Hi, I started on 1st Jan at 18st 10lbs and I have so much to lose, it would be lovely to share my journey with others who have over 6 stones to lose.

I know it's going to be a really long slog and I'll need help staying on the straight and narrow. I have to do it this year, no excuses!

So far I have lost 8.4lbs in first 11 days, but that seems tiny when I've got nearly nine stones to lose altogether. My goal is 10st.

Anyone out there? All buddies welcome Grin

Oh wow, an omelette should fill you up and then hopefully you can pick at lunch? Sending sympathies, she sounds bonkers - in the nicest poss way.

The big clean starts... shortly.. sigh. Just getting the students out of the house to school, then its windows, skirting boards and all those horrid dusty bits i usually just ignore -since i had a baby last yr there are quite a few of those!!!

Def havent had enough water as i am constipated, so i have a big bottle chilling in the fridge.

ProfYaffle · 24/03/2015 09:08

She most definitely is!

Good luck with the cleaning - that'll be me tomorrow, cleaning everywhere in anticipation of the parent visit at the weekend.

Mrsstevejones · 24/03/2015 09:22

I am the same when i have my parents to visit, lots of housework, my hubby once threatened to invite his mother over as i had let things slide a bit - cheeky beggar so i pointed him in the direction of the hoover!!

Its just so never ending.

Good luck

Macloveswill · 24/03/2015 18:25

Haha.....Prof I don't have any in-laws, but DHs stepmother is equally challenging. Luckily she never comes to us and we just visit for a couple of hours 4 times a year to do our duty, or I may have struggled to bite my tongue. I hope it goes ok, but agree it would be super cool being able to hibernate and emerge as sylph like butterflies this Christmas!!

Great that your house is moving along Mrs...I'm sure you'll soon have it sold. Oven cleaning though...yuk! I hate it.

I also become a bit of a cleaning maniac when we have guests...I'm often quite untidy the rest of the time! I'm a secret slob and no one would ever guess as the place is immaculate when I have visitors Smile Woe betide anyone popping round unexpectedly!

Managed body balance class and my 30 lengths today and heading out for my walk in a bit, so a pretty good day. Just polished off a big steak, celeriac dauphinoise and broccoli and now tucking into strawbs with double cream. Full up!

Oh and had a woo moment today when I found some more stuff in my wardrobe that I'd forgotten I owned! And the size 22s that fitted only a couple of months ago literally swamp me. It feels good! 3 piles...bin, charity and eBay....still sneezing though! SBC!

Mac - well done you are on a mission - sorting and exercising. Go you.

Lol at secret slob - i def am, i hate unannounced visitors, having students means that all summer the house is perfect but winter time, not quite so.
I am a dirty bugger, oven is only 4 months old but is in need of a good clean, i wimped out today need to get some dynamite tomorrow.

I have 4 viewings on friday and an open house next sat - so i have booked a one off clean as i just cant get the time or motivation to do it myself and if it sells the house it is a small price to pay.

I am still feeling rubbish and have had choc biscuits and cheese sarnies - arrgghh. When i am better and my mum goes i can get back on it properly.
I will be better just struggling at the mo.

rumgy · 24/03/2015 20:32

Hi. I am still here pootling along.
I weighed today and have lost 1 St 11 lb. So nearly 2 stones.
I am loving my diet. I even managed to have a few vodka fuelled evenings and not go off the rails. It is frustrating as I would like it to be quicker weight losses though.

I am going to catch up on the thread now.

Macloveswill · 24/03/2015 21:37

Hey Rumgy....brilliant to hear you're still at it and a huge well done on the weightloss, that's fantastic! It's great that we can still have a few drinks and stay on the wagon isn't it?!

Hope you're feeling better soon Mrs....nice that your mum's been around to help.

Yes I've been on it with the wardrobe sorting and the exercise, but I go on holiday to France for 9 days this Saturday and there won't be much exercising going on! I just hope I can stay on the straight and narrow with food whilst I'm away. We're staying with friends for the first few days and I know it'll be a bit boozy every evening. It could be dangerous Grin

Woo-hoo...0.9lbs off this morning and I've hit the 25% mark off the 123.6lbs total I had to lose. A quarter of it ticked off and done!! 30.9 lbs off...2 stones 2.9lbs. I now weigh 16st 7.7lbs, so 92.7lbs left to go! Feels a lot better than the 18st 10.6lbs I started at! Still a long way to go, but it's lovely to hit these little milestones.

