Alevere / Alizonne

dm2ooo · 23/03/2015 11:46

For reasons unknown, the name of the Alizonne diet has changed to Alevere. I have only known it as Alevere and wanted to start a new thread so people can find it under the new name.

I am nearing the end of week 1 and have lost 8lbs so far. I don't count this much as I lose 7lbs in the first week of any diet. I'll see how I go over the next few weeks.

It's a lot of work to follow but I'm getting used to it. Would be happy to swap tips with anyone - particularly on recipes.

Also very happy as I won £500 today which covers a lot of the 1st month costs!!! :)

Hello everyone

How are you all doing? I've had a couple of slow weeks and only lost 2lbs a week for two weeks now. My period is well overdue so think it might be connected to that but really hoping for a bumper loss this week as I had been consistently losing at 4lbs a week. I asked my therapist if there was anything else I could do to speed things along and she just said drink more water, so this week I've been on a mission to get from 2 to 3 litres per day. Feel a bit like I'm swimming! I have found the trick is to try and drink a litre before I leave the house in the morning (I often wake up quite thirsty anyway) and the fit the other two into the day to avoid having to drink too much in the evening and then being up all night. I don't like really cold water so keep a jug on the side with cucumber slices in, as I find it much easier to drink/drink quickly if it's not feeezing cold.

I started at nearly 19st and am heading towards 16st now so for anyone starting at around that level, all I can say it that you will lose it and it feels brilliant. I haven't bought a new wardrobe yet as I am hoping to lose even more but already I feel more confident, energetic and have stopped worrying about my health quite as much.

I got a bit bored with stir fired vegetables every night so have been cooking up a big vegetable curry and having that over two or three nights. I'm using most of my limited veg allowance on onion and carrott as that makes the curry much nicer, with the rest on my lunchtime salad (tomatoes and red pepper, and loads of baby mushrooms as that gives it a bit of substance). It's lovely to come home from work and have veg curry in the fridge to reheat and not have to chop up loads of vegetables.

I'm hoping get to Stage 2 in four or five weeks time, especially if my weight loss speeds up again.

It was my birthday on Friday so a bit sad not being able to have cake, alcohol or go out for a lovely meal. My partner bought me beautiful flowers instead and we've booked a long weekend in a self catering cottage in a couple of weeks - in the past we would have gone to a hotel and eaten out every night so this seemed a good alternative. I'll be taking my vegetable curry with me!

I'm in London for two days this week, at work meetings daytime and evening. I find travelling on this diet quite hard as buying nice food/drink for the journey and whilst I was away was always part of my travelling habits. Also, it's sometimes difficult to stick to the timings if I'm in meetings or have to have lunch with people as I don't like having the sachets in public in case people ask questions. What do other people say if people ask why you aren't eating the lunch provided or ask what you are drinking?

Anyway, good luck this week everyone.

Michellemybelle · 16/07/2017 22:58

Hi ladies, great see the group growing and all the lovely recipes, thank you for sharing. I'm finding my rhythm now with foods I like, omelettes I add onion and tarragon. Chocolate & pear dessert, is nice. My favourites still orange & pineapple drink and beef & onion soup. I'd lost just under 13lbs at my 2 week weigh in last Wednesday, telling myself not to be disheartened if it's only a small loss this week. Still very focussed, I go on a cruise in 10weeks so have a goal to aim for. Have a great week everyone 😀

Good morning! I am new to mumsnet after searching for alevere forum (which seems to be disabled on their own site) and have been reading a lot of your posts which are a great inspiration and it is comforting to know there are others out there going through this transition on the alevere like myself. I just started 10 days ago, first weigh in was a loss of 8 pounds which I was really encouraged by, I know I won't achieve such great losses down the line a bit but for now this will keep me going! I have got a goal of 6 stone to lose, my aim is for Christmas to be where I want to be....we shall see!! So far, not hungry, which is weird because I am always hungry or at least I thought I was!! I enjoy most of the sachets, sometimes struggle with timing at work to get them all in, but I am working on it! I am looking forward to meeting some new alevere friends on here for support and encouragement, I know it's going to be tough at times, I just hope I can remain positive and don't let myself down. Been yo yo dieting for years, losing then putting it all back on and more. Last chance saloon for me! Can't afford not to do this properly! Happy Sunday everyone! I am unfortunately off to work now, the joys of retail! Hopefully chat to some of you soon :)

Bagpuss2017 · 23/07/2017 08:51

Hello everyone and welcome to the new members too.

