Hi, I started on 1st Jan at 18st 10lbs and I have so much to lose, it would be lovely to share my journey with others who have over 6 stones to lose.

I know it's going to be a really long slog and I'll need help staying on the straight and narrow. I have to do it this year, no excuses!

So far I have lost 8.4lbs in first 11 days, but that seems tiny when I've got nearly nine stones to lose altogether. My goal is 10st.

Anyone out there? All buddies welcome Grin

Oh you poor thing rumgy, I hope your son has a speedy recovery. D&V really seems to be doing the rounds at the moment.

I totally get what you mean about the exercise - when I get into it I REALLY get into it and MUST do something every day - must be all those endorphins.

A thyroid scare story is enough to get me filling out my doctors form now! Hopefully I don't have issues with it, but my ability to check off most of the symptons has been nagging at me for a while, so I will get it checked, if only for peace of mind. Thank you all :)

Mrsstevejones · 26/03/2015 17:28

Hope your son gets better soon, we have all had it here, awful but over quite quickly - feels like a lifetime at the time however, sending sympathies.

Rubbish food wise

B - BPC with no coconut oil
L- Apple and cheese
D - Green smoothie and chicken wings - possibly not sure yet

Just not feeling like food at the mo, only 1 litre of water as well.

Gran has ovarian cancer not sure of the extent as yet but starting chemo next week, she is being upbeat but its just horrid. Hasnt sunk in yet.

LetMeBeLight · 27/03/2015 08:23

I'm knackered! Was early into the office yesterday morning, so dp did the morning dog walk and I did the evening one. Ended up doing 1hr 30 walk at full pelt.

If anyone wants to borrow the dog, he's great for getting you walking quickly, especially when he sees a fox/cat/bit of rubbish that has slim chance of being food.

Beef stir fry or dinner last night.

Off for another walk (off lead this time thank god) then office. TFI Friday!

Hope you all have good days x

LetMeBeLight · 27/03/2015 08:24

Sorry about your gran mrs, cancer is a vile thing. Hope they've caught it early and chemo isn't too bad x

ProfYaffle · 27/03/2015 11:24

Phew - sitting down at last! I've been running around like a lunatic these past few days getting ready for the Royal Parental visit Grin I've finally done everything I need to do and am now just sitting and waiting for them to get here.

It's been a good week food/exercise wise and I haven't had any alcohol since last Friday's spontaneous pub night. Today is Dad's birthday though and we're well stocked with wine so I'll be making up lost ground!

Wishing much strength to your Nan MrsS. Flowers

LetMeBeLight · 27/03/2015 11:44

Hope you have a fantastic weekend with your parents and enjoy the celebrations tonight prof.

I know what it's like rushing around getting the house 'guest ready' - you must have burnt loads of calories.

Speaking of which, did anyone see a BBC programme last night called something like the truth about calories? I didn't (missed it by the time I realised it was on) but when I was watching masterchef off the planner I saw an ad for it that said something like 'sitting down, exercise or housework - which burns the most calories, you'll be surprised'.

I bet it's housework!

Did anyone catch it? Worth a watch on iplayer?

Well done prof have a fab weekend - i am also "parent ready" as we had 4 viewings today so i took my mum out for lunch. I made good low carb choices so pleased with myself.

Hope your dad has a fab birthday.

Might catch that on iplayer - i saw it was on but mum overruled me!

Off to the hairdressers in a mo, will be nice to have a sit down, read some magazines and drink coffee i havent had to make!

Macloveswill · 27/03/2015 19:22

Mrs....hope your viewings all go well and sending healing thoughts to your lovely Gran.

Prof...well done on the royal preparations, hope all goes smoothly. Enjoy the vino!

Letme....I would love to borrow your pampered pooch! I'm still working on DH for us to get one. Great exercise is just one of the pros I'm presenting Smile

Have a fab Easter everyone. I bet it's a first for us all without chocolate!

I'm just about packed and we set off early in the morning on our french jollies. It's likely to be 10 days before I post again, I'll miss you all! If I get wi-fi I might well pop along to see how you're all getting on.

Fingers crossed I can behave as much as possible whilst I'm away...I plan to LC where possible, I won't be weighing, but I will be drinking (lots!) so I'll be a little bit gutted if I've put a lot on when I get back. But whatever happens, I'll have thoroughly enjoyed myself and we have to fit this WOE around our real lives, so what will be will be and I'll sort it on my return.

Bon Chance everyone and have fun! WineThanks Wink

French food is made for low carbing, wine and bread aside you should be ok. Have an amazing holiday. Food eaten on holiday doesnt count. I am on the lookout for an 85% cocoa easter egg, let me know if you see one.

I need a dog it would def help with the clear up after childrens dinner but hubby says this house isnt right - next house is though!! so fingers crossed.
We would be on the doorstep of a park (and beach 2 miles away) and i would def benefit from the exercise. I would happily come and walk your pooch but i think we are miles away (sw).

Rumgy - glad kiddies are better, it breaks my heart when they are ill.

I am half a bottle of red down - oooppss. I might have a glass of water and get to bed. Hubby home tom yay yay.

SBC everyone x

blessedenough · 29/03/2015 08:38

Hi everyone i am a regular but with a name change as i was a bit identifiable - dont out me!!!

Had a bad couple of weeks and have put on 3lbs - which is mad as i havent had an appetite and havent eaten enough. Hoping its just water weight or something and it will shift when i start properly again next week.

Family buffet meal today and i am making a few LC bits to take with me - bacon and broccoli salad and bacon wrapped haloumi, yum

Have a good sunday everyone and SBC X

ProfYaffle · 29/03/2015 19:12

We had a great weekend. Food wise all was OK, the Turkish restaurant on Friday night was perfect for low carbing. I had griddled halloumi for starter and chargrilled chicken with salad for main.

