MFP to lose weight

Emz449 · 30/05/2015 18:31

Hello! I'm starting this thread to make myself accountable and as motivation. I've been using MFP for 16 days now and have lost 6lbs, really enjoying it and finding it so easy to use. I'll be posting weigh ins as and when as I am a frequent weigher! Hopefully the loses will continue Grin I started in Janaury as 14 stone 11lbs Shock but I've become complacent

Starting weight - 14 stone 11lbs
Current weight - 12 stone 5lbs
Goal weight - Currently 10 stone 11lbs but I think that I will aim lower once I reach that

On 1,450 a day with an active lifestyle. Would be great to see other peoples loses and experiences with MFP, annoyed I didn't start it sooner!

Hilarious! Might go shopping for scales myself today! But what if my current scales were under by 10lbs? could you imagine the horror ?!!!!

Emz449 · 26/06/2015 11:32

Ha that's amazing cheap! What weight does that put you at?

Last night was amazing, the food was great and we shared an ice cream Sundae too Smile I also ended the day in the green thanks to all the walking!

Weighed this morning at 12 stone on the dot still which I'm happy about! Lots of cleaning and packing today so will be busy and burning lots of calories hopefully.

Hope everyone has a good day Smile

thanks very much everyone for your kind thoughts, really lovely of you.

welcome curiousrugbymum!

Loving your scales cheap, wonder where I can get some that do that.... But yes, imagine the horror of buying ones that give a higher reading!

cheapandcheerful · 26/06/2015 15:17

Haha, yes I do appreciate that the scales thing is quite hilarious!

It turns out that I am actually 10st 9lb rather than the 11st 5lb that my old scales led me to believe!

I am celebrating by forgetting about mfp tonight and indulging in a chinese take-away and a bottle of red with dh sorry everyone

JontyDoggle37 · 26/06/2015 15:33

Cheap for that I'm going to sneak in and swap your scales back! (Kidding!)Grin

cheapandcheerful · 26/06/2015 15:43

Don't worry Jonty I'll be back on it first thing tomorrow with a 9am 5km run :)

Bathsheba3 · 26/06/2015 18:12

Enjoy every mouthful cheap and have some extra prawn crackers too!

Curiousrugbymum · 26/06/2015 19:37

Well...day 1 and I can report that it is working. Desperate for DH to get home with curry Blush. However, so far today I have avoided eating a curly wurly, a packet of crisps, a piece of chocolate cake and some shortbread biscuits. Without the guilt trip of MFP I would have succumbed to at least 50% of those! But man....I am hungryGrin

standingonlego · 26/06/2015 19:39

I do want to borrow cheap scales though Wink.

JontyDoggle37 · 26/06/2015 20:18

The thing I curious about cheap is do you feel lighter now you know you are lighter? Has it had any psychological effect? Other than the ability to eat prawn crackers Smile

cheapandcheerful · 26/06/2015 20:23

I don't feel lighter but I did feel skinnier today - not sure if that was just because of a new flattering outfit though...

Dogseggs · 26/06/2015 20:33

Well done everyone on losing the pounds. It's great reading how you are getting on, it's really helped me stick to it.

How are you doing today imust? Sorry to hear your sad news

welcome curiousrugbymum, it was curry night here for us too... i had no naan bread this time, but I still feel nicely full. I have cut right down on bread in an attempt to keep the calories down, and my stomach is loads less bloated. I only look 3 months pregnant now Grin

I want to borrow cheap's magic scales, what a bonus! Enjoy your dinner Wine

leesmum · 26/06/2015 22:19

Love to hear how well you are all doing, keep it up ladies Smile I'm on day 5 and I've been so good, not got on scales yet but hoping for at least 2/3lbs!! And I have flavoured water in my wine glass....unheard of for a Fri night Grin enjoy your evening everyone.

peacoat · 26/06/2015 22:23

Howdy everyone. Sounds like more good stuff going on.

cheap that is a result! Hope you are enjoying your chinese and wine.

imust I hope you are feeling ok today.

Thanks jonty. I have taken loads of psyllium husk today. Let's hope! I feel like I need to start this again.

Bathsheba3 · 27/06/2015 08:56

Down another 1/4 lb to 12 st 2. Don't think I'll be in the 11s by tues / weds, esp with a lunch and dinner out today. Hope things get moving soon peacoat.

I know Jonty will have been up and out for run already Wink, so I'll do the same - but perhaps more of a jog for me as will take the dog too and he's too lazy to run. Still, every bit helps though ?

Have a great weekend everyone! We can do this. Be strong & keep counting calories

Bathsheba3 · 27/06/2015 09:00

Forgot to say hello to Emz. Hang in there this weekend. Be strong girl. Oh - and thank you for starting this lovely supportive mfp thread. You are a Star

imustbepatient · 27/06/2015 09:53

Thanks very much dogs and peacoat, lots of tears last night when speaking to family on the phone. A bit of a release of emotion though I think, which is a good thing.

