Alevere / Alizonne

dm2ooo · 23/03/2015 11:46

For reasons unknown, the name of the Alizonne diet has changed to Alevere. I have only known it as Alevere and wanted to start a new thread so people can find it under the new name.

I am nearing the end of week 1 and have lost 8lbs so far. I don't count this much as I lose 7lbs in the first week of any diet. I'll see how I go over the next few weeks.

It's a lot of work to follow but I'm getting used to it. Would be happy to swap tips with anyone - particularly on recipes.

Also very happy as I won £500 today which covers a lot of the 1st month costs!!! :)

Hi folks! Great to read about everyone's progress, so inspiring! Great stuff!

Had my Dr appointment today; she said my going behind the schedule might be because of two odd phase-2 days during a city break a month ago (( she also told me to take only 1 tablet of sodium per day, because of face puffiness (i look like i've been crying overnight, seriously!) and of sodium blood levels... She helped me to figure out how to tackle Christmas (i'm allowed to drink two glasses of wine, whooo-hooo!), too, so i'm ready to face it! Lol! 4 pounds till phase 2, can't believe it, exciting and terrifying at the same time!

Sold some of my old 'fat' clothes on ebay; and some of my 'thin' clothes too, they are just too nig now! Feeling amazing! Also a colleague at work noticed i'd lost a bit of weight, which is always nice to hear )))

Alphachick, hmmmm, i'm a bit worried about the amount of sweetener there - 1/4 cup, that's about 40 grams minimum... Our daily allowance is 7.5 grams...

Bexx and SpaceCucumber, you're so right about water intake, I notice when i drink less than 2 L, the weight loss is much smaller!

How's everyone doing? Xx

hettaar · 20/11/2015 09:05

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to say thank you to all of you who have contributed to this thread so far. Your comments both good and bad helped me to make up my mind to go for Alevere.

I am on day 4 of this new lifestyle change (I refuse to call it a diet as that makes me want to eat everything I shouldn't!). My starting weight is 84kg and my target weight is 56kg which is a loss of 28kg. My doctor has given me a timeline of 20 weeks to achieve said loss but it seems so far away.

I realised that in the past whenever I have wanted to loose weight and told people their comments have been dismissive and frankly quite rude. So I have only told 3 people so far that I am on this journey and have decided to keep it to them only and obviously you guys Smile

Today has been tough already but I persevered as I woke up at stupid o'clock to get to the airport so had to have breakfast so early. Got to the airport and all around me was my favourite foods in nice restaurantsSad. I did go into 2 of them, sat down and then after 5 mins walked out. I decided to go to Boots and buy the melon, cucumber and tomato pack and snack on instead. GrinFeeling so proud of myself but this thread did help because as I was sat trying to decide whether or not one meal will matter I was on here reading your successes. So thank you so much.

Sorry for the long post but I had to tell someone how I felt. I will try to put up my losses each week. Please do keep on posting and they are an encouragement. X

Anna50 · 20/11/2015 09:31

Hi all- especially hettaar- welcome to the group, I am new as well. I had all the nerves you seem to have , but have lost a stone (on my scales) in a week!! Which is amazing. There are lots of times when we come across a temption, I think the thing is to try to choose the the one causing the least damage. I am away for a few days from today, and will try really hard. So good luck Hettaar, I keep reading the posts from these lovely people who over the last 8 months have shared the stories - it does give me hope! Good weekend everyone!! Xx

Anna50 · 20/11/2015 09:32

Sorry all, just retread post- it should be 10 days , not a week!! But still amazing. X

SpaceCucumber · 20/11/2015 11:05

Bexx and alpha I hope your appointments went well?

SarahRose, I bet it felt amazing to sell those clothes. I can't wait to get rid of mine and buy new. I'm so jealous you get wine over Christmas. Food I'm all good with, not much of an eater generally but wine is always my downfall. I was told I could have some turkey and lots of vegetables on Christmas Day though so that's something. Smile

hettaar, hello and well done on avoiding temptation... I don't think I'd have had the strength to walk out a restaurant once I'd gone in.

