Alevere / Alizonne

For reasons unknown, the name of the Alizonne diet has changed to Alevere. I have only known it as Alevere and wanted to start a new thread so people can find it under the new name.

I am nearing the end of week 1 and have lost 8lbs so far. I don't count this much as I lose 7lbs in the first week of any diet. I'll see how I go over the next few weeks.

It's a lot of work to follow but I'm getting used to it. Would be happy to swap tips with anyone - particularly on recipes.

Also very happy as I won £500 today which covers a lot of the 1st month costs!!! :)

I just wanted to say to the people in the first few weeks that it really does get easier. I have been doing this for 7 months and it has actually flown by. I didn't believe at the beginning that I would be able to manage for more than a couple of months but I have done and I am still going strong.

After this length of time you really feel like you have broken all your bad habits and the exciting thing is slowly learning what new habits you will have as you go through the stages coming off.

One thing that has really spurred me on after the first few weeks is all the positive comments about how I look from people in all aspects of my life- work, friends, neighbours etc. If you don't want to tell people how you have lost the weight - get your story ready as I bet people will soon start complementing you!

Hello Everyone

Its Friday and i am smiling! My belt has moved a notch tighter today! I love that feeling and i really want to the trouser size to move one down too. So i am going to keep smiling, blending and shaking, not stirring my drinks.

I hope that the weekend does not prove to be too tempting.

PS i have not and will not weigh myself. I want to loose 2 stone before 2nd Oct, my anniversary and want the OH to be surprised when i see him.

Pipan127 · 04/09/2015 22:57

Well it has been a joyful day today folks. Having worried about the sucrose in my antibiotics - I have more than survived. 3.9 kg lost over 13 days! Happy happy happy! I started Alevere on 30 th June and have lost 19kgs exactly which is a whisker off 3 stone. Yikes! I had lost 1 stone 5 lbs before I started so am really on a huge journey now. Sooo motivated for the next 4 stone. I feel that I am getting me back. Now starting to obsess a bit about keeping it off but Wofie's post made me feel better. Would love people to post when they have got to the end. Would be wonderful inspiration for us all. Got some new things to try. Feta cheese (love the real stuff) to have in a salad. Mashed potato to try in the stuffed mushroom recipe. Oatmeal as am missing porridge and salmon blinis which I have no clue about. How did I get to be excited about living on dust? Who knew huh? Any suggestions about the salmon Bs would be greatly appreciated. Night all. X

audreypatterson · 05/09/2015 09:10

@ohtryingsohard and @pipan27 great job on your losses ladies (including unconfirmed ones :))

Disappointed with my first few experiments with recipes, I've got quite boring at the end of this week. Mostly drinks really. With one curry (soups are reliable stocks) and one omelette. Might get more adventurous over the weekend.

Pipan127 · 05/09/2015 16:14

OK Feta Cheese
It's alright as long as you don't expect it to taste like Feta Cheese. I have made it and just tasted a bit. To my mind it needs salt in before mixing. Garlic salt with herbs might make it exciting enough for a salad. Will investigate and pass it on.

Pipan127 · 05/09/2015 16:19

Audreypatterson - I find I have much better weight losses when I bulk up with lots of veg in the evening eg cauliflower rice with curried courgette, aubergine, spring onions, mushrooms, celery and tomatoes. I usually make enough for a large portion for 4 evening meals. If you have all of that with an omelette or chicken nuggets, you are pretty stuffed. It helps with the loo thing too!

Pipan127 · 05/09/2015 16:20

Sorry don't mean to preach - maybe you are already doing all of that already.

BexxG · 05/09/2015 18:56

That's why I was confused Audrey! LOL! It wasnt on my list but was in the recipe. Oh dear.

Hows everyone doing? Whats everyone's weigh in this week?

I have to confess I had been craving everything. And I am hungry. Despite keeping to the timings. I havent given in at all but it just makes it harder. Have felt quite down.

On a plus note my husband said he could tell I've lost weight today. That was nice.

Hope you are all having a good weekend.

BexxG · 05/09/2015 18:59

Sorry, my page didnt refresh! I'm responding to messages from ages ago lol

audreypatterson · 06/09/2015 08:17

@BexxG definitely discuss your hunger with the clinic. We're not supposed to be hungry at all, they might suggest you have an additional sachet a day and bring your meals closer together. The impression I get is that fairly soon after getting hungry, or bodies will slip into fasting mode, which isn't good for weight loss. I've been pulling long days at work recently and they've said it would be better for my weight loss to have an extra sachet than to end the day hungry.

