Alevere / Alizonne

dm2ooo · 23/03/2015 11:46

For reasons unknown, the name of the Alizonne diet has changed to Alevere. I have only known it as Alevere and wanted to start a new thread so people can find it under the new name.

I am nearing the end of week 1 and have lost 8lbs so far. I don't count this much as I lose 7lbs in the first week of any diet. I'll see how I go over the next few weeks.

It's a lot of work to follow but I'm getting used to it. Would be happy to swap tips with anyone - particularly on recipes.

Also very happy as I won £500 today which covers a lot of the 1st month costs!!! :)

Wolfie, WELL DONE!

I love your honesty as I think we will all feel the same when we finally come off.

It is a fantastic achievement and you should be extremely proud of yourself. X

wolfie100 · 07/12/2015 00:00

Well I am Very relieved to report that I have actually had a good first whole day post-Alevere.

After my chocolate fest yesterday I felt so bad I hardly slept but this morning I was so pleased to have planned my food for the day and so far I love the app I have to keep a food diary on - called my fitness pal. I spent a couple of hours setting it up with all my regular foods and so today I just picked each thing off the list as I had it.

It's really interesting though as it makes you realise just how many calories, natural fat and natural sugars are in everything. The app made me do exercise too as when you even go for a walk or anything you can add it in and have a few extra calories.

I feel a lot better than I did yesterday and to cheer myself up I went to the shops and bought myself a new jumper and it is size 8. Can't believe I own anything that is size 8. I keep thinking I had better still be able to fit into the jumper next winter!

Hope you all had a less up and down weekend than me and the weight is still dropping off nicely.
Xxx

BexxG · 07/12/2015 23:17

Hi y'all, so good to get back on and read all your inspirational updates.

Wolfie you are amazing! If I can get to the end of this progeamme and be a size 10 all my dreams will have come true. Tbh I would settle for a 14 at the moment lol

Things have been crazy here. I live in the Lake District which has been devastated by floods again. So close to Christmas too. Personally, we are unaffected, but a lot if my friends have been.

Still, as of last week I am 4 stone lighter than I was when I started, I still cant quite believe it. Still a fair way to go but I am feeling positive.

I have made a concerted effort to drink my water, and have more veg this week. I just stir fry it with different spices. Appointment on wednesday so i will see if it makes a difference.

Anna - I dissolve my potassium in water and add the quinton to it. Give it a stir, tastes like lemonade :-)

Anna50 · 08/12/2015 21:00

Hi Bexx - firstly, so sorry about whats yapping in the Lakes, cumbria and Carlisle areas, I feel so sorry for those people affected by the floods. Thanks for the tip about quinton, I'll try that. Struggling with water. It's hard in the winter. But it's nothing to complain about, I haven't got water flooding my house. I consider the calcium tablets to be sweets- 1 a day! Good luck everyone. X

SpaceCucumber · 09/12/2015 19:36

Anna - I hope you're OK still? I can't believe what's happening in your area, it's crazy. :( Congratulations on the 4 stone lighter bit though, how wonderful that must feel!

Wolfie - Congratulations!!! You've done amazingly and are an inspiration! How're you finding life off Alevere now?

Cupcake - I know it's disheartening but a loss, is a loss, is a loss! Keep going lovely, you'll get there.

Sarahrose - how's things going with you this week?

Alpha - Congratulations on starting phase 2! I can imagine it's scary but lovely to have proper dinners again?

Slim - Congratulations on another 1kg down! Here's hoping you hit your goal for Christmas!

Pipan - how're you doing?

Dubai - How'd your weigh in go?

Bexx - I hope you're feeling less disheartened now? Have you had any more weigh ins since?

If I've forgotten anyone, I'm so sorry! It's not personal, I'm just foggy-brained. Smile

As for me, I'm doing OK. I've switched to have 4 strawberry shakes a day and some fruit, and a cheese omelette with loads of veg in the evening. I'm still struggling with the routine of the supplements but I'm getting better with each day. It's my first trip back to clinic tomorrow for weighing since I started. I'm nervous to see what I weigh in at (my at home scales say I've lost 3.7kg) but I'm also excited to have my two treatments. It's like a little treat for me!

SpaceCucumber · 09/12/2015 19:40

Opps sorry. My brain really isn't working! I said Anna instead of Bexx at the top of my last post. Blush

So sorry Anna, I don't know why I thought it was you. I hope you're OK though anyway!

Cupcake0310 · 13/12/2015 17:25

Hi All! Hope everyone is doing good on the run up to Xmas!

How's the weight losses gone this week? I've lost another 4lbs! Really noticing it with my clothes, especially my trousers!

