MFP to lose weight

Emz449 · 30/05/2015 18:31

Hello! I'm starting this thread to make myself accountable and as motivation. I've been using MFP for 16 days now and have lost 6lbs, really enjoying it and finding it so easy to use. I'll be posting weigh ins as and when as I am a frequent weigher! Hopefully the loses will continue Grin I started in Janaury as 14 stone 11lbs Shock but I've become complacent

Starting weight - 14 stone 11lbs
Current weight - 12 stone 5lbs
Goal weight - Currently 10 stone 11lbs but I think that I will aim lower once I reach that

On 1,450 a day with an active lifestyle. Would be great to see other peoples loses and experiences with MFP, annoyed I didn't start it sooner!

I have crept back just over the 80kg mark Sad but I had a stressful couple of days and reached for the wine - then the wine made me eat a pot of olives with it.

I hope to be back on track this week, fresh start today and all that. I just had a boiled egg and a slice of toast for late breakfast, so I won't be having any lunch.

Well done harry, jonty and rugbymum, keep going!

bathsheba it's nice you are noticing the difference, do you feel more energetic? I definitely notice a difference since cutting my sugar and flour intake

Dogseggs · 28/06/2015 12:37

Hi emz, you'll get there soon enough - you've done amazingly well since you started. well done getting through the move, it must have been really tough syaing goodbye. Hope the week flies past so you can be together again soon.

Bathsheba3 · 28/06/2015 19:31

Yes dogseggs - more energy. Well, more of spring in my step I'd say. Sorry to hear your weight has crept up. Think mine will do too after today Sad. I gave up the vino for June. No idea how I'm going to fit those calories into my 1200 / day as of wednesday especially as I can't stop at the 1 glass

Hope everyone are doing OK. Weekends are SO much harder...

Emz449 · 28/06/2015 20:17

Agreed weekends are much harder, I enjoy my work day normality.

Thinking about it July could be difficult, away on the weekend of the 10th to see OH and then the weekend after that he will be with me and it's one of our friends birthdays on the Friday, a leaving do on the Saturday and also a weekend festival is happening at the same time and then I think the Cornwall trip at the end of the month!

leesmum · 28/06/2015 21:46

I agree weekends are tough but I've managed (just about) to stay under 1200 cals. I have had NO alcohol this weekend and haven't missed it too much but not sure if I could become teetotal Grin I am enjoying my 12 cal can of sugar free Bitter Shandy though!! Keep up the good work ladies Star

JontyDoggle37 · 29/06/2015 07:13

Bathsheba it is do-able but if like me you find stopping at one difficult, maybe don't have wind in the house during the week, or at all, and just go out for a drink once s week and buy a single glass? Incidentally, when we go out for dinner, I order one glass of wine and s large bottle of water at the same time, put out the water too, and when I've finished my wine I sort of naturally migrate onto the water because it's there, rather than order more wine.
Anyway, no loss this morning so just still in the twelves, but two more weigh ins yet! Two mile run in a minute....

JontyDoggle37 · 29/06/2015 07:14

Oh dear god, autocorrect! WINE in the house during the week, not wind!!!!!Grin

Bathsheba3 · 29/06/2015 09:02

We have a plentiful supply of both wind and wine Jonty - both thanks to my DH Wink

Emz449 · 29/06/2015 10:28

No loss this morning either, 2 more days!

Discovered that my new address is a 45 minute walk to and from work which has its benefits, I've already done 6,500 steps ????

Bathsheba3 · 29/06/2015 13:23

12 st 1 1/4 this morning, so 3/4 lb loss.

DD refusing to go to school off sick so can't go out for a run today. Am busy burning cals with housework instead. Bathrooms done. About to start hoovering & mopping. Also procrastinating and not doing my work ...

imustbepatient · 29/06/2015 14:01

Wow Emz with all those steps I'm sure you'll be into the 11s on Wednesday! It must have been such a sad weekend for you, I hope you manage to fit in the long weekend in Cornwall to have a good burst of time together.

I find weekends harder too to stick to my threshold of calories too, and especially at the moment when we seem to have some sort of family or friends gathering to attend every weekend! Like you Bathsheba I can stay under my calories without difficulty on the days I don't drink. I'm starting to try things like wine spritzers and pink G&T's to stretch out the calories. Wine spritzers are refreshing but never taste as good as the wine on its own though!

leesmum where do you get your 12 cal can of sugar free Bitter Shandy from? Sounds good!

