Alevere / Alizonne

dm2ooo · 23/03/2015 11:46

For reasons unknown, the name of the Alizonne diet has changed to Alevere. I have only known it as Alevere and wanted to start a new thread so people can find it under the new name.

I am nearing the end of week 1 and have lost 8lbs so far. I don't count this much as I lose 7lbs in the first week of any diet. I'll see how I go over the next few weeks.

It's a lot of work to follow but I'm getting used to it. Would be happy to swap tips with anyone - particularly on recipes.

Also very happy as I won £500 today which covers a lot of the 1st month costs!!! :)

Week 2 –
My month 1 reduction is estimated to be around 7-8 KGs , I had reduced 4 kgs on Week 1 but week 2 was a dud and I only lost 1 KG :-( . Even though the Alevere clinic did say that I am working on target but I was definitely a bit disappointed after such a big loss in week 1 :-) … Too greedy to loose more .

Till now I have lost 5.0 KGs so another 2 to loose. I am almost finishing on week 3 and moving on to my final week . I will be at Alevere clinic at around 3.5 weeks after which I will post my week 3 updates.

If you are new to the program it gets so easy as you move in to week 2 -3 …I am now in week 3 and it is a cool ride for me . Just need to make sure you get the right choices on sachets .

Tips –
· Having drinks on 5 meals are just fine , I just prefer cold shakes than hot ones so this makes things a lot easier .
· During lunch and Dinner try and take more unlimited veg/ salasd as this helps with any bowel problems if you have . Also helps in weight reduction by not keeping yourself hungry.
· Use the given allowance of 1 tablespoon of olive oil else your body will be getting no required fat .
· Exercise was on my mind but after speaking to Alevere consultant I felt this is something you should do once you stop Alevere as you need to burn more but in Alevere program it is upto individuals to decide if they need exercise . Walking and being active are recommended but any heavy exercise like weights or others is personal choice . I am mostly being active and planning to start on walking from next week . Otherwise not planning to do any exercise .

Hi everyone, I started Alevere last Sunday but have lots of questions. I haven't had any support calls from the clinic yet and so reading this forum has been great to keep my spirits up. I have lots of questions from my first week I'd be grateful if anybody could help with anybody of them! Ive a long way to go so I want to learn to make this easier

  1. I saw somebody say somewhere that they have a satsuma in the morning as a snack but I had thought we were only allowed the fruit and veg (limited and unlimited) at lunch and dinner. Are we able to have some of the 200g allowance of limited through the day?
  2. Are we able to swap when we have the evening meal and snack around? I'd prefer to have evening meal when I come in from work and a drink later on as a snack if this is possible.
  3. I used the swap box to get a vegetable chilli and a strawberry milkshake but there are no instructions on the sachets (a problem I have found annoying all week and have started writing in marker pen on them all!). Does anybody know the instructions for those by any chance?
  4. I think I will find it difficult having so little variety (the swap box didn't have much choice either when I went) and wondered can you get additional boxes? It wasn't ideal having the exact same thing every day all last week and I'm worried Ill get sick of the repetition pretty quickly
  5. The doctor told me I can continue with my pilates class as its crucial for managing my back condition but I was so hungry that night after the class that I couldn't get to sleep until about 4am (I generally struggle sleeping anyway but my tummy was rumbling really badly lol). Has anybody else had issues with exercise causing hunger? I was still starving the next day.
  6. I noticed somebody mentioned an onion bhaji recipe (with chicken goujon mix) but I couldn't find it. Could anybody help?
  7. I really like gherkins but cant find any in brine. I know we are allowed vinegar but didn't know if gherkins in vinegar are ok/same? If they have to be in brine has anybody seen any? Ive been in a Tesco, Sainsburys, Asda and Aldi and had no luck so far.

So sorry for all the questions when new to the group but any help would be appreciated and I look forward to reading all of your posts to keep me motivated :)

Hi Lindyloo607

I can answer some of these for you. Do check all my answers with your clinic when you next speak to them as I am only answering from my experience.

  1. I've only ever had any fruit/veg from the limited allowance at lunch and dinner time.
  1. Again, I've always stuck to the suggested order so this is definitely something to check.
  1. Strawberry milkshake - measure out 230ml of cold water and add the powder to it, then give it a good shake. Sorry I don't know the veg chilli one.
  1. I totally agree! I really don't understand why they don't offer mixed boxes. If the swapbox isn't very good, you can buy extra boxes for £20 each. It does get expensive but really, really helps.
  1. I haven't been exercising but I know some people are told to have an extra sachet if they exercise so I would definitely ask about this. You shouldn't be hungry at all on this diet.
  1. The onion bhaji recipe is on page 23 of this thread.
  1. Not sure about the gherkins but vinegar is definitely OK so I don't see why that would be a problem.

Good luck - it really does work! It takes a bit of time to find the sachets you like, but once you do it's fine.