Anyone tried the raspberry muffins? How long are you cooking them for? I've done them for a min and they taste like rubber! Any suggestions? Smile

SpaceCucumber · 13/12/2015 19:56

I had a terrible weekend. Ended up breaking my diet last night and now feel like I'm starting from scratch. I had mulled wine, a minced pie, some cheese and a handful of nuts as I was at a party. Hmm

Back to clinic tomorrow for 2 week bloods. Dreading having to fess up if I'm honest.

Does anyone know if I have to fast for the 2 week bloods?

wolfie100 · 14/12/2015 00:12

Cupcake - well done you- 4lbs in a week!

Spacecucumber no you don't have to fast for bloods. I too confess to bingeing on mince pies. It's a really difficult time of year with temptation everywhere and feeling tired in the run up to Christmas.

One of the things that helped me when I was starting out was that I told everyone what I was doing and so I then had to keep going to prove I could do it and not embarrass myself by failing. You have to find the right way for you.

It's gone quite quiet out there - are people struggling?

So far I have managed to just about keep the weight off in my first 10 days off the diet. I am a pound and a half heavier than I was when i finished so I am pretty pleased with that. The best thing has been an app called my fitness pal which you can keep a food diary on. It's helped massively and is free. Also have just got the linked app called pacer which tracks how many steps you walk each day and so how many calories you burn off when you are walking around. Today was 4320 steps which was 2.6kms and 109 calories -hmm- could do better apparently my target is 10,000 steps a day but it's good to start keeping track. Anyway it seems to be helping me so might be worth a try?

Hope everyone has a good week and stays focussed.
Xxx

BexxG · 14/12/2015 08:59

Hi All, thanks for thinking of us up here. Its remarkable the amount of community spirit, and businesses are getting back on their feet as best they can, its just all the families who are displaced for Christmas thats very sad.

I'm doing ok on the plan. Still losing but not as much as I hoped. I felt really positive going for weigh in last week so i was gutted when she said I'd only lost a kilo.

Still as SC said, a loss is still a loss. It must be coming off somewhere as I am now in a size 18 jeans and 16/18 top. I still sometimes keep checking the jeans label lol as i cant quite believe it. I dont think i have been in an 18 jeans since before I got married 15 years ago lol so its working, however slowly its working :-)

Hope you all had a good week. Check in everyone, its your stories that keep me going :-) xxxx

Slimslimslim47 · 16/12/2015 22:29

Hi everyone the post are amazing and just as I was feeling low it picked me back up. Last week was a 2 kilo loss , 9 kilos to stage 2 and hoping that will be when I go back to the clinic at the beginning of January. I am being bery strict with myself and avoiding everything, all the Christmas food is in the house but as I look at things I go ohh look a £250 mince pie as that is how much a week of no weight loss would cost me and honestly nothing is worth eating that much - lol. We all make our little tricks to keeps us on track 😀
I am now down to a size 16 trousers and 18 top which feels amazing and people are beginning to comment in work and say how much younger I look as well. Not being as active as I would like but hope to do more over the holidays and build up a routine.
Had the cheese soufflé this week and really liked it and nicer than the omelettes My next weigh in is Christmas Eve and if I have a 2 kilo loss that will be over 2 1/2 stone and another number on the scales I will not have seen for a longtime.

Good luck everyone and have a great Christmas whatever you decide to do, we are all here for each other and not to judge which is lovely and supportive so thank you my wonderful "downsizing crew" as sung by Dory in Finding Nemo - 'just keep slimming, just keep slimming' 🎅🏽

SpaceCucumber · 17/12/2015 14:12

Hi girls. I'm really stressing out over Christmas. I've got three family events that I am cooking for. One on Wednesday where I'm making my favourite (Beef Wellington) for 12 people, on Christmas Day I'm cooking three of my favourite dishes for 10 people and on Boxing Day I'm cooking a feast for 18. With wine, my favourite foods and lots of people around I'm really worrying about staying on plan. I don't know if I'll be able to resist temptation... Sad

How are you all planning to resist?

Quack32 · 17/12/2015 19:36

Hi all,

I've read this thread at every opportunity I've had in the last couple of days. I was an Alizonne member back in 2012 and lost just under 5 stone in 5-6 months. It was great! I was so full of energy and delighted with my new size. I got pregnant with our first child in the summer of 2013 and I was determined to keep my weight in check during and after the pregnancy. But unfortunately that didn't happen. After giving birth I weighed about 3.5 stone over my target weight. I thought it would fall off with breastfeeding etc and some of it did. After my son's first birthday, I stopped breastfeeding and put on another stone. So I'm now just one stone less than my heaviest weight and I'm so so ashamed of myself. I am embarrassed to meet people as I wonder what they must think of me for having let myself go like this. I have low energy and I basically feel really cr@p about myself.

