Alevere / Alizonne

dm2ooo · 23/03/2015 11:46

For reasons unknown, the name of the Alizonne diet has changed to Alevere. I have only known it as Alevere and wanted to start a new thread so people can find it under the new name.

I am nearing the end of week 1 and have lost 8lbs so far. I don't count this much as I lose 7lbs in the first week of any diet. I'll see how I go over the next few weeks.

It's a lot of work to follow but I'm getting used to it. Would be happy to swap tips with anyone - particularly on recipes.

Also very happy as I won £500 today which covers a lot of the 1st month costs!!! :)

Well I appear to be back on track??. After the 'plateau' I lost 4.5 lbs the next week so it has evened out. Phew! Just think my body doesn't know what a week is but it's tough to get such a tiny weight loss especially at the till! So the update is week 14 and 3stone 5 lbs lost. My clinic doesn't allow balsamic vinegar unfortunately but I do like the look of the trifle idea. Electric shakers??? Off to google them right now! Be strong comrades xxx

BexxG · 27/09/2015 20:12

Well done Pipan! That is fantastic!

I've just had a mini meltdown in the kitchen ........ I really want bread :'(

Wanttogetslimmer · 27/09/2015 22:26

Don't do it BexxG - you know you will regret it! Do you have a pizza base around you could have instead?

Well done pipan127 great weight loss, and I agree anything less than 2/3 lb is not worth the money each week. I love the electric shaker, so much easier at work and the drinks taste better.

I have run out of drinks, and I don't go to the clinc until Tuesday, so have some planning to do to get through 2 days at work - and it wasn't funny today after 4 hours of walking with some steep hills to tuck into a cold chicken nuggets, I could hardly swallow them!

Best of luck this week all xxx

jenhen · 28/09/2015 18:37

Hi, I just started Alevere today but they forgot to give me my pack so I don't know what I am supposed to be having in phase 1 and when!!! They are shut today so I have trawling the internet to try and find a clue? Please can someone help. I have had three drinks so far but nothing else. I have also been swimming and I believe I should have an extra satchet. Thank you!!!

wolfie100 · 28/09/2015 23:03

Hi Jenhen, good on you for starting Alevere. I have been on it now for 8 months but I still remember how scary it is at the beginning.

You need to have 5 sachets each day at roughly 3 hour intervals. You can also have unlimited vegetables (mostly green) and a small amount of limited fruit and veg. For fruit I normally have melon and strawberries. Rhubarb is the only unlimited fruit so get stocked up! You also need to take your supplements - in the morning sodium, magnesium and potassium plus a quinton measure. In the evening another quinton, sodium and a calcium. Personally I wouldn't have another sachet if I had been swimming but see what they say. Also only drink water, black tea or coffee. Hope this helps.

Ps I know 8 months sounds far longer than anyone wants to be on this diet (or the expense) but for me it's been the best thing I have ever done. I am now 9 stone 13 and have lost 6 stone 5 pounds. I can't express how amazing it is to get here. Ride through the tough times you encounter - it's so worth it. Xx

Frostycake · 29/09/2015 15:12

Blimey! I'd forgotten about this thread!

Well, I'm back on track and have now lost a stone since August so I'm really pleased.

It is hard though and getting harder by the day. Weekends seem to be the worst for some reason. I'd usually use them to 'treat' myself to something nice and we all know where that gets us!

Does any body else get constipated on this diet? I'm suffering. I'll be having sprouts tonight with lots of water

Frostycake · 29/09/2015 15:18

Hi Bexx & Ohtrying - what are the bars like and how are you both doing?

I have the treatment on my stomach (upper) and it makes a huge difference. I tried it on my upper arms but didn't see as much change so swapped back.

Has anyone filled in the survey they're doing at the moment? I said that they should create a chocolate dessert that you can have every day not just alternate days (it's one of my favourites, if not THE favourite).