I started on 120kg on 1 May and am now on Stage 3, hoping to hit my target weight of 88kg this week!

lindyloo607 · 01/10/2017 21:15

Thanks Bagpuss2017 I appreciate your quick replies :)
I will definitely look into the extra boxes for variety and see if I am allowed an additional sachet on my pilates days (maybe this week I wont need it but would be nice to know the option might be there if I struggle again on those days)

You have done fantastically well!!! Quite similar starting weight to me - I started at 123kg . So is that 5 stone in 5 months? (not used to the kgs yet haha). You must be feeling amazing!! Fingers crossed for your 88kg this week!!

Bagpuss2017 · 03/10/2017 21:59

I hit my target weight tonight - hurrah!

I’ve gone from 120kg on 1 May to 87.1kg today, so about five stone in five months. I feel great (although a bit stressed about having to buy a new wardrobe!).

Four weeks of stabilisation now and then I will be celebrating with a (very small) glass of wine.

Keep going everyone, it’s worth it.

Godly312 · 07/10/2017 20:20

Hi, completely new to this thread but spent the last couple of weeks reading all the posts over and over. I am seriously considering trying Alevere to help me lose weight. I want to lose at least 6 stone and have been on everything without success, mainly due to just struggling to plan it all out. I travel the world with my job, on flights and in different time zones every week. As an example 2 weeks ago I was 4 hours ahead of UK, then last week I was 6 hours behind UK time. I am now home for 2 weeks before I have a week in the US (6 hours behind UK) with the following week in South Korea (7 hours ahead of UK). I virtually live in hotels and I am again worried about the preparation and how I am going to eat according to the plan.

It's been really helpful to read all your posts as I would really appreciate your feedback on whether this programme is going to be manageable. The most local clinic to me is Leeds and about 30 miles away so I need to be able to get there weekends. Is this programme feasible for me do you think?

Linc94 · 08/10/2017 15:30

Hi everyone
This is my first week on Alevere so I'm hoping someone can help me.
I'm starting as 86kg but want to lose 2 or 3 stone.
I'm aware this is very expensive but can someone confirm if you have to complete the full duration?
The doctors told me about 11-12 weeks but the another told me you lose 70% of weight in the first two weeks?
I'm such a fussy eater and so far have tried omelette, orange and grapefruit drink, peach and mango and I don't like them, I can stomach them but I want to be able to enjoy them like what people are saying they do..
I'm trying to chicken nuggets tonight but I'm very limited to veg due to being so fussy.
I don't like milkshakes so these and the hot drinks are out of the question - do you get used to the proteiny taste in time or do you just stomach it and move on?
I'm also quite hungry too, is this normal?

:)

mrspannie · 12/10/2017 21:02

This is my first week on the programme and I have 12kg to lose in order to get back to my goal weight. Two days done - yay!

I did the programme before (when it was called Alizonne) back in 2012 and that time I lost 37kg. I maintained pretty successfully for the first 3 years, but the last 2 have been stressful (life sometimes gets in the way) and I guess my focus wasn't quite there so the weight crept on. 12kgs isn't too bad, but it equates to 2 dress sizes for me and I'd like to get back into my svelte wardrobe and feel good again.

I decided to go back to Alevere because I know it works and I want to reverse the weight increase before it gets out of hand.

Great reading all your updates - super helpful.

Onwards and downwards....

Angielester1 · 16/10/2017 19:38

Just about to start this! Omg what am I doing?!

mrspannie · 16/10/2017 21:28

Hi Angie - welcome aboard! Great to have you with us. How much are you hoping to lose? I've got my first weigh in tomorrow (only 6 days in, but they didn't have any appointments on Wednesday p.m.). Fingers crossed.

Onwards and Downwards...

Angielester1 · 17/10/2017 09:51

So I am starting this on the 20/10 and I am a fussy eater! I can't drink shakes. I can't have anything the consistency of custard. When I saw the meal, assumed that were like army portions of packet stuff, not liquid! So I don't know what to do. I love fruit and veg and could probably live off those but am really not sure! Help!!

Angielester1 · 17/10/2017 09:51

Forgot to say, I am currently 88 kg and really want to lose about 20kg.

mrspannie · 17/10/2017 19:02

Hi again

I won't lie to you - the shakes are the handiest as you can make them pretty much anywhere without too much planning.

Would a cold fruit drink work for you? I'm having the orange and pineapple drink at the moment and it's just like orange squash. But is that too shake like?

Or would something like hot chocolate or a cappuccino appeal? (I like both of those).

If you only like solids, it is more limited. For breakfast there's an oatmeal sachet. There quite a few savoury sachets which you need to cook in advance (omelettes, pancakes, pizza, chilli, pasta, potato, chicken, etc). I tend to only have these in the evenings because they require a kitchen, but you could bulk cook in advance (they freeze well) though some of them are restricted to once a day.

There are also bars and crisps available but these are restricted to 3 per week (as they are slightly higher in calories).