At the gym this morning for my last body balance class and swim before my hols.

Onwards and very definitely downwards everyone...SBC!!!

Yay! Well done Mac - hope you're proud of yourself!

Macloveswill · 25/03/2015 08:59

Thanks Prof....yes it's just such a relief that we're all still going almost 3 months in and it's actually working! Almost feels too good to be true when you look at what we eat, doesn't it?!

OP posts:
ProfYaffle · 25/03/2015 09:10

'Relief' is a word I use to dh a lot about this woe. Such a relief that it's working and it's something I can stick to.

Mrsstevejones · 25/03/2015 10:38

Well done Mac you are doing brilliantly have a fab holiday. Rumgy great losses too - very jealous of everyone but I am only getting what I deserve choc biscuits have no place on a lc diet!! Sigh.

Relief is such a great way of describing this diet I was almost sure I would be forever fat now I am nearly sure I might end up slim - ish.

I still have a massive overhang but I am def feeling slimmer just need my tummy to slim down now. Legs are def looking better too, still a way to go mind.

Its not looking good for my gran but scan today will reveal full extent so fingers crossed. It hasn't sunk in yet but determined to not slide into self pity and comfort eating as that won't fix anything.

LetMeBeLight · 25/03/2015 12:03

Morning all.

I've been lax lately, takeaway on Monday, cake yesterday... not even sure why I had the cake, I don't have a sweet tooth and I didn't even enjoy it.

My ankle was really hurting yesterday after going into London in smart shoes. Had to really force myself to walk this morning as it was still stiff - luckily a big bouncy labrador who sits directly in front of you giving you a death stare is pretty good motivation!

Back in the game today, food wise anyway, I think I'm too limpy for shredding, but I'll get back on that as soon as the ankle allows.

Excellent losses from Mac and Rumgy - well done both! And don't be too disheartened mrs - I've lapsed too (I think it's hard not to when you're not feeling well) but we can both get straight back on it and have a great loss next week.

I have a favour to ask.... can you please nag me to register with the local doctor and make an appointment. I think I may have an underactive thyroid. I know I'm fat because I ate too much of the wrong things (and too much in general) and was too sedentary, but recently I'm always tired and achey and I often get so cold that it takes me literally hours to warm up (you'd think with all this blubber I'd be constantly warm!) So yes, I'd like to have it checked, especially as we're probably going to start trying for a baby next year (eek) and I know it can affect fertility if not treated.

LetMeBeLight · 25/03/2015 12:06

oh and Mrs, I meant to say, fingers well and truly crossed for your Gran. I almost think the stage of not knowing/waiting for results is the worst bit.

I hope it's some comfort to know my dad recently had the all clear after having bowel cancer. Medicine has moved on so much and if they've got it reasonably early, your gran has every chance of a full recovery xx

Macloveswill · 25/03/2015 12:15

Gym and swim done!

Thanks Mrs....it is lovely to think we'll all end up slim. Imagine the relief when we've got it all off. We can so do this and our tums, muffin tops and thunder thighs are only 9 months away from being a thing of the past!

It must be so hard having things so up in the air with your Gran. You're doing so well under the circumstances when you must be so worried. I hope she's going to be ok.

OP posts:
Macloveswill · 25/03/2015 12:20

Let me...don't worry about lapses, we'll all have them at certain points throughout the year, but as long as we keep going, we will get there.

But get on the phone to the docs today! If you don't get it checked, you'll never know. Consider yourself nagged! Grin

ProfYaffle · 25/03/2015 18:38

Hope you have a good holiday Mac. I'm similar for the next few weekends, food'll be OK but it's the wine I'll have trouble with. I could murder a glass tonight (pig of a day involving lots of things that aren't working any more and now need to be replaced) but I won't because I went overboard last Friday and probably will again this Friday.

MrsS - you did sterling work on the 'what made you lose weight' thread. I'm currently biting my lip about the whole 'don't cut out a whole food group' responses on there. Hope you get better news about your Gran.

Hope the ankle gets better soon LetMe. And Hello to Rumgy, I don't think we've actually spoken on the thread yet Smile

Mrsstevejones · 25/03/2015 19:56

Prof - why thank you!! ha. I find it works for me but i did have to do EVERYTHING else first. A few years ago i would have prob thought the same thing but after all i have read and how it has worked for me, i no longer have any doubts and could sing it from the rooftops and when i am skinny i prob will.