After a couple of slow weeks, I lost 2.5kg this week so I was so happy! I had been consistently losing 2kg a week and the thought of my loss slowing down was a bit depressing but hopefully I am back on track now.

I've been drinking 3 litres or more a day and definitely think that's helping. I looked up water on VLCDs and (if you believe what you read on the internet!) it does seem it helps your body metabolise the fat so I'd definitely recommend drinking more than 2 litres a day if you can.

I'm about 4kg away from Stage 2 so hoping only another 2-3 weeks.

Bagpuss2017 · 23/07/2017 08:59

Pressed post too early there...

My two days in London were a bit tricky but I did manage not to stray and to fit all my sachets in. I was sat in a theatre on Wed eve and just before the lights went down I realised I needed to have one. I'd got a beaker with the water already measured in so tipped up the sachet and it sent everywhere - on my shoe, in my bag (which still smells of strawberry milkshake), on the floor...I feel like I'm leaving a trail of suspicious looking white powder behind me!

To everyone setting out or in the early weeks - good luck and keep positive. It's the easiest diet I've ever been on, you definitely won't feel hungry and once you find what you like in terms of sachets, it's really OK. Don't put up with sachets you don't like, either swap them or if the worst comes to the worst, buy an extra box - this helps if you want some variety too.

One other thing that happened this week - I was really worried about lots of loose skin around my neck so my therapist used a small head on the 'hoovering' machine to do my neck. I didn't even know it existed! If you have the same problem, or think you might have, then do ask for this.

I'm 11 weeks in and feeling fairly determined to get to the end now. Hope you all are too! Happy to answer any questions from people just starting out if that helps.

Have a good week.

alison2378 · 23/07/2017 09:10

So, apols I have been away for a couple of weeks. Had one week with no weight loss and then last week I lost 3kg.
Am six weeks in tomorrow and have lost 8kg so am pleased. Am off to EuroDisney next Weds so am moving to Stage 3 for five days and then back to Stage 1 for one or two more weeks before heading to Stage 2 officially as they think the injection of protein will kick start me again and I am itching to exercise and tone this body up!!

Went to the gym last night and did 20mins cross trainer at intervals, rowing machine for 5 mins and some mat work. Felt good and I was so much more confident.

Have 7kgs left to go....

airevalley · 30/07/2017 17:47

Hi All,

I am into day 2 of my Allevere diet, and I am finding it tough, the sachets really don't agree with me, have had terrible headaches all day today, worse than yesterday, I had some broccoli , and runner beans for lunch, also made up the Spaghetti Bolognese from the sachet (which looked awful and tasted even worse), I tried the cheese omelette for breakfast, which made me sick.

I think I need take all my sachets back to the swap box. I like the idea of the vegetable curry, so will try that for dinner, and might just be able to eat the Beef and Onion Soup.

Trying to lose about 2.5 Stones, So I don't want to give up. But this is not going to be an easy fix.

Hey there, don't give up or feel disheartened it's just about finding the things you like and sticking with them. I add onions and herbs to the cheese omelette so that provides better flavour. The bacon omelette is also nice.Have you tried the pancake ? I have it in a morning with boiled egg whites or later on with strawberries. The orange & pineapple drink is lovely as is the beef & onion soup. I've recently tried the chocolate brownie which is lovely as quite dense and filling, again with strawberries or raspberries. I.m into week 5 and lost 1.5stones have about 2stone to go. It will get easier 😀 Good luck with rest of your week

airevalley · 31/07/2017 22:33

Day 3 now - those sachets don't agree with me at all. so I have stuck to the two eggs in the morning with a black coffee today, no sachet as I just can't stomach them. I had a black coffee and a low carb bar for lunch, and evening was a large vegetable curry made of my 1 tablespoon of oil and 100g onions and 100g tomatoes, the rest of it was runner beans , broccoli, green peppers and spinach, again no sachet. My next session is a week away, so don't want to fall of the wagon, but desperately need to get some sachets that I can actually eat.

I find myself wanting a snack on an evening, but not really sure if I am allowed anything, as I have used up my allowances on my curry!

Hi everyone, I've not been much active on the group.

