Alevere / Alizonne

dm2ooo · 23/03/2015 11:46

For reasons unknown, the name of the Alizonne diet has changed to Alevere. I have only known it as Alevere and wanted to start a new thread so people can find it under the new name.

I am nearing the end of week 1 and have lost 8lbs so far. I don't count this much as I lose 7lbs in the first week of any diet. I'll see how I go over the next few weeks.

It's a lot of work to follow but I'm getting used to it. Would be happy to swap tips with anyone - particularly on recipes.

Also very happy as I won £500 today which covers a lot of the 1st month costs!!! :)

Hi everyone,

I'm thinking of starting Alvere but I want to know if it is worth it?
I really struggle with diets as I have a bad relationship with food. The most I have ever lost is 9lbs but I have always put it back on and more!!
Is it a real striggle this diet?

Thanks in advance!

WiseToTheLies · 26/05/2016 20:17

In what respect do you struggle? When you say you have a bad relationship with food what do you mean?

If you have psychological issues with food or an eating disorder, this wont help. If you have a large appetite or are always hungry, have a low metabolism or dont know what normal portions look like then it may help.

Speechwise · 27/05/2016 16:44

Wow this diet is working. 20 pounds down in one month but man bank holiday weekend in the sun without a cold alcoholic beverage is tough 😳

AFOS11 · 27/05/2016 17:05

Speech wise - I completely agree!!!!! I'm about to go into the maintenance phase (hopefully tomorrow) but I don't think that includes alcohol... Bleurgh... Just thrown away all my bug clothes and only have 10s and 12s left so can't afford to make any slip ups or I will look awful ha ha. My BMR is very low too and I doubt will have got better... Hey ho...

Well done on 20lbs!! How much more do you need to lose?

Speechwise · 27/05/2016 17:58

Hello I have 40 pounds left 😨 15 weeks left to reach target so it's an alcohol free summer 😖

Speechwise · 27/05/2016 17:59

Well done on maintenance 👍🎉

AFOS11 · 28/05/2016 08:22

If you keep losing at the same rate it might not be 15 weeks! I kept expecting to slow down but didn't. Amazing to have lost a third already!!

AFOS11 · 28/05/2016 18:03

Lost 3 more lbs and onto stabilisation!

Speechwise · 28/05/2016 23:26

Afos11 that is fantastic! Have you exercised at all during the therapy?

AFOS11 · 29/05/2016 20:37

Yes three times a week - 2 X cardio and 1 X weights - I was doing it before but I still think it contributed to my faster weight loss and not losing muscle.

How did you do this week Speechwise?

Speechwise · 30/05/2016 07:56

Hi another 3 pounds 👍. I'm getting a lot of conflicting advice from the therapists about exercise. A few of them have told me to stop exercising - I do 2 one hour dance classes per week and I ski once a week for 3 hours. I love my exercise and I don't want to give it up. Do u have any thoughts?

AFOS11 · 30/05/2016 11:28

Well it's not affecting your weight loss I would keep going. As long as you are having an extra sachet on those days it seems ok to me. I was told that if you exercises before you should keep going, and everyone should aim for 20 minutes exercise 3x a week where you get a bit out of breath.

My therapist and doctor both thought my enhanced loss was due to exercise and I agree. I also didn't want to lose the opportunity to build more muscle with all the protein we are having.

If you feel good and not affecting loss then I would go for it. Have hou had your follow up blood tests? Those are a good indicator that all is ok too

Aliblob · 30/05/2016 17:22

Hi everyone, I'm 3 weeks in and have lost 12.5 lb so far. It's getting easier and I'm feeling more energetic and ready to restart exercising. I'm worried about trying to fit another sachet in though as I struggle to fit in 5 as it is. Could I ask has anyone had ultrasound on their legs? I've had 3 so far on my jelly belly so far and I'm starting to feel they are flogging a dead horse (I've had three surgeries on my stomach and it tends to enter a room before me and I fear is beyond repair). I think my legs are more salvageable and just wondered if anyone had tried this area?

Lou1990 · 31/05/2016 12:52

Hi all,

The diet didn't work for me and I now have lots of sachets to sell if anyone is interested? Some of them have passed the BB date but they already had when I bought them from the clinic and they told me this was fine!

Pizza Margherita and Sauce x 7 (BBE 01/2016)
Oriental Chicken Curry Soup x 6 (BBE 06/2016)
Chicken Goujons x 5 (BBE 06/2016)
Beef and Onion Soup x 6 (BBE 05/2016)
Vegetable Soup x 4 (BBE 11/2016)
Vanilla Dessert x 4 (BBE 07/2016)
Caramel Drink x 4 (BBE 11/2016)
Pancakes (BBE 07/2016) with Choc Spread (BBE 08/2016) x 3
Chocolate Dessert x 3 (BBE 03/2016)
Orange and Pineapple Drink x 2 (BBE 11/2016)

£45 for the lot plus p & p at cost
£10 for a selection of 7 plus p & p at cost
£1.50 for an individual sachet plus p & p at cost

Thank you :)

Carrielyn · 31/05/2016 15:17

Hi lou1990

Yes I'd be interested in lot, tho better to pick them up than pay lots of postage. Are u anywhere near Leeds?

Lou1990 · 31/05/2016 15:53

Hi Carrielyn,

Sorry I am not near Leeds, I am near Windsor. I have looked at the cost of posting and (if I take them out of their boxes) the cost would be Royal Mail £2.80 not tracked and £3.90 signed for.

Let me know what you think!

Lou :)

Carrielyn · 31/05/2016 18:00

Hi lou1990
Lol i bet I seem gormless! I thought as the main alvere clinic was in Leeds you must be too , and thought postage would cost about £25. That's fine then. How do we set it up? Do u have a PayPal account?

Lou1990 · 02/06/2016 12:01

Haha not gormless at all! If you email me on [email protected] we can sort out payment and postage x

Carrielyn · 02/06/2016 19:03

Lovely will do as soon as home from work.

Jayne0304 · 03/06/2016 12:08

This thread seems to have gone a bit quiet but I would just like to say thanks for everyone's posts, they have been so interesting. I go on holiday today but have an appt with the doctor at the Leeds clinic when I get back. I am still not 100% sure so any reassurances would be great!

AFOS11 · 03/06/2016 16:00

If you can stick to something rigidly it will work. It doesn't allow for cheating or deviating - that's why it works for me, I have no control if not on a rigid plan.

How much do you have to lose?

Jayne0304 · 03/06/2016 17:36

Hi AFOS
I am similar in that I need something rigid. I lost a lot f weight about 10 years ago with a conventional diet going from a size 26 to a 16/18 and have kept it off, but I can't seem to budge anymore, although I am an expert at maintaining! I want to lose about 6 stone. I do exercise a lot and feel encouraged that you say exercise has boosted your losses. I think if my losses are slow it will put me right off.

AFOS11 · 03/06/2016 22:39

If you can stick to it you will be fine. I lost quickly and easily, like everything it works for people differently. Mentally I committed to a month by which point I had lost 1.5 stone so decided to continue.

Give it a set amount of time and just plan accordingly I would say.

Enjoy your holiday

AFOS11 · 04/06/2016 14:10

Managed to lose 0.5kg on stabilisation. Ate quite a bit on Tuesday so went for three runs and obviously counteracted it plus the alcohol I had last night... I can do this (repeat over and over) ha ha

Jayne0304 · 05/06/2016 09:10

Sounds like you have the right mindset AFOS! How does it work for you now? Are you still monitored by the clinic?