@pipan27 don't worry, didn't sound preachy at all Smile

My weigh ins are on Thursday evening. List 2kg this week. Hope everyone else did as well or better!

Hilssinger1 · 06/09/2015 10:30

Well I'm starting day 4 today. I'm really pleased that I've stuck to 3 days so far . I don't love any of the food but can tolerate all of it. And am amazed how much I look forward to stir fry broccoli and cabbage. I am daunted by the thought of doing this for several months but am trying to take it a day at a time. Have a good day all !!

BexxG · 07/09/2015 10:39

Well done Hilssinger1, week 4 for me, weigh in this Wednesday.

Thanks for the tip audrey, I will talk with them and see what they say. I think a lot of my problem is that I am used to eating food that I enjoy and if there isnt anything I would rather go without. Its ridiculous I know, but I am struggling when I do my food orders because I dont "fancy" anything. I have ordered all drinks this week so will just plow through with that.

I had a terrible day yesterday. Went out to church, remembered my mixer and water forgot a flipping sachet!!! So it was 2 oclock when I had my second one. I will be annoyed if I havent lost anything this week.

Hopefully, should be better now everything is back to normal ie school/work etc.

Hilssinger1 · 07/09/2015 12:51

Hi,
Don't know if you can help me fellow omlette eaters. It he pack says to add 1tsp of oil to make up the omlette. Is that in addition to the 1 tbsp I can have each day? Fingers crossed the answer is yes.....

audreypatterson · 07/09/2015 20:07

@Hilssinger1 I'm afraid it's not extra. But with a good non-stick pan you may not need as much as a tbsp of oil. I just have a few squirts of spray oil.

wolfie100 · 07/09/2015 23:41

I had my week 31 weigh in today and I have now lost 37.5 kilos which is 5 stone 12.5 lbs. that's an average weight loss of 1.2 kilos per week.

I am so chuffed and cannot believe I am now buying size 12 clothes.

If I can do this (after failing at weightwatchers and slimming world several times) then so can all of you out there in the early stages. It really is worth persevering through the hard days, just have a chocolate sachet instead or some melon and strawberries!

My lowest points have been when I have the odd week where I haven't lost anything or in one awful week I put weight on although I have always stuck to the diet. I have also found social occasions difficult and really wanted to join in the drinking and eating. However these are only moments which pass quickly and then the positive feeling from the weight loss far outweighs all of them.

i am so scared about coming off the diet as I so don't want to put the weight back on. I am not quite there yet but i will be moving to stage 3 in a week or so. Any tips for moving through Stages 3 to 8 and afterwards would be very welcome!

Keep going everyone!

ohtryingsohard · 08/09/2015 09:17

Good Morning All

I had my 2nd weigh in and not as good as the first, i lost 3.2lbs.
I have been a bit more relaxed this week, and as i said before i actually enjoyed some of the food!

Wolfie100 - i think i am going with your average, and if you say you have lost 5st 12.5lbs over 31 weeks i want to match you! Thank you i felt better after reading about your gradual loss.

I asked at the clinic yesterday about the Tefal Actifry and was told that as long as it only used the 15ml of olive oil it was fine, and i could eat "fried chips".

If anyone is looking then Argos is doing them cheaper at the moment for £99 instead of the £149.99. The swede chips and the courgette chips come out lovely!

Additional to that, i just want to proudly share my Trifle! I decided not to try jelly, so i crushed some strawberries (53gms) added 1/4 of Canderel, and some basil seeds (Great British Bake Off idea). Then made up a sachet of vanilla dessert in cold water, heated it in a pan like custard, (it became a bit more runny when heated) let it sit for 5 mins and poured over the crushed strawberries and chilled overnight or 2-3 hours.

Results attached. Tasted VERY good. Better than Custard!
It made the real thing for the rest of the family in the same glasses (nutella jars) and no one knew the difference.

This week is going to be tough, i am going away today for work till Friday evening and i have two dinners and two lunch meetings. I have made up some food and am determined to do this.

