Alevere / Alizonne

dm2ooo · 23/03/2015 11:46

For reasons unknown, the name of the Alizonne diet has changed to Alevere. I have only known it as Alevere and wanted to start a new thread so people can find it under the new name.

I am nearing the end of week 1 and have lost 8lbs so far. I don't count this much as I lose 7lbs in the first week of any diet. I'll see how I go over the next few weeks.

It's a lot of work to follow but I'm getting used to it. Would be happy to swap tips with anyone - particularly on recipes.

Also very happy as I won £500 today which covers a lot of the 1st month costs!!! :)

Is anyone still following this thread? I am on week two and struggling!!! I thought I would buy a few different sachets this week to mix it up.....I picked up spag bol because it looks nice on the wall in the clinic.....I can't finish it! Anyone got any great ideas as to how I can use them up?????

All advice very welcome. Lost 7lbs in week one which was great but think week two could be a killer.......

Lollipop8 · 19/06/2017 22:21

Hi alison2378
Yes I'm doing this diet right now...
Thankfully found someone on it....

I've not tried the spag Bol sachet...
week one will always give best results.
Stick in there u can do it.

I've had to stop the diet for a few weeks due to some reason but I'll be back on the 28th.

alison2378 · 19/06/2017 22:43

Hi Lollipop8,
How far in are you? What's your favourite daily combo? Am trying hot choc tomorrow for the first time.... hate going to bed hungry 😬😬😬

Lollipop8 · 19/06/2017 23:09

I was in week 3 and had to stop as im fasting just now and metabolic rate was
going too slow and not getting the result required for the money going in, so I will be restarting on 28th.

So it will be like week 1 for me again!!

In week 1 I lost 5lbs and then disappointing week 2 and week 3 due to fasting.

At the moment I can only manage to take the drinks sachets... I don't like the taste of the savoury at all.
Can't keep it in.

Hot choc tastes just like the real thing.

If it's ok can we keep this going because I will be restarting on 28th and was also looking for support and only came
across yourself today??

Bagpuss2017 · 24/06/2017 16:16

Hello

I've been on the Alevere diet since 29 Apr so I've just finished Week 8. My starting weight was 120kg (18st 9lbs) and I'm down to 106.4kg, so have lost 13.6kg (2st) so far. I'm aiming to get to 88kg (13st 8lbs).

I've had weight problems all my life - I went on my first diet (under doctor supervision) when I was 8 - I'm now 44. I've tried every diet going over the years, even hypnotherapy, and suffered from disordered eating and binge eating disorder too. A couple of years ago after unsuccessfully asking my GP for help, I found a counsellor who helped me through my BED, and finally felt ready to lose some weight but doing it myself wasn't working and I'm not into groups.

Alevere is expensive - I know I am lucky that I can afford it - but so far it has been brilliant. I've stuck to it absolutely 100%, even when I was in Croatia for a week, and it is working. The speed of weight loss is definitely a major motivator for me, but also the weekly check-ins - the sense of accountability to someone really helps me, whilst also being private (i.e. not disclosing to a group).

The therapies (ironing and hoovering as I call them) are secondary for me, although I suspect they are helping too.

I'm not saying it's easy but it definitely hasn't been as hard as I expected, or as hard as other diets. I think the fact your food intake is so controlled makes it much easier to stick to.

I've found reading other people's stories - and tips - really helpful and motivating which is what prompted me to post here. To anyone just setting out or re-starting, I'd just say do it, you really can.

As with all diets, it's about finding what you like. I've been on a bit of a journey with the sachets but happy to share my experiences if that's useful. It can be hard to start with but it gets easier so stick with it!

Good luck everyone.

alison2378 · 24/06/2017 18:30

Gosh well done Bagpuss2017 that's amazing!!

Can I ask if you have any tips for using the sachets? Some of them have literally made me gag and am a little fed up of cheese omelette now 😬😬😬. Nearly two weeks in!!!!

Bagpuss2017 · 24/06/2017 19:19

Hi Alison2378

Thank you! Yes, I started with the cheese omelette ones and soon got sick of them. In fact, I struggled with all the savoury ones after a while - the protein taste started to make me feel sick.

