Alevere / Alizonne

For reasons unknown, the name of the Alizonne diet has changed to Alevere. I have only known it as Alevere and wanted to start a new thread so people can find it under the new name.

I am nearing the end of week 1 and have lost 8lbs so far. I don't count this much as I lose 7lbs in the first week of any diet. I'll see how I go over the next few weeks.

It's a lot of work to follow but I'm getting used to it. Would be happy to swap tips with anyone - particularly on recipes.

Also very happy as I won £500 today which covers a lot of the 1st month costs!!! :)

I have to go back next week for final bloods then two weeks later for my final BMR test. No more treatments and basically going it alone for the next three weeks. Will then decide if I want a monthly check up and chat - will have to see how I get on...I have so little will power unless I'm on a structure though and although I'm about to go for a run, that's because I had four milk chocolate from a box yesterday - why can't I just have one??! Lol

Jayne0304 · 05/06/2016 11:37

I would be the same. I would need some form of 'accountability' I think. It's why I sometimes go back to SW but to be honest the classes do my head in! Haha! Having 4 chocs in itself isn't so bad, one thing I have learnt is that it's the beating yourself up afterwards and saying 'blown it' and then going on to demolish the entire contents of asda that does the damage. Even naturally slim people eat 4 chocolates from time to time! After I lost 7 stone I naturally yo yo'd for a bit and then my weight just stabilised. But it was a bit of a pain because I still want to lose. You will get there, just don't beat yourself up, none of us can be perfect do the time. X

AFOS11 · 05/06/2016 16:17

So true! I'm just scared my inability to control myself will bring bad results. But going to start by weighing myself daily, then weekly, then monthly when I feel it's more under control...

You will be fine, as you said you need a kick start now things have slowed and as you will see from the thread the diet works for most people, not all but most!

I'm going on holiday in a couple of weeks and the clinic said they'd put me on maintenance as I wasn't keen on taking sachets to the beach! Afos11 do they allow you alcohol on maintenance? Pleeeeease say yes!

AFOS11 · 05/06/2016 18:40

Ha ha ha - I sooooo get it!!!

Yes once you are in the final week and introduce carbs - you can drink on those nights (alternate nights)

Just stick to salads / veg and protein the rest of the time and have some carbs with your evening meal so you can have a drink... And drink loads of water at the same time! :-) xx

Aliblob · 05/06/2016 21:03

OMG you've made my holiday. Thank you sooooo much (feel like cracking open a bottle to celebrate). That excitement doesn't bode well for my future does it! did they explain why you have to eat carbs as well, it seems like double the damage to me?

AFOS11 · 05/06/2016 21:27

It's something about how your body processes alcohol and needing whatever is in carbs to support it. They made it very clear both together... I had two glasses of champagne Friday and was pretty drunk...which is about a third of what I would usually have!! So definitely reduced my tolerance too... I had a gin and slimline tonic tonight (x2) and it was better probably due to all the liquid alongside! ;-) enjoy your holiday!!!!!

Aliblob · 06/06/2016 13:53

Thank you, I will try my best, I can't wait. I'll get as much info as I can before I go. A bit worried I won't be able to stop at one or two, and glasses may turn into bottles though. Self control....

AFOS11 · 10/06/2016 16:52

How is everyone getting on this week? I'm still doing a hybrid of stabilisation - managed to lose another kg this week amazingly - probably need to up the calories slightly (can't believe I actually just said that) but leaves a little room for nights like tonight when I'm out!

Hope you are all having a good week?

Aliblob · 11/06/2016 18:02

You've done so well and are still doing fab. What's your secret? I've been exercising, swimming, cardio and weights and have gained 1lb. I've decided I'd rather be heavier than flabby if the weights are the reason for the gain, but on the flip side I feel like I'll be on this diet for ever. I only had 3lb to lose to stage 2 and feel like I'm going backwards! H-E-L-P!

AFOS11 · 11/06/2016 20:54

I wish I knew!!! Having not managed to lose anything for two years this diet obviously suits me. How about writing down everything you eat / timings etc for a week and seeing if that sheds any light? I ate tons and tons of salad, only sometimes had my limited veg (don't really like fruit) - mostly had the hot chocolate cold and the oatmeal made into crumble for the rhubarb... But seriously I don't know.

Now I'm calorie counting and running for the first time in my life which I think is helping keep my slow metabolism going.

Have you asked them to re do your stats to see how your body fat is reducing and muscle increasing?

Oh - also I drink 3 litres a day including herbal tea like licorice and fennel...