Hope the psyllium husks do the trick!

Well done on the downwards movements on the scales Bathsheba. I've gone down a pound this week, so whilst the weight isn't exactly falling off me, it is going in the right direction and means that if I keep this up I will eventually get there Smile

Hope everyone has a lovely Saturday in the sun.

Emz449 · 27/06/2015 12:56

Thank you Bathsheba, I'm so glad I started it too, it definitely keeps me on track and I find it very motivational seeing others losses!

Today is quite a hard day, yesterday we spent the entire day cleaning, I must have burnt so many calories! It was ridiculous. I thought our flat was very clean, but the paranoia of agency checks set in! I really, really want to get our full deposit back though, it's hopefully going towards my holiday in November! Tonight will be the first night in my new house and I'm not reat looking forward to it. The lady who I will be living with is lovely but it's just going to be very different. I'll get used to it though, just have to think that it's only a year!

Diet wise, still making sure I log everything but I haven't been able to weigh myself this morning, scales have been packed away! Will see what they say on the 1st I think and hope that I'm in the 11's!

JontyDoggle37 · 27/06/2015 13:43

Emz all the moving effort must knock a lot of calories off! Good luck with the deposit
Bathsheba you were correctGrin, two miles done this mornings, plus a session on the dreaded foam roller when I got back. No more weight lost today, but as I'm aiming at losing two pounds per week in July, I upgraded my MFP to lose weight at that rate, instead of 1.5lbs a week, and it promptly dropped me from 1400 calories a day to 1200! So I've got to be super good now!
Also, I've amended my nutrition goals, dropping carbs to 40% and increasing protein to 30%. I've noticed too that I'm struggling to hit calcium and iron levels each day, so I'm doing some research today to work out what foods I can bring in to help hit these levels more consistently, as the iron will help with tiredness, and I have osteoporosis in my family, so calcium is really important. It's all getting technical now lol!

JontyDoggle37 · 27/06/2015 15:53

Note to self: doing food research makes you hungry and is therefore dangerous! Have had to resort to some cucumber sticks to give me something to eat that isn't calorific!

JontyDoggle37 · 28/06/2015 08:32

Ooh, it's like a ghost town on here! Well, scales say I've lost a quarter of a pound since yesterday, so tiny though it might be, I'm still celebrating! So now I'm 12st 0 3/4lbs....still in with a chance of making it into 11's by Wednesday morning weigh in. MFP tells me I could make it to 11st 4 in five weeks, and coincidentally my birthday is on 31st July, so that is my new target! As long as I stay off the wine, I think it's totally achievable, and as we're supposed to be going on a beach holiday in August, I have extra incentive to get as much weight off by then as possible!

Bathsheba3 · 28/06/2015 08:54

Jonty - fantastic! Plus great goals. And if you keep it up you'll be needing a new wardrobe - unless you are just pinging back to pre-baby weight?

I stayed the same this morning but totm clutching at straws. I won't get to 11s on weds but may do by next weekend. My body has def changed though. I was out at party last night and felt really good Smile

Curiousrugbymum · 28/06/2015 09:35

I have just realised that Wine is another enemy - but thanks to my run managed to have enough left for a glass :) This is so hard even only 3 days in but being inspired by this thread.

Do not have scales at home so hoping to see some positive news when go to gym on Tuesday

HarryLimeFoxtrot · 28/06/2015 10:15

I've lost 0.5lb this week. I had a terrible day yesterday and succumbed to white toast and marmalade as an early evening snackBlush on a day with no exercise calories

Emz449 · 28/06/2015 12:28

Hi All, still 12 stone on the dot, just want those scales to move into the 11 territory! Got a few days to go though and I'm feeling hopeful! Yesterday's moving went ok, I've unpacked all of my things and settled in. Legs are very aches today. There's no wifi though Shock but my landlord is going to be sorting that this week thank god. Saying good bye to my boyfriend and leaving the flat yesterday was horrible, we were both in tears! He's not actually leaving the country until August but because our tenancy was up we had to leave our flat and I have to stay where I am because of my job, while he is at home with his parents. So it will be a three hour train journey every other weekend for us until then. Hoping to fit in a long weekend to go camping in Cornwall at some point which would be nice.

Diet wise I barely had time to eat yesterday, only just made it over 1000 calories because I made myself eat a kitkat; realised MFP won't make a log of anything unless you are over that amount.

Not sure what my July goal should be? Aiming for the 10's might be too optimistic although great so maybe the mid 11's if I'm aiming for 2lbs a week. Will see what I am on the 1st July Smile

Well done everyone on the great weight loss!