Perhaps ask your clinic to send you the full list foods available or maybe ask if you could try some samples before you begin?

mrspannie · 17/10/2017 19:14

I had my first weigh-in and treatments this evening and am totally delighted to report a 2.4kg loss. I know lots of people lose more in their first week - but I am only aiming to lose 12kg this time, so it's a great start to my Alevere reprise.

I picked up lots of different sachets to try from the swap box this time... up until now it's been somewhat repetitive:
Breakfast - Vanilla with a spoon of coffee to make a latte
Mid morning - orange and pineapple drink
Lunch - oriental soup with a large salad
Mid afternoon - hot chocolate "squishes" (done in the oven, a bit like brownies)
Evening - either pizza or chicken gougons with tons of veggies, followed by rhubarb & Splenda.

How are you all doing?

Onwards and downwards....

Tsilivi · 23/10/2017 12:55

Hello all. My first treatment tomorrow at silverlink. I have been told that i will need to wear a special suit. Anyone know how i wear this? Does it go on top of my clothes or do i take all my clothes off?

mrspannie · 24/10/2017 19:34

Hi Tsilivi, Hope your treatment at Silverlink went well. Sorry I didn't get the chance to reply earlier... you've probably already found out the ugly truth about the suit! Just you and the suit. I'm afraid it doesn't leave much to the imagination, but the lovely therapists have seen it all before and probably much worse besides. How did it go? How much do you have to lose? I go back for my second weigh in tomorrow...

Onwards and downwards...
Mrs Px

mrspannie · 24/10/2017 19:37

@Angie - how's your first week going? Take it as easy as you possibly can. You'll be over the worst by about day 4. Stay focused!

Tsilivi · 25/10/2017 12:19

Hi it went ok. I have been given first weeks sachets and have tried hot chocolate and peach and mango and both are very nice.

I have 4 stone to lose so will be on the programme a long time, hopefully it works. I am unsure on whether the ultrasound treatment actually works, whats your opinion on this?

Angielester1 · 25/10/2017 12:21

Hi @mrspannie,
I have had my first treatment but not on the diet yet although I do have the stuff. My blood results aren’t back yet so I’m still waiting!x

mrspannie · 26/10/2017 21:57

Good luck with your first few days. Stay strong: it's so worth it. (Did you get your blood results yet? If not then maybe you should call them in the morning?)

The first time I did it, I was on the programme for about 7 months (including phasing off), but I know one lovely lady who started a bit before me and finished around the same time. She lost well over 50kg in that time and had virtually no stretch marks. Totally amazing. Just stick with it.... and follow all the rules.

I do think the ultrasound works. Obviously I can't prove it myself, but I've looked at the science and had some medical friends look at it too and it really does seem to make sense. Same goes for the LPG. I think the two treatments are not only helpful in reducing the fat and tightening the skin, but also a great opportunity to pause from "life" and just focus on yourself and get a great massage too. I love chatting to the therapists during the treatments, getting tips on recipes, ideas for how to make the most of the programme... this time is really helpful psychologically... cementing in our new healthier habits.

I had my second weigh in yesterday. Another 1kg gone, so a total of 3.4kg in 2 weeks. Looking ahead to a wedding at the start of December. No idea what I'm going to wear as I could be a whole stone lighter by then :-)

Hope you're all doing well....

Onwards and downwards,
Mrs Px

Tsilivi · 28/10/2017 09:54

How is everyone gettibg their fiber?

Do the sachets contain fiber?

Am i ok taking fiber supplements?

I am getting it from my veg but not enough

Thanks
Tsilivi

mrspannie · 28/10/2017 14:50

Hi Tsilivi,

Personally I wouldn't take any additional supplements without having discussed it first with the doctor from Alevere. The programme is finely tuned so you are getting everything your body needs. It would be such a shame if you took something that inadvertently knocked you out of ketosis.

Perhaps ask your clinic - but I'm pretty sure they'll give you the same advice.

Good luck.

Mrs Px

Angielester1 · 31/10/2017 11:19

So, I have so far had 2 laser treatments, and one hoover treatment!
I wasnt on the diet and so I was just cutting back on what i normally ate, like bread and stuff to get me used to it. I have lost 3lbs in my first week and that was without the diet - I have finally started the diet as it is today - I am struggling with what to do with the sachets though!
I am back there on the 04/11 so I will let you all know how I have got on and if you can think of any recipes for me to try then shout out!!
I have a mix to try - the drinks are fine - going down well so far!! I have to go at the veg soup,. the chicken goujons, the pizza base and sauce, the oatmeal, pancake and cheese omelette!!!

Remembering what you can have and how many you can have a day is confusing!!!

Tsilivi · 01/11/2017 08:06

Had my first weigh in. 5kg lost, happy with that start.

mrspannie · 01/11/2017 10:29

Wowsers Tsilivi! 5kg is amazing! Fantastic! Well done you! You're totally rocking this programme!

I have my week 3 weigh in tonight. Fingers crossed. I doubt my total loss will be 5kg over the 3 weeks though! I'm thinking / hoping for a 1kg loss this week... and realistically I know I'm likely to get smaller and smaller drops as I get near target.
