Alevere / Alizonne

For reasons unknown, the name of the Alizonne diet has changed to Alevere. I have only known it as Alevere and wanted to start a new thread so people can find it under the new name.

I am nearing the end of week 1 and have lost 8lbs so far. I don't count this much as I lose 7lbs in the first week of any diet. I'll see how I go over the next few weeks.

It's a lot of work to follow but I'm getting used to it. Would be happy to swap tips with anyone - particularly on recipes.

Also very happy as I won £500 today which covers a lot of the 1st month costs!!! :)

Can I join in? I've done Alizone before and lost all my weight in a couple of months but put some of it back on due to prei-menopaus. I'm a few weeks in on Alivere now and already lost 10lbs and am feeling so much better. It's so worth it in my opinion as I've really struggled with other weight loss methods as I have such a low RMR (1100).

Can I ask you all where you have your treatment? (as in which part of your body do you target?) I'm thinking about telling the therapist to do my back and hips next time (lying on my front) as this is where I store my fat.

BexxG · 12/09/2015 07:52

Hi Frostycake, please do join us! Well done on geting there the first time, i'm sure it wont take you long to gget back to goal.

Has it changed any since the first time you did it?

BexxG · 12/09/2015 12:41

I've just had my food order through and it says that snack bars are now available for stage 1 and 2??? Anyone else had this information? Part of the restricted section and only allowed three days a week.

Let me know!

BexxG · 12/09/2015 12:46

Frostycake - forgot to say I am having my treatment on my stomach at the moment. I "think" it is starting to make a difference. Been doing it for 4 weeks already, another two and then I think they are going to switch to my thighs x

essy28 · 12/09/2015 18:43

Great to hear everyone is doing so well!

Week 12 for me and lost just under 3 stone, been on a downer this week I just can't see where the weight has gone off or if the treatments are actually doing anything!! Hadn't seen my best friend for six weeks and she didn't comment once on my weight loss (she doesn't know I'm on a diet) which made me doubt what's going on with it all!! Guess everybody has there ups and downs I will keep plodding on. Your comments keep me motivated.

Got the chocolate brownies this week has anyone else tried them? I found the texture a bit odd. I confess I mainly have drinks and soups I find it easier to fit in my working day. Anyone created any interesting savoury dishes lately?

Keep going everyone.

BexxG · 12/09/2015 20:10

Essy28 - that's brilliant! You are doing so well. Its such an encouragement for us who are a bit newer to the programme. I hope I can achieve the same as you, I will be well chuffed.

Other people say they can tell I have lost weight but I cant see it yet. The only thing I have noticed is my wedding ring is looser lol

I heard of one woman who didnt tell anyone she was on this programme, and nobody said anything to her the whole time. When she got to her goal weight she said to everyone "well, I've finally got to my goal weight!" and she said that her friends breathed a sigh of relief and said "oh thank God for that! We thought you had cancer and didnt want to say anything as you hadnt told us!" LOL! Oh dear. Maybe you should reassure them you're not sick!

Keep going. You are doing brilliantly!

Pipan127 · 13/09/2015 23:17

Well this week I plateaued and only lost 0.5 kg. bit gutted but I knew this might happen. Will continue to be a good girl though and hope for better results next Saturday.

ohtryingsohard · 14/09/2015 09:51

Hello All

How was the weekend for you all? I had a very naughty moment and tried some Emily Pineapple Crisps. Sugar free, not fried, and very tasty i had to have 5 crisps.

Aside from that, i hope my weigh in tomorrow does not show that.

@Frostycake - Welcome and Good Luck with your diet. I am having treatment on my Stomach too, and then i think it says thighs Front. However i would like to have some treatment on my arms. These already cause me trouble when trying to find an outfit. I am a size 22 all over, but arms are 26.

@BexxG - That would be so good!! The Bars would make my life easier with all the work travel and carrying my shaker with me. I have 3 now (bought two protean shakers from Amazon).

For all those trying new recipes, i tried the Smokey Bacon Omelette this weekend. I added spring onion tops, spinach, mushroom, courgette and tomato. I added no salt, as i find the sachets are really salty. I ate this with rocket salad, beetroot and carrot ribbons and cucumber. Was very full afterwords! However i really enjoyed it.

I also found a new product (probably not new) which i am going to ask the clinic why its not included on the food lists (maybe because they cannot endorse another company product). Has anyone else seen these?

Hope everyone has a successful week! Keep Going All.

