I really hate exercise but I'm hoping that doing it alongside the plan will stop me looking like a burst balloon at the end. I follow a few people on Instagram who exercise a lot on SS+ so it can't be too bad.

I met with a Cambridge consultant a few months ago who said that I'd need to start on Step 3 if I wanted to continue with running and bootcamp but I told her I wasn't interested because Step 3 isn't ketogenic and would be far too expensive to have three packs a day plus a meal and snacks xo

May I join? I can't sit down in my dress and don't need to lose weight per se but I do need to shrink myself a bit otherwise it's going to be an interesting day, I won't be able to bend to get into the car!

Dress is a size 14 and I am at the bigger end of a 14. I started exercising and now a chest infection has knocked me out so this week I can't do anything Sad feeling a bit pessimistic to say the least!

gotredonyou · 15/04/2015 10:51

Of course ChubbyKitty How long have you got until the big day?? x

ChubbyKitty · 15/04/2015 10:54

It was 2 months on Monday! Hopefully I'll be cleared up by Saturday as the BMs are taking me to get me a new veil as the one I got looks terrible with my dress(it's white and dress is Ivory with gold flecks), and then we have a wedding reception in the evening. Then after that I can get to sorting my chunky middle out again!

gotredonyou · 15/04/2015 10:57

Plenty of time to make a difference in your dress then- Whats your plan? Hope you feel better soon Flowers

FreakinScaryCaaw · 15/04/2015 11:04

Welcome ChubbyKitty.

Hi ChubbyKitty, welcome to the thread Smile

OP posts:
ChubbyKitty · 15/04/2015 13:32

Thanks everyone Smile

Plan is to lose a few inches around my stomach as that's my flabbier part, and to tone up my thighs/hips/bum slightly as parts of me currently have to be stuffed in by the hands of my poor traumatised BMs.

SoonToBeMrsB · 15/04/2015 13:44

Sadly spot reduction isn't possible but the parts of you that you're unhappy with will reduce with overall fat loss Smile

Running is great for your lower body and core though, my bum always sits a little higher when I've been running for a few weeks Grin

OP posts:
ChubbyKitty · 15/04/2015 21:53

The issue with the bum and hips is its a very figure hugging mermaid tail so I need to be able to fill it out well, so I'm worried about losing too much round there!Blush

Unfortunately I can't do a sit up to save my life, is there something better and more possible?

BotoxBitch · 16/04/2015 04:11

I'm on day 4 of no carb, got into ketosis yesterday which is fab for my hunger but I feel so drained, think this bit is referred too as carb flu Hmm not great. H2B has just left house for benidorm on his stag do Smile 6 weeks today!!!xx

Dowser · 16/04/2015 07:23

Welcome chubby kitty.

I've managed 4 days without chocolate. I'm doing it for health reasons. If I lose weight...bonus.

Tried on my new dress for the civil ceremony and I can zip it up and breathe possibly eat.

So for the civil ceremony my dress is bright fuschia and for the actual wedding the other dress is white. Together they cost less than I expected to pay for one dress
Now both need taking up.

Went for a meal last night and ate a big slab of meat.

Hubby's apparently. They'd got the orders mixed up and he ate my smaller piece.

Wasn't any room for anything else.

Just about packed for tomorrow.

SoonToBeMrsB · 16/04/2015 07:30

Kitty, don't worry about that - sit ups aren't the most effective anyway! Basically toning exercises work your muscles but if there is fat covering them, you won't see any difference until the fat is burned off. 80% of weight loss is down to diet and it's unfortunate that we can't pick and choose where we lose the weight from (trust me, I'd have Michelle Obama's arms if I could choose!).

I wish I had a solution for you but it really comes down to what you're eating with some high intensity interval training thrown in xo

Makes sense soon. I am trying to watch what I eat, starting with portion control as I normally have a very big appetite! But I've been cooking for friends, same amount of food, and DP eats the same he always has as he has no problem with his portions!

Also swapped sugar for sweetener in my coffee and only drink red milk, as only have it in coffee anyway. I've also started buying Turkey instead of other meat as it's leaner than say chicken or beef I believe? I could be wrong..

Trying to hide from the easter chocolate as well but when it's sat staring at meHmm on the plus side since being ill I've barely had an appetite!