I do give myself a higher limit for calories at the weekend though, and then keep to a lower amount during the week. It seems to help keep me more accountable at the weekends that way, as I know I still have to log my weekend food and keep to a limit, rather than what I did previously which was "it's the weekend I can eat and drink what I want and what I think is a reasonably healthy amount until I get the shock of my life when I write it down and realise how many calories are in what doesn't seem an excessive amount of food ". But keeping to an increased limit means I still get to have some wine and the odd meal out. I really want this to work as a complete lifestyle change rather than a short term diet, so I have to find a way of making this work on a long term basis.

Dogs I'm sure you'll be back in the 70s again in a few days, and at least the wine only made you eat olives. I suspect I would have been head first into a bag of crisps...

jonty really good suggestion on the water trick, thanks! I think that would work for me with having wine at home too, so that if I have a glass of water next to my wine glass, I would move onto the water when the wine is gone.

Hope everyone enjoys the sun this week! [makes mental note to drink body weight in water]

imustbepatient · 29/06/2015 14:03

PS Woohoo on the 3/4 pound loss Bathsheba !

leesmum · 29/06/2015 17:16

imustbepatient the 12 cal bitter shandy was from Morrison's £1.50 for 6 cans, nice and refreshing on a day like today. Good waking Emz I walk to work and back too, I had a pedometer on one day and also went for a run later...I did nearly 24,000 steps!! That was a one-off though! Well done Bath on your loss.. Keep going. I'm not weighing myself till wed morning, I'd better have lost something because I have been dead good Grin

Emz449 · 29/06/2015 18:02

Well done on your loss Bath!

Yeah I do like walking, it kinda helps with my back too which is great. Managed to find my walk to work with google maps this morning, got a bit lost Grin

There was also a bake sale at work today and I had the most amazing malteaser cake, managed to make it work with my calories too!

Curiousrugbymum · 29/06/2015 18:04

Drinking gin and tonic....I think it is less sinful than wine or lager Confused

Curiousrugbymum · 29/06/2015 18:10

But DH managed to get me full dT tonic...but it is the nice fever tree stuff

Notstayingup · 29/06/2015 18:14

Hello everyone, just want to join. Am all inspired by your amazing weightlosses, so have started today. I have put on 4 stone in the last 2 years, partly work stress, partly injured foot. I am miserable and it is really effecting my self esteem now. So I am onboard! Start weight 16 stone 3 lbs. I am going to aim for 2 stone off first and then reset my goals.

imustbepatient · 29/06/2015 21:15

Thanks leesmum I will definitively be heading to my handily close morrisons!

Welcome notstaying and well done on diving in. You'll get there I know.

Rugby I love the fever tree stuff too. I've bought some angostura bitters in this week's online shop so I can make pink g&t with a lime slice. It feels like such a decadent drink and really summery. I'm trying really hard to find things I like but which also like me...

imustbepatient · 29/06/2015 21:17

I meant to say Emz the malteaser cake sound lovely and really inspiring that you could fit it in your calories for the day too.

Bathsheba3 · 29/06/2015 22:48

Welcome not. Stick to it, and get your mindset right, and you'll be in the 15s within the week, and 14's soon enough.

Hello everyone else. Salivating at the thought of GnT and malteaser cake. Big no-no's for me for June (cut out alcohol & sugar). Not sure what I'm going to do in July yet though. Being an all-or-nothing girl, I don't think I could have stopped at the one cake Emz, even with logging it in. Hats off to you.

Feeling stronger Dogs?

You are very patient I must holding out tip Weds for your weigh-in (I can't resist a daily peak) What's with the username then ?!!

Curiousrugbymum · 30/06/2015 07:17

Pink g&t ....sounds delicious Smile

Bathsheba3 · 30/06/2015 07:58

Anyone in the 11's yet? I'm in suspense here

leesmum · 30/06/2015 08:03

Oh my!!! Got on the scales and I've lost 4lb!!! Am now 9.5lb...just got to keep it up now, have a lovely day ladies and be careful in this heat StarSmileStar

JontyDoggle37 · 30/06/2015 08:25