SarahRose88 · 30/09/2015 09:52

Hi guys! Finally decided to join the discussion, been reading it for ages! This thread is really inspirational! Thanks so much to everyone, you're amazing!
Just briefly about myself: i lost 2.5 stones before joining alevere (just healthy eating + lots of walking + yoga), but now need to lose 2.5 stones more to be on my healthy (lower-end!) bmi, and it's been tricky to lose more when you're close to your healthy weight! I was also concerned that I didn't eat enough protein, and alevere stuff is basically pure protein, so that's another plus! I'm on my 3rd week now and so far so good - lost 9.3 lb (don't know if i expected more, but my bmr is quite low - 1010 - so the weight loss might be slower than the majority's, I guess; and I've been on a diet before joining alevere, so no dramatic water loss on the first week for me...). They told me at the clinic that I'd need 12-13 weeks to achieve my goal weight (although i didn't get if they meant stage 1 or all stages in total; based on how i lose weight i think it's gonna be only stage 1... Damn!). The first couple of days were awful, but then you get used to the taste and to the routine, and now it's absolutely fine! I normally make some muffins out of hazelnut&cereal/vanilla/hot choc/pear&choc/apple oatmeal
(just add around 55 ml of water, no egg, and bake it in a mini muffin silicon mould for 10-15 mins), nuggets and mashed potato I bake, too... Really handy on the go or in the office! Tried the chocolate bar once - shame we are not allowed to eat them everyday, ha... Strawberry milkshake and caramel drinks are yummy (caramel can't be baked as muffins, btw... Trial and error!), and chicken curry soup is great for dinner with some vegs!
Has anyone tried the coconut drink, ntw? Quite tempted to give it a go...
Frostycake, i am freaking out because of bloating and constipation! I even thought about opting out because of that. I eat enough fiber and have never had any problems like that! I've tried dulcoease and some antibloating capsules (no sugar in them), but then they told me in the clinic to use movicol (as they "can't garantee the weight loss if you use non-recommended medication...") and omg it made the things much worse, i was as a freaking air balloon and had cramps and abdominal pain after just one sachet of movicol... The only thing that really (really!) helped was glycerol suppositoria. I haven't spoken about them to the doctor yet, but i lose weight alright (touch wood!) and at least the constipation is under control and i feel much less uncomfortable because of flatulence, so works for me...
Haven't seen their survey, but the pear&chocolate desert is rather chocolatey, and hot choc, too (if you add less water), and they are both nonrestricted!
Phew, that's quite an essay, sorry guys! Good luck with everyone's weight loss! Xx

SarahRose88 · 30/09/2015 10:36

Forgot to ask - does anyone notice some puffiness going on? My eyes got quite puffed - probably because we need to take sodium, and i haven't been using salt for ages... And another quite a graceful thing - i pee like mad, every bloody hour... But oh well, "everything's good as long as i'm getting thinner"! X

Frostycake · 30/09/2015 17:07

Welcome SarahRose88 yes to the constipation and God NO to the Movacol - had me in agony and I looked six months pregnant. I use Dulcolax instead. Much better. Rhubarb every night works too and of course loads of water. I'll try the hot chocolate drink too.

I'm like you, top end of healthy BMI and very low RMR/BMR like you so I'm struggling to get to a BMI of 22 too but I'm determined with the big 50 looming.
Good luck!

SarahRose88 · 01/10/2015 21:37

@Frostycake, thanks! Glad i'm not alone... We will get there, good luck to you too!
My clinic cancelled my appointment, and the next available is in 18 days after my last one... And they said we're supposed to have appointments between 4 and 12 days... ((( i wonder how this will affect the weight loss - slows it down, i guess? So annoying (

Pipan127 · 02/10/2015 20:29

Weigh in today. 13 days since the last one so 3kg ??. This takes me under 100 kg mark and 8 kgs away from stage 2. Rock on!

wolfie100 · 04/10/2015 10:59

Well done Pipan127 - that's fantastic. I only lost 0.8 of a kilo gram this week.

I totally agree that rhubarb every day really helps with constipation. It solved it for me but on the odd day I don't have any rhubarb it usually comes back.

