MFP to lose weight

Emz449 · 30/05/2015 18:31

Hello! I'm starting this thread to make myself accountable and as motivation. I've been using MFP for 16 days now and have lost 6lbs, really enjoying it and finding it so easy to use. I'll be posting weigh ins as and when as I am a frequent weigher! Hopefully the loses will continue Grin I started in Janaury as 14 stone 11lbs Shock but I've become complacent

Starting weight - 14 stone 11lbs
Current weight - 12 stone 5lbs
Goal weight - Currently 10 stone 11lbs but I think that I will aim lower once I reach that

On 1,450 a day with an active lifestyle. Would be great to see other peoples loses and experiences with MFP, annoyed I didn't start it sooner!

peacoat I'm in the same boat as you. I haven't gone since Saturday. Today an orange will be eaten. That should agitate things along Wink

Dogseggs · 23/06/2015 08:23

I have the opposite problem, and have been running to the loo a lot the last two days! Not good when you are out walking and a long way from home. I must have used lots of calories just through willpower and clenching Blush.

Still, I have just weighed myself and am down 1lb since 6 days ago, so I am happy with that.

Sorry to hear that jonty I hope something good turns up for you.

fortified, how lovely. what a nice thing to hear from your DD.

Bathsheba3 · 23/06/2015 11:59

Great news on 1lb loss Dogs - whoop whoop! Lucky you too on being able to "go"! I'm in peacoat & fortified's camp. I reckon it is because there aren't the same volumes going through my system. It certainly isn't down to not drinking enough water or eating enough veg. Resorting to linseeds here.

So sorry to hear about job situation Jonty. I hope out of the bad news will come some good for you.

poor you Emz - life is going to be very different for you. Hope you manage to keep strong with bf away, and as you said, a good goal to get / keep in shape for next visit!

Bathsheba3 · 23/06/2015 12:01

Having a better day today Cheap? yes or no, come share with us if it helps!

cheapandcheerful · 23/06/2015 13:31

A bit better thanks bathsheba.

It just feels like I spend all my time at the moment looking after everyone else, picking up the pieces, covering everyone else's backs and it feels like there's nobody looking out for me. And every time there is the opportunity for me to have/do something nice, my dh makes such a song-and-dance about it...

It sounds pathetic but it's getting to me at the moment.

And I suppose the sudden weight gain hasn't done much for my confidence but at least it gives me an excuse to focus on me for a bit.

Eliza22 · 23/06/2015 16:39

Cheapandcheerfull, it's good you can focus a bit more on you... Keep your chin up!

I didn't weigh myself last week as I was disappointed with my progress so far and knew I had a "sociable" weekend looming. Today I am 4.5 lbs down altogether. Not mammoth but in the right direction! I have added a short "round the block" cycle ride to my exercise today (I do a 20 mins brisk walk and 10 mins running) so, should have enough calls to enjoy my chilli and salad!

4 weeks and 4 days to Italy!

Emz449 · 23/06/2015 18:00

That's great eliza, especially after a busy weekend!

You deserve to focus on yourself for a while cheapandcheerful it sounds like you deserve it Flowers

peacoat · 23/06/2015 18:44

Eliza I like how you are introducing bits of exercise, good plan. And cheap do focus on you. It's not pathetic that it's getting to you, it would get to anyone.

All I can say is I'd really like a good poo. Nothing beats a good poo. I wonder if its as you say bath, that there just isn't the same volume to move. I drink at least 2 litres of water a day and eat my body weight in fruit and veggies so that definitely isn't it.

I have 1.45 hours until my boyfriend arrives to finish off my essay. Enjoy your evenings!

leesmum · 23/06/2015 20:19

Well done to those that are losing the lbs! I've had two really good days I'm doing mfp and was given 1200 cals a day and have been just under on both days, I'm starving now though so I'm in bed with a cup of tea because if I was downstairs I would've been tempted to start scoffing! Hope you all have a good day tomorrow Smile

HarryLimeFoxtrot · 23/06/2015 20:32

I've had a really good day on the exercise front - I've 'earned' 315 exercise caloriesSmile

Must try not to eat all of them though difficult when there are pink Magnums in the freezer

I'm really impressed with those of you staying under 1200 per day - my daily target is 1270, and some days I really struggle not to be massively over.

Sansarya · 23/06/2015 20:36

Weigh in day today and I've lost two kilos since last week. Am wondering how accurate the scales are as that seems a bit too good to be true!