Anna, I can't believe you lost a stone in 10 days! How fab is that?!

slim How are you doing? You've been quiet for a few days...

And for those I've missed (I know I have, I'm sorry) - I hope you're all doing well, check in and let us know cos I love reading this thread.

I got my water filter yesterday and have been drinking water. I'm struggling to cut out my morning cup of tea though. I meant to not have it today but after half an hour of being up I caved and got myself a big mug. Hmm

On the plus side I took a sneaky weight measurement on my scales and lost weight in the few days since I learned that my calories allowance is so low and cut down. Gives me hope that this might actually work for me. Smile

Can I ask another annoying and probably stupid question of you girls already doing it. I know we have to consume something 5 times a day, how do you break this up? I have a really small appetite generally and struggle to eat anything more than a couple of slices of toast before dinner so this is going to be a real upheaval for me. I know we can have drinks and foods, but how do you, personally, split your 5 things a day up? I just don't know whether to go for like 3 drinks and 2 meals, or 3 meals and 2 drinks, or 4 drinks and 1 meal...

SarahRose88 · 20/11/2015 11:42

Welcome hettaar! I was 84 kilos when i started my lifestyle change in January (just like you, i hate the word 'dieting' as what i'm doing is all about long-term healthy living, not short-term "i wanna shred 2 pounds before a party" thing) and had to lose exactly same as you ) although i've been doing this change by myself firstly, not with alevere (wish i had started it straight in January it would be much quicker lol!) we will get there! And you're doing so well with temptations! I found them passing after some time, so it should get easier later on! Good luck! X

Anna, a stone in 10 days is amazing!!! Well done you!!!

SpaceCucumber, why are you cutting out tea? We're allowed to drink it as long as it's black/green/herbal with no milk, right?.. I'm drinking black tea with a slice of lemon in the morning, and some spearmint-chamomile during the day. Decaf coffee is an option sometimes and i love fresh mint infusion in the evening. Am I doing something wrong?!
Re drinks/meals, i, like some people here (sorry, i remember reading it, but don't remember who wrote it) have the sweet stuff only, didn'tquite like the savoury options. I add less water and bake all of my sachets (pear&chocolate, lemon, banana, vanilla desserts and even strawberry milkshake, coconut drink and hot chocolate!) on a silicon mat/mini-muffin mould, so they are like little profiteroles. It's really convenient for me as i can have them while i'm on the go or at work. And i think the texture is much better ) so in a way i have them all like meals, but they're quite small as there is less water. Hope this helps!

Have a great day! X

SpaceCucumber · 20/11/2015 11:51

Oh no, we're allowed tea as you said, so far as I'm aware. The problem is I like milk and sugar in my tea. Or at least milk and sweetener. I can't drink it black at all, it tastes awful in my mind. Blush

That does help actually. I can be a bit fussy with foods, so at least I know I can switch to all sweet things if I need too. Smile

Does the hot chocolate actually taste like normal hot chocolate? I might switch to that instead of tea if so.

Cupcake0310 · 20/11/2015 13:25

Lots of posting going on this week. Well done everyone in your weight losses!

Welcome Hettaar!

SpaceCucumber, I drink peppermint tea now as I'm not a huge fan of black tea. I also get the vanilla dessert and Carmel drink and add a heap of coffee to them both. I miss my coffees!!!

Hot Chocolate is just like normal hot chocolate. I have it as my last "meal" every night. I was struggling with the savoury foods so I basically just have 5 drinks now and manage to fit them in every 3 hours.

Re water consumption, why not add some chunky lemons into your water, along with some mint and stick it in the fridge over night. Tastes great the next day! We are also allow fizzy water so you could add lemons and it would be like lemonade (kinda).

Got my app tomorrow but don't think I'll have much of a loss but every 1lb helps! Smile

SarahRose88 · 20/11/2015 15:45

SpaceCucumber, oh, i see... Have you tried earl gray or something like that? I like empress gray from m&s, think it's quite nice without milk...

