Yes Willow2.

Shall I send off for the pack and we can have our very own meetings (down the pub!)

fairydust · 19/02/2004 15:27

I lost 9 pound this week - must be stress

CountessDracula · 19/02/2004 15:29

WOW!

fairydust · 19/02/2004 15:58

it feels good - but i feel deprived

Kayleigh · 19/02/2004 18:57

9lbs fairydust ? That is amazing, well done Maybe you don't need to be quite so strict next week. No wonder you had all those cravings.

Twink · 19/02/2004 21:52

Willow, my old books still have your name on but I've not had a response from 'contact another talker' so feel free to try again if you still want them.

willow2 · 20/02/2004 21:00

Hi Twink - sent you a message - hope you get it!

champs · 21/02/2004 22:44

sorry to but in, i am at the moment wanting to lose ALOT of weight. am in two minds asto what to try... WW, SW, or some other. I see that there are some really encouraging stories here as there is in the WW thread.
I think it will take me a year and 1/2 to 2 years to reach my goal weight and so need something I can stick with.

I have done WW in the past but as I am ashamed to go to a class, I may do the at home pack.
Is there such a home pack with SW?

Sorry for all the questions but I came on to start a post to see best way to lose weight and saw this one.

Beccarollover · 22/02/2004 08:16

Hi Champs

Yes, I do believe there is a postal service at slimming world - see their website \link(www.slimmingworld.co.uk\here} for more information.

As for which one to choose the way I see them both is WW is for people who want the flexibility to eat whatever the like however in much smaller portions and slimming world is for people who like to be able to eat lots although what you can eat is slightly more restricted.

I wish you wouldnt feel bad about going to a class as I believe the class structure really motivates - I know when Ive lost weight in the past there is a 100% improvement in my motivation when Im going to a class rather than going it alone - depends on your will power I suppose!

Just browsing this one and noticed that someone said they lose more weight doing the red days. Isn't that how Atkins works - more protein suppresses appetite or makes us feel full?

Kayleigh · 22/02/2004 19:59

Think that was me tinker. I'm not sure if it is anything to do with the atkins theory. Even a red day is in complete contrast to atkins because you are still eating as much fruit & veg as you like plus dairy in a) option and carbs in b) options. Just find when I eat green day food i tend not to have as much veg or salad eg would eat jacket plus baked beans, or pasta with cheese on top and not bother with veg, whereas on a red day if i'm eating meat or fish i would have a salad or veg with it.
Probably just me as i know loads of vegetarians who only do green days and lose tonnes of weight (well maybe that's a slight exageration!).

Beccarollover · 23/02/2004 10:25

Im joining slimming world on Thursday - decided to ditch WW for the time being as Im starting to get bored of it. I like the newness and novelty of a new diet and it kicks me into sticking to it.

I have done it before about 2 years ago - thats how I lost all of my post DD weight so fingers crossed it will do it for me this time.

Question : How does the slimming world diet fit in with family meals? I would rather not have to cook seperately! Last time I did it I was a single mother to baby so cooked seperately anyway IYSWIM

well, I brought a SW magazine, and the menu pages look quite good. I think i will try it for 2wks from the magazine and all your advice and see how it goes and if I like it I will get the postal pack. If I pay all that money then I know I will have to stick to it....

I will start tomorow,
I WILL start TOMOROW!!

Crunchie · 25/02/2004 10:52

Beccarollover. TBH why can't you just serve everyone SW meals?? Or just add more potatoes to the other plate. For instance, green day Pasta with tomato/vegetable sauce and parmesan - suits everyone. If you want to add something use a B choice of tuna or chicken in the sauce. Red day Roast dinner with 7oz of new potatoes (these can be roasted too with a bit of fry light). Or green day roast dinner - serve yourself a small bit of meat and loads of veggies and potatoes.

I can't see that you will have to serve different meals really. I do two spearate things as I am veggie and dh isn't !!

champs · 25/02/2004 17:20

started today!!!! going ok.... scales told me a big lie when I got on them (well seemed like a lie)

PLease tell me... is ham free on a red day?

Crunchie · 26/02/2004 10:38

Yes it is, provided there is no fat on it (or rind if it's nice ham)

willow2 · 26/02/2004 11:56

Twinks - just to say a public thank you for sending the books CD - we need to meet to set up our own class!

champs · 26/02/2004 14:30

crunchue-- thank you very much.

2nd day...... had some cereal..... think I'll have some past later or maybe potato...

CountessDracula · 26/02/2004 14:43

Willow2 maybe they would pay us for running one in SW14?

CountessDracula · 26/02/2004 14:43

Not till I've lost a couple of stones though

willow2 · 26/02/2004 19:13

CountessDracula · 26/02/2004 19:43