I had the chocolate brownie sachet for the first time yesterday and it was not too bad. I prefer the chocolate dessert though.

I had a very good clinician yesterday and she reviewed how my body is looking now I have lost 6 and a quarter stone and am only 4 kilos from target. She said my legs were very good but the area where there is still loose skin are my arms and tummy. She said that with this amount of weight loss if I hadn't had skin tightening as I lost it then I probably would have needed surgery to remove the excess skin.

So I start stage 3 in a week- very nerve-wracking- but also exciting. Will let you know what it's like. Stage 2 has not felt much different apart from being able to have extra things- I go for an egg and 200g yoghurt every day. More satisfying that a bit of meat!
Xxx

2petcats · 04/10/2015 20:35

Hi everyone - I'm afraid I haven't posted since 30/8. Life overtook my best efforts to stick with this programme. My Mum died, and family came to stay and then we went away for a break. I stuck to the programme on days when I could but I've really lost 4 weeks. I returned from hols on Monday evening and went straight back into the regime on Tuesday. I was terrified that I would have put back on all or part of the 18lbs lost but I was relieved that despite the break, I had lost a further 8lbs so back to it with a vengeance. I still hate most of the sachets but am managing. Great to see so many doing so well.

Pipan127 · 05/10/2015 23:27

I only lost 0.5 one week Wolfie so I feel your pain. Had a better loss the week after though. 6 stone is amazing! My legs are finally becoming a bit slimmer but I have noticed that my arms and legs are looking a bit crepy. Must start moisturising! It's all swings and roundabouts. Still wonderful to lose so much so quickly. I haven't weighed 'so little' since 2002! Still have 3 stone to go though.

wolfie100 · 06/10/2015 00:12

Hi Sarahrose88 - yes I pee very regularly too - very frustrating especially during the night.

Can I ask a stupid question- what is RMR/BMR is it body mass ratio? How do you know what this is? The only figure I got given by the clinic was my metabolic rate which was 1340. Should I be asking for something else as well?

SarahRose88 · 06/10/2015 21:17

Hi Wolfie100, BMR is basal (basic) metabolic rate - so it's 1340 for you!

Wanttogetslimmer · 07/10/2015 09:08

Welcome to all the new joiners - it is funny, I still feel like a new joiner, but I will have been on the diet for 3 months come the 11th Oct.

I am now on phase 2 - yippie! I never thought I would be so excited to eat chicken, yogurt and eggs (and fish). I am still not allowed the bars until phase 3, really frustrating as some clinics are allowing you from phase 1.

My weight loss, as of last night is 3 stone 13lb - I think I will make 4 stone by the 3 month point.

2petcats - I am so sorry to hear about your Mum!

Well done to everyone else - the weight losses are great to hear about and inspirational!

Have a great week all. xxx

ohtryingsohard · 07/10/2015 16:47

Hello Alevere Friends

Sorry have been away and not posted anything recently.

@2petcats - i am sorry to read about your mum.

@Wanttogetslimmer - Well done. I am really hoping and trying to achieve the same for myself.

I have been away for a week on holiday, and tomorrow is my weigh in. I think i have added 2kg back on, i am back on my diet, it if i really count it was 4 meals where i was not on the Alevere diet. Obviously will share with you tomorrow.

I miss healthy food, not even bad food. I did do a happy dance and ate a small 5gm of dark 70% cocoa chocolate.

I eat my unlimited veg, and full unlimited veg and fruit allowance. Am i doing something wrong? I am not losing as much weight as everyone else?

Wanttogetslimmer · 08/10/2015 09:00

Hi ohtryingsohard,

I have always eaten tons of salad and veg every day, so don't think that is slowing you up - I have also eaten the fruit allowance.

It may be the small things like a bite of chocolate which may knock you out of ketosis - I am not sure how much it takes, but it will take you 3 days to start losing weight again.

I had to work very hard yesterday not to eat a whole chicken - I got a cooked chicken from costco (I have no kitchen at the moment due to an extension being built) to allow me to have my 8oz and it tasted so good I know I had over my allowance - I quickly put it into the garage to stop myself. In future I will stick to chicken breast with some seasoning.