Hot choc is just like a normal one and it's also great cold )

alphachick007 · 20/11/2015 23:56

Hi all, well done on your massive achievements.

After last week's huge dissapointing 0 weight loss, I lost 3.5 lbs. I now have 13lbs left to my goal weight so I am doing a happy dance. I began strict healthy eating plan and 3-4 gymn classes 18 months ago and lost 1 & a half stone. Since I began Alevere I have lost more. I have gone froma size 18 to 16 before Alevere but since Alevere I'm now a size 14. I took some of my fat clothes to the charity shop which was lovely. I will be estatic when I give away my size 14 clothes. I think the treatment make a huge difference.

Also I received £60 worth of vouchers from John lewis which added to the £60 I have already saved gives me money to buy new clothes in the sale . woohoo! I have also switched bank accounts so that will get me an additional £100 for clothes.

The Truvia is 0 clories but I only have a half the meringue portions which is equivallent to 1 egg per day and 10 grams of sweetner. You have to make sure the stevia is 0 calories because some brands have calories.

Yes you are right about the water if you don't drink 2L your weight loss goes down. Another thing to watch is eating every 2-4 hours. Monday and Tuesday are really difficult days because I have 4.5 hours without a proper break so there isn't enough time to prepare food/drink and have it and our clinic doesn't allow bars until stage 3. Would value any suggestions. The problem is I don't like the soups cold and most of the sachets have to be consumeds within 10 minutes. Pity they don't sell bars on the black market LOL.

I dropped my gymn classes this week and noticed it made a difference because I wasn't as tired so I think I'll do only 3 classes max from now on.

This chat room is fantastic.

SarahRose88 · 21/11/2015 10:59

Alphachick, oh wow, great weight loss, well done!!! The treatments are brilliant, aren't they?! Re truvia, i've asked the therapist during my treatment today. So it's not about calories mainly, it's about carbs. Alevere is a kind of ketogenic diet, and to achieve ketosis, we need to consume a very small amount of carbs (that's why we've got restricted veggies - they're too rich in carbs). Alevere is already balanced in terms of carbs and that's why they've got these strict rules for sweetener etc, so we don't switch from ketosis. Will still try to work those meringues out with virtually no sugar... big sigh Question: is it strictly cream of tartar there(and no bicarb?..) or can i use baking powder?

2.5 lb lost this week! And a comment from a colleague at work that he didn't recognised me from my back and that i was an inspiration for him to take action on his health too! Feel fab!!!

Have a great weekend guys! Speak soon! X

Cupcake0310 · 21/11/2015 11:56

Well done alphachick & sarahrose!

I've just had my app and I've lost 3.3lbs this week. I've not been good with water consumption this week and I do notice a difference.

Great that people are beginning to notice sarahrose. It's a great boast to your confidence.

Hope everyone has a great week Smile

SpaceCucumber · 21/11/2015 12:16

alpha, sarahrose and cupcake - well done girls on fantastic weight losses. Grin

SpaceCucumber · 22/11/2015 13:22

How're you all doing girls?

My appointment for bloods and with the Dr is tomorrow. Feeling a bit ropey right now though - like I have a hangover without the alcohol consumption. I think it's because I've cut my tea down to once a day and am now only drinking water, except for one small glass of fizzy drink with dinner.

alphachick007 · 22/11/2015 21:19

Hi Sarahrose,
I haven't tried meringues with bicarb or baking powder. Not sure how that would work. I make a batch and just have a few each day. I find one batch lasts about 5-6 days.

Also SarahRose what heat do you put your cakes in please. How do you make them? I would love to try out. And where do you get your proffiterole silicone mats from please?

SpaceCucumber sorry you aren't well, I pray you feel better tomorrow but when my husband cut back on caffein he felt ropey and even got a bad headache for a few days.

CupCake well done on your weight loss.

Drinks
I tried the hot choc and ladies you are so right it was delicious. What is the strawberry milkshake like? Our swop box is usually empty and I don't wantto end up with more 'meals' I don't like.

