Hi, I started on 1st Jan at 18st 10lbs and I have so much to lose, it would be lovely to share my journey with others who have over 6 stones to lose.

I know it's going to be a really long slog and I'll need help staying on the straight and narrow. I have to do it this year, no excuses!

So far I have lost 8.4lbs in first 11 days, but that seems tiny when I've got nearly nine stones to lose altogether. My goal is 10st.

Anyone out there? All buddies welcome Grin

Afternoon all. I hope you're all doing well?

I'm not weighing at the moment as its TOTM so I know the scales won't be kind to me!

I am currently 12 days dry. I had been feeling confident in keeping dry this weekend, but now I'm sitting in the office looking towards home time, I keep thinking how bloody nice a cold glass of white (or three) would be. Must be good!!

I have a hen do next weekend, which I was looking forward to. But now having properly read the itinerary, I see it's a 4+ hour drive each way (god knows how long that + could amount to with London and M4 traffic on a Friday evening), we need THREE fancy dress outfits on specified themes (I have none), need to prepare a page of 'memories' each for the bride and bake a cake. Added to that, it's one large cottage with shared bedrooms, so I probably won't end up getting any decent sleep - I sound so old and miserable!!

Macloveswill · 08/05/2015 14:26

Oh no Letme, I don't think you sound miserable at all! I think your hen party sounds like a total PITA! 3 outfits is bloody ridiculous. I found it hard coming up with one for my hen thing a couple of weeks ago. Let us know if we can help with any ideas. All that organising tends to take the fun out of things doesn't it. Alcohol will help you grin and bear it and have some fun Grin

Well done on the 12 days dry! I unfortunately haven't been dry, along with eating almost a whole family bag of peanuts (why?!) yesterday Smile

Have a good weekend everyone!

LetMeBeLight · 08/05/2015 15:23

I'm always hearing nuts are a great source of good fats so it's not all bad!

The themes for the fancy dress are (1) Sherlock Holmes, (2) crazy/disgusting and (3) 1920s.

To be honest, I can't be arsed. Can't be arsed shopping (even though I'd probably do it online) and can't be arsed wasting money on things I will bin before the weekend is over. Bah humbug!

ProfYaffle · 08/05/2015 16:12

Oh Lordy that sounds awful! I had a very similar hen do a couple of years ago. All the others were very sporty girls, very slim, no concept of the horror of dressing up if you're larger

As it turned out, they were all happy to dress up and dance about, I played the appreciative audience, didn't dress up but took photos and whooped from the sidelines. It wasn't what I'd choose to do but it was OK. Booze was vital though!

Macloveswill · 08/05/2015 21:35

Get thee on eBay Letme, it'll take you 10 mins and you'll probably pick up all 3 outfits for £30. Job done!

But maybe spill a huge drink on the woman whose idea the 3 outfits were Wink

Good luck!

Just had a really yummy dinner which I thought I'd share with you all. Salmon fillet fried in coconut oil - lovely crispy skin plus courgette spaghetti salad with peanut dressing (crunchy peanut butter, soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, ginger, mixed with a few tbsp of water to thin it. Think I'll add chilli next time) The courgette and peanut mix is my current favourite, I'm quite obsessed with it!

Macloveswill · 09/05/2015 21:22

Sounds lovely Prof....I've had spag Bol with courgetti spaghetti. I might try your peanut version though!

I'm having a welcome sat night in with my feet up watching some trash on telly and Internet shopping Grin

It's a wineless weekend for once Smile

Well ladies I've lost a measly pound, but guess what? I'm now in the 15s...woo-hoo!!!!!! Only just....15st 13.9lbs, but it sounds sooooo much better than 18st 10.6lbs doesn't it?!!

Onwards and downwards....but goodness it's bloody slow at the moment! Still, SBC!

Hi everyone i am back from my hols! I had a fab time and managed to eat out every night for dinner and stick to low carb. I did eat a lot of sausage, bacon and chicken wings however so i need some green veg in my life now as it was a bit lacking this week.

I did drink on a couple of occasions but stuck to dry white wine and diet bacardi cokes. I couldnt wait to weigh myself and i had put on a pound but its totm so i think i may be a couple down in the grand scheme of things.

It was all going so well until hubby and i had a child free night and went out (golf club event, very nice) and then instead of going home we ended up in the club where we used to do our courting - we got drunk and danced until 3 am - we were the oldest people there and it was hilarious. We had chips on the way home and then carby rubbish the next day to recover! It was an amazing night and worth every pound i will inevitably put on.

Letme - i am with you on fancy dress - awful and 3 changes in one event is just ridiculous.

Well done Mac on being firmly in the 15s!!

Prof def trying peanutty courgette noodles, i love the sound of that. Courgette noodles are my go to thing as they are so quick, just need them to come into season as they are pricey at the moment.

I need to get back to the gym this week, i did tonnes of walking whilst away but no actual exercise. Bootcamp starts again on monday and i need to be very strict again as i have been messing around a bit and not seeing solid losses, so 10 weeks of strictness coming up.

Good luck everyone - i missed you all its hard to keep on the straight and now when you dont have to confess your sins to anyone!! lol. SBC

blessedenough · 10/05/2015 09:37

ps we find out on monday if we will be moving house, the house we offered on has another offer -same as ours, and we are in the best position so the agents are checking the chain out, so should find out monday if we are moving to the seaside!!