I've had to come of the diet again!!

I have just recently lost my mother and couldn't keep up with the sachets and timings etc... it's been a very hard couple of weeks...

Every time I'm determined to start something happens.

Well I'm now ready start I have a consultation on 15th. So will be like week 1 again.

Will regularly update then. It's great to have this thread so much support.
I was just reading some of the posts and I can't take the savoury sachets at all. They don't work with me... so I'm not sure if this will help but I just stick to the drink sachets orange and pineapple is my favourite and I just fill myself up with limited/unlimited salad vegetables and sometimes make a curry.

I also had a tummy upset and was advised the same to come of the mineral tonic.

So keep going it's well worth it.

Pls pray for me that I can stick to it this time.
Will post nearer the time.

Hi, I have finished week 1, and sort of stuck to the diet, I have only managed to consume 4 sachets of the savoury stuff all week, as it truely is terrible. So I have had boiled egg whites for breakfast, a black coffee, and half a herbal life bar (justification is it has nearly all the same bits and calorie count as the yukky sachets) , lunch has been either some veg or a soup, and evening has been a large veg curry or veg broth. I have fallen off the wagon a couple of times - and my sins include a late night bowl of fruit & fibre (it was heavenly), and last night I gave into temptation and had some spinach/lamb curry .

I know sounds terrible, I have a consultation tomorrow- so will swap my sachets over, as they don't work for me.

Despite my poor discipline, I am down in weight by about 7lbs, I know it should have been more, but those sachets , and that awful mineral stuff make me sick.

Hoping to get back on track when I get the sachets sorted.

Lotus7817 · 12/08/2017 14:21

Counting days as I closer to the start date ... Any tips or advice to get to a good start ?

Lotus7817 · 12/08/2017 14:31

What will be the best shaker to buy for drinking sachets ?

Lollipop8 · 13/08/2017 14:24

Hi Lotus7817

Same here counting days... start on 15th too!

They normally give a shaker but I prefer it better by using a whisk... some of the sachets tastes much better then.

Good luck.

Lotus7817 · 14/08/2017 21:42

Thanks Lollipop8. Good luck to you too
Just before the start ,

  • I made up a diary .I took all my measurements and weight just for my satisfaction.
  • Wrote all my questions after reading this thread .

Does anyone know if there is any forum to follow . I thought someone mentioned about it somewhere

dinoscales · 15/08/2017 14:29

Hi all,
So this is embarrassing for me, I did the diet way back when it was Alizonne, and I had been doing great keeping the weight off for 3 years. But since moving house and other stressful factors I have put on 6.5kg in the past couple of months and I am feeling very despondent and angry at myself. This is the only diet that has ever worked for me, but I am upset with myself for wanting to go back on it. Does anyone have any advice for me?
Thank you

Lotus7817 · 16/08/2017 23:03

My first appointment was smooth. Since I read through the threads I was kind of well versed and kind of expecting some of the details to be told .
I am required to loose 23 kg .. that is a hell lot 😒 But really looking forward to a 20 week program .
Not depressed at all at this moment and trying to eat everything I can on my last few days of binge eating😂 and planning for a new me.

Bagpuss2017 · 19/08/2017 18:10

Hello everyone

Sorry I haven't posted for a while. I had a slow week and then I had a week when I put 0.3kg on! I really hadn't prepared for that and was quite angry (my poor therapist) only because I couldn't understand why. I had followed the diet to the letter and done everything exactly the same as all the weeks before so it was a real shock to go up. I think it was made worse by the fact I had expected to go on to Stage 2 that week so I'll be honest and say it was a real slap in the face.

I'm far enough through that I didn't seriously think about stopping - and obviously my therapist reassured me that it would only be a blip but not knowing what caused it was frustrating.

Anyway, I was flying to the US the next day. Because it was a mid afternoon flight, arriving there early evening because of the time difference, I only had two sachets left in my (UK time) day to last me 11 hours. Goodness, that was hard! I had preordered a low fat meal but when it arrived it was all things I couldn't eat. The airline staff got me a salad from First Class in the end, which was lovely of them but it had honey and mustard dressing on. I felt like I had to eat it because they'd gone to so much trouble but spent my whole week away worrying about having eaten the dressing!

I didn't feel like I'd lost anything whilst I was away, so prepared myself for being the same but amazingly I had lost 2.5kg so shot into Stage 2! I was so happy!

