Weighed myself this morning and thought if this was going to motivate me I'd better record on here! Weighed in at 12st 13lbs and so a good way to go.

How are you Detta?

batey · 10/05/2004 10:21

Can I just blow my own trumpet a little....have been doing SW by myself (as in havn't joined a group, used magazines/books/website) and started on 10st 3lb in March and am now 9st.5lb,aiming for 9-9st2 or 3ish. Feeling very chuffed but everyone her is out at the mo.

Detta · 10/05/2004 19:56

HI Lemonice. I know what you mean about the wine thing! I've worked out that there's 13 sins in half a bottle, so you can still have some most nights! Good luck for the rest of the week.

Kayleigh · 10/05/2004 19:58

batey, that's brilliant. Well done. Have my first weigh in tomorrow so fingers crossed. feel so much better now am back in control of what i'm eating.

sarochka · 11/05/2004 19:31

crumbs - I don't seem to be doing at all well. Back at work and totally disorganised. feel quite stressed so am hoping for a couple off this week at least. Good luck everyone

wickedstepmum · 11/05/2004 21:40

very pleased with myself. 2 1/2lbs off!! That's 8 lbs in 3 weeks and my first half stone sticker. It all seems so easy when it works...good luck to everyone else

Crunchie · 12/05/2004 09:23

Forgot to post yesterday, another 2lbs off. That's 7lbs in 3 weeks and just 3 more to go to get 10lbs in 5 weeks. I go away on 30th May to another 3 by then should be easy. BTW on the wine, I usually allow 30 sins a bottle, and allow myself 1 bottle a week. That can be drunk in one night, or spread over. also drink it after food and it seems to last longer!!

Kayleigh · 12/05/2004 09:27

I lost 3 and a half pounds this week, so am over the moon. Was first week back after a couple of months of eating really badly.
You're right wickedstepmum about it being east when it's working. The hardest thing is finding the motivation to keep going after staying the same or gaining. Especially when you've been good.

willow2 · 12/05/2004 10:55

Message for Twinks - just to say that dh and I are doing this, armed with all your info, and it's working. Lost almost 1/2 stone so far - only another 2 to go! Thanks matey!

Twink · 12/05/2004 11:31

Briliant Willow, well done. Glad to see it put to some use.

wickedstepmum · 18/05/2004 22:21

yes yes yes - another 2lbs off - and I got so "tired'n'emotional" last Friday night I was expecting at least 2 on!! How's everyone else doing?

Kayleigh · 19/05/2004 09:37

hey, well done wickedstepmum - you are on a roll
I lost another 3 lbs this week - so that's 6.5 in two weeks.

Kayleigh · 19/05/2004 09:38

meant to say i find it a lot easier to stick to a diet in this weather. Anyone else find the sunshine is helping ?

Kayleigh · 25/05/2004 15:32

How's everyone doing ?

I couldn't get to class today as am working from home but haven't let that become a reason to be bad, which is a first !!!

Am having a green day today, fruit and fromage frais for breakfast, couscous and quorn sausages for lunch. And am snacking on home made tortilla chips (SIN FREE!!!!) while I'm working.

What day are you having ? (she says trying to revive this thread )

sarochka · 25/05/2004 20:38

Kayleigh.. how did you make them ? The tortilla chips. Have had bad few weeks and not stuck to much, back on again today with more effort in mind!

Kayleigh · 25/05/2004 20:56

Hi Sarochka, they came off an old slimming world thread. Can't remember who posted recipe but I thank them from the bottom of my heart !! Have also made mock peanuts today to take to work tomorrow. Recipe below. Enjoy !!

Tortilla chips - Free on Green
Dried lasagne leaves
Fry Light
Cajan spice

Lightly cook the lasagne in boiling water until just soft (approx 4 mins). Drain, dry and cut into triangles. Spray a baking tray with Fry Light, lay the lasagne triangles onto the baking tray and dust with cajan spice.
Bake at 200 C until crisp.Take care! they burn easily
Serve with garlic fromage frais

Chick pea mock peanuts - Free on Green
Open a can of chick peas and drain.
Spread out on a baking sheet, sprinkle over spices (I've used paprika, cajan spices, morrocan spices, garam masala - not all at the same time!)
Cook in a oven at 200 or mark 6 for about 1/2 hour, until dry and hard, a bit like peanuts.
Keep them in a airtight box.

Kayleigh · 25/05/2004 20:57

5-6 lasagne sheets will cover two baking trays. That's about the right amount for a couple of servings (eg two crisp bags full!)

woodpops · 25/05/2004 21:37

I really need help. Been following slimming world very sucessfully. Managed to loose 18lb. But for the past 6 weeks I just can't get into it and the weight is slipping back on. Any ideas to get me re-motivated???

wickedstepmum · 25/05/2004 21:51

Kayleigh, that is brilliant - well done I went up half a pound this week but don't mind too much as we went to the wedding of the year on Sunday - far too much to drink and all very emotional. 2 pounds off next week...I am determined. Woodpops, the only thing I can recommend is keep going to the classes. I find it much harder to stick to the plan if I haven't stayed for the class. And write it all down. It's much harder to eat chocolate cake when you have to admit to it in writing!

DelGirl · 28/05/2004 23:20

Kayleigh - started on SW (again, groan!!!) and have tried out your free tortilla's. Was a bit sceptical, but they're really yummy. If you didn't know it, you'd think they were the real thing. Thanks for the tip. I shall be baking those non-stop I reckon.

Going to try out the mock peanut recipe next. Has anyone got a recipe for hummus apart from the one that's in the magazine? That one sounds a bit bland to me. Thanks

sarochka · 29/05/2004 09:11

Kayleigh. I am off to make them now - having bbq this evening and quite a few of guests on SW so thought that they'd be a big success!
Are yous still doing well.
WSM - i have to agree. I put on 1 and haven't been for 2 weeks and know have gone up again. SO that's why I shall stay to class and start writing everything down again.
was out at 7 this am with dd walking on cliffs so feel positive. Great day and fab views of France...havea good day everyone!

Kayleigh · 31/05/2004 21:46

sarochka, how did you bar-b-q go ?
I am doing crap at the moment. Have had a very bad weekend eating everything in sight so have got to pull myself together.

delgirl - glad to help - they are scrummy aren't they Can't help with the houmus receipe. I use that one and just add more garlic/salt/pepper.

sarochka · 01/06/2004 10:54

Very yummy thanks Kayleigh - despite scepticism from DH. he makes the chips and likes them but this he did not go for!!
BBQ was good - started raining and felt like kids on a camping holiday for a while but then brightened up. Patio heater came in a treat!
Went to Brighton yesterday though and ate loads n loads. Thoroughly enjoyed but banoffee pie surplus to actual requirements!! Good luck this week

fairydust · 01/06/2004 18:43

hi all - am offically back on the horse (so to speak) joined again tonight.

wickedstepmum · 01/06/2004 21:21

1 1/2 off - I was planning on an ice cream in the interval of Harry Potter 3 last night - but there wasn't an interval!! Just as well...