My weekend was okay. I didn't persuade myself to go to the gym because HIIT hurt so much last week. I really need to do it though, otherwise I'll never get over this initial hump. I did get to my 10k steps though. And I got 8 bags of old clothes down from the attic and sorted them - I now have a full range of clothes to take me down from size 20 through to size 16, and a much more limited set of clothes at sized 14 or under. But it means I shouldn't need to buy any clothes until around Christmas time, which my husband will love as our bank balance is hurting more than my muscles because of this diet.

Hi @frostycake - I have my treatment on my lower abdomen. And I think I'll be having there every week until I'm done - as it's my worst area by far.

Hi @essy28 - I think I'll try the brownie next week, am intrigued. Re: compliments - it could be that they don't know what to say, or they don't want to offend you if they don't know what's causing the weight loss. Or it could be something else. From my weight loss last time, I know that at the start, when I'm losing loads and quite quickly, the compliments come thick and fast - and when the weight loss slows down/when we're starting to look slim, the compliments often dry up somewhat. I know, at that stage, my challenge is going to be to stop looking for affirmation and approval from others, and to try and be satisfied knowing it myself. Being proud of my efforts, rather than my results. Sadly, that doesn't come naturally to me.

@pipan127 - any idea why you've plateaud?

@ohtryingsohard - I love it when people share pics. I did some research - on the noodles, they look amazing. The only good reason I can see for the clinic to say no is that they might worry about the glucomannan. We're already eating lots of stuff to keep us regular - they would need to test how the glucomannan interacts with this diet to make sure it didn't cause any digestive issues. But you're right, they might say no because they don't want to refer to a competitor's products; or because they don't want to set a precedent of people going "off menu" and requesting additions because this (a) creates more work for them, but also (b) makes things more complicated for people who are on this diet because it is so simply and removes a lot of the thinking required to lose weight. On the pineapple crisps - they look lovely, think I might get them for my kids. Heads up though - a lot of health foods are cunning and have misleading labels on them - "no added sugar" products can still contain a lot of sugar. Pineapple crisps have a lot of natural fruit sugars in them - but hopefully five crisps won't be enough to do any damage.

@BexxG - I agree with you on the shakers - I got two battery powered vortex shakers on Amazon and everything is so much less powdery now. No one has noticed my weight loss yet - I suppose I'm only three weeks in and I haven't yet dropped a clothes size. But these three weeks have felt like an eternity - how am I going to last another 6 months?

BexxG · 15/09/2015 18:28

Question - why cant we have watermelon? There's nowt in it surely? lol

ohtryingsohard · 16/09/2015 16:59

BexxG you can't eat watermelon. Its water and sugar!

I asked about the Slim noodles and the lady at my clinic said she didn't know why not, but would find out for me and either call me or put it in my file for next time.
I also asked about the bars being introduced at Stage 1-2 and she said that she was not aware of this. I am all very confused. The Therapist i had today was really hurting. I had to ask her to stop twice during the therapy due to the heat. I think she was a bit slow and that heated my skin up too much.

The good news was that i lost 6.9lbs. I did a happy dance and then came back to work. Sitting here and sipping strawberry milkshake.

I hope that by 2nd Oct i have lost the 2st i had hoped i would or at least get a bit closer.

Question - If i start going to the gym and aim to burn about 250 calories per session, i don't have to have an extra sachet. However will that help me lose weight?

I don't want to go into starvation mode.

Its raining today, but i want to keep smiling!

BexxG · 17/09/2015 11:41

sniff gutted lol hahahaha never mind. Didnt realise it had so much sugar in it.

I was told to just keep to my walks while on the diet. In fact I had a better weight loss when I didnt walk as much :-S make of that what you will lol! Cant not walk the dog though and I enjoy walking so will keep strolling. I am going to wait until the weights off before I do anything more. That will help maintain but I dont want to jeopardise any weight coming off at the mo. The quicker I am over this the better.

6.9lbs is absolutely fantastic hun! I bet you were do that happy dance! Well done! Talk about a motivation boost.

My weigh in yesterday. Lost 3lbs. Well, 2.86 lbs to be exact but she rounded up. I was a little disappointed after losing 5lbs last week, but it is the time of the month which apparently makes a difference? Anyone else experienced this?