Keep Going Alevere Friends!
;)

Ohtryingsohard - the trifle sounds lovely, I am going to try it at the weekend. I like the sound of the veg crisps too. It's really good to get some new ideas for allowable foods. I have been on this diet for so long I am now very set in my ways!

Well done on the 3.2lbs too- that's brilliant - 1/4 of a stone in a week.

Wanttogetslimmer · 09/09/2015 16:35

Dear All,

There is lots of you working so hard out there, and again I have gained lots of tips for recipes and love ready how you're all getting on - well done everyone on your weight losses.

Wolfie100 - you have done amazingly well. Oh the joy I will have when I can fit into a size 12 again.

Ohtryingsohard - still a great loss, and thank you for the trifle recipe - I will defo give that a go at the weekend. I love the taste of the vanilla desert, but have to almost try and eat without looking at the texture!!!!

I seem to be going the opposite way of some, in that I am never hungry which I am finding can also be a disadvantage. I have been really busy since this time last week and have found myself in the evening only having my second sachet of the day, because I had forgotten to drink/eat anything. Interesting my weight loss has stopped during this period, so really not good, and I have had headaches and my blood pressure was low at weigh in on Saturday. I was told off, and wasn't allowed to leave until I had a sachet and my blood pressure went back up. To make matters worse I had also forgotten to take my supplements.

I did lose another 4.5lbs on Saturday (0.5lb under 3 stone lost now), but know the scales have not moved since then so expect a lower or no weight loss this week. I think having too few sachets is as bad as having 'naughty' food.

I am now making sure to have at least 4 sachets a day, and lots of veg and salad and hope the weight loss starts again.

xxx

BexxG · 09/09/2015 21:47

Well done everyone, you're all doing so well.

wantstogetslimmer - thats really tough, but it looks like you are back on track now.

I've struggled with supplements this week. Just those two big pills in the morning, blurgh. I have forgotten a couple of days as I will have my drink and the fizzy/tonic drink, but then wait half hour before taking the others. OK in theory until I get busy and forget. Must do better.

So had my appointment today. They think I am getting hungry because I am adding too much water to my drinks to make it more palatable, I find its a nicer consistency and mixes better, but apparently it then doesnt thicken up properly. I'm not sure how accurate that is, my therapist is only a young girl, but I might try measuring it all properly this week and see if it makes a difference.

Despite having a really whiny week, I have lost 5lbs which I am astounded at. 21.5lbs in a month. Kinda makes it worth it.

If only I could stop dreaming about ham sandwiches ...........................

audreypatterson · 09/09/2015 23:19

That's amazing weight loss, well done BexxG!

Pipan127 · 10/09/2015 10:55

Great news Wolfie! I am very inspired;)) wanttogetslimmer I Kept forgetting to eat in the beginning because I wasn't hungry. I got round it by putting 'days' together with an elastic band round them with all supplements for the day in a box. It also meant I could grab the lot if I was going out for the day. I also take the second (final) lot of supplements about 5 or 6 otherwise I just forget them when I am tired at bed time. Hope this might help.

Wanttogetslimmer · 10/09/2015 17:13

Thanks Pipan127 - really good idea, and it will save my whole house being covered in sachets.

I have lost a 1lb since yesterday, so maybe now I have started eating more I will be back on track.

Well done BexxG - that loss will be worth the 'pain' you went through. I hope it gets easier for you now.

Best wishes to all my fellow slimmers xxx

audreypatterson · 10/09/2015 22:40

Lost 3.5 kg this week. A decent loss.
It occurs to me, though, that the average "stone a month" weight loss cited in all the literature and by the doctor will be across men and women. And as we know men lose more weight and much faster than women, it's probably naive of me to think the weight loss will continue at this place. I'm only just going to hit a stone lost in one month- if I manage it at all- and the first month is supposed to be the easiest loss, so I suspect phase two will be a killer!

ohtryingsohard · 11/09/2015 11:26

Auderypatterson

Well Done. I am thinking the same thing. Just above the scales is a poster with a man who lost 5st in 12 weeks. That is so no happening for me!

I was away for this week and have to admit that although i had my drinks i did end up eating a bit more than 200gm of the limited veg options due to nothing else being available. However i do have to say i did stay away from everything else.

I am craving Potato though. This weekend is a nice quite one at home, so i am hoping to try some new recipes and get myself organised for next week.

Well done to all of you who have lost this week.