Obviously I drank far too much wine, I wish I'd used a keto stick this morning to check whether I'm still in ketosis but I forgot. I'll do it tomorrow just out of curiosity.

I'm not expecting to have lost anything this week because of the wine but I don't mind for a special occasion every now and then.

blessedenough · 29/03/2015 20:34

Had a family party and i was really good until i had 2 slices of garlic bread, glass of rose and fecking tiramisu (sp). This is on top of 3 days of red wine... so not expecting any weightloss but loads of stuff going on in RL so not going to beat myself up about it!

Prof turkish food sounds yum.

Starting back at the gym this week and i managed to get a pair of jeans on i hadnt worn in 7 yrs -i had to take them off later in the day as they were digging in but its a result!

This is going to be my week, i am struggling as i have lost weight i just feel fat not mahoosive so the impetus for weightloss is less even though i still have a looonnggg way to go!!! Any and all kicks up the bum welcomed! I want to be SBC!!

ProfYaffle · 30/03/2015 08:10

Used a ketostick this morning, still in ketosis and 1lb off which was unexpected.

Blessed, I know what you mean about still having so far to go. It's odd because on one hand I'm all pleased with myself with what I've lost so far but on the other, no-one's noticed that I've lost weight and I still look fat so it's discouraging after all the work and effort.

However, got to KOKO. What's the alternative? Nothing changes? I stay this way for ever? Just not happening for me, I'm grabbing this chance to lose weight for once and for all and I'm not letting go.

blessedenough · 30/03/2015 12:19

Good for you Prof esp with a lb off and wine!

I have a horrid tummy ache and i blame the garlic bread and puddings i ate yesterday, sugar doesnt agree with me and one day i will learn to just say NO.

Struggling with hungry feelings today so i know i am out of ketosis, hopefully it wont take too long to get back in - i like not being hungry!

I wasnt brave enough to get on the scales.

I need to go food shopping again and get organised for a good week of tasty LC food.

rumgy · 30/03/2015 18:24

Well I spoke too soon, dh and I got the bug and spent all weekend vomiting and feeling absolutely dreadful. No vodka for me and I think it will be awhile before I can stomach it. Have not weighed but knowing my luck I won't have shifted a bloody lb.
My appetite is slowly returning and I am super proud I have been 100% low carb. The old me would have resorted to toast and butter to help me 'get over it '
KOKO is my new mantra, thanks to this thread !

blessedenough · 30/03/2015 18:37

yea well done Rumgy for not giving in even when poorly, that a real achievement. Hope you are over the bug, we had it and it was horrid, luckily over quite quickly. You should def be a pound or two down.

Yes to KOKO, thats all we can do!

LetMeBeLight · 01/04/2015 08:27

Hi all, sorry I've not been about much, was away at the weekend and work has been crazy busy.

I'm still basically on track, too much wine at the weekend, but have been good on food. No idea if ive lost anything as I seem to be remembering to weigh after my morning shower and I am NOT weighing with wet hair!

Hope you all ave good days.

ProfYaffle · 02/04/2015 08:29

Hi everyone. Still KOKO here though I hurt myself doing kettlebells and our boiler has packed up so showering after a workout is going to be interesting (had a cold shower to wash my hair yesterday and got an awful headache)

I'm away at Mum and Dad's over Easter. I normally record everything I eat on MFP but don't fancy faffing around while I'm away. otoh I've got a 90 day straight thingie and don't want to mess that up. I may just have to stick a few random things in for the sake of completing it and watch my macros go nuts.

rumgy · 03/04/2015 08:41

I am KOKO still. Feel better after the bug. Wow that was a terrible one.
Not even fancying chocolate and dh has strict instructions not to buy me any. The house is full of the stuff already though for the children.
Just had a lovely breakfast of mushrooms, eggs and black pudding.
I have been spending time going through my wardrobe, I have a huge amount of clothes that are too small and have never been worn. It is most satisfying that I can actually wear some of them. A lot are so old they are out of fashion so I have got rid of a lot.

What are we all doing over Easter ? We are having a quiet time at home. Parents coming over tomorrow evening and I will have a few vodkas I expect. I am cooking pulled pork and roast chicken.

ProfYaffle · 06/04/2015 08:10

Hi, I'm back. How has everyone's Easter been so far?

Mum and Dad made herculean efforts to accommodate me, largely successfully though Dad's portions sizes are huge. My plate was piled high with about 6 types of green veg Grin I'm fairly sure I must have gone over my usual 20g but it's all with veg. I haven't had anything like chocolate, cake etc though I have been pretty free and easy with the wine.

Next stop the in laws next weekend .......

Macloveswill · 07/04/2015 07:36

Hey all, sounds like you're all doing well! Well done if you've managed to avoid the copious amounts of easter choc!

I'm back from my easter jollies too and I have some surprising, but slightly wonderful news. I've only gone and lost 3lbs whilst in the land of patisseries, glaces, pain au chocolats, croissants and delicious bread!! Get IN!

I have never in my whole life lost weight on holiday. Especially surprising is the amount of wine and G&Ts I put away.....a tipple or two most afternoons and plenty more every evening. But I steered well clear of the carbs, which were literally everywhere and it bloody well worked. Delighted with myself, it wasn't easy (especially as my DH decided he couldn't NOT have carbs whilst on holiday!) but I did it! Less than a pound to go to hit 2 1/2 stones off now Grin

SBC!!!!!!!

ProfYaffle · 07/04/2015 09:05

Wow, well done Mac! I've had a very similar experience, despite all the wine I still lost 2.25lbs. The 0.25 is important because it takes me under 13stone, I'm now 12st 12.75lbs! I'm gobsmacked tbh, didn't expect to lose at all this week.