I tried fizzy water with a slice of lemon juice and it makes a lovely change to hot water with a slice of lemon. Thanks for the suggestion I can't remember who suggested it.

Cupcake0310 · 22/11/2015 21:28

Thanks alphachick!

Strawberry milkshake is one my new favs! Honestly just tastes like a milkshake and smells amazing!

Defo worth a try!

Slimslimslim47 · 22/11/2015 22:12

Hi everyone, what amazing posts and so much support to each other on this forum it is great to read.
Been having trouble with my iPad crashing so not able to post this week but it seems to be OK tonight.
It was day 40 for me yesterday and 20lbs weight loss and so pleased.
Space cucumber - hope you feel better soon but it is usual as all the sugar and caffeine leaves your system.
I tend to have a vanilla shake for breakfast made with cold coffee so it's a big latte - but I have 350mls of coffee as it is too think for me other wise. Mid morning I have either caramel or coconut drink, and lunch at work is soup and vegetables, afternoon is another drink, and then an evening meal with a salad. The first three weeks I didn't really make many of the meals but now I have the chicken nuggets and mix Chinese 5 spice in the mix before I bake them, I like the omlettes but it is always more scrambled egg than omelette, I love the pizza and this week I baked it and then used 5ml of my olive oil allowance mixed with powdered garlic and brushed on when cooked and it was like garlic bread which I chopped up and added to a big salad with a mustard dressing it was like a ceasar salad. But the highlight of my weekend was the first time of trying pancakes and I loved them - that is my Christmas Day breakfast sorted!

At my session the therapist told me to try to exercise on that day as all my fat was ready and weighting to be used so the best time to do some, also drink loads of water the flush everything out.

Cupcake - what a great weight loss well done.
SR88 a well done on the weight loss, I asked about the truvia and my therapist was supportive of using it so I have swapped this week.
AlphaChick - under a stone to go, well done you that is amazing.
Anna50 - wow that is fantastic and you must feel over the moon,
Hettar - welcome and lovely to see you here.

I am sure I will have missed someone but it is not intentional, wishing you all a good week, plenty of water drinking - I find fizzy the best for me but always have a bottle of filter water in my bag.

wolfie100 · 23/11/2015 23:24

Hi all

I so love checking in and reading all the great posts. Everyone sounds like they are doing so well and thanks for all the nice comments to me. It all keeps me motivated.

Just had another go with meringues but I still haven't got there! However I didn't have any cream of tartar so am going to get some and keep trying. I am determined to get them to work as they are the perfect solution for my sweet tooth as I come off the diet. Thanks for all the recipe ideas- will keep trying!!!

Space cucumber/Sarahrose- I wasn't ever given the choice of not having both treatments so have always had both. However after about 3 months I stopped having the ultrasound on my tummy as I thought I never really had my tummy out anyway and could hide it with clothes. So I moved to my arms and that made a massive difference. I thoroughly recommend getting your arms ultra sounded but make sure they do the underneath part- that's the bit that worked best for me.

Slimslimslim - thanks for the info re the resistance band. Not sure why my clinic don't give them out but am going to ask for one for Christmas from my Hubbie - 15x3 sounds very easy to squeeze in while watching to etc. Well done on the clothes 'success' pile. I love that term! Have a trip to Primark - I had never been properly before as I was too big for their clothes but now I get all my underwear there as its so cheap! It's amazing how quickly those size 18/20 clothes will be moving onto the success pile and not long after will the size 16s. It's an amazing feeling and I am now a true shopaholic for bargain price clothes!

Bexx- you are doing fantastically well - can't believe maltesers tasting disgusting! Very good to hear as I miss chocolate so much! I must say I am a little concerned you might not be eating enough if you are not having the sachets and strawberries and a bit of salad every now and then. I was like that for a bit and my weight loss actually slowed down when I ate less. The other problem is when you come off you won't be in the habit of eating fruit and veg all day which is the big part of maintaining the weight loss. Honestly - do try and eat more veg. I cook a whole bag of sainsburys frozen roast veg every day (£1.50) and just munch my way through it- it's just courgette, peppers and aubergine but it's tastes really good hot or cold.