I have decided that I can't carry on feeling like this and I should perhaps restart this programme. I was so happy when I was on it the last time! I'm worried though as I am a mum now and my life revolves around my 20 month old boy. I am cooking his meals and feeding, which is something I never had to do back in 2012, hence there was no temptation. I'm also worried how I will take time out to prep my food and achieve my goal again. I'm absolutely terrified of failing as I've already spent so much money on this before... I know I need to get a grip and just do it, as it'll do us all a world of good but I'm hesitating.

I have a restart consultation appointment booked next week.
Any advise, words of wisdom would be most welcome especially on how to get organised. I'm currently a stay at home but hoping to return to work in September.

Look forward to joining this journey with you all.
Thanks

alphachick007 · 18/12/2015 23:41

Hi all,
I lost 1.5 lbs the week before I started Stage 2 and was quite disappointed so I decided to increase the exercise and cut out the strawberries and tangerines. It worked I lost 2.5lbs this week. I am now 9 stone 12lbs. I am away for a mini-break 18-22 Dec. Worried that keeping on Alevere food programme may be problematic as family like to go for coffee and a cake.

SpaceCucumber, I understand your worry about Christmas, I have visitors over Christmas to the new year and I need to avoid pitfall of eating as I cook. I am trying chewing gum whilst I cook so my mouth is busy. Also I'm taking a leaf out of SlimSlimSlim's book and reminding myself that eating mince pies and fruitcake is £250 because it will either end in no weigt loss or worse weight gain. I don't want to be paying out for synthetic food, eating it and NOT loosing weight. LOL

Quack32 I'm so sorry that you are feeling so ashamed and unhappy. There is no shame in puttig on weight. The main problem is loss of self-esteem and health problems. You made a good decision to take the weight off so don't beat yourself up. Why not work out what causes you to eat? Then find a new strategy to overcome it.

Pipan127 · 21/12/2015 01:34

Oh how I've missed you all. You lovely peeps! Makes me feel comforted to read other folks' issues and ideas. We really are all in the same boat. I haven't been on here since 1 Dec for some reason unknown to myself however the update is coming. I am now on Stage 2 and the first two weigh ins were disappointing but the third one was 1.7 kg so I was reassured. Body adjusting apparently. I sometime go to the Carlisle clinic but cancelled due to driving through flooded areas having no appeal. This means that I haven't been weighed for two weeks. Have had a 'hungry' week last week which pissed me off big time but seem to be ok again. I would love to have a few drinks at New Year but they have that price tag don't they. Wish there was a way round it! You are all doing a marvellous job btw!!!
My hideous brother in law remarked that I was looking 'an awful lot better' and went on to tell me how he had had a long chat about how worrying my weight was with my ex-husband at our daughter's wedding in June! Unbelievable! This could be the best motivation to keep it off just to disappoint him completely. Sorry for the negative rant but....
Will report back after Tuesday. Xxx

Slimslimslim47 · 21/12/2015 15:33

I am so proud of everyone for still persevering over the Christmas season, I keep think of ways to keep me focused from how much it costs to the last eat one is to imagine everyday feeling better with more energy and looking healthier. As I have lost over 2 1/2 stone I am going to weigh out a stone in tinned food and put it in a bag next to my scales and every morning and night pick it up and then think I carried 2 1/2 of these around every minute of the day and I still have three more to go -imagine how light I will feel by next April!! Feeling quite low today - very busy and it is becoming more difficult each day with the amount of food and drink around. I think it is because I have finished work for three weeks and now finding things to keep me busy. A nice long walk with the dog in a minute Smile. My last weigh in before Christmas is 24th Dec and this is keeping me strong, my sister and daughter have agreed to help me by keeping me busy and topped up with fizzy water and mint tea.
I am looking forward to the cooking as I am a bit of feeder, poor family and friends have so much food to get through lol.
Pipan127 - what a cheek of your brother in law, as you say use it as motivation and turn his negative to your positive.
AC 007 - I had a poor weigh loss this week and it could be down to the clementines I have had so will cut them out this week and see how I go - thanks for the tip and well done on the weight loss at stage 2 Xmas Wink
Quack32 - you made a whole person and put on some weight, feel good about what you have achieved a beautiful little boy and then focus on getting you back to where you want to be, as a mum I understand and put everyone before me but take that time out for you and accept help from everyone you trust to help with your son to give you that space to do your meals- good luck and I wish you well.
SC - good luck with all the food cooking, I don't know what to suggest but I am getting dressed up with full make up and hair and posh frock to feel so wonderful and look amazing that I hope this will encourage me to stay on the plan. Oh and no tasting as I go along!!