Aliblob · 11/06/2016 22:33

Good advice, thanks, I'll try writing everything I eat down, but that list won't take up too much space!! I know I've struggled to get my sachets in and can only think that I'm probably not eating enough if I'm exercising too. My metabolism was 1100 when I started which is disgraceful, but I thought if I gained muscle it might actually help. I've got an apt with the doc next week so I'll see if they can check it out for me (more money...groan...). One thing for sure my purse is a lot lighter now! Well done anyway, keep up the good work, you should be proud of yourself.

AFOS11 · 12/06/2016 21:50

Thank you and wish I knew what the difference was. I'm such an advocate of this diet I don't understand when it doesn't work. I always have 5-6 sachets a day depending on exercise and time it so I'm having a sachet straight after exercise unless it's a late night session. I hope they find the answer - far far too much money for it not to work! Xx

WooLoo · 16/06/2016 10:44

Hi, just wanted to join in the discussion. I went for my initial consultation this week and, providing bloods come back ok, I'll be starting on Monday. Just thought it'd be good to join a group for support!! I've been interested to read all your experiences.

Aliblob · 16/06/2016 22:20

Hiya wooloo and welcome, the first step is always the hardest. There doesn't appear to be a lot of us left on this thread but I wish you good luck and success on your journey. It's not easy but the results are fast and that will keep you motivated during tough times. I'm in phase two now and am finding that harder than just having the sachets. God knows how I'll cope on the next phase. Still I'm 3lb away from a 2 stone loss in 6 weeks so am feeling chuffed with myself. Fingers crossed for you.

AFOS11 · 17/06/2016 07:35

Good luck!!

The Alevere forum (ask your clinic for details) is reasonably active so also worth registering for that.

This site helped me so much, even just reading through old posts to check I'm "normal"!!

Jayne0304 · 17/06/2016 11:58

I'm going for my Doctors appt and bloods tomorrow. I have been researching this for so long now I just want to start!!

Speechwise · 18/06/2016 17:14

Hello all 81kg bang on today 😀👍 going for the big push this week as I want to be 79kg before I go away for one week. That will be bang on 2 stone lost very exciting times. I have increased my exercise to 5-6 times per week and I feel amazing. 😀

Aliblob · 18/06/2016 17:54

That's fantastic speechwise, you go girl! You are the same as me, I've got 3lb to lose to reach a 2 stone loss and go away next Saturday but I've just hit phase 2 and am concerned that the scales haven't moved for 4 days so feel a bit frustrated with myself. I've been to the gym 3 times this week but have been doing weights as I feel a bit "squidgy", so wonder if that's slowed the loss down.

Speechwise · 19/06/2016 00:50

I wonder if it is the weights aliblob? My exercise is predominantly cardio, dancing, skiing and running. Might want to check with your therapist. Well done though! Great feeling isn't it. 😀👍

AFOS11 · 24/06/2016 21:46

How are you all getting on? First appointment after two weeks going it alone on maintenance...also my final appointment where I find out what my metabolic rate is... Wish me luck!

Maintenance hasn't been easy I would say. Carbs definitely don't suit me, when I had them twice in a row I put on 2lbs!! Lost it now but still - can't eat "normally" that's for sure!

AFOS11 · 26/06/2016 21:52

Only 1310 calories...when you are constantly told to eat 2000 average no wonder!! And I thought I was good if I only had 1800!

WooLoo · 29/06/2016 08:21

Hi everyone. First week was tough at times, but I got through it and had a lovely 9lb loss at the end of it (only actually did the plan for six days of that too, so in chuffed to bits). I'm aware the loss will slow down, but for the meantime - yay!

Quick question. When it's stated you must eat within 30 minutes of getting up, does that mean from opening my eyes, or actually getting out of bed? (Sometimes I have a wee snuggle with the kids before actually getting up!). Would ask my consultant, but not seeing her until Monday :)

Jayne0304 · 29/06/2016 09:39

Aliblob - I have always weight trained and asked my doctor if it was Ok to continue - she said as I had always been doing it -yes because I was maintaining muscle already built rather than building it, so if you have just started it may affect the scales, if you have always done it, you should be ok.

wooloo - that's fab! My first weigh in will be after 12 days and I am nearly there - such a long wait though!, we can do this together though - that's a great first week loss!! I wondered the same thing, but I have been doing it on getting up as my dog has been waking me at 5am most days - 2 hours before I actually get up! I work on the basis its when you start moving about. I will check with therapist on Saturday though

WooLoo · 29/06/2016 10:23

Thanks Jayne0304. That's essentially what I was thinking. As my body is getting used to all the water I'm drinking, I'm up most of the night either going to the loo myself or taking the dog out for a wee! I look forward to hearing how you've done on Saturday. What a wait - I'd be chomping at the bit to find out how I'd done!