The ones I like best are the cold drinks (orange and pineapple, peach and mango and strawberry milkshake). I had been having four of those a day (as they are the easiest ones for me to have at work, plus a salad at lunchtime) and a savoury one in the evening to feel like I had had a proper evening meal. Late afternoon/evenings are danger times for me in terms of binge eating so I knew I needed to be careful, and the trouble was because I didn't like the savoury ones, I had that sense of not having anything else nice to eat left in the day - very depressing!

I switched to having stir fried vegetables every night (cooked with curry powder so they have some flavour) - really quick and easy to cook, even after a late finish at work, and edible without that horrid protein taste. You can also roast or grill them but I tend to stir fry as it's quicker. Then I can have a nice dessert sachet afterwards - which satisfies my craving for something nice/rewarding. I have either the vanilla dessert with stewed rhubarb (I buy it frozen usually as it's hard to find fresh) or the chocolate brownie which is nice too.

The only exception is I sometimes have swede chips and chicken goujons one night at weekends. The chicken sachet is quite dry but there is a great recipe on page 25 or so of this thread which combines them with onions and loads of spices to make something like onion bhajees - so much nicer than having them plain. You need a bit of lettuce with them as they are still a bit dry.

I've felt so much better since I made this change as there are now no meals I don't look forward to. I'm sure I'll get sick of the vegetables eventually but at least you can vary them and they don't have that horrible flavour.

One thing I really struggled with is that they give you five boxes and expect you to have the same thing every day. I cried at my first appointment when I realised this and they made me up some selection boxes! I've been using the swap box since then so I can have a bit of variation but obviously it depends on what other people have put in there. This week I asked if I could buy an extra box which you can do (£20 though!) - I wish they had told me that before. It meant I could have four boxes of cold drinks but then one each of vanilla dessert and chocolate brownie so I can alternate them.

The bars are OK too - a bit proteiny but sometimes it's really nice to eat something solid! I avoid having them too often as they are higher in calories but have picked a couple out of the swap box as they are useful if I'm travelling.

I hope that helps. Basically, find the ones you like and stick to those - apparently some people have the same sachet all the time!

Don't give up though, as it does get easier. Everyone says Week 3 is really hard (partly because you don't lose much) but I got through it OK and it's definitely got easier since then.

Shout if there's anything else you want to know.

Lollipop8 · 26/06/2017 07:58

Hi Bagpuss2017 and Alison 2378

I'll be starting back on Wednesday. Will be like week 1 for me again!

Well done Bagpuss2017 that's incredible!

My routine is very hectic and I can't seem to keep the savoury sachets down hence I take the cold drinks accompanied by 1 boiled egg for breakfast and then at lunch and dinner salad/vegetables etc...

My first apnt is next week after I restart on Wednesday. Will post then.

I'm 18st and target weight is 75kg. This is the heaviest I have been all my life. Really motivated to lose it this time.

Bagpuss2017 · 28/06/2017 21:54

Another four pounds this week! Blimey, it really is working...

Was it your first day back on it today Lollipop8? Hope it's gone well. Hopefully you will zoom into ketosis and not feel too rough. I thought I'd feel dreadful the first few days and it was actually OK. At least this time you know your way round the sachets, what you like/don't like.

How are you getting on alison2378?

alison2378 · 29/06/2017 08:36

Well done Bagpuss!!

So, I had my second weigh in and was told I am not losing enough. 9lbs in two weeks and am following it to the letter with the exception of salad at lunch as I just cannot get that many bland greens in me and sometimes I forget my evening pill and drops!

Mind you last night I went to Adele and having planned a phase 2 meal at the Hilton we were stuck in traffic and I didn't eat a thing!!!!!!

Clothes are looser and, apart from my other half who I don't think would notice if I went blonde and covered myself with tattoos, have been getting compliments that I look slimmer and well.

My total weight loss on the plan is 2st and 4lbs so maybe my loss is just going to be smaller? I don't know....

Oh and my treatment last week left my lower stomache covered in bruises. Ouch!!!!!!