I have just ordered a box of nice wines - which was a bit of a rooky manoeuvre as i have a limited amount of self control. Now i could murder a glass of wine!!

Next week i am going to be dedicated to the diet - i have done ok today but too many coffees, not enough water or fat etc. I havent weighed yet but i am sure i have put on weight.

Letme - ring the doctor! well in the morning.

Gran finds out the extent tomorrow, thanks for all your good wishes, treatment has come along way so fingers crossed.

Good luck everyone sbc

ProfYaffle · 25/03/2015 20:00

Yes, me too. Think I've tried them all! It's the 'I eat huge portions and am always hungry' part that made me think the op may benefit from lchf. Though the fact that she's bfing makes a huge difference too.

Mrsstevejones · 25/03/2015 20:06

The eat massive portions and loose weight bit was the thing that screwed up SW world for me. I actually put on 3 st whilst sort of doing it!
The ketogenic bit helps me so much as without the appetite control i cant do it. I cant abide being hungry.

So glad i found this diet, it sort of saved me, without sounding dramatic!!

Macloveswill · 25/03/2015 22:06

Yes completely agree Prof and Mrs. I have literally tried every diet under the bloody sun and this has been the best by far. I saw your comments on that thread and you're right, but they won't listen because they haven't seen the light yet. Even the government healthy eating guidelines are still banging on about high carb, low fat. You'd think with so many obese people around, someone would go back to the drawing board and say 'hey what we're advising isn't working!!'

People like us are sugar addicts...the only way we can lose weight happily is to get rid of those sugar cravings. LC does that. Every single other diet I've tried, I've struggled with cravings and eventually given up. It truly is our saviour!

Mrsstevejones · 26/03/2015 09:07

Right so its 40 days until my holiday and i need to get into my size 14s. I am in MOST of my size 16s so i have a dress size and a bit to go. My tummy is still disproportionally large and wobbly so i need to try and sort that out. I will be heading back to the gym- i am inspired by everyones exercise and i will try and add an evening walk in as well as the nights will be lighter soon.

I need to get this week done and then life goes back to normal.

Struggling for motivation at the mo, so any and all kicks up the bum welcome!!

Mrsstevejones · 26/03/2015 09:10

letme - Ring the doctor - babies are AMAZING although knackering, make you fat and skint etc but so totally worth it, so get yourself to the quacks and check out anything that might hamper the arrival of a little bundle of joy!
Cant recommend motherhood enough even if all my whinging about sleepness nights on here might suggest otherwise!!!

rumgy · 26/03/2015 09:56

letme have you rung the doctor ? If not why not ? I wont scare you with my thyroid story but my slow weight loss is a result. You need to get it sorted.
Well I swam 1000m last night. Felt great. My ds has been up all night with d and v so now I feel rubbish. He is 10 so I thought these days were over. I have to wash almost the entire contents of the house now. Joy. It is making my appetite disappear for sure !
I was planning on a nice long dog walk today but am housebound with a poorly child. I seem to be getting addicted to exercise as I really look forwRd to my walks / swims now.
I agree with you all and feel this woe has saved me, I no longer feel hungry. I was reading that it can impact your hunger hormones (grehlin?) as well as insulin so it works on many levels.
Off to wash out another sick bowl Envy........

LetMeBeLight · 26/03/2015 11:02

Gosh I wish I was in most of my size 16s!! 40 days is eminently doable to drop down to a 14 I think. Exercise will probably be key, so any extras you can do will be great. Why don't you book into some classes for next week now so you're tied to them?

I've printed out the form to register with the local doctor (I'm still registered with one where I used to live 50 miles away!), so some progress. Thank you for all the kicks up bum.

It's scary to think about having babies, but I know it will be amazing. The timing won't be the best - my career is just starting to take off and I will hopefully be newly slim, but there's never a good time is there?! I'm 33 next year, so I think we're at the point we just have to go for it! Spring wedding next year, then start trying!!!

Had a fairly decent dinner last night - pork chop and roasted veg. Another decent day on food today and a power walk with the hound tonight and I think I'll brave the scales tomorrow to see if I've undone the damage of earlier in the week.