JontyDoggle37 · 23/06/2015 21:02

Sansarya that's amazing! Well done!
Pea I never imagined typing this, but good luck with the poo!
cheap time spent on yourself is always valuable, enjoy every minute!
I've had a good day, come in just under calorie target and not used any of my exercise calories. Hopefully I might get a little reduction on the scales tomorrow....

leesmum · 23/06/2015 21:12

I was going to ask if you all eat back your calories, I do if its over 300 but not under! Well done Sansarya that's brill

Emz449 · 23/06/2015 22:33

Well done Sansarya! That's amazing

imustbepatient · 23/06/2015 23:12

Well done sansarya and Eliza!

Peacoat have you tried a couple of dried apricots? I think I saw earlier you have already tried flaxseed / linseed. I've used psyllium husk capsules too, if you are near a holland and Barrett or similar. Good luck!

I've now had two really good days of healthy eating and got out for my run stagger today. I feel much better for it too. Well not during the run, but afterwards.

This week's trick will be to keep it all going right through the weekend...

leesmum · 24/06/2015 07:17

That's my problem I mustbepatient I'm so good in the week then tend to blow it by Fri!... NOT this weekend though Wink

Bathsheba3 · 24/06/2015 08:05

I'm struggling. Daren't get on the scales this morning. I've been feeling like you Cheap. Resorted to the most enormous bowl cornflakes last night to make myself "feel better" which of course it totally failed to do. Feel like I am going backwards not forwards.

Today is a new day. Be strong me. It will be worth it. Will have to write off cornflakes as today's brekkie though as over-ate for yesterday anyhow.

Sansarya · 24/06/2015 08:14

I made a new food discovery last night - Zero Noodles! Only 4 calories per 100 grams. I'm sure that by themselves they aren't the most appetising things but in a stir fry they pick up the spices and are fine. Meant that the Singapore Noodles I made last night were much lower in fat and calories than they usually are, so I was able to fill myself up. Might try them in a Pad Thai tonight...

JontyDoggle37 · 24/06/2015 08:20

Bathsheba stick with it, you're doing great.,can you think of something non-food that would feel like a treat when you need a pick-me-up?
Well, scales say I'm 1.5lbs lighter this morning! Which means im now 12st2 and within grasping distance of making it into the 11's by 1 July. Im on a mission now! Run already done this morning, should manage long dog walk later too.

fortifiedwithtea · 24/06/2015 08:24

Bathsheba some days are just plain hungry days. You are right to draw a line under yesterday. Today you will be strong, avoid the scales if you think they will be demotivating.

If it was me, I wouldn't add the corn flakes as this mornings brekkie - it will put you on the back foot before you've begun the day. Those cornflakes belong to Tuesday.

Today I have had porridge and am glowing like the kid in the '70s Ready Brek commercial. Its either that or the menopause Grin

Bathsheba3 · 24/06/2015 10:32

Ahhh, thank you for msgs. Yes fortified - have avoided scales and will do til I know I'll be 12st2 the same as Jonty (which is amazing btw!!!).

Zero noodles sound good. I've got a busy day ahead, so head down.

Did you get your assignment done Pea? A big weight lifted no doubt.

Dogseggs · 24/06/2015 11:35

Morning all, how are you all getting on today? I weighed in at under 80kg for the first time in god knows how long (79.9kg to be precise Grin). Second day in a row that the scales have showed a loss, so relieved after staying the same weight five days in a row last week.

Do you find it easier to eat less in the warm weather? My DH bought me a big box of chocs yesterday after being away with work for a few days (I don't think he has noticed I am cutting down on food!) but I haven't really fancied them. Normally I would have scoffed half of them already.

Well done jonty, that's brilliant! enjoy your dog walk later. I am off to do the same in a bit, if she'll get off her bed. She's getting on a bit now and is slowing down.

Bathsheba3 · 24/06/2015 13:01

Great you have hit the next bracket dogs! Very motivating for you (& me!)

Emz449 · 24/06/2015 17:46

Well done at all the great losses, it's brilliant Smile

I weighed the same this morning, not expecting to lose anything for a few days in all honesty, I've tried to guess the calories in my meal for tomorrow night and it's come to about 1700 Shock just for dinner! Having a light breakfast and dinner to try and make up for it! Even with my exercise calories I'm still going to be over by about 600 but in a way I don't care too much, Friday will be spent cleaning our flat and packing up and Saturday will be moving day and I want to enjoy the time with my boyfriend before he leaves.

Oh lunch update! Was quite good actually, they had mini wraps, so I had two of those that probably were less then half of a sandwich wrap, half of a warburtons sandwich thin, both the wrap and thin were ham and cheese and then a coronation chicken sandwich quarter, oh and a mini muffin Blush they were all quite small so I've added it as 610 calories. Does that seem right? There was salad on the side too
