MESSAGE FOR TWINKS

Just to say another massive thank you for sending through all that stuff. You are a star! xx

Twink · 24/03/2004 16:44

You're welcome ! Glad it arrived safely. It's almost unheard of for me to go so long without seeing my mum, you must have given up on getting it !

Aniles · 30/03/2004 23:16

I'm new to slimming world and just getting the hang of what I can and can't eat. It's the end of the day and I feel quite comfortably full at the moment, I really don't feel like eating anything else. The problem is I've only had half an 'a' choice, one 'b' choice and no syns. Is it necessary that I eat 1 a and 2 b's even if I'd be eating just for the sake of it when I'm not hungry? And what about syns, do I need to eat 5 or more syns even if I don't feel the need?

I'm following the eating plan from home using the new food optimising book that I got hold of from ebay, so I've no-one else to ask.

In case you're wondering, I have had plenty to eat today it just happens to have been mostly free food (lots of fruit, veg, yoghurt, tin of free ravioli, couscous and tinned sardines (b) and milk (a) in 4 or 5 cups of tea).

Also, is it possible to eat eat too much free food? I'm not overweight, and only aiming to lose 1/2 a stone if that makes any difference.

maLarkin · 05/04/2004 15:17

Slimming World food optomising plan is fantastic, but I would strongly recommend going to a group, as it is really hard to do it at home, I myself have tried this. Another hint is you need to follow it properly, my weight loss has been bigger if I have had all my 'a's' and 'b's' and full quoto of 15 syns per day

deegward · 21/04/2004 17:57

Well wish me luck, I'm going to weigh in in 1/2 an hour and I know I have put on 1/2 a stone since I last was there. Jan.

Oh well, here goes...

Kayleigh · 21/04/2004 20:20

Good luck deegward. And well done for going back.

wickedstepmum · 22/04/2004 08:56

I went back two days ago. I knew I'd gone up but it was even worse than I thought. However, I think the new book a big improvement though I am a little upset about the removal of corned beef as 'free' - I've got 3 tins in the cupboard and no-one else in the house will eat it! But the extra cheese is a great boon. I've signed up for 5 weeks and am feeling very positive

Kayleigh · 22/04/2004 09:58

I really need to go back too. Only 10 weeks till I go away, and I have put on over a stone in the last couple of months. Just cannot stop eating rubbish. Am really upset with myself

Am going to have nothing to wear for my holiday if I don't get my act together soon.

Crunchie · 22/04/2004 10:05

Well I'm back on this too I was getting all stressed out so gave up for a while, but I have booked a holiday and have a great incentive that in 6 weeks I will be near a beach yikes!! OK 10lbs is my goal - really achievable!!

So far however I have had meetings and business lunches that make it so hard. I was so good yesterday I didn't eat the bread (had a ciggarette!) and had a marinaded prawn salad and plain new potatoes (only Olive oil in the prawns so is this still a B choice??) and one glass of wine. I allowed prawns as a B choice, olive oil as a B choice, wine as sins and so hopefully only went a little over on my sins yesterday. Today I am going to have no sins to make up for it

JudyH · 22/04/2004 18:06

Try these herbal products I've got hold of - there are brilliant : www.weight-net.com

deegward · 22/04/2004 19:46

Come on together we can do this! I go on holiday at the end of July so not long to go. I have put on 6lb, so have 4 to loose until I am back in target. Although I know my target was only taken so I didn't need to go to classes over Christmas!!

Today I have had Bran Flakes (b) Milk in cereal and tea (both a choices), prawn salad, piece of carrot cake (4 sins), gammon steak with syn free chips (b) and 2 "fried eggs" ( in fry light and in omelette maker), and a huge punnet of strawberries.

I think I will try a week of red, as I seem to lose most that way. one day down......

Kayleigh · 27/04/2004 12:20

I was going to start again today, but just don't know if i have the willpower
Class is this lunchtime. Can't decide what to do.

alexsmum · 27/04/2004 16:03

Did you go kayleigh?? I am going to get weighed tomorrow and am dreading it as I have been a complete and utter pig this weekend.I am trying to make up for it by eating only free food today and tomorrow but don't know if it will work.
my son's easter eggs are calling my name from the kitchen though...!!!!!

Kayleigh · 27/04/2004 16:16

no

sarochka · 27/04/2004 21:04

I have been going for 4 weeks now and lost nothing - not a bean. I have lost inches and my lady told me that this was quite credible. I am gutted I want to see the weight bit dropping too....I wonder if I am doomed to carry this baby belly for ever....any success from anyone ?

Furball · 27/04/2004 21:12

No success for me, I've yo-yo'd the last few months 1 lb on 2 off or worse the other way round and have finally decided to stop going. I thought I'd try 'healthy eating' and a bit of exercise. (yeah, we all know what thought did!) It's a good diet if you can stick to it. Saying that, they all are, the key to them all is sticking to it. Good Luck to you all in your quest, you'll see me on the beach, I'll be the white fat and flabby one!

wickedstepmum · 28/04/2004 08:52

First week weigh-in last night and I lost 5 1/2 pounds I am delighted. I think the new book is much better - it is lovely to have some cheese included even though I didn't always have it. Long walk and picnic on Sunday including crisps, choc & ice-cream - all counted as syns and no syns Sat & Mon. I am feeling rather smug. But wish me luck for week 2!

Crunchie · 28/04/2004 09:42

I forgot to say I went on Monday and had lost 4lbs I was so chuffed Then again, before I started back at class I did pig out on the Monday and ate loads of bread etc, which gave me 'extra' weight that night This week my goal is 1lb as I have had a business lunch yesterday and dh has an opening night Thursday (more wine etc) so I am saving sins for those two and trying to have less than 5 sins a day otherwise. My lunch I had little/no choice as there was only one main dish and one starter that I could choose (being veggie) and my client wanted wine (so I had to!) I just decided to have a flexi day, and I think I must have had 15 sins of wine, soup au pistou (light veggie/basil soup) 5 sins (?) and main gnocci (but there was loads of olive oil - B choice?) 15 sins. SO a total of 35 for the meal. This leave 35 sins for the rest of the week. None on Monday, none today, Thursday I'll need loads again. Oh well.

alexsmum · 28/04/2004 17:13

sarokcha i've had some success with it and I've been a bit of a messer too. I joined in the april and lost approx 1.5 stone maybe 2 then got pregnant and kept going while i was pg. i think i put about 1.5 or 2 stone in preg and that pretty much came off straight away. Baby is now 8 months and I'm aprrox half a stone lighter than I was when I got pregnant. I have really not taken it very seriously though..up and down like mad. However there is a lady in our class who started after me , and she has lost 10 and a half stone!!!
I felt ashamed when I thought how slack I've been. but I have produced a baby in that time so maybe not so bad!!

alexsmum · 28/04/2004 23:35

yaayy!! Just been to class and i've lost 4lbs!!! not sure how i managed this but hey i'm not arguing!!

Kayleigh · 28/04/2004 23:42

Hey well done alexsmum, brilliant...and Crunchie too.

Kayleigh · 28/04/2004 23:46

and well done to wickedstepmum too ...