I will be thinking of you all over Christmas - some of us will have some food, some will not but we are all fantastic because we are trying something so hard and don't beat yourself up. Good luck and see you on the other side Xmas Smile

SpaceCucumber · 21/12/2015 16:20

I'm going to stop over Christmas. Not because it's Christmas, just because I was in an accident yesterday and hurt myself and something has come up and financially I can't afford to buy any more food until the 29th. Sad

I guess I'll just have to try and be careful and hope I don't put on all the weight I lost. I'm not hopeful that'll happen though.

Good luck ladies.

Slimslimslim47 · 22/12/2015 14:40

SC - so sorry to hear of your accident and I hope you are ok and Christmas is ok for you. Take care

Anna50 · 22/12/2015 23:23

Hi everyone. A merry Christmas and good new year to you all. I have enjoyed reading all your posts and felt empathy for all the ups and downs. I started the programme on 13 Nov. with the seemingly impossible aim of losing 2 stone before Christmas - which was about 6 weeks away- and I have done it!! Very pleased. Having occasional snacks now and weight loss has come to a standstill. But that is ok. Just a warning to you all. Last week I had 2 days of very low water intake and now have kidney infection / inflammation. Which could have been caused by low fluid intake. Very bad pain and nausea and hot/cold. Please remember your water!! Back on full regime after Christmas. Xx

Cupcake0310 · 28/12/2015 12:24

How'd everyone get on over Xmas?

I stuck to the diet as my mum was in hospital but decided to treat myself with a holiday at the beginning of March. Might be on stage 2 by then. Has anyone gone on holiday whilst on the diet?

BexxG · 29/12/2015 20:09

Hi everyone, Merry Christmas to you all :-)

How did you all get on? Well done for sticking to it Cupcake, proud of you.

I've done ok. The one thing my family made me promise when I started back in August was that I would have Christmas off. I've treated myself but not gone overboard and have stayed away from dairy and alcohol. I allowed myself turkey, veg, a couple of roast taties and gravy on Christmas Day, and on Boxing Day (our main family celebration) i had turkey, salad, half a bread roll and a few sausage rolls. Oh and a diet coke! Lol!

I've been out for walks, drank plenty of water, had a really bad tummy the day after. I'm hoping the damage will be minimal but by heck I had a great time lol

How are you doing after your accident SC? Hope you are ok?

Quack32 · 29/12/2015 20:48

Merry Christmas all!
Thanks for you encouraging words alpha chick and SSS47.
Today was my first day restarting. The new ultrasound treatment is great, the LPG hurt a lot more than I remember.
Sachets wise - drinks taste a bit different to before, a bit thicker somehow but ok. Some sachets have changed so I couldn't find an old favourite which was potato pie.. Maybe it's called mash with herbs now, I'll pick it up next time. I've felt quite hungry today but it's to be expected after the Christmas over eating and me being slightly unprepared. I'm looking forward to my dinner of veg curry and chicken nuggets.
Waiting to get on the Alevere forums to get some good sachet ideas.
Hope this works and I can stick with it for the next 5-6 months.
Bye for now xx

Slimslimslim47 · 29/12/2015 20:52

Cupcake and BexxG

Nice to hear you both have made it through the Christmas period, I stuck to the diet and glad I did as I really wanted to be 12 stone something for Christmas Day but it was 13 stone 2lbs. However lots of running about and walking a and ringing loads of water seems to have worked as I was 12 stone 13lbs on the scales this morning - very happy.
It was much harder than I thought and at times I was a little bit down but family kept me cheery and with just 2 stone 13lbs to go to target I have lost more than I have left to loose and that is a nice feeling.

BexxG - you were amazing to limit yourself and as you said hoperculum not too much damage. But you didn't go mad and it should be minimal.

Cupcake - the holiday will be a wonderful incentive and I hope your mum is better.

So happy slim New Year to you all and see you in 2016 😀

Slimslimslim47 · 29/12/2015 20:55

Quack32 - was typing as you posted lol!! Good luck on your first day back and we'll done - so proud of you and wishing you every success.

Quack32 · 31/12/2015 17:18

Haha I can hear my tummy rumbling !! Day 3 today and it's going well. Need to up my veg or salad intake at lunch perhaps so I'm not starving within two hours of it.
Hope all well and wish you all a Happy New Year.