Lollipop8 · 29/06/2017 11:14

Hello well done Bagpuss.

restarted yesterday... actually feeling ok... surprisingly. Missing some real food though.

Because I'm not too good with the savoury sachets this is what a typical day is like for me:
Breakfast drink sachet with one boiled egg - white part only.
Mid morning - drink sachet with satsuma or allowance from 200g.
Lunch drink sachet with unlimited salad/ veg.
Evening snack drink sachet
Dinner drink sachet and salad.

I've like made an aubergine courgette or cauliflower curry in which I use oil allowance and herbs and spices. It's quite nice to mix through the salad for some taste.

Good luck ladies. We can do it. 👍

Michellemybelle · 02/07/2017 20:03

Hi ladies, I'm new to this program and still finding my way.... I started last Wednesday and was weighed Saturday and I,ve lost 7lbs but know it's always a strong first week and losing lots fluid. But great motivation. The smoked bacon omelette is nice as is beef and onion soup, the pasta ok, I use tomatoes, onion and oregano to make a base sauce then stir pasta through, makes it easier to eat. I've also tried chocolate & pear dessert which is nice for a mid afternoon snack, the veg chilli was awful as was banana smoothie, my favourite thing is orange & pineapple drink. I've joined mums net just for this thread, I'd love to hear about your journeys to a happy healthier you and any hints and tips. A long road ahead but I'm focussed on the end game, hopefully we can motivate each other through 😀

Bagpuss2017 · 02/07/2017 21:45

Hi Alison2378

9lbs in two weeks sounds pretty good? Not sure why they told you it's not going quick enough. All the therapists I've spoken to say you should expect to lose between 1-2 kgs per week, which is 2.2-4.4lbs, so it sounds like you are doing really well. Are you behind on your weight chart?

Great that people are noticing though! I've only had one comment from someone at work and I've lost 2.5st now. My partner is really supportive but never wants to say how good I look slimmer in case it's makes me worry about what he thinks when I put on weight, but he does pay me lots of compliments.

Sorry to hear about the bruises. The hoovering machine often really hurts, especially on my calves and upper arms (the nice therapists turn it down!) but I've never had bruises. Hope they sort that out for you this week.

I'm really pleased with how it's going, and it has been easier than I expected but I'm not even halfway yet so it does feel like a long slog. Hope I can keep it up now I've got this far...

Good luck this week everyone.

alison2378 · 03/07/2017 06:44

Thanks Bagpuss2017.

Weigh in today and looks like I have only lost another .6 or so of a kg....will see what they say!!!

Lollipop8 can you send the curry recipe? I need veg meal (no sachet) inspiration!!!

Welcome Michellemybelle to our little group and good luck for week 2.

X

alison2378 · 03/07/2017 06:48

Oh and not sure how your sachet mixes were coming out but JUST started using tiny hand whisk (the ones you get with Hot chocolate gift sets!!) and it is making such a difference. Not a single chewy but in sight!!!

Lollipop8 · 03/07/2017 10:24

Hello everyone, so good to hear how everyone is getting on... really good for motivation.

Welcome to the thread Michellemybelle.

Week 1 coming to an end for me. Weigh day tomorrow...

The curry recipe: I use half an onion and 1 tomato and allowance from the oil, I put in salt chilli powder, turmeric and any other herbs/ spices u Iike. I sautée the onions and tomoto so that it becomes a paste and then i add in the vegetables like aubergine courgettes mushrooms or cauliflower carrot. Whatever u like from the veg section and let it cook.
Once cooked just take off the heat.

You don't need to add all the vegetable - pick and choose.

It's nice to add through the salad for some taste.

When I make this I sometimes use the oil allowance for 3 days as I know I won't be having oil again and i eat the curry over 2 to 3days...small quantity and keep it in fridge.

Will post tomorrow with week one results.

alison2378 · 04/07/2017 20:41

Thanks Lollipop8.

How did you get on yesterday? Am three weeks in and 5kg down. It's slower than I thought and am still hungry nearly all of the time....

