 27/07/2015 18:21

Thanks Jonty.. Really useful advice there- and I love cinnamon! Smile much better days yesterday and today. Squared off at 1350 yesterday and so far am doing well today with about 480 left for tea. And have been for a run. Does anyone else obsessively put their favourite things in just to see how much it would be even if not eating/ drinking? ( omg cider!)

kittyfisherfoundit · 27/07/2015 18:22

Oh and well done all on the lb's off!! Amazingly motivational.

Emz449 · 28/07/2015 12:44

It's quiet today, hope everyone is getting on ok Smile I've got the day off work today, my boyfriend has come to stay for a few days and the eating hasn't been amazing! I've managed to stay within my calories but the food is carb heavy, so I've made the decision not to weigh myself this Friday but have asked my friend to bring them as normal next Friday. I don't want to see a gain on the scales when I have been good apart from these few days. I'll still be posting of course and letting you know how my progress is going!

Titsalinabumsquash · 28/07/2015 12:57

I'm still 11 stone (boo!) but I have lost inches on my bust/waist and hips (hooray!) Smile

JontyDoggle37 · 28/07/2015 13:19

Afternoon all! No difference in the scales for me today, but definitely feeling lighter. Did well on food yesterday, came in at around 1400 calories, which included a latte and a slice of cake when I met my cousin and her daughter for a walk. I'm not sticking religiously to the 1200 calories, because I'm looking after newborn, getting broken sleep etc and I think my body needs s little bit more to keep going, but 1400-1500 a day works for me and I'm still losing weight.