Hettaar- welcome! I was targeting 56kilos as well as my target weight but I moved it to 60kgs (9 and a half stone) as I was happy at that weight when I got there! It feels so bizarre setting a target at the beginning doesn't it? When they said to me what weight do you want to be and I was over 16 stone I didn't have a clue! It does seem a long time ahead when you first start but honestly just take each week at a time and it flies by. Well done you on dealing with the difficult situation at the airport. Each first time is hard but the next time will be easier and then it won't be an issue any more- honestly!

Alpha chick - I ignore the 'consume within 10 mins' guidance on the sachets I used to have - chocolate dessert, vanilla pudding and caramel pudding. I mixed them up the night before and stored each one in a small plastic tub with an air tight lid in the fridge. Then I took them with me in my handbag with a plastic spoon the next day for work. I never had any issues from eating them even 18 hours later than I had mixed them. Now I only have one sachet a day (always chocolate dessert!) - miss the others massively- but still mix this the night before- tomorrow's is in the fridge right now!

Was determined to keep this brief and go to sleep early but I just love reading all your stories and updates too much not to comment on them all!! It's such a big part of your life being on Alevere and as supportive as family and friends usually are they don't really 'get-it'! That's why this forum is so perfect!

Have a good week everyone!
Xxx

SpaceCucumber · 24/11/2015 10:55

Hi girls, I saw the Dr and had my bloods done yesterday. All seems to be good and she predicted 12-16 weeks to get to my goal weight. Am booked in for my first set of treatments and to pick up my boxes on Monday. Can't wait!

Oh and I lost 0.4kg just from switching my drinks to water only a few days ago. Which I thought was pretty funky and was quite pleased with that.

Now just got to pick which foods to go with...

SarahRose88 · 24/11/2015 13:28

Hi folks, guess what, plus 1.5 lbs today - no idea why, i've been soooo gooood!!! Oh well, trying to keep myself motivated and stay positive - and you guys help a lot in that!

Alphachick, Sorry for not replying earlier, got slammed at work plus moving houses now - a nightmare... So, firstly, i mix my sachets with less water than stated, i've got 50 ml for a sachet of hot choc, vanilla, banana, pear&chocolate desserts and coconut drink; 40 ml for lemon dessert, cappuccino and strawberry milkshake. I add some spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, ground cloves (very Christmas'y!) and vanilla from the grinder. Then using twi teaspoons i load them into a silicon mat (got it from a local shop, but it should be available from lakeland/amazon/etc), normally it's about 10 little spoonfuls. Strawberry, lemon and cappuccino for some reason spread over the mat as a large blob, so i bake them in a minimuffin silicon tin (got it from lakeland). I use 180-200 oC fan, around 15 mins (until risen and golden-brown). They stay fine for a week if kept in a closed bag in a fridge, so i make my week allowance on a Sunday and then just cook my vegs during the week, quite convenient! Oh, they sometimes tend to absorb moisture (especially cappuccino and hot choc). That's about it, i think...

Sss47, well done! Great weight loss! I love truvia, i think it's better than canderel (at least it's not that artificial...)

Wolfie, i tried making meringues with 1 egg white, 1.5 g of truvia, ground vanilla and a bit of cream of tartar+bicarb (otherwise it wouldn't work, right? They need to react together? Some good old GBBO stuff))), and they were still flat... Haven't used baking powder, as it turned there was wheat there. Will try with more truvia later on maybe... Also thanks for the tip re ultrasound treatment! I was thinking about doing arms, but thought would do the inner thighs after the tummy is done...

Got asked what i wanted for xmas - and i'm really thinking about a slendertone belt. Has anyone used it before? Any good?

Have a great day and keep posting everyone, so inspiring to read your stories! X

SarahRose88 · 24/11/2015 13:30

Oh (knew i forgot someone!), SpaceCucumber, well done!!! Just one week to go! X

Wanttogetslimmer · 24/11/2015 13:34

Dear All,

Well, I haven't posted for ages - just had a look and it was the 14th October.