Does anyone have any salad dressing ideas?

audreypatterson · 17/09/2015 20:55

@ohtryingsohard - that's great news, well done. I managed 5.5lbs this week.
@BexxG - TOTM does exactly the same for me. Dressings? I used some of my restricted allowance and made from strawberry vinaigrette dressing with ww vinegar, ev Olive oil, salt, pepper and three macerated strawberries.

essy28 · 18/09/2015 12:27

Well done on your weight loss everyone! audreypatterson 5.5lb is fab big well done to you.
I've sort of flatlined and just dropping between 1-2lb per week, it's hard after having weeks of 4-5lb loss in the past.Girls at the clinic say it's normal to get less weight loss as I go on have to keep reminding myself it's still a loss. I was advised not to go to the gym and I'd be better off going for walks. Funny how we get told different advise??
Keep going everyone your all doing great!!

Olive63 · 18/09/2015 13:11

Hi Essy28 - I had low weight losses the more exercise I did. I stick to walking and it comes off quicker. Worth a try for a week or two to see if it makes a difference.
Thanks to all for encouragement and foodie suggestions, always good to vary the food as it's easy to get stuck in a rut and have the same old thing every day.

Wanttogetslimmer · 18/09/2015 13:13

Hello All,

Still going strong, and not breaking yet, but I did drink a white coffee the other day by accident. Amazing really, it used to be chocolate I worried about!

As I have said earlier I found it difficult to get all the sachets in, and last week had 3 days where I only managed 2 because because I forgot to eat as I was so busy and didn't have any huger pangs.

Anyway I saw the doctor last Saturday and had a real telling off. She explained that you should have all sachets as the amount of amino acids are measured exactly to ensure all weight loss is from fat and not lean tissue/muscle. If you don't have enough of the AA your body will get energy instead from lean muscle, and your weight loss will slow, and worse because you're are using muscle as a source of energy your BMR will go down, as muscle needs more calories. It is also important as the supplements are based on the amount of sachets. I guess this will be why if you are doing exercise you may need more, as the body will start using muscle as a source of energy if it runs out of sachets/amino acids.

I have seen first hand that my weight loss stopped completely in the days I was only having 2 sachets, and I picked up at the end of week to lose 2lb by last Saturday.

I have started running again, using the couch to 5KM training programme - I am now on week 2 and loving it. I will need to ask about an extra sachet, I don't want another telling off!

I telephoned my therapist today ahead of seeing her tomorrow to give her time to find out if we can have tinned tomatoes and the noodles mentioned by ohtryingsohard (fantastic weight loss, by the way). I am hoping this may be the way forward with any questions, as I normally ask them whilst being zapped, and she will forget by the following week.

BexxG As we are allowed mustard, i think this may be a nice salad dressing (obviously not to be used all at once, as we will go over allowance):

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard (be generous)
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice or 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
5 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper

And thanks for the tip on electric shake bottles - i didn't even know they existed, but now have 2.

Welcome Frostycake - this is a great thread for support and tips. I too only have the heat treatment on my stomach at the moment.

I think all the answers Essy28 on people noticing are true - I also think I covered lots of my weight before with support underwear and layers. I cannot tell you have wonderful it is to take my jacket and scarf off when hot as opposed to being scared of exposing my belly hanging over my trousers. I also think people may think you are embarrassed to talk about it, especially if as over weight as me - and that is true for me. I just love the way I feel now.

Pipan127 - good luck for tomorrw, I hope it goes up a bit to give you a boast, although as we always say, a loss is a loss (just think of that bag of sugar which weighs a 1lb).

audreypatterson - great weight loss.

Good luck all for the next week. x

Wanttogetslimmer · 19/09/2015 17:11

3.5lb off for me today, very happy with that. I was shocked to realise today that I only have 7lb to go before phase 2 so really happy about that too.

I had a stats check today, you know the one you have before you start that measures your lean/fat ratios etc and was worried to discover that I was once 70kg of lean, and it is now 53 kg. As I am currently 95.5kg and started at 117kg, that would mean I was once 47kg of fat and am now 42.5 kg of fat! This is very worrying for me and my therapist thinks it must be wrong, but she had another patient so couldn't recheck. I am really hoping the machine had a clitch, but will need to wait a week to find out. If it was correct, it may be because I have mainly only managed 4 sachets per day, and the doctor was right as per my previous post. But in addition I have always, every day, eaten a large salad every lunchtime and a large amount of veg every evening. I have also always eaten my fruit allowance.

Anyway onwards and upwards, and fingers crossed for next week.