So, there's a really lesson there about knowing that even if you have a slow/bad week it will balance out.

I've been eating chicken stir frys all week and have a steak in the fridge for tonight. It's starting to feel like the end is in sight now although I still have 7.8kgs to go. But I've lost 24.2kg so far which honestly feels amazing!

I hope everyone else is doing OK. I know it's a hard slog but it really does work.

Lotus7817 - I bought some of these when I started www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B015WXI9AC/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1503161905&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=sistema+water+bottle+480&dpPl=1&dpID=41YS5aW8m2L&ref=plSrch&tag=mumsnetforum-21 They are a really good size and you can unscrew the big lid to tip the sachet in but drink from the small. I take three to work every day with the right amount of water in so I can discreetly tip the sachets in by my desk and not have to make a big song and dance about it. I also bought a pack of five metal blenders www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00HEB1V1A/ref=yo_ii_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1&tag=mumsnetforum-21 as they do help the sachets mix better.

Dinoscales - there is nothing to be embarrassed about putting weight on. I lost 5st a few years ago (with help from a hypnotherapist) and then slowly put it all and more back on, and after a year of counselling, realised it was all stress related. It happens. The great thing for you is that you have done it before - so you know how it works and you know you can do it. Wanting to go back on it is a good thing, not something you should be angry with yourself about. I think losing weight is 90% mental and 10% what you eat, so if your head is telling you now is the right time to lose it again, go for it.

Airevalley - how are you getting on? Have you managed to find some sachets you like yet? Most people find the hot chocolate one is particularly good, and I like the strawberry milkshake and orange and pineapple too. I hated all the savoury ones! I was worried about having only liquid ones but honestly it works fine and I'm never hungry.

Drinking water makes a massive difference to your loss each week (there is scientific evidence to back this up!) so I have upped my intake to at least 3 litres every day - I really recommend this and you do get used to it.

Well done everyone on your amazing losses - let's all keep it up!

PS I found it so helpful reading about other people's experiences when I was starting out - please do ask any questions if it helps you.

Ree51 · 22/08/2017 15:10

Hi everyone

I'm new here but have read all the posts from way back so I don't feel as 'new' as I actually am, if that makes sense? I'm into my third week of Alevere and finding it pretty easy so far (except the first couple of days). So far I've lost 11lbs in 2 weeks so hopefully on my clinic visit on Friday it'll go over a stone. I have been told that week 3 can be a bit rubbish for a lot of people though so I'll have to wait and see.

Good luck this week everyone x

Lotus7817 · 02/09/2017 21:58

Week 1:
I am into my second week but would like to write my experience on the first week . Let me start on a positive note , I am 4.5 Kgs lesser than the start date . I have 25 kgs to loose so a long way to go .

Remaining to loose - 21.5 kgs

Tips for this week-

  • The start was very painful on the first three days . There were days When I felt how could I do this for 16 weeks and was very teary eyed many of the days . Trust me it just got better by day 5. Just need to get into a routine and things will become a lot easier.
  • Just took a couple of days off from work to settle in the routine . This helps but not a must
  • I thought I am big fan of Savoury items . But trust me you have to try a lot of sachets to know what suits you best. I am totally on cold and hot drinks and a big no on Soups and Savoury items . In week 1, I took 7 boxes but I would recommend to take 5 boxes and the last 2 as swap boxes with many items to try .
  • Most of my sachets I have it as Ice cold shakes with some coffee mixed up . Like Vanillla , Cappuchino , hot chocolate with coffee mixed tastes good . You can have this even if you are not on diet.
  • I look forward to my breakfast everyday as I have Cappuchino late with boiled egg whites.
  • I also have tried Orange and all varieties of orange, strawberry, coconut and all are good to be used in Lunch/ Dinner

DON'Ts: Never write bad about any sachets by comparing with awful tastes/ smells because it might be one person might not like the taste but others might like it but if it is on forums it might discourage others to try it out .

This is my experience on week 1 . Hope you all are doing well .

Tricia68 · 04/09/2017 12:17

Hi ladies... I am going into my 4th week & really struggling as only lost 1.75lbs last week... Total loss has been 10.5lbs in 3 weeks & I have 70lbs to go to reach target....

I haven't really done any exercise & wondering if this will help?? Any suggestions??