Firstly, hello to all the new joiners - it sounds as though you are off to a flying start, and I promise those at the very beginning of the process that the time will go quickly and you will lose the weight quicker and more easily than with anything else.

Also, it was great to see my own level people still at it, and those who have started before me still doing so well on the latter stages.

When I last posted I had gone from 117kg to 90kg on my 3 month anniversary and had started onto phase 2 - i pretty much stuck religiously to the plan (although I didn't always get my 5th sachet in).

On the 5th October, I started a house extension and my kitchen was knocked down on the second day and wont be finished until after Christmas now, so I was reduced to a microwave and fridge in the living room. This and lots of social occasions (it seems every weekend since then) have put me off track. I have basically ended up having around 2 shakes a day, protein and salad every lunch and essentially half a cooked chicken every night, as I was unable to prepare veg. I have also had a drink of wine (sometimes a glass, sometimes a bottle) every weekend since 5th October!

So, after my confession - where am I now.........

....I now weigh 86kg (yippie, and am on phase 3!!!)

Obviously my weight loss has slowed, and I certainly don't recommend doing what I have for the last 7 weeks, but isn't a relieve my fellow dieters that we wont just put all the hard earned weight losses back on when we are off the diet (or have a bad period).

I have to say though, that I haven't felt the need to eat chocolate or cake or anything bad (apart from wine - and 2 pieces of toast and jam as an effect of the wine) - I have just eaten much more protein than I should have.

I am now on my last push, so resolved to follow the plan as closely as possible with the hope of getting done by Christmas (although there are a lot of social things to get through). I just wish I could eat all the veg I was before which I do really miss, and I think seeing a large plate of food in front of you in the evening is what kept the diet so easy before.

Anyway, I have loved reading all of your posts and hope to become part of them again (extension and electricity allowing!).

Good luck everyone. xxxxxx

PS - I am not an alcoholic, despite what this post sounds like! x

alphachick007 · 25/11/2015 18:07

Thanks SarahRose, I tried out your recipe using the banana shake I didnt like and it has worked out great. I will give the mushroom soup and the veg soup a go using your idea & see how they turn out because I can't stand them either and I have 8 packets to use up.

I don't know who came up with the curried veg recipe but thanks, it is deish. Feel as if I'm eating normally now rather than on a restricted diet, I have been telling myself that I am on a healthy eating plan but now I actually believe it. LOL.

alphachick007 · 26/11/2015 20:45

Hi all,
I found this post under Alizonne. This recipe makes lovely curry but you could use another seasoning such as cajun or 5 spices to vary the taste,

Spicy Vegetable Curry

Hi all

Thought I'd share this recipe that I've made using the basics of a recipe I used to make a lot whilst on another well known diet (the one which encourages you make meals from scratch with lots of spices).

This meal should be split and eaten across 3 days.

400g tin chopped tomatoes (allowance over 3 days)
200g chopped portobello mushrooms (allowance over 3 days)

aubergine
brocolli
green pepper
spring onion tops
green beans
celery

  • anything else you want to add

Add 1 tablespoon of garlic infused olive oil (or normal if you don't have it) to a large pot and saute the veg (don't add aubergine and mushrooms until last). Add a sprinkle of salt and pepper.

Add spices:
2 tablespoon garam masalla or medium curry powder (I used 1 of each)
1 tablespoon of hot chilli powder (optional)
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
1 tablespoon onion powder

Mix around veg for a wee bit and then add the chopped tomatoes and some boiling water. Blend a large handful of fresh spinach (or use a few frozen blocks) and add to mixture. Bring to the boil. Add more garlic, onion powder, salt etc to suit your taste.

Lovely jubbly (quite spicy hot though so adjust spices to taste).

Anna50 · 26/11/2015 21:09

Hi. Everyone some good losses here, well done! It is very motivating to hear from you all. Second weigh in for me and 15 pounds gone in 2 weeks !! So pleased. Now to carry on for the next stone. I am getting on ok with sachets. I always have the omelette made from eggs, although not always at breakfast. Good luck all. X