Have a great week everyone x

BexxG · 21/09/2015 13:54

I dont know who posted the idea bout making the vanilla desert into a vanilla latte but whoever it was thank you! I really enjoyed that xx

How's everyone getting on?

audreypatterson · 22/09/2015 16:19

I've been a bit patchy with my meals unfortunately. For the last few days I've been an hour or two late with one of the shakes. It's really annoying me.

nicketynack · 22/09/2015 21:22

Hi guys. I was doing the Alizonne programme last year. I still have some leftover sachets if anyone is interested in buying them? I have:

Smoked bacon omelette x 2
Vanilla dessert x6
Orange & pineapple drink x 3
Cappuccino x 2
Oriental chicken soup x 4
Oatmeal with apple/cinnamon/hazelnut x 2
Cream of mushroom soup x 5
Plain bread with apricot jelly x4
Warm chocolate drink – 5
Hazelnut cereal dessert x 1 – best before 11/2015

The use by dates are all 2016 with the exception of the hazelnut dessert, as noted above.

I also have 11 ampules of Quinton hypertonic and an unopened tube of 20 potassium tablets.

Let me know if anyone is interested and wish you all lots of luck with your weight loss journeys!

ohtryingsohard · 24/09/2015 12:34

Hello Everyone

Good news. I have received the Doctors advice with regards to the Slim Noodles/Pasta. Apparently we can have this as a replacement for one of our sachets, (Lunch or Dinner only). The clinic did warn me and say that this advice was based on the nutritional information provided by the manufacturer only, so if they are lying on the packet then the clinic cannot be held liable for the misleading information or advice.

However the doctor said it as ok if i wanted to try them as an alternative. I have not tried this as yet, however was thinking of doing something this weekend.

This week weigh in for me was very disappointing. Did not lose anything, however i am surprised i did not gain anything after the disastrous Saturday evening i had. I went to a birthday dinner, and cooked up my chicken nuggets to take with me. Unfortunately i forget them at home!
I tried to stick to eating the allowed veg, and a salad (which was fresh and very nice) however the veg was cooked in a rich sauce and i felt really bad afterwards.

Back on track since Tuesday, however cravings for something sweet are driving me mad.

@nicketynack - don't mind trying the Plain Bread and Apricot Jelly. How do we sort logistics?

Wanttogetslimmer · 24/09/2015 19:08

How funny ohtryingsohard - my clinic said no to the noodles! But they did say I can have tinned tomatoes, but only around 150grams, which is much better for making a sauce for corchetti. Seems all clinics have a different way of doing things.

Have you tried the vanilla desert to sort your sweet cravings?

BexxG · 24/09/2015 21:17

Hey guys, hope everyone is well. Another 3lb on Wednesdays weigh in. Wanted 4 (obvs lol) but it did mark exactly 2 stone lost so I was happy with that :-) Started me thinking about the possibility of me being another 2-3 stone lighter by Christmas made me very happy and feel quite motivated again.

I've struggled with my supplements this week, particularly the morning tablets. And have also struggled fitting in the five sachets. I have a salad or strawberries with my lunch time one, so I dont get hungry, end up having the fourth one too late on in the day so either have to squeeze another one in at 9pm in which case I have to stay up til 11 before I go to bed, or not have it. So theres been a couple of evenings I havent had it :-S

How funny that you guys have had conflicting advice about the noodles?!? I checked with my clinic this week about the cereal bars being available on stage 1. They confirmed that this was true, although limited to three times a week, and they gave me three to try (although all the same flavour). I got the choc/hazelnut crunch ......... how to describe it ........ erm ...... the first bite was a pleasant surprise (I was so scared it wasnt going to taste as nice as it looked lol), second bite was delicious, third bite started getting an after-taste hahahahahahaha having said that, it was such a nice change to having to pack the shaker, and sachet to go out though so I think they will be really handy to have on the odd occasion. I might try something other than chocolate though. Being a huge cadburys fan, I struggle with chocolate that is not lol

Hope you are ok x

Wanttogetslimmer · 25/09/2015 20:21

Hi BexxG, I would definately recommend trying to get 5 sachets per day, so you don't have results like me where you lose weight from muscle rather than fat. I know it's hard! Those bars sound ideal to help with getting more in in a day, but my clinic says I can only have them in stage 2. I am now working very hard to get that 5th sachet in. X

BexxG · 25/09/2015 20:45

Yes, you are right hun. I will try!!

Hope you have a good week xx