Macloveswill · 10/05/2015 09:54

Welcome home Blessed, sounds like you had a smashing time. Loving your clubbing night, hope you had a snog on the dance floor Wink you've done well to largely stick to LC on your hols. I need to join you getting a bit stricter, but unfortunately have lots of nights out and weddings coming up. Fingers crossed for you on the house!

OP posts:
blessedenough · 10/05/2015 10:34

yep snogged like teenagers it was epic!!

It was promising that i found it relatively easy to stick to LC, i had a dress that i was desperate to fit into but still looked pregnant when wearing it, sadly i dont have any other events coming up where it will have a chance to have an outing but it was a charity shop find so will be heading back there.

Back to legs bums and tums tomorrow - that should burn off those pesky carbs!

Need to be strict now so if we move i dont have to lug my fat clothes with me, this new house has a dressing room (big cupboard really) so i will actually be able to see what i own. I have been meaning to kondo (down sizing and sorting your stuff basically) so this house move will be the perfect opportunity.

I hope we get this house as i have already mentally redecorated and picked out new furniture!

ProfYaffle · 10/05/2015 16:55

Sounds fab Blessed, and worth the pound! Dh has a deal at work where he takes every Friday off over summer, last Friday was his first one at home. To celebrate we had a boozy lunch while the kids were at school then walked to school to pick them up. One of the other Mums at school made a comment about seeing us 'being adolescent' in the park on the way to pick up Blush

Mac - a pound off is a pound off, nowt wrong with that!

Macloveswill · 10/05/2015 19:50

Here's to being adolescent on dance floors and in parks! Wine

Yes I know a pound off is still a pound closer to my goal, so I shouldn't whinge really should I Grin

12st 4lbs this morning! That puts me as just hovering on the cusp of 'overweight' rather than 'obese'. It will be so nice to leave the O word behind. Depressingly, 10st is the top end of normal for my height and that's the lightest I've ever been. 9st is more like the middle, I can't imagine ever getting down that far.

ProfYaffle · 11/05/2015 07:19

Just realised they're both O words

blessedenough · 11/05/2015 08:04

Well done prof, i am short so my ideal weight is somewhere between 8st 11 and 10st - i dont think i was ever the bottom of my weight range. You are doing so well.

I have 3st 9lbs ish to go. I havent weighed today as it will just be too depressing.

I have had to bin off the gym today as DS spent all night vommiting and i have the start of a cold, hubby also suffering - i am actually very disappointed as was hoping to start training again and this 5k is frighteningly close!

Have a good monday everyone, i am going to slink off back to bed now DS is asleep and ignore all the holiday washing!

Macloveswill · 11/05/2015 09:36

Well done getting from the first O to the second O Prof Wink I have just slipped below the MO to the first O....BMI 34.9 Hmm

According to the charts, my ideal weight range is 8st 6lbs to 11st 6lbs. I couldn't conceive being at the bottom of that...the lowest I've weighed as an adult is 9st 10lbs.

Blessed sorry to hear the lurgy has struck your house, doesn't it always happen when you have loads to do?! Sleep helps, so good idea to go back to bed! Don't despair at having over 3st to lose...I still have over 5st (nearly 6st!) to lose Confused

LetMeBeLight · 11/05/2015 12:15

Morning all.

Bit of a mixed bag from me over the weekend - I did something to my back while gardening shortly before we were due to leave for dinner at the in laws. So I stayed home, which meant there was nothing in the house to eat and all the supermarkets shut so I got a pizza delivered. On the plus side, I managed another dry weekend.

I feel I'm slipping a bit - in most aspects of my life! Have tons of stuff to do and really need to consistently put the effort in with this WOE/exercise, so I need to have a stern word with myself and pull my socks up!!

Sorry to hear of all the illness in your house blessed, but pleased you had a good holiday.

And big congratulations to Mac and Prof for reaching some excellent markers, always nice to go down into the next stone or weight category.

blessedenough · 11/05/2015 14:11

I feel the same Mac - i need to regroup and do this properly. Also when i feel i am achieving in one area of my life other areas seem easier to achieve results in, when it goes tits up - it all goes to pot!

Maybe an exercise challenge? I have race for life - i am feeling ok, i think i might shake this off without it becoming a full blown thing, so hopeful for gym tomorrow.

Or perhaps a new (ebay/charity shop) summer dress in a size down. When i worked and had to slim down for my wedding i stuck my fattest pic ever as my screen saver and every time i looked at my phone it reminded me why i was doing this!!

Or tackle something you can get quick results in, housework, pile of papers that need organising etc - that usually spurs me on.

We got our house today so i need to start the big declutter and sort some boxes - so freaking excited!!!

So i need to pull my finger out as i have a house move, weight to shift, a race to train for, students, kids, a house and a poorly gran - so need to get more organised!!!

Mac you have done so well and have dragged me all along with you, keep it up, xmas will be here before we know it!!! Without this thread and bootcamp i would have given up by now!

blessedenough · 11/05/2015 14:13

Sorry Mac - i meant Letme in ref to regrouping. Letme you have a lot on, good luck with it all!

LetMeBeLight · 11/05/2015 17:05

You've hit the nail on the head there blessed, it seems to be all or nothing with me too!

I'm definitely up for an exercise challenge. I might swim my 10k instead of running it though (much better on my ankle). If my maths is correct (which is probably isn't) 10k is approx 400 lengths of a 25m pool. So 12 - 13 lengths a day for a month would get me there and give the flexibility to skip a day here and there and make up for it elsewhere.

Either that or the dreaded shred!