ChubbyKitty · 16/04/2015 08:42

I do like jogging, I did some before I got sick as its kind of easy compared to other exercises. And on off days I can shut the curtains and jog on the spot to recorded simpsons episodes.

SoonToBeMrsB · 16/04/2015 09:01

Don't slide too far to "diet" products - I avoid skimmed milk and "fat free" yoghurts because they pump them full of sugar and sweeteners to make them taste better after the fat has been removed. Fat is good for you and will make you feel fuller so you should aim for smaller portions of full fat dairy, healthy oils, nuts, avocados, etc. I've never steered clear of red meat, you can't beat a good steak with roasted asparagus, mushrooms and hasselback potatoes Wink

I think you should look at tracking your calories (using honest portion sizes - weigh EVERYTHING) with My Fitness Pal and it could show you where you're going wrong. MFP will also show you if you're eating too many carbs, too little fat, too much sugar, etc xo

The plank has really helped my core...I started a few months ago and could only manage about 15secs...now I can do 2 minutes! It's not really changed the appearance of my stomach but I find it easier to hold it in so now so my stomach looks flat from the side as my muscles are stronger. x

FreakinScaryCaaw · 16/04/2015 09:37

I agree Soon, fat is good for you. Sugar is the enemy but we can have some. It's moderation that we need.

I ate too many carbs yesterday but the sandwich I had was wholegrain. I also power walked for an hour.

We've got dgs today. He keeps us busy.

Gotred I keep forgetting to plank.

SoonToBeMrsB · 16/04/2015 09:42

The scales were calling me and I'm 4.2lbs down after two days on Exante, which I can't sniff at! I was really hungry yesterday and I don't expect to be in ketosis for another couple of days but I'm chuffed that I'm at least losing some of my water/bloat.

OP posts:
Dowser · 16/04/2015 10:35

Oh good mrs b.

Was thinking its been about three months since most of us have started this.

Just wondering how the total weight losses are doing.

I haven't been weighed but am reckoning on about 3. -5 lbs. not brilliant but not bloated either.

That's included 5 weeks away from home/ holidays. Birthday, mothers day, valentines day and Easter.

Don't feel pressured into doing this.

Went to see mum yesterday. Took her some Cadbury cream eggs. She looked well and was in a genial mood. I get so stressed when visiting her that normally I would have eaten an egg.

Starting my 5th chocolate/ sugar free day today.

SoonToBeMrsB · 16/04/2015 11:33

I've bounced around the 14's losing and gaining the same 7lbs since new year, it's depressing! I feel strangely not that hungry today, more peckish than the slap-those-crisps-out-of-your-hands hunger I've had so far. I've only had a coffee and 1L of water so far, I'm pretty sure I can put off my first pack for another hour or so. Odd!

Good luck with your 5th sugar free day, it's so hard to give up!

gotredonyou · 16/04/2015 11:37

Well done Soon - Sounds like you are on your way into ketosis!

I was 11.10 this morning...4 weeks ago I was 11.12 but two weeks ago I was 11.8 boo ! Dying to get into the 10's too but can't seem to stick to any plan for very long without coming off track x

SoonToBeMrsB · 16/04/2015 11:45

Gotred I'm the same, I'd string three good days together and then have crisps and chocolate! I start out with great intentions every day but my attitude towards food is atrocious xo

OP posts:
gotredonyou · 16/04/2015 11:58

I just keep changing my mind about what is the right plan for me so i'm getting nowhere. Really want to try the Body Coach's lean in 15 90 day plan but it looks real hard work! Low carb, high fat, no sugar & lots of hiit in the first cycle. Then weight lifting and healthy carbs introduced in the second. The before and after pics are amazing but I don't want to spend all that money to waste it by cheating!!

I keep looking at my diary and putting it off because I've got several social events coming up and I'll feel like i'm missing out if I cant eat/drink like everyone else ughhh x

SoonToBeMrsB · 16/04/2015 12:11

Losing weight is awful and we live in a world where we're almost doomed to failure because EVERYTHING is centred around high fat, high sugar food and drinks. Unhealthy food is everywhere, it's cheap and our brains are hardwired to seek it out. Sadly this problem just didn't exist in the past Sad

I wish I could say that paying a lot of money will keep you on the straight and narrow but even paying £50 upfront for 12 weeks of SW didn't keep me on track. Losing money doesn't seem to be a big enough incentive, even though I'm fat and poor Grin Blush