Don't knock yourself - you are still doing great x

Slimslimslim47 · 08/10/2015 13:56

So very first appointment today... Will go back on Monday to get my pack and start Smile. The clinic was very good and professional and all the staff supportive and spent lots of time talking through everything with me and encouraged when I said I had read this post thread and seen positives aswell as negatives - so loosing 32 kilos is my goal! And for once I actually feel in control of this weight loss with the additional information given such as BMR and the guide to the weight loss each week, which of course can change and may need to be adjusted - by starting now I will be my new weight for my 48th Birthday and that is my event goal! Thanks to everyone who posts on here you have been an inspiration.

wolfie100 · 11/10/2015 09:37

Hi all

Was at a family do yesterday and lots of the family hadn't seen me since I started Alevere. They were completely taken aback by how I look now and very impressed. People couldn't stop talking about it. It is a real ego boost to see the reactions you get as you get to your target- only 5 lbs to go for me!!

I also had my bra size measured this week. I was previously a 40F and am now a 34E. I was really shocked and pleased when the woman told me this. It's a relief not to have lost too much cup-size as a result of the diet so thought I would share this with you.

Will let you know what stage 3 is like when I start next week- scary to go down to 3 sachets...

Welcome to the Alevere world slimslimslim47.

Xxx

Pipan127 · 13/10/2015 11:30

Ooh interesting Wolfie! I am quite a bit behind you so very excited by your post. Looking forward to the new bra size. Am guessing justnow. Also finding people are amazed by the' re me' already. Been on a visit to friends recently and have brought everything with me so don't feel I havedone much damage hopefully. Still have 3 stones to go which seems mad but I am determined to do it. Maintaining it inthe biggest plan so will emits grateful for posts on that in future. Exciting times! Big birthday in SpringWink

BexxG · 13/10/2015 19:30

Hi guys, great to catch up with everyone. You are all doing so well and very inspirational.

I've been ok. Its been a tough couple of weeks emotionally as my best friends husband died, but I have stuck to the programme and last week (week 9) saw the 2 and a half stone mark. I am a third of the way in.

I am still finding it very difficult. I literally have hot chocolate 5 times a day, every day, its the only thing I can stomach. I occasionally have a cold drink if I am out and about, and if I am going to be somewhere like on a train I will save a bar for then. I wouldnt get too excited about the bars, they are not as good as you think they are going to be LMAO! Do you remember the Friends episode with the mockolate? Well these bars are pretty much what I imagine them to taste like hahahahahahaha however, if like I say, you are on a train journey its handy just to whip one of those out instead of having to mix a drink.

I have my strawberries every day, thats my saving grace. I am still getting cravings, particularly for bread and potatoes. It was the funeral today and there were beef sandwiches and chips, my favourite. I dont dare have one, I havent cheated at all, I cant afford to not plough through. But it just about finished me off.

Weigh in tomorrow though so I will keep you posted. Despite it being my period week I am hoping for a good loss as it keeps me motivated.

Well done guys!

Slimslimslim47 · 13/10/2015 22:04

So day one has arrived and glad I had read all the post here and got myself prepared. Started the water drinking on sturdy so had the headache Sunday and yesterday as not sure I would have coped with the diet and headache .... And work :( But at our clinic you can have the bars in stage one so drinks and a bar during the day and cheese omlette for tea. Big salad and lots of stir fry veg tonight and feeling ok. Manage to do the vitamins and sea water drink - not as bad as I had made it in my head so will just get used to that I hope. Wish the clinic had told me a bit more about the pre planning for buying salad and veg as I had a lot of stuff in but could have bought more unlimited if I had had the list before the first treatment. Treatment ok jut not what I would call relaxing but the lady therapist was very nice and so helpful and supportive. 9 days to my next session so I am hoping the first weight loss will be good and really incentivise me - keep promising to stay off the scales but not sure I will manage that at the weekend ..... Any advice on wether to weigh or not would be great ....
32 kilos to go :)