REALLY want a glass of wine too. Have just broken up with my other half and need to now find a new home for myself and my little girl as we will sell our house. Making my resolve harder.........:(

Michellemybelle · 04/07/2017 23:52

Thanks for welcoming me to the group, nice to be part of it. I must admit it's hard getting creative so good to get the tips here. My favourite herb is tarragon so added to cheese omelette which was nice hope you had a great result Lollipop, my first week tomorrow but not sure I've lost anything more since I was weighed last Saturday.
. So sorry to hear your having a tough time Alison and know how relationship traumas always have me reaching for the wine, but that glass of wine won't taste as nice as how happy and healthier you will feel when you reach your goal.... And this isn't a cheap program to undo your hard work,, try and stay strong though always easier said than done x

Lollipop8 · 05/07/2017 09:32

Sorry I have been late to post... extremely busy yesterday...

I lost just over 7lbs....
I know week 1 gives really good results mostly due to fluid.

Let's see how week 2 goes. I have a long way to go. I'm currently 18st. I need to lose around 7 to 8 stones.

Just taking it week by week... feeling hungry though.

alison2378... I can understand how you are feeling... believe me you can do this and don't tempt yourself with the wine... you will feel guilty afterwards.

Determination is the key.

Also the cost of this diet is expensive so think if it as a motivator. The quicker u get to results the easier it will get.

the results tend to get slower as your body becomes used to the the diet but you are still losing... 5kg in 3 weeks is also good considering you have been on the diet for a few weeks now.

Hello LittleReid

Welcome to the group!

I'm also really glad for having found this group. It's good to talk to someone currently under same situ.

I'm on week 3 now... weigh day Tuesday.
I've lost 6kg ... still long way to go...
started at 18st.

Some days I find really difficult. Hopefully will get better.

Lollipop8 · 14/07/2017 20:18

Thanks for the recipes LittleReid.
Great suggestions.

Will try out

BexxG · 15/07/2017 11:46

Hi everyone, here I am again :-(

I'm ashamed to say that this is my second time on the programme. I lost 7 stone a couple of years ago, but after several traumatic events in my life this last few months, i have piled weight back on through comfort eating :-(

I tried Slimming World which just did not work for me (all the free carbs) so I bit the bullet and contacted the clinic.

Weirdly enough, once I got the detox period out of the way, I'm finding it much easier this time round. I think I have quite a "all or nothing" type personality, so the fact that I know I can only have the sachets, makes it easier for me to block everything else out. Not saying its easy though. I've been craving a bowl of rice crispies today!

Thankfully I only put half of what I lost back on so not starting anywhere near where I was. But its still a slog isnt it.

I see a lot of you are struggling with the savoury dishes as I do. The first time I did it I started off well with the savoury but after a while they all started tasting the same. I used to like the oriental soup, the bacon omlette (much nicer than the cheese), and the chicken goujons that always ended up more like a pattie, with veg or salad. I did the last three months just on the hot chocolate, which was a life saver, but this time round even the thought of it turns my stomach. I remember it being so nice though.

I used to fry the bacon omlette with mushrooms and peppers and onions, it used to look like scrambled eggs. Delish. Cooking the chicken goujons mix with garlic powder mixed in, used to make it more tasty for me. And being inventive with stir fried veg and different spices in the evening with a drink is lovely. What else did I do ......... oh making a salad dressing with your spoonful of fat free plain yoghurt, spices and a bit of olive oil from allowance was nice.

This time round I tried the spaghetti bolognaise (vile) and the vegetable chilli (ok). I cooked the chilli and put it with some cauliflower rice which was also ok lol

My life saver this time round is the Vanilla desert. I mix it with about 200mls of water, and add it to some coffee!! Vanilla latte! Thank you!

Strawberry milkshake is lovely. Even better semi frozen with strawberries from your allowance mixed in.

Today I am trying the chocolate desert for the first time.

My clinic (Carlisle) are very good. I was really struggling on my first week and was panicking I was going to run out of things I liked with not liking the bolognaise, so they sent me two other boxes of the vanilla and strawberry. I just took the unused sachets back this week.

Make use of the swap box if you are just starting out, its a better way of trying things out.

This is the only weight loss programme that has ever worked for me, stick with it ladies, its well worth it xx
